Travelling

Today Lori is flying home and at the same time, Robin and Robert are flying to Denver. They’re headed to Cheyenne Wyoming for Cheyenne Frontier Days and a concert tomorrow night! They’re lucky as the weather the next few days should be nice with little rain in the forecast. Lori has to sit in Denver for a few hours and will get home around 8pm.

Jag has a final today and then I think is all done with summer school. Fall semester starts I think, August 21st. Ty moves in to his dorm August 17th. Today is the last workday of July. I need a good $400k worth of orders to come in today.

It’s nice and cool up here. It’s been a good summer with lots of rain and few fires. Everything has been pretty green all summer long. I was headed down to the farm today but will go next week instead. Ty stayed at Rykers last night. He’ll roll in pretty soon.

Time to get the trash out. Enjoy the last weekend of July and God Bless.

Denver

5:10 am now and I need to be on the road by 6. Hope to be in and out of Denver by 10. Lori is working hard. Yesterday cousin Debbie came over to help her out. I guess they spread about 25 bags of trash among the neighbors trash cans as the trucks out there will only take what’s in these special cans. Gotta love California. Hopefully today the front door gets replaced.

Jag is off today so he can study for his final tomorrow. Ty works at 7:45 and then is off for a couple days. He might go to Denver tomorrow for some things for school but should probably wait until Saturday as they’ve had pretty severe weather for the past couple days and will again tomorrow. I think if I’m in and out by 10am, I should be ok.

Time to get moving. Almost August, here we go, God Bless.

Ty’s roommate!

Yesterday we found out who Ty has as a roommate. It’s a kid from Littleton who is a hockey player and looks like a really good guy. At first Ty thought he was fresh out of the military. Not sure where he got that but we think that’s not correct. He’s a snowboarder too so they’ll have that in common. He sort of looks like the actor James Franco.

I talked with Tom yesterday who is doing well. He’s down 35 pounds! That’s great news. Bronco’s training camp starts today! Tom and I can’t wait for football. Lori finally made it to California after several flight delays. She worked until about 9 last night and will be back at it today. Dixie was super confused yesterday thinking she was on a train all day. Not sure where the train thing comes from but she’s adamant that she’s on one and can’t get off.

Ty works at 6:45 this morning and I’m off to the gym. I have to be back by 9 as the oven repair guy is coming. So, time to get moving, 6:28 am now. Tomorrow, I leave at 6 am for the dermatologist for a routine checkup and then am picking up six packs of two filets from my girl at the meat market for the freezer. Need to keep stocking up on stuff. I did make 3 filets last night for the boys and me. They were really good. Think I’ll cook them pork belly tonight. Enjoy the day, be safe and God Bless.

Off to Cal

In about an hour I’m taking Lori to the airport for her flight to Sacramento for a week of chores to get the house all fixed up and cleaned out. The new door is getting installed today and the appraisal is tomorrow. I was in and out of Denver by a little after 11 yesterday morning. I had about 5 stops in my loaner car before heading up the hill. Meanwhile my truck was getting an oil change and the tires rotated.

Jag has an opportunity to take a job as the Head of the Financial Dept. for CU Student Government or something like that. He can also work remote at his current job when he goes back to school if he wants. I told him don’t say no to the job you have until you know if you want to take the other one. Meanwhile Ty headed out around 2 and was home around 10.

Today I’ll go to the gym after dropping Lori and then I have a conference call with Illinois at 10. It’s almost 6 am so time to get moving. Hope everyone is well, stay safe, be well and God Bless.

Denver

6 am, need to be on the road in an hour. Jag made it up around 4 and Ty was home a few minutes after. Lori works today and has an MRI for her headaches at 4 this afternoon. Then she’s off to Sacramento tomorrow morning. I should be back by 1 or so if I’m lucky. Nice and cool today. We sleep with the windows open and boy was it nice last night. After today, no more long drives until Thursday when I have a dermatologist appointment.

Time to get moving. Bronco’s training camp starts this week! Football is back! God Bless and Go Broncos!

A day of rest, not!

Yesterday I tore down Jagger’s room and cleaned it like I cleaned Ty’s. Ty took off for his friends’ place and when I went into his room, uh oh, it was sliding back into oblivion! I immediately called him and asked what was up! He said, “dad, it’s clean”. Oh brother, apparently we have different ideas of just what “clean” is. I picked up his dirty clothes and wet towels off the floor and took down his empty food containers. He needs to wipe down his bathroom counter and make his bed this morning and put away his clean clothes.

Last night we hung out and did basically nothing. Today, after the gym, I am on the basement. Our friends Jeff and Tina had to cancel their party as Tina had a bad episode of colitis! The paramedics came to the house and gave her fluids and checked her out. I asked her if she was now going to join the club and she asked “what club”? I said, “the no drinking club”, to which she replied, “it’s not from alcohol, which it is 100% is. Tina can party with the best of them and needs at minimum, a break. We’ll see what happens. When you get to be in your 50’s and 60’s, you just can’t party like it’s 1999 anymore! Hope she realizes this before she does any more damage to herself.

Nice and cool up here today, around 75, perfect. Flash flood watches are everywhere as when a lot of rain comes down fast, in places where there were fires with no vegetation, you get flooding. Tomorrow morning I’m of to Denver to get the truck serviced and run a few errands. Hope to be back by 1.

