Halfway

Today marks the halfway point of the month. Soon it’ll be April. You know the month that brings May flowers. We’re ready. We had a dusting again last night, not enough to stick to the driveway, just enough to remind us of the season we’re in. Looks like the 70’s in Denver tomorrow, nice. Then Tuesday another little reminder before heading to the 50’s for the rest of the week.

Not sure if we’re going to the gym this morning, probably. Might go to church at 9:30 if we don’t. We’ll see. The baby shower was a good time, so said Marty. Happy we skipped it though. Lori went to get her nails done and I watched some college hoops.

Might run into the Village today as my buddy and his wife, who own a custom leather workshop in Cody Wyoming, are here doing a trunk show at a store. He mostly makes $1500 and up handmade belts but also sells other stuff. They’re now good friends and Lori and I got our belt buckles through them. Robi, you’d love their stuff. The advertise in Cowboys and Indians almost every month. They need a better online presence, but you should check them out. The name of the store is Mercury Leatherworks.

Lori is still sleeping at 6:45. Good for her, she needs it. Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day! Get out your green. Neither of us really have much green in our wardrobe. Not really one of those, wear often colors is it.

Check out a few houses we’re looking at, they’re nice and we could swing it and end up with no mortgage payment. Still trying to figure out the next chapter of our lives. We’re taking a trip up to Whitefish in May to check things out. I’ve been doing a bunch of research on everything from taxes to medical care, the year-round weather, local politics, (of course), shopping and more. So far, so good, but no decision just yet. Nice houses up there though and lots of lakes for boating, fishing and recreation. Whitefish is like Aspen was before it was taken over by Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, etc. Lots of great restaurants, art galleries and fun local shops. Also there’s no State income tax in Montana and no vehicle registration fees. The vehicle fees would save us around $7000 a year alone! You don’t realize it, but here in Colorado, and any other State run by Dems, they nickel and dime you to death with taxes on just about everything you buy or do. Not up there. That’s a big attraction. More to come.

That’s it, time to get moving. Have a great March 16th and God Bless.

Is it over?

Question, are we done with winter? If not, we’re getting close. Yesterday was a nothingburger in the weather department. Yea we had a little snow, but nothing stuck to the roads. By noon, any that made it to our lawn, was also gone. We could get a flurry today but again; it won’t be much of anything. Looks like a warmup is headed our way. Mid-week they say we might get a little bump, but after that, we could be headed for the great warmup. It’s 25 degrees, which is relatively warm, outside right now.

Last night the Av’s and Nuggets both won. Fun night. We’re headed to the gym this morning and then will get some stuff done around the house. Lori’s resident deer herd are laying in the front yard chewing away on our grass.

We were invited to Jess’s baby shower in Evergreen today, but we’re going to pass. She’s Marty and Mel’s oldest sons’ wife. They live in Vancouver B.C. and he couldn’t come as he’s technically an illegal immigrant in Canada and couldn’t get back in if he came home to the U.S. They ended up there as she was deported years ago, (she’s from South Africa) to Canada for overstaying her visa here in the U.S. Marty is pissed as even though they’re in their mid 20’s, (I think 24 or 25) they ignored getting things handled. He says he’s through bailing them out financially and otherwise. I told him, sure you are, ha.

Ty’s off today but works tomorrow. He’s paid off $20k of his $50K truck he bought in October. Good for him. We figure it’ll take until this time next year and then he’ll own it outright.

Time to get moving and get to the gym. Have a great Saturday and be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Snowing and Blowing

At 4:30am, it was snowing sideways with howling winds. Thankfully the ground is too warm so nothing stuck to the driveway or road. Not sure how long it’s supposed to stick around.

Yesterday Carmen came and cleaned the house. I ran to Costco and then over to see my buddy James, who is the Sheriff of Eagle County. He told me all the Sheriffs went down to oppose the proposed gun law, but none of the Democrat politicians would listen to them. He gave me some more details about just how bad this is, whether you’re a gun owner or not. I told him we’re thinking of moving to Montana in a few years and he said, he would if he could. He also told me to tell everyone that if they want a CCW, to do it now! Also said, stock up on things you want before the new tax starts April 1st and to get anything else you want before the new law passes. You know things are wrong and bad when all of law enforcement is against it.

