Brutal

Tough day yesterday, the drive down and up, the waiting for the game and then the game itself, ugh. Not sure we could handle a day like that again. I’m off this morning to have Lori’s snow tires put on and have lunch with Tom. Should be back between 2 and 3 and then Lori is making James and I Mexican food for the game. My neck is killing me from driving, the game, working out or something. Speaking of the game, it was so hot that every stitch of our clothing was sweaty. We were on the east side so no shade all game. We left at the end of the third quarter thankfully. This put us home around 7. Time to get moving, make it a great day, GB.

Broncos!

I woke up at 1:20 am wondering where Ty was. He had texted Lori he was staying at Nicks house and would be home by 8 this morning. That didn’t help my night, ha.

Lori and I just hung out after I dropped Ty in Edwards around 6:30. Where headed to Denver around 8:30 this morning. Should be home around 12 hours later tonight.

Our shower floor looks great. Ben will caulk it tomorrow morning and fix a few other spots in other parts of the house. Lori brought Dixie up for a couple hours yesterday. She seemed well although she couldn’t remember her name or Don’s. Just another day.

Time to go, be well and Go Broncos! God Bless.

Homecoming

Tonight is Homecoming for Ty. All next week is Homecoming week with something going on each day. Not sure of all the details but should be fun. Last night he went to the hockey game between Battle Mountain and Denver East. Jag has a football game today. Think Tom said they play USC.

Our shower looks great and today Ben is putting down the grout. He’ll be here from 10 to 12. I think Lori and I are going to the range today for some practice. Tomorrow we’re headed to the Bronco game. We’re going with Jeff and Tina in their Club Level seats. First up is brunch at some new restaurant in Union Station owned by Frasca of Boulder fame. Monday James is coming over as he’s a Raider fan, (I know, how do I let him in the house?) and we’ll watch the game. Lori volunteered to make Mexican food for us. He leaves Tuesday for concerts in California and then is in the studio. I’ll be pulling for the Chargers, ha.

It’s misty out with clouds hovering over the golden aspen trees. Soon all the leaves will be gone. I fired up the smoker yesterday to prime it and will be experimenting this week with some cuts of meat. I am in Denver Monday morning to have Lori’s snow tires put on and then I’m picking up a new Mac Book. After that Tommy and I are hitting Sushi Sasa for lunch so I’ll grab some meat from Edwards on the way up the hill.

Thank God the $3.5 Trillion bill was stopped. Bernie Sanders said two Senators shouldn’t be able to stop it. What Bernie doesn’t want to realize is it was 52 Senators that stopped it. He just says two as there were only two democrats. That’s how misguided the dems are, they don’t even consider the other party or half the Country. France came out and said no to the American woke culture. They declared as a Country that they will not allow that at all. And by the way, France is one of the most liberal countries in the World! Should tell you something. This crap has to stop. Only 16% of Americans are on board with socialism yet Biden, or should I say, Sanders and Obama or whoever is behind the scenes, continues to push this crap. Pray for our Country, God Bless.

October 1st

Here we go, three months left in the year and we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and at least four birthdays. It’s all downhill from here.

Yesterday it was 30 days since dear Alison passed away. We all miss her and it’s hard to believe it’s already been a month. Time flies.

Last night I was at James with the guys. We sit around and talk about things going on in our lives and the World. It’s actually really therapeutic for us and James calls it our fellowship. I was telling Tom how when you’re young you have a bunch of really close good friends but when you’re older you don’t have a bunch of guys you really consider as close friends. You know, someone you’d trust with your family or your wallet. These are good guys and our weekly get togethers bring us closer each week and are good for the soul. Wish Tom lived closer as I’d take him, he’d enjoy it. Been well over a couple years now and we’re a good group.

Ben our tile guy worked all day yesterday and is back at 9 this morning. Lori is sick with my cold. We’re suppose to go to the game Sunday but if she isn’t better, we’ll need to pass on this one too, ugh.

Dixie has been having a rough go for the past few days as she still thinks her mom is alive and that Don is too. She thinks she’s been in Oklahoma. Her dreams are running into her days, poor thing.

