If I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know better I would guess your voting for Obama, by your remarks! I believe materialism is one of the building blocks of America, I like living in a nicer house driving a nice car and have quite a few nice things,( i.e toys,art) and I am proud of the fact I did work hard and made good money to be able to afford these things. Yes, it does make me feel better having a car that is reliable and comfortable various rooms I can go to in my house and having toys to entertain me, why should I feel guilty about this! Then we have people who want to take away from and start giving to people who don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to work ! Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get me wrong I believe in helping people who are less fortunate, I pay plenty of taxes to already cover these programs, I donate plenty to charity as well. Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s stop the government waste, stop fraud in the system then your still short, come see me! Sorry to rant but if we don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t continue to buy materialistic things are country will be far worse then it is now. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s our problem right now, no is buying materialistic things we need to support America and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s workers by buying!

First off, in general, I agree with both comments. To Uncle T, materialism is not all bad, what is bad is that being ones sole goal in life above all else. How many times have we all heard the story of the rich old person that dies unhappy. What I’m saying has two points. First, if your main goal in life is to accumulate as many toys as possible, you’re not getting the most out of living life. No one said not to strive for success, as success is a good thing but for individuals to put buying a Ferrari above family, relationships, health and other more meaningful things, is a mistake. You see my point here is that there are more important things in life than things! Second, because society is set up to condition everyone that success is all materialistic, \u00c2\u00a0is why people that don’t have these things think the government SHOULD give them things instead of them working for it! Get it, the current President is buying votes by giving people free stuff that you and I worked for! (and how dare you suggest I’d vote for you know who!)<\/p>\n
Now to Grandma Eleanor, I don’t think Americans are afraid to spend, in fact we are spending but we aren’t enough to make a change. Companies are the ones hoarding cash and are what’s holding us back and you can’t blame them when this administration will provide no certainty regarding taxes or regulations. I wouldn’t spend all my company’s cash either in this current situation. Also no one said not to buy American, in fact I 100% agree and think that we should all get a tax break or something if we buy American. There has to be some sort of advantage to get people to buy American otherwise just saying it’s good for the country isn’t enough.<\/p>\n
So, great stuff from you two! Let’s keep it going. Now onto the day, yesterday the misses headed downtown for the big 2200 person lunch with Geena Davis. She said Geena is really really funny. Meanwhile the oldest one was home with me still sick. I worked most of the day and cleaned the house later before she got home. Last night we had Harry for dinner after he worked at my Mom’s. Today will go up and see him again before he leaves tomorrow night.<\/p>\n