Today I’m not sure what we’re doing. We’re shipping as much wine as fast as we can in case the tariff war sticks around. I doubt it will as the Europeans will blink, as they sell us way more stuff than we sell them. Speaking of blinking, the Dems who said they’d shut down the govt. as recent as yesterday, have now said they’ll support it. Guess there is one adult somewhere in the room on their side. They realized they’d get blamed.

Crazy crap going on everywhere. Remember, you are on your own! Don’t forget that. The government won’t save you from crime, food shortages, bad weather, disease, or anything else. Look at history and you’ll see this is fact. Don’t get complacent, be prepared for anything and you’ll be fine. It doesn’t take a lot, just a little common sense.

That is it people, time to go. Have a great day and may God Bless and watch over you!

Kicking it

The other night Lori went to the park with the neighbor kids, got a few hugs and now is trying to kick another cold. I told her, what the hell, you know those kids are like petri dishes! She slept a lot again yesterday but is still a little under the weather. Hoping she doesn’t share with me. No way I’m hugging her!

Good day for the Broncos! We crushed it in free agency. Might get a couple more guys too. Think we’re having cigar night tonight. I have to run over to Kellie’s as she has four dozen eggs for us. Don’t know about you, but we eat a ton of eggs and don’t pay for them at all! I’ve given Kellie and her family Broncos tickets a few times and wine whenever she wants it, and she won’t take a dime for any eggs ever again, (her words).

Tomorrow, they say we’ll get a little weather and then it’ll warm back up. I’m hoping there are no more big snow storms this year.

Looks like the Dems are going to shut down the govt. Let’s get this straight, they’re against eliminating waste and fraud, keeping men out of women’s sports, and basically anything Trump or the GOP is for, even if it’s good for the Country and the people. The way these guys are going, they’re not going to win an election for a long time. What’s ironic is that they’re against laying off people who shouldn’t have been hired in the first place, and thru their actions, are going to lay off even more people by shutting down the govt! You can’t make this stuff up.

Meanwhile locally, the Dems are putting in illegal gun laws that prevent people who can’t afford a new expensive license to buy a gun, meaning people that don’t have a lot of money. It’s now also easier to buy a fully automatic machine gun than a hunting rifle that holds 3 rounds. They make statements that are false and show they don’t even know how guns operate. They’re also planning on raiding the Parks and Wildlife funds to fund this and support illegals. Hunters in Colorado and across the Country are vowing not to hunt or buy a license in Colorado so now the State will lose another $500 million dollars to go along with their budget shortfall of $1.1 billion dollars. This means schools and other things we’ve paid taxes for, will now have their budgets cut. These guys in Colorado all need to go. They’re bought and paid for by billionaires like Bloomberg and Soros and don’t follow the will of the people. They too will lose their jobs next year, mark my words. The damage they’ve already done to our once great State is unconscionable. That’s why we’re looking at moving.

That’s it, have a great day and God Bless.

What’s happening

Haven’t heard from most of you for a while. Tom’s now busy most of the time I guess. He hasn’t even called or texted with Free Agency going on and with the big Nuggets win on Monday. In fact, he told me he doesn’t even read the blog every day anymore! Blasphemy. I do talk to Robi more often but I’m the one who calls her most of the time. Annette, I guess you and Lori talked a few weeks ago. Hope you’re well. Outside of that, not many people read the blog anymore. Oh well, someday the kids will be able to go back and read it all. I still need to print out a hard copy just in case.

Trying to decide what to do today. Lori’s fabric for her bedding is no longer made, (of course), so we might take a drive down so she can find something else. She’s taking today and tomorrow off, but she’s never really off. She’ll still answer calls and be on her computer, mark my words.

I’m plugging away trying to figure out the rest of our lives. I’m working daily on where are we going to live, what’s our next financial move, and continuing to plug away on my new project/company. The laws and regulations and new taxes in Colorado are almost making it impossible to stay. The majority of the people don’t want it, but with the Dems in office, there’s not much anyone can do about it right now. There’s still confusion on whether or not they actually won or cheated. The latter wouldn’t surprise me. Not much does these days. You still can’t believe anything you see on the news. They’re still trying though, even though Trump is having success after success. They seem to be mad at the people that have found billions of dollars in fraud rather than at those who committed the fraud, wow.

Oh well, time to go. Have a great day, stay safe and be well and God Bless.