Last, thank God the Dems can’t agree on the proposed, America killing $3.5 trillion bill. There is so much wrong with it it’s hard to believe it ever had a chance. I truly believe God is looking out for our Country and World. I actually pray that this won’t happen and I don’t do that lightly. If you don’t know what’s in it, you need to get on your computer and read about it and then call your congressman. Robi, Kristin Simena in Arizona is one of two Dem Senators opposing this. You need to call her office and tell her you support her doing this. This is that important, please do so and pass the word.

That’s it, be well, stay safe, stock up, keep the faith and God Bless.

Dollar Tree

Here’s a sign of the times, The Dollar Tree announced yesterday things they sell are no longer going to be a dollar. They’ll now be $1.25 or $1.50. Wonder if they’ll change their name, ha. More good news, we’re all addicted to our phones as apparently we check them between 100 and 200 times a day, depending on age, which is every 5 to 10 minutes, nice. Wonder what it’d be like if all electronics were turned off for a week? no internet, cell phones, or tv. People wouldn’t know what to do, can you imagine? Could happen.

Suppose to go to Grand Junction today but looks like that’ll be tomorrow. Ty needs Jag’s suit for Homecoming. That would have been nice to know yesterday. Jag looks good and is doing fine. Says he wants a dog. No way, he’d be bringing it up here within a week.

There’s a feeling in the air among the people and it’s not good. Today the Dems are trying to cram through a multi trillion dollar package that will change America forever. It basically induces people not to work and to rely on the govt. God help us, enough said. Need to get moving so we can take Ty to school as we have a meeting with his school counselor. This below pretty much sums it up. God Bless.

May be an image of text that says 'EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT CONSPIRACY MINDED, SOMETHING IN YOUR SOUL HAS TO BE TELLING YOU SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT WITH ANY OF THIS!'

Off to see Jagger

Jag needs some clothes so I’m running to Boulder this morning to drop some off. He didn’t take many Fall or Winter stuff and he has some frat thing tomorrow so I’m helping him out. That’s what parents do, right? Ty went to the volleyball game last night and was home by 9. Lori is in Vail today and with luck I’ll be home by noon.

I made a trip to Frisco yesterday morning for some groceries. Then I met Ty at school at 1:50 and we went to the gym. He’s getting stronger every week as he recoups from his knee. Suppose to be cooler today. In the 50’s up here, nice. My buddy Matt is constantly trying to come up with a side hustle (that’s what you call extra money on the side, preferably mailbox money or money that just comes in every month with little to no effort) and tomorrow we’re meeting to try to get that farm/food thing from a few weeks ago off the ground. These things take time but this still looks promising.

No politics today but boy are we in a World of shit. Time to end this crap and vote these losers out. In the meantime we need to put up a hard stop to anything they’re trying to do. Remember, it’s not their money! Not sure how anyone can look at what’s going on and say, oh yea, this is alright. How’s that for no politics. I think pretty good, God Bless.

Time to stock up

Ok, it’s go time. Major stores like Wal Mart and Kroger and Costco are now out of numerous items. You’ve probably seen on the news how Christmas items will be hard to find. Don’t worry about that, worry about daily essentials like toiletries, over the counter medicines, certain food items, household cleaners and items and things like car parts such as tires if yours are worn and Def fluid if you drive a diesel. Even if you can find these things, prices are going up. We’re spending about 20% more these days just to live. Girls, don’t forget your makeup. Enough said as if you don’t believe me now, you probably never will.

I’m almost all the way back but did tweak my back yesterday loading up stuff into my truck. I’d like to make a dump run by Thursday but we’ll see.

Ty is going in early today and I’ll be taking him. Lori is working in Edwards and Jag is super busy. I was going to Boulder today but will now go tomorrow due to work and my back. Cold weather coming, get ready. They say it could be a hard winter.

Last, if you’ve never written or called your Senators of Congressman, now is the time. Biden and his cronies are trying to jam through what they say is a $3.5 Trillion dollar spending package which experts say is more like $5 Trillion. Forget the few good things as the new taxes on everything from food to anything we do in our daily lives is unconscionable. No one has even read this thing and here’s the kicker, Biden yesterday said it will cost zero dollars, ha. This will 100% ruin our Country for generations. Please call or email your representative today! If you’re unsure, just ask yourself how the govt. has helped you personally in the last decade while taking in record tax revenues. Thought so, now go make the call. God Bless.

