Football

More games today, but first to yesterday. Everyone thought we, CU, would get blown out, and it sort of looked that way to start. But we hung in there, and if the offensive coach would have called less running plays down the stretch, we would have had a chance to win. We lost by 7, 48-41, to the number 8 team in the Country. With two minutes to go, they just ran the clock out. If we had a couple minutes left, we might have forced it to overtime the way we were playing. Still, after last year, we showed up, played well and things look good for the future.

Today the Broncos play at 11. We’re going to James as he’s smoking some ribs that’ll be done at halftime of the Raider game in the afternoon. We could go for both games but I think we’ll watch the Bronco game here.

It’s 6 now and Ty is getting ready. Chandler will pick him up at 6:30 and then we’ll see him Wednesday. It was a nice day yesterday, but the cool down is coming. It’s going to be in the 60’s all week for the highs, and in the low 30’s all week for the lows. It will get below freezing for sure. The colors are peaking right now and its beautiful outside. Great time of year.

That’s it, time to get going. Not sure if we’re going to the gym as Lori’s head was hurting pretty bad yesterday. Hope it’s better today. Mom used to say, getting old is hell and she was right.

That’s it, have a great day and God Bless.

Cooling down

At 3:40am I woke up and turned off the A/C. It was 68 degrees in the living room, nice. It’s 6:04am now and we’re taking Ty to work in 30 minutes. Then we’ll hit the gym before heading home to get ready for the CU, USC game. Jag is up and getting ready to head to the stadium for pre-game and so he and Ava get good seats. USC is ranked #5 in the Country so it will probably be a tough day, but there’s always hope!

Lori worked most of the day and I ran some errands including picking up Ty. Chandler, his manager, just moved to Eagle so she’ll drive him home and take him to work tomorrow! She’s a great girl.

The government might get shut down today. Could be the best thing that happens to us. There will be some short-term pain, but we have to stop spending money we don’t have and stop giving Biden money to promote his twisted agenda. If they pass a short-term CR (continuing resolution) the next time they need to give the govt. more money will be at the holidays and of course, all our so called “representatives” will cave in a heart best so they can go home for Christmas. Shut it down until the Dems agree to stop the wasteless spending. Hell, they shut the Country down for two years with Covid! Can’t be any worse.

Time to go, have a great day and weekend. It’s so beautiful up here with the colors changing. All the trees and mountains are painted golden yellow and red. We love Fall. God Bless.

Back to work

Ty works at 7, so we’re up early. I think today we’re having 4 new aspen trees planted. We picked them out yesterday up at our landscaper’s yard. They’re already 15 feet tall or more. Craig, our landscaper, also put in some new shrubs to replace some that didn’t ever really grow.

The moon was so bright last night it was like daylight outside all night long. Can’t remember seeing one that bright. Harley is limping this morning. Lori thinks it’s from jumping over the fire pit chasing her ball yesterday. Hopefully she gets better or off to the vet we’ll go.

Time to get moving, have a great Friday, be safe and God Bless.

Thursday

Lori had the fellows arrive yesterday. These are doctors from UCLA, Manhattan, Virgina and other places that are here to learn from Dr. Braxton. They’re here until Saturday. Jagger had interviews with JP Morgan and Blackrock yesterday and Ty stayed in Denver another day and comes home today. Meanwhile I worked around the house and had an appointment at 1 and today, I have a dentist appointment at 1.

We have the cleaners coming, as well as the landscaper to replant some plants that died and Orkin today. Not sure if we have cigar night but if so, I think I’ll skip it. Lori and I will go to the gym this morning in about 15 minutes.

Good debate last night. Nikki Haley looks like she could win. Lori and I like her a lot and think we’ll support her now. It’ll be interesting to see how the Dems attack a woman who has been a UN Ambassador, a Governor and a State Senator. She’s smart too.

Meanwhile Biden looks like he escaped from the memory care section of an assisted living home. I saw many at Dixie’s old place who were more together than Biden. So sad.

Time to get moving, take care, enjoy the day and God Bless.

Down and up

I was in Denver by 9 and out by noon, just the way I like it. Too many people down there, it’s a zoo. Ty gets home today and I’m making dino bones which are six inch long beef ribs. Time to fire up the smoker. Lori works in Vail today, which is good as she doesn’t have to make the drive to Frisco.

Nice weather up here, mid 70’s to low 80’s. Today I’m cleaning some more today in the basement. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and a couple doc appointments next week. Only three workdays left in the month. October is right around the corner.

Time to go, 6:36 now. Just not a lot more to say this morning. Make it a great day, enjoy and God Bless.

New email

So, not sure what happened to all my emails. Comcast won’t work on Outlook so after a few hours with Chip, who is an IT guy, I deleted it off Outlook. I can still access it via a browser but decided to open a new email account for all my secure stuff like credit cards, banking, taxes, etc. My new address is dougfugate77@gmail.com if any of you want to write that one down. It took me most of the day to transfer or send emails from my folders to the new email and then drop those in new folders.

I’m off to Denver today to meet Toby who sold a bunch of 375 ammo for me and has a bunch of cash. Then after a quick stop at Mile High, I’ll head home. Ty comes home tomorrow. Jag has a test today and Lori works in Vail.

