Only been two days but the season is here. Soon it’ll be Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas. All in the next 100 days. The stores will start stocking Spring attire soon. Our neighbor has had her Halloween decorations up for a good two weeks. Costco has had Christmas stuff for just as long. These days things come and go fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. B’s wife told him not to make any rash decisions yesterday as he too is experiencing questioning of what’s it all about. He told Lori he’s got about 5 years left in him to work and then asked much longer she would work. She said, “not that long”, and then he replied, “well, when you’re done, I’m done, as I can’t do this without you”. That’s a big compliment if you think about it. It’s natural to question your role in this World and how you’re spending your life, especially when someone close to you passes away. We’re all conditioned from birth to follow a preset path of going to school, getting a job, working every day your entire life, and then retiring when you’re basically too old to really do all the things you’d like to do, and then you die. You have to admire those free spirits that take their own path. Sure, you have to make a living to support yourself, but to what end. I think the real question is are you doing what makes you happy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On another note, we tested our water and it’s fine except it’s as hard as it can be. I have a plumber coming today, and we have a water softener in the mechanical room, so we’ll see what’s up. We always knew our water was hard but didn’t know how hard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ty works today at 7. We’ll head to the gym at 6:30 or earlier so Lori can get to work. With luck, the papers on my big deal for work should be signed today. Lawyers are always a roadblock in getting any deal done quickly. Knock on wood that everything is fine and no last-minute surprises pop up. Not sure if you’ve seen the movie Money Ball with Brad Pitt. It came out years ago, probably 20, and is a baseball movie where he builds a winning team off analytics. Well, I’m basically doing the same thing with the wine business. You can’t argue with numbers as facts are facts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More shootings in Denver last night. I read where Denver is more dangerous than LA or New York. Doesn’t surprise me. It’s all due to the leadership or should I say lack of. So sad what Denver has become. 5:44am now, sun should be up soon, along with Ty. Time to get moving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
