Hold on!

Tomorrow is Jag’s birthday, Saturday is Tommy’s, a week from Friday is Christmas, Monday Lori goes to her Mom’s, the 29th is my birthday and the 31st is New Year’s. Did I forget anything? I’d guess I’d better get shopping, ha.

Who’s getting the shot? Don’t think we’re eligible for a while. Some side effects are showing up but so far nothing serious that we know of but it’s only been a couple days. Think we’ll watch it for a bit.

It’s warmer today. We had snow yesterday on and off for most of the day. I’ll drop Lori in Frisco this morning before heading to 32nd and Lowell in Denver, then Park Meadows, then Cherry Creek and then a few more stops before going back to Frisco to get Lori probably around 5:30. So a long day ahead of me.

Tomorrow will be mostly spent on the phone and then Friday I don’t know yet. 6:04 am now so I guess I’ll get going. Be well, be safe and GB.

Still snowing

Yesterday we took Jag’s car to Glenwood. It was snowy and throughout the day lots of cars slid off the road. Jag shoveled the driveway later in the day after I did it in the morning. Ty completed all three finals and thinks he did well. He has two more Thursday. Lori’s back is still out. It’s not healing like a pulled muscle this time. I was going to Denver today but too much ice and snow on the road. When it’s slick in Denver you know there’s no point going.

Lori has to be at work at 8 and wants to drive herself. I offered but she wants to drive. The dogs are fine and so are the boys. Sarah left when Jag and I did around 10. She’s coming back up Friday and Jag is having some other friends up too. Time to get moving. Be well and safe and God Bless.

More Snow

Looks like tonight more snow is on the way. Not sure how much but I’ll be shoveling again by the morning. The Bronco’s won! It was our QB’s best game ever. Lori’s back is still sore and yesterday was a whirlwind with her Mom. Ty has final’s starting today and after my conference call Jag and I need to take his car to Glenwood to drop it off. Sara came up from Boulder yesterday and spent the night here as it was too late and too cold for her to drive home last night.

Lots to do this week. Hard to believe we have a little over 2 weeks left in the year. Sure hope 2021 is better but with the new administration and their new laws and outlook on things, I don’t have much hope. Time to get Ty moving so we can get to school on time. He has three finals today. Hope he does well. God Bless.

A Big No Go

Well we tried. Between the snow and the fracture in Lori’s back, we couldn’t make it. Probably for the best as the way Lori is moving around, had we made the plane, she’d probably be in a wheelchair or the hospital by now. Looks like surgery is needed for sure.

Dixie is sad, Lori is sad and so are the boys and I. On top of it all, I woke up early for no reason, cleaned the snow off the car, and packed Lori’s stuff and some other things for Denver like the dry cleaning. Now were not sure what the plan is. We’re hoping Dixie can somehow get in on the first wave of shots so she’ll be protected. We’ll have to figure out what to do with the dogs. Mojo is old of course but the real problem is we’re not sure anyone or place could handle Harley. We’ll see. Anyhow everything happens for a reason and it’s obviously in God’s plan that Lori didn’t go and that Dixie doesn’t travel right now. Everyone was against Dixie traveling right now except Lori and I think Dixie. We’ll figure it out and somehow get together with her soon.

Today, like yesterday, Lori needs to stay in bed. Not sure what she did to her back this time but Dr. B. says it is fractured and she needs an A Lift where they go in form the front by her hip. First up though is to get it calmed down.

It snowed all the way up to when we went to bed. It’s cold outside in the single digits I’d guess. We only have a few new inches here at the house but the higher elevations got a lot. Jag is done with his finals and Ty’s start Monday. We all have a huge week around here. While it would have been good for Dixie to see the house, she wouldn’t have seen much of us four all week until next Saturday.

Guess I’ll go. Be well, safe and enjoy the day. God Bless.

Giving it a go

Vail Pass was closed last night but it’s open now so we’re giving it a try. It’s 5:41 now and we hope to be on the road by 7. If I’m lucky I’ll be home by noon. Hope the snow holds off until then.