A week from tomorrow is August 1st! Here we go. Tom will be getting his Christmas tree out soon, ha. Lori is off to Sacramento to get the house fixed and figure out how to get the remaining stuff out of there for most of the week. She’ll stay across the street at Marcie’s. What a mess. Time to go, stay safe, God Bless.

What’s next?

Today I need to decide whether to tackle Jag’s room or the basement. Decisions, decisions. Ty works at 7:30 and Lori and I will head to the gym. Yesterday we went around 4pm as we were busy in the morning. The farm is starting to kick into full production. I brought back all kinds of great food from corn to peaches, peppers like jalapeno and shishito, green beans, zucchini, eggplant, potato’s and more. All were picked yesterday morning around 6 am.

It’s a bit cloudy this morning with some showers forecasted today. The big news of the day was someone kicked in Dixie’s door at the house in Sacramento and broke into the house. They didn’t ransack or destroy anything inside, just pilfered through drawers and stuff. Instead of dumping drawers, they pulled them out and searched through them taking some costume jewelry. We think it was this homeless guy who has been sort of a guy that’s been coming around for years asking Dixie for money. Lori told him last year not to come back anymore but wouldn’t anyone else just rip things apart looking for stuff? We had the door nailed shut yesterday, put up fake security cameras and signs and a new door will be installed today. We have a full price offer on the house so we need to get this fixed asap. What a mess. Weird thing was it happened in broad daylight. That’s why we think it was Matt. He probably came by, and when there was no answer, he kicked in the door, or one of the losers he runs with did.

7 am now. Not much else happening. We’re getting Lori to the range for some practice as she too needs to make sure she stays up on her training. Jeff and Tina are having a party today and want us to come down but I just can’t make the drive. This week I was in Grand Junction twice and Boulder once and last Friday, Denver. I’m in Denver Monday too so no driving today.

That’s it, be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Moved

Yesterday we completed the move. Lori and I were off at 6:40 am, about 10 minutes after Ty went to work. We pulled into Boulder around 9:10. After unloading a rug, I headed off to Home Depot for a drywall repair kit. About when I arrived, Lori called saying they couldn’t find Jagger’s car! I immediately realized it was probably towed as he probably didn’t put on the sticker showing he was a resident. Sure enough, I was right. We tracked it down quickly and dropped Lori at the apartment before heading out to the tow yard. $300 later, we had Jag’s car back. To be fair, it was registered with the apartments, and we were still moving in so the manager is trying to get us a refund. Not Jag’s fault. He needs the sticker on when we’re officially moved in according to the rules. It was just a hungry tow truck driver scanning the parking lot at midnight last night. They shouldn’t have towed it. Without missing a beat, we kept working, loading Jag’s car and my truck before heading back over to his new place. By 1 we had unloaded and set up his new place. Lori and I then took off for home while Jag went back to clean the rest of the place up. By 4pm, he was done.

Lori and I pulled in about 3:30. 45 minutes later I was off to James house for cigar night. We hung out until 6:30 when I headed home.

This morning at 6, I’m off to the farm and will be back by 11:30. Then I’ll work around the house.

Biden has covid, hmm. Pray for him as Kamala is next in line, God help us. God Bless.

On the road again…

We’re off to Boulder to finish up moving Jagger into his new place, or actually, finish up moving him out of his old place! Hope to be back by 3.

Yesterday I tore Ty’s room down to bare bones and cleaned it from top to bottom. I even bought him new sheets, pillows and a comforter as his were gross. It took me hours to finish. I also did about six loads of his laundry. On top of that, Lori and I went to the gym after she went to get her hair fixed. I did something else too but can’t remember, ha. Oh wait, I hit Costco and Ace Hardware too! Oh and I washed our sheets, bam!

Ty stayed home last night. He was tired. He came home after work around 3 and fell asleep and when he woke up at 7:30, he texted his boss saying “I’m on the way, I overslept”! He thought it was 7:30 in the morning and he was late to work, ha! Mom said, we’ve all done that. Jag left for Boulder around 7 as he has class at 7:30 in the morning.

We’ve had good rain. Our neighbor sent us this photo of a rainbow coming right down on our house. They say that’s good luck! Make it a great day, God Bless.

Working early

Ty works at 6:30 this morning and Lori is off to Glenwood to have a few more strands of color put in her hair. Jag is going down to Boulder tonight and Lori and I will go down early tomorrow morning. We need to be out by tomorrow.

The govt. is pushing more shots for everything from vid to monkey pox. We’re calling monkey pox, Meghan Fox, as it seems you have a better chance of catching Meghan than the monkey, at least right now. I find it really hard to understand how people just line up and take some shot that’s basically unproven and has shown to have side effects. Funny as if it was 1960 or 1970, you could trust the govt. but not anymore. Wish you could, but the facts show different.

The farm is booming. I brought lots of fresh veggies home yesterday and will run down again Friday to bring some boxes up to try to sell at the meat market. Good rain yesterday and three small fires just west of us. Two were single trees and one was I think a few acres. Rain brings lightening and lightening can bring fire. All are out now. Temps are going to be in the 90’s for the foreseeable future. That’s normal for us. Thank God we live where we live.

In a month both boys will be at college. Then ten days after that, I’m off hunting. We’re putting together our 2023 hunt right now. Looks like Alaska for moose and maybe grizzly bear. It’ll be a ten day hunt in the bush. Can’t wait!

Time to go, be well, stay safe and God Bless.