Still fighting

Ok, I have officially turned the corner but am still not 100%. I’m now at the coughing up crap stage which is 100 times better than the stuffed up head and nose stage. My voice is all deep and raspy too. No gym yet but I think I’ll take a walk today. I did make it to Costco yesterday before the game but that was about it. They are rationing toilet paper, even up here with customers only able to buy one large pack. I also picked up a few packs of cold medicine, Advil and Bayer Aspirin. The lady just rung me up twice on the TP so it was two transactions. Cooler weather is headed our way and today Lori works from home. I haven’t seen Dixie in a few days as I didn’t want to get her sick. So far Lori has avoided whatever I have but Ty wasn’t feeling well last night. Hope he’s ok this morning. He was a little shit yesterday with a bad attitude.

We did find a couple new fun shows on Apple TV. The Morning Show and Ted Lasso are both great. I am going to see Jag tomorrow or Wednesday to drop off some stuff he needs. He’s super busy with two mid-terms this week.

Hard to believe Friday is October 1st. The Broncos won but good thing we didn’t go. No way I should have made the trip. I’d probably be headed in the other direction with my cold if we had gone. Lori slept in Jagger’s room again last night so she didn’t get sick and so she could get some sleep. Time to get moving. Make it a great week and take care. I can’t overemphasize how there are shortages on just about everything from car parts to cleaning supplies to food. The average person hasn’t really experienced it yet but it’s coming. In the U.K. they called out the Army over the weekend as there is a huge gas shortage and people are fighting over petrol. Please believe that shortages are coming to you and get ready. Once you can’t find what you need, it’s too late. God Bless.

Turning the corner

This morning I think I’m getting better. It’s hard to tell when you’re up all night on and off blowing your nose. I think Tom had something like this 3 weeks ago or so. It’s all a head cold with a stuffed up and runny nose and a sinus headache. Nothing else. Nothing covid related so they say (but who knows right?) as I don’t have a temperature or shortness of breath or loss or taste or smell. Just a good old fashioned head cold. Now for Lori, yesterday Harley was playing with her and she jumped up, Harley that is, and bonked her in the head tweaking her (Lori’s) neck! Of course, right? So we were quite the pair yesterday. Lori went to sleep in Jagger’s room as I was blowing my nose every 15, 30 or 60 minutes, who knows. I’m starting to cough stuff up so hopefully I’ve turned the corner.

Sadly we’re not headed to the Bronco game today. We were taking Jeff and Tina so we gave our other two tickets to them to take someone else. So bummed. Hope we win. Jag is busy with lots of work. I’ll go see him this week, probably Tuesday.

Over the weekend Costco and other stores said to expect a toilet paper shortage, hmm. Just a word of caution, by the time they tell you there’s a shortage, there’s already a shortage. We have a couple of hundred rolls but will top off our supplies next time there. Maybe we’ll make a quick run this morning. Lori has two new friends in the backyard, two little bunnies! She’s super excited and she really likes them. This means she throws carrots out for them daily.

Hard to believe in less than a week it’ll be October. We’re going to the Broncos game next week with Jeff and Tina in their seats. They have half a season in Club Level which is a whole different experience. Better be all better by then!

My new debit card arrived yesterday. Took about a week, thanks hackers. Losers. What a pain. Ty went to the mountain bike race yesterday which his buddy Will was riding in and then was out until about 12:30am. Lori keeps reminding me he is 17. Guess that’s it, time to get moving, I hear Lori blowing her nose, uh oh. I probably gave her my cold. Figures. I’ll be hearing about that one for a while! God Bless.

Rest

Last night we had a nice dinner but in hindsight, I should have postponed it. It set me back in kicking my cold and now the game tomorrow is in jeopardy. I feel pretty crappy today with a stuffed head and on and off sore throat. I’ll decide later today.

Ty has a photo session this morning at 10:30. Lori will take him while I rest. I ran around yesterday shopping while Lori got Kristin to the airport and had a crazy work day. Ty made it home around 9 last night.

Think I’ll lay low today. We had to have our oven fixed yesterday and Lori cooked a chicken in the crock pot which today will magically turn into chicken soup. Hopefully that’ll kick my cold. Take care, God Bless.