Jag has his last final at 7:30 this morning and Ty starts his Monday. Jag feels pretty good and Ty is a bit stressed. All Ty’s friends in Denver had their finals cancelled. Hope he does well.

Lori’s work is going well. So is mine but I have about $800K worth of revenue to get in. Lori will be back Tuesday when of course we’re supposed to get more snow. The CU game is on at 10 so I’ll listen to that during my drive home. I was going to stay in Denver and do a little shopping but don’t want to chance it. That’s it, have a good weekend. God Bless.

SNOW

Well snow is here. We also learned Jag won’t go back to college until February 15th which is a month delay. Lori will get tested today for her trip tomorrow. Other than that we’ll be hanging close to home. Lots to do. Hope we make it down tomorrow to get Lori to the airport. We’ll need to leave early.

I have a few calls today. People are trying to get back to normal but every time we take a step forward and adapt, somebody, mostly democrats, put in some new restrictions. The people have had enough and judges are now over ruling excessive lockdowns by these politicians. Thank God.

Turns out Hunter Biden and his family (that includes daddy) have been under Grand Jury investigation for two years for China dealings. Then you have the California Congressman who led the impeachment against Trump who was sleeping with a Chinese spy and had an intern that she put in his office and get this, he is on the Intelligence Committee. Better yet, Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders admitted they held off on approving coronavirus aid to hurt Trump’s election chances. Let that sink in. They purposely delayed aid to Americans so Trump wouldn’t get re-elected. Their logic was that doing this, even though people died, prevented more people from dying over 4 more years of Trump! Unbelievable. This is criminal. They have the blood of Americans on their hands, wow. Enough said. You still trust the govt.? Especially any democrat? They lied to us for four years saying Russia had infiltrated Trump while all along China had infiltrated them! Sad thing is most dems will look the other way.

The vaccine is coming soon to a pharmacy near you. Problem is only 47% say they’ll take it. Large crowds were in the streets of London singing “stick the vaccine up your arse”. Something has to give as lots of people won’t get the shot. They say this is all due to Thanksgiving travel. Stay close to home if you can. Some scientists say we don’t need the shot as with 15 million confirmed cases you have 150 million more people exposed Worldwide which is half the World’s population meaning we have enough for herd immunity. They say we now just have to let it work through the population. We’ll see if they’re right. I’d rather verify anything they say than trust what they say at this point.

That’s it. Time to go. God Bless everyone.

Here we go

Snow’s coming in tonight. Then it’ll be cold for at least 10 days meaning in the teens at night and if lucky, the 30’s up here in the day. Dixie will hang out in the house as there’s no where to go. Our local nursing home a mile away has 14 cases which is a pretty big outbreak for up here.

We’re all optimistic about 2021. How could you not be after this year. Lori probably should not be traveling with everything going on but her mom is not doing well at home all alone. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing but it’s her mom. My mom probably wouldn’t go anywhere.

Jag had one final yesterday and another tomorrow and another Saturday. Ty’s are all next week. Aspen was nice, pretty crowded too. I was in and out of town in an hour and after picking up some ribs for the boys, home by 2.

Time for coffee. December 10th wow. God Bless.

Aspen today

Heading west today to Aspen. Lori is in Vail. Should be home mid-afternoon. The boys are studying away. My back is getting a bit better but Lori has a Pars fracture according to Dr. B. No surgery now but good to know. Also Dr. C. apparently fractured her hip when Lori had her first fusion. Wow.

Today is also Dad’s birthday. What a great man who is still missed and in our thoughts and prayers.

Weather is headed our way with cold temps starting tomorrow night and then staying here for a while. Should be n the 30’s all the way until Christmas. I’m in Grand Junction tomorrow and need to get back before the snow. Time to get coffee and get ready for my 8am call with Slovenia. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Now straight from the UK today, hmmm. Who’s first in line for a vaccine?

