6:30, which is late!

Lori made it home about 12 hours ago and we all managed to eat a little dinner before the night was upon us. We’re tired which is usual as we can never seem to get enough sleep. Jag’s game was predictably cancelled and I picked both boys up around 3:30. I managed to get down and back from Denver by about 9:30 in the morning to swap out cars. Today we’re all really slammed with the kids needing to leave at 7:30, so time to get moving.

We’re all up at 4 am on Thursday to get Lori to the airport for her 8am flight to Sacramento. Hope we don’t over sleep! Yesterday Adult Protective Services showed up at Dixie’s meaning someone called them on her, super. They were satisfied she was fine but said they’d be checking back on her. This is not a good thing as once you get in the State’s system, you’re in. On top of that, California is not a good State as they are ripe with government overreach. Thankfully the girl Lori arranged to go over each day was there. Dixie needs someone there everyday, maybe not 24 hours a day, but most of the daylight hours. Lori will know more later this week.

Meanwhile my Mom tripped over a small table after the Green Bay game the other day, but I think she was just not looking where she was going. She’s ok but also needs to be careful. You two girls need to take care of yourselves!

We need to get moving so that’s it. I have calls starting at 9am and lasting until about 1 this afternoon. Have a great day and watch your step! God Bless

Down and up

I’m off to Denver, hopefully in about 30 minutes and then hope to be back up by 9:30 or 10 at the latest. We have fresh snow but that’s pretty much a daily occurrence around here. Jag is supposed to go to Walden today for b ball, but we’ll see. So far it’s still on.

Well, the Packers lost and I think the Steelers did too. I didn’t watch the second game as we had stuff to do around here. We have a busy week so time to run. Have a good day and week, GB.

Heavy snow

We had planned to go to Denver yesterday and have the same plan today but both look like they’ll be cancelled due to the snow. Yesterday Jag was gone all day for a basketball game where he held a 6’10” kid to 4 points. Next up was Ty’s birthday party which was pizza at Pazzo’s and then a movie. Afterwards I drove a few kids home in the snow as they otherwise would have had to take a bus at 9:30 in a snowstorm. Only up here would parents allow their 13 year old kids to take a bus home that late in bad weather. It’s a different World living in the bubble. Lori and I sat at the bar at Nobu and had some sushi for dinner while the kids were at pizza and then Jag and Zach joined us after they made it home from Hotchkiss. Both are still sleeping as is the misses.

Today two good football games are on. We’re hoping for the Packers and Steelers to both win. Lori cleaned a bit while I was gone but it’s a daily chore up here so we have plenty to do since we’ll be home.

Tomorrow I need to take the loaner car down to Denver and pick up Lori’s car. Later next week, on Thursday, Lori will be flying out to Sacramento until Sunday night. We’ll drive her down around 5am Thursday and pick her up around 7pm Sunday night putting us home around 10 weather permitting. Oh well, she needs to go help Dixie take care of some things so you just do what you have to do.

I’m staying away from politics but it’s really disappointing to see some people tweeting or posting “Trump, not my President”. Well I have some news for those people, if they live in the United States, yes he is your President, like it or not. Look, no one knows what’ll happen but you have to hope for the best and as Lori says, if you don’t like it, try to make it better, instead of being an obstructionist, right? I just don’t get these people. They’re all for supporting the President (when it was Obama) until they don’t like the President! They’re so hypocritical but blindly ignore the truth as it doesn’t fit their agenda. Frankly I just lose all respect for these type of people. Sadly if someone I do business with or hang out with posts something like that, and I see it, I’ll just do business or hang out with someone else, as their so delusional and caught up in their own pity party which I don’t have time for. Once again, get over it, Trump won, Hillary lost, now let’s try to make it work, good God, please help us!

Home safe

My flight took off on time and landed in Denver around 7pm. It was an airplane a day for 3 days in a row. I had to make a quick stop to pick up Ty’s snowboard at the car dealer and was home by 9:30. We were going to go to Denver this morning to swap the loaner car for Lori’s car but will do that tomorrow instead. Jag has basketball in Hotchkiss and leaves in about an hour and 15 minutes.

Lori cleaned up the house and was a busy girl while I was gone. Guess we’re supposed to get some snow today but it should be clear tomorrow. I’m going to try to find him a dresser at the consignment store today. Guess I’ll run, next week Lori goes to Sacramento and the following week I’m in New York. Thankfully I fly First Class most of the time. Have a good day, GB.

Not so sunny Seattle

It’s foggy and drizzly up here which is expected in Seattle in January. I landed without incident around 10am and headed to the office. We had a good day of work until about 5pm when I went over to check into my Airbnb about 4 blocks away. For those of you that don’t know, Airbnb is where you rent like an apartment or space in someone’s home. I found a quaint beach house with the basement for rent for $80 a night. It was built in like the 1940’s and the couple upstairs are nice and went to the University of Colorado years ago. Still it’s not the Marriott! The tv doesn’t work and the ceiling is so low I have to hunch over everywhere I walk, but it was only for one night and close to the office.

Today I’ll work until about 1:30 and then head to the airport with Brian. He fly’s back to Phoenix and I’m of course headed home to Denver.

The big inauguration is today. Of course the sore loser folks will try to disrupt it I’m sure. Nice, really nice. Again, how would they react if we all would have acted this way when Obama was elected. Guess we know who the adults in the room (or Country) are.