Football and Basketball

Unless you’re a huge fan, NFL free agency probably doesn’t mean much to you. But to those of us that follow it closely, it’s a big day. The Broncos did well. We added a couple of studs to our defense which was already great. In basketball, the Nuggets beat the #1 team handily. Overall, a great day for Denver sports.

I ran down to Denver for a couple of quick stops and was home by 1. Lori worked most of the day and is back in Vail today. Nice weather up here. Should stay that way until Friday when we get a little bump. Then it’ll warm up again.

I think we might go down to Denver tomorrow or Thursday so Lori can hang out at the pool at the Clayton in Cherry Creek with Tina and get some sun. We’ll see.

That’s it for today, 5:50am now, time to go. Have a great day and God Bless.

Early

It’s 5:30am so is that really 4:30am? Two days ago, it was. I feel great and all adjusted. Lori is working in Vail today and Ty is back to work too. Looks like the mid 70’s in Denver today. Friday is the next day with any rain or snow. Soon, Spring will be here. Hard to believe it’s March 10th

It takes a day to get rid of salty food from eating out, so today we’re back. Restaurant food is always so salty. These days it’s more expensive too. I forgot to mention there was a 3% restaurant charge on our bill the other day, hmm.

That’s it for today, time to get moving. Have a great Monday and God Bless.

Warming Up

Looks warm today, around 55 degrees up here. Yesterday was a fun day in Denver. We made it down to Cherry Creek around 10:30 and met our new friends who own a fine bedding store. They have everything from mattresses to bedding and everything in between. We left with some new stuff and walked a couple blocks down the street to meet Jagger and Ava for lunch.

We went to the new French Vietnamese place, and it was really good. As you can imagine, lots of salt so we’re a little puffy this morning, but good food and a good time. That lasted a couple hours and then we all walked back to our cars and headed our separate ways.

Ty and Jack went skiing. Ty took Jack to the bunny hill as Jack’s not a skier, but they had a blast. I think we’re going to the range this morning after the gym.

Daylight Savings time is here. I managed to condition myself pretty well over the past couple days so it’s not a shock to my system this morning. I do prefer it lighter later in the day so if it stops, I like it like this.

Time to get moving. Make it a great day, stay safe, be well, embrace the moment and God Bless.

Sunny

Looks like the 50’s today in Denver building to the 70’s on Monday. We’re headed out around 8 for Denver. We’re on a quest to find new bedding and then are meeting Jag and Ava for lunch. After that, depending on the start time, we might be going to River’s State Championship hockey game. Not sure when it starts. Davy will text us this morning.

Ty and Jack showed up around 6 last night. I think they’re skiing today. They go back to second grade together. Jack is going to join the Air Force in June now that Trump won and our military is going back to what it once was, before Biden and the whole woke agenda thing. Good for him, it’ll be good for him.

I washed both cars yesterday. We might take Lori’s car to Denver today as it’s easier to park. I haven’t decided yet. Lori is in the shower right now and it’s almost 7. I went to bed early last night and slept until 6:30 to minimize the impact of moving our clocks forward tonight at midnight.

Time to get moving. Lori is already out of the shower, but no big, as I shower in like 2 minutes. Have a great Saturday and be well, God Bless.

Cancelled

We were headed to what we thought was sunny and warm Arizona today. But after watching the weather, we’re postponing our trip for a month or so. Looks like rain and in the high 40’s or 50’s today and the 60’s tomorrow. It’s going to be in the mid 60’s up here Monday! No big, my Marriott miles are back in my account and my flight credit is in my JSX wallet.

Tomorrow we’re going to head down to Denver for a little shopping and then we’re going to lunch with Jag and Ava. There’s this great restaurant named Le Colonial, which Ava has been to in Chicago. It’s a French Vietnamese restaurant which is really exceptional. We talked about it last week when we had dinner but couldn’t get in. The kids are super excited and we’re always happy to get together with them. I think we’re going to try to find some new bedding for our bed when in Denver.

Not much snow up here, less than an inch. It was snowing pretty good when I left cigar night around 6:45 last night. Thankfully it’s blue sky outside right now and looking like no snow for at least the next ten days. I’m sure we’ll get another shot before April, but we’ll take it.

That’s it for today. Have a great Friday. Spring is right around the corner. Take care, stay safe and God Bless.