MailOnline US - news, sport, celebrity, science and health stories

Americans with ‘significant’ food or medicine allergies are urged NOT to have Pfizer shot after two UK healthcare workers suffer ‘anaphylactic reaction’ – so was Fauci right about Britain rushing its approval?

There are fears over how safe Pfizer’s COVID vaccine is after two British healthcare workers who were among the first in the world to receive it on Tuesday went into anaphylactic shock hours later, prompting British authorities to tell anyone with a ‘severe’ allergy to food or medicine not to get it. The FDA is due to meet tomorrow to discuss green-lighting the vaccine in America after being lambasted for taking a week longer than the Brits to get it off the ground. In a preliminary analysis posted online on Tuesday, one group of FDA scientists said it was safe and there was no mention of any type of allergic reaction. But Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is now warning people with a severe allergy to food or medicine not to get it. In America, that applies to at least 200,000 people who have food allergies and many more who have drug allergies. The two healthcare workers who were affected both carry EpiPens but no other information has been given. They are now said to be recovering well. Among the 20,000 people who were given the vaccine in Pfizer’s trial, 137 had allergic reactions but so did 111 people who were given the placebo, leading scientists to dismiss it as a potential hazard. Four people did get Bell’s Palsy after receiving it, a type of facial paralysis, but the trial scientists said it was not necessarily the jab that caused it and was on par with the general rate of Bell’s Palsy in the wider population.

Work work work

Lori works in person today and I have a run to Denver. Jag is studying along with Ty. Weather is headed our way and of course Lori is supposed to go get her Mom Saturday. Not sure if that’s the right decision or not. Lori will see how things are when she gets there.

I have a bunch of Zoom calls between now and year end. I think the boys are done a week from Friday. Jag’s birthday is the 17th and Dad’s tomorrow. That’s it for today. Hope everyone is well, God Bless.

Happy Birthday Mojo!

Mojo is 15 years old today! A few weeks ago we didn’t think he’d make it but he’s just fine other than his back end being weak and skinny. Today is also the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Most kids probably don’t even know what that is. Sad.

Jag’s car needs to go to Glenwood for an estimate today. Lori and I both threw our backs out yesterday morning but I’ll probably need to take it as he needs to study for finals. A big part of his birthday and Christmas will be getting his car fixed.

The Bronco’s almost won. In the end, almost means nothing but they did play better against the Super Bowl Champs.

We should probably get tested for covid although they now say 90% of all tests are false positives. Turns out the cycle threshold skews the tests by amplifying the markers too much. In short this means anything you have in your body, if multiplied enough, will show a positive. Take a molecule of anything, any dormant gene we all have, and then multiply it by 50 an it’ll appear you have the virus. Problem is it’s not multiplied in your body to that extent and the virus is basically dead or dormant. As of yesterday all States but one use any cycle threshold they want which is creating all these false positives. Finally yesterday Florida became the first State to require that labs write down the CT they use on all tests. Now this doesn’t mean some people aren’t getting really sick but it does mean the millions of people the news say have it, don’t.

They say in the U.S. we have 15 million cases with 285,000 deaths which is a fatality rate of .019 percent. And this figure assumes every case they say is covid is covid which we know is not true. Right now almost anyone that dies from anything is blamed on covid so let’s say the number is only halfway wrong which I think is still too high. Then the death rate is .0009. Pretty low. Yet some States, all run by democrats, are locking down all businesses and activity based on these numbers. People are rebelling, even Sherriff’s in California are refusing to enforce lockdowns. You can’t have the cure be worse than the disease. What’s the point?

Now on to the vaccine. 55% of New York Fire Fighters say they won’t take it. What’s that tell you? The Pizer vaccine is making women sterile and has other serious side effects including death. Hmm. Think we’ll wait a while before getting it. More to come here but scientists around the World are raising alarms saying the vaccine is not ready. Surprise surprise.

So there you have it. The takeaway is you still want to be safe, wash your hands, get good sleep and eat right. Vitamins like C and D help too, especially in Winter. If you’re old or have a disease, just like in flu season, avoid crowds where germs spread more easily. That’s it, hang in there, God Bless.