More shootings in Denver, nice. I don’t even like going down there anymore, if I can help it. Used to be such a nice city. Hard to believe people didn’t realize what would happen by opening the borders, not enforcing laws, villainizing the police and endorsing bad behavior. It’s really not that complicated or difficult to fix. Start by enforcing the laws on the books, close the border and put all politicians on term limits. You can thank me later. As for us, we’ll stay up here in our bubble and when we go to the city, we go heavy. If you’re not sure what that means, ask me sometime and I’ll explain it.

Have a great day, stay safe, take care and for God’s sake, do not get any more vaccines! That’s a whole different story. Here’s Jagger and Eva from dinner the other night! God Bless

Back at it

Time to get stuff done, winter is coming. Yesterday after going to James and Addy’s for part of the game, (we left early, ha), I cleaned the garage. It was a historic loss. Once home, I moved all the stuff from one side of the garage to the other so Lori could get her car in. Meanwhile she headed to Glenwood to get her hair done.

Jag and Eva left for Boulder right after we made it home, it was around 4. They picked up Ty and dropped him at the bus in Vail on their way. Nice and cool last night. Won’t be long now until the weather really begins to change.

I’m missing a ton of emails on Comcast. It’s like they just went away. Hopefully I’ll recover them today. I always put critical emails in folders though, so all the important stuff is saved, for the most part.

Up early at 5 as we’re used to getting up to take Ty to work. Tomorrow I’m off to Denver. Should be back early afternoon. That’s about it. Hopefully they fire our defensive coach today, we’ll see. Something needs to happen, and somebody needs to go after yesterday, God Bless.

Fun time

Last night dinner was fun, not talking about the game which was earlier in the day. Now I didn’t expect to win or anything, but it was pretty much complete domination. Everyone needs to remember, we won one game last year. As of today, we’re 3 and 1, which is a huge accomplishment.

Ty was off work at 4 but decided to stay home so it was Lori, Jag, Eva and me for dinner. We had a good time, but Lori and I decided that we need to find a new favorite restaurant. The bill was almost $800 and like most restaurants, they try to do too much with certain dishes that doesn’t always work. We did have fun though and Eva is great.

Today after dropping Ty at work, we’ll head to the gym and then we’re going to watch the game at Addy’s at 11. Jag and Eva will probably stop by on their way back to Boulder to say bye. Yesterday they strolled downstairs around noon, so I don’t think we’ll see them before we go, ha.

Won’t be long before they get rid of Biden. The daily gaffs are becoming too common and even the mainstream news is now covering them as well as the endless stream of illegals coming across the border. Those two things will seal his fate. As I’ve said, what a mess.

That’s it, time to get moving as it’s 6am now and we’re out of here in 30 minutes. Have a great Sunday and who knows, maybe the Broncos will get on track and beat the Dolphins! God Bless.

Jag’s home!

Jag and Eva rolled in around 7 or so and Harley was at the door to greet them! Eva is a doll! She’s smart, cute and tall. They seem like they’re a really good fit for each other. Ty worked 11 hours yesterday, from 7am until 6pm. Lori and I cleaned around the house, went to Costco and the grocery store and of course, the gym.

5:50am now and we’ll leave in 40 minutes to drop Ty and hit the gym again. At 6:30 tonight, after the CU game and Ty’s work, we’re all going to Splendido in Beaver Creek for dinner. Should be fun but the last thing I need to do is eat more as I’ve been eating way too much the past few days.

Westher is good and we managed to get our large mirror hung in the entry way yesterday with the help of a couple guys who helped build our house. We bought it probably 4 months or so ago and it’s been in the garage waiting to be hung. It’s big but looks good.

Time to get moving so I can wake Ty for work. Have a great day and Go CU! God Bless.

Jag coming up!

Tonight, Jagger and Eva are coming up. We’ve never met Eva so that’ll be fun. They’ll be here until Sunday. Ty works at 7 today, tomorrow and Sunday, and I guess from now on going into the off season. We pretty much get up between 5 and 5:30 these days anyhow, so no big deal.

Yesterday, Lori, Addy, James and I went to the range for 3 hours shooting. Lori did really well and after a few minutes all her muscle memory came back to her. I have a new carry piece that shot really well. I’m super happy with it. You need to run at least 500 rounds through any new gun with zero FTF’s, (failures), before you can trust the firearm. After that, Lori went to pick up Ty and I ran up to cigar night with James and the guys. I think we’re going to the range again Sunday after the Bronco game. We’re all going to watch the game first and have chili dogs and stuff at Addy’s before shooting.

The house is clean and sparkling. I found out it’ll be 8 to 12 weeks to get the new garage panels so I’m going to move all my crap from one side of the garage to the other so Lori can park her car inside, as it could be mid-December before it’s fixed.

Watch closely as they’ll be taking Biden out soon. He’s messing up even more than usual daily. The guys in charge, (Obama, Susan Rice, etc.) should be ashamed for using him the way they are. It is elder abuse. Even the New York Times used those exact words yesterday. Hard to believe this can happen in 2023 and even harder to believe the American public continues to fall for it. We are a hot mess as a Country.

5:40am now, time to get Ty up. We almost turned on the fireplace this morning. It was cool in our room last night as we sleep with the window open. Trash day today so time to clean out the fridge. CU is supposed to lose big time to Oregon tomorrow. We probably will but there’s always a chance! That’s the great thing about sports, you never know. Jag and I were talking and said this would be a good game to bet on as we’re something like 21-point underdogs. We don’t gamble, thank God, but this would be one game I’d throw a few bucks at, ha.

Have a great day and weekend. Take care, stay safe and God Bless.
