{"id":1209,"date":"2013-01-14T16:07:16","date_gmt":"2013-01-14T16:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.2011familymakeover.com\/?p=1209"},"modified":"2013-01-14T16:08:50","modified_gmt":"2013-01-14T16:08:50","slug":"the-hobbit-an-unexpected-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.2011familymakeover.com\/?p=1209","title":{"rendered":"The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning&#8230;the oldest wanted me to wake him at 6:30&#8230;I tried. \u00c2\u00a0He actually made it downstairs at 6:55 and is munching on his breakfast. \u00c2\u00a0The dogs are at his feet begging for scraps. \u00c2\u00a0The youngest is still in dreamland. \u00c2\u00a0I made a few attempts at rousting him to no avail. \u00c2\u00a0He must be growing.<\/p>\n<p>I took the boys to The Hobbit. \u00c2\u00a0The kiddos really enjoyed the film until the end when my oldest jumped out of his seat and said, &#8220;Are you kidding me!&#8221;. There was hushed giggles from the audience. \u00c2\u00a0I explained on the ride home that there are three books(journeys) in The Hobbit series and we may get the books to read before the next movie comes out. \u00c2\u00a0The cinematography\u00c2\u00a0and graphics in the film were amazing. From the Shire(where the Hobbits Live) through the forests to the home of the Elf King all captivating images. \u00c2\u00a0The home of the elves in Middle Earth reminded me of the vintage Maxfield Parrish artwork&#8230;I&#8217;ll let you all give feedback on your thoughts of the attached photos&#8230;just the artist I immediately thought of while watching this part of the movie. Actually, if one was to look through \u00c2\u00a0Maxfield Parrish&#8217;s body of work inspiration for the cinematography may have been born there.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.2011familymakeover.com\/?attachment_id=1212\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1212\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1212\" alt=\"images\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2011familymakeover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/images.jpeg\" width=\"301\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.2011familymakeover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/images.jpeg 301w, https:\/\/www.2011familymakeover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/images-300x167.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 301px) 100vw, 301px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.2011familymakeover.com\/?attachment_id=1213\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1213\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1213\" alt=\"images-3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.2011familymakeover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/images-3.jpeg\" width=\"275\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The big dog stealthily made his way upstairs and tried out the comfort of each of our beds. \u00c2\u00a0He seems to have chosen Papa Bears bed as the most comfy. He has absolutely no regard for the words down, off, or no. \u00c2\u00a0He just smiles&#8230;really&#8230;smiles at me and waits for me to put my weight and will against his. \u00c2\u00a0Treats and food are the only motivation for him to jump down. \u00c2\u00a0Now, I have three rooms&#8230;make that four rooms of bedding to wash..eventually&#8230;I have to get to the guest bed which said big dog checked out as well.
