What a show. Neither Lori or I had ever seen Garth Brooks in concert, and true to his reputation, he really is one of the top entertainers out there. Our seats were great and the way he interacted with the crowd was if he knew all of us personally. He stopped the show several times to talk to fans and answer questions and truly was thankful that we all came out to see him. It was so loud, not the band, but the crowd, that several times I had to plug my ears as they were distorting like a blown speaker from people screaming. Garth said there must be something about afternoon shows as we were much louder than any of the night time shows. Guess it’s because we all have more energy in the middle of the day. One of the coolest things, was most all the guys in his band have been with him since the beginning, which was back in the 80’s. One guitar player turns 79 next month! The “rookie” as Garth called him, has only been with him 6 years. Then you jump back to 1994 for the next guy in the band. It really was a great show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We made it to Cherry Creek by 11:15 for lunch before heading over to the arena. We had a nice lunch but Lori had to send hers back and have them remake it. We had access to the Champions Club to go in early to a VIP area but we skipped it. The crowd was polite and respectful and kind, as that’s who cowboys are. The best thing is we were in the truck and on the highway by 4:30 in the afternoon! We’re a little wiped out from being on our feet dancing for two hours, but getting home by 7, (we stopped for ice cream in Georgetown) was epic! Lori has way better pics but here’s one. As you can see, my buddy at AEG concerts (the promoter) hooked me up with great seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We didn’t hit any traffic either way which was great. I’m sure today will be bad. Ty’s golfing at 11 and Jag is taking it easy today before work starts back up tomorrow. We’re headed to the gym and then will do a few things around the house. Have a great Labor Day, Fall is officially here and the colors are changing. Soon the leaves will be dropping and the snow (hopefully) will be coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
