Good morning….brrrrr. The air is so frigid outside we can actually see our lab’s breath when she barks to come in. The big dog’s water is one giant block of ice and our concrete slab is a huge sheet of ice. \u00c2\u00a0The sky is a gorgeous shade of turquoise adorned with brush strokes of peach and gold. Colorado mornings certainly are beautiful!<\/p>\n
The kiddos went out to lunch with Uncle T. and Aunti B. They took the boys to Panera Bread Company…I’m not sure what they had for lunch, but they had a really nice time. Thank you Uncle T. and Auntie B.<\/p>\n
The youngest had a sleep over here last night under the guise that the boys may not stay up all night and lights out at 9:30…otherwise we were calling Jack’s mom to pick him up. We only had to offer a few reminders to quiet down. \u00c2\u00a0The oldest also joined the sleep over. \u00c2\u00a0I was surprised that all three boys were truly asleep by 10:00p.m. \u00c2\u00a0They were still sleeping soundly at 7:30 when Lacey barked loudly..two times at the base of our stairs for \u00c2\u00a0her breakfast. Ugg, she is a demanding old lady…especially when it comes to her breakfast and dinner. \u00c2\u00a0Anyway, the kiddos are awake and playing. \u00c2\u00a0I believe they were just jumping from the bed to the mattress on the floor…I had to summon the youngest down to remind him that it is only 7:30 in the morning and they need to play a quite game. \u00c2\u00a0As I mentioned before…our hardwood floors are the original sub-floors and there is absolutely no sound insulation…just an amplified echo. \u00c2\u00a0They are currently playing quietly…happy mom…happy home.<\/p>\n
On to the play offs…..Oh boy what a great display of power the Green Bay Packer’s showed last night. \u00c2\u00a0We have quite the game to watch next weekend. \u00c2\u00a049ers vs. Packers. \u00c2\u00a0At least two of the most loyal fans ever cheering their teams on. \u00c2\u00a0Grandpa Bob..who has been a 49ers fan since he was a boy and Grandma L. who has been a Green Bay fan since she was a girl. I’m sure they will congratulate the winner and the non-winner no matter what the outcome. \u00c2\u00a0I’m sure one or the other will also be devastated….(another “Ugg”) I’ll have to watch through spread fingers since my hands will probably\u00c2\u00a0be covering my eyes for most if not all of the game. \u00c2\u00a0The Broncos will play the winner of the Ravens vs. Colts game. \u00c2\u00a0The Mr. is quite upset that he will be in Italy for the first playoff game. \u00c2\u00a0Hopefully, we will have a second action packed playoff game that we can go to see live!<\/p>\n
I spoke with Grandma Dixie yesterday…she is doing well…however, her computer is giving her fits on posting comments. \u00c2\u00a0She is also one of our loyal readers, as she looks forward to reading our post everyday. We are happy to know that all of you family members enjoy reading…if any of our friends are keeping up with our “Years of Change” let us know.<\/p>\n
I’m not sure of the plan for the rest of the day…I think Jack’s mom and I are taking the kiddos for a hike in the crisp cold air. \u00c2\u00a0We’ll send them on “wind sprints” while we try to just keep up. \u00c2\u00a0Definition of a “wind sprint”…sprint to a designated point, touch the ground and sprint back to the spot of origin.<\/p>\n
I have to make spice cake cupcakes for the oldest’s birthday party sometime today. \u00c2\u00a0His friend party is tomorrow afternoon. \u00c2\u00a0I’ve changed up the typical party plan. \u00c2\u00a0We are taking 12 kiddos up to Evergreen Lake (a city owned park) for ice skating. \u00c2\u00a0We have a “Warming Hut” on the bank of the ice that we will serve hot cocoa, appetizers, cupcakes and anything else fun I can come up with. \u00c2\u00a0Just to put your collective minds at ease…..the park rents out the skates for the kiddos and I have requested all the kids wear head protection…ski, bike or skateboard helmets. \u00c2\u00a0I don’t want any noggin injuries on my watch!<\/p>\n
Off to help the Mr. make a delicious breakfast that all three of the boys might enjoy.<\/p>\n