I found out last night that Lori fell on the ice when she brought me my wallet the other morning. She of course landed on her shoulder. The did an ultrasound to make sure the screws and stuff were ok in her should and luckily they are. Everything happens when I leave town!

I woke up at 4:45 which is 5:45 in Colorado so technically, I slept in! I have two more hours to kill here with no tv before my partner Kay (pronounced Ki, with a long i) picks me up. If it was up to me, I’d be at work already.

Jag has a game tonight and I’ll miss it. I think it’s in Kremmling and then another tomorrow in Hotchkiss. Not sure about that one as I need to take the rental car down and swap it out for Lori’s car which is all fixed.

Guess I’ll run, hope all is well, have a good day and great weekend and God Bless.

Up to Seattle

In about 2 hours I’ll be on my Delta flight to Seattle. I always fly United but they don’t go direct from Las Vegas to Seattle. I had two great meetings yesterday and then went to dinner with our friends Allan and Ali who were in Italy with us last year. We ended up at Scarpetta which is the top restaurant in town and a big supporter. They always bring us too much food as they know Allan and Ali really well as of course Allan is like the number 2 man in town when it come to booze.

Vegas is still Vegas with lots of inebriated people and money flowing everywhere. I land in Seattle around 10:30 and then will work all day today and tomorrow until I catch a 3pm flight home. Lori and the boys are fine. Time to run so I can shower and head to the airport, GB.

Back in the air

I decided last night to stay home and get up early to drive down this morning for my flight. Only problem is, my alarm never went off! I managed to wake myself at 4:30 am and was on the road from Vail to Denver by 5. About 7 minutes into my drive, I realized I forgot my wallet! I called Lori and asked her to find it and by the time I made it back to the house, she was standing down on the road with Mojo, in her pj’s, with my wallet and toiletries. I made it to DIA by 7am and am now on my flight with about an hour and 5 minutes to go.

Yesterday Ty had a so so day as his teacher forgot it was his birthday. Ty, being too nice, didn’t say anything. His Mandarin teacher remembered and had the entire class sing Happy Birthday in Chinese to him. I told him we’d have a do over on Saturday when we have his party.

Lori’s car needed a part from Michigan to fix the taillights so by buddy gave me a loaner for the week which I left with Lori. Good to have friends in the car business.

Jag played an incredible game last night. He must have had 6 or 7 blocks while guarding guys taller than him again. He was also 4 for 6 in shooting and was fouled a few times but didn’t get the call. Next game is Friday and then again on Saturday. We go to Walden next Monday!

I have a 10:30 am meeting and then another at 3:30 and then dinner at 7. Lori is still swamped. I don’t know how she gets done what she gets done. She and we, all need a break! I do know that! GB

Happy Birthday Ty!

Today Ty is 13 years old, whoo hoo! Hard to believe that both our boys are now teenagers. As you all know, Ty is a great kid that cares for others more than himself. He’s always concerned about how other people are being treated. Today is his special day. We’re all so proud of him!

I’m off to Denver to get Lori’s car fixed and with luck will be back up here by 10 or 10:30. Then I need to pack and work a bit before Jag’s basketball game at 4pm. Then I’ll drive down to the airport for my morning flight. Lori’s sore all over from too much work, especially her neck. She has to slow down and take a break.

Guess I’ll run as I need to be on the road by 6:15am and it’s now 5:39. Again Happy Birthday to Ty! Hope all’s well, God Bless

Great football

I should have gone to Vegas a few days ago. I thought for sure on Saturday both home teams would win and that yesterday both road teams would win. Turns out, that’s just what happened. The only thing that could have made the weekend better was having the Patriots lose but I also am not a fan of Houston’s QB, so either way, that was a good game too. Yesterday though, was a the best day of football with two games that were thrillers and went down to the wire. With Green Bay beating Dallas with 3 seconds to go, you couldn’t have scripted a better finish. Next up with the Chiefs (who I hate) losing to Pittsburgh, in epic fashion, the day was great. Next up is two games next weekend and then the Super Bowl 2 weeks after that. Go Pack!

I was going down to Denver this morning to get Lori’s car fixed but will do that tomorrow instead. So that means I’m off to Denver tomorrow morning, then back up here for a basketball game and Ty’s birthday and then I’ll drive down to the airport tomorrow night, after dinner, for my early morning flight on Wednesday. Not looking forward to driving to Denver twice but it is what it is.

Lots to do today for both Lori and I. Jag gets to sleep in as his school starts at noon and then he has a ball game at 5;30. With today being MLK Day, it’s a service day at school. Jag and the other basketball players are tutoring the lower school this afternoon on b ball. Not sure what Ty is doing but it’s something.

Not much snow up here but I guess they have a little in Denver. I’m going tomorrow instead of today as I have too much work to do to get ready for my trip, not because of the weather.

Time to get my lovely wife up and moving. Her arm is slowly getting better. Dixie sounded a bit better last night and might go home today, but we’re not sure. At least she sounds stronger.

That’s it, time to run, again, Go Packers! God Bless

Basketball

IMG_3643Yesterday we had another good game. Turns out once again, Jag ended up guarding an upper classman who was also a starter on their Varsity squad. Jag held him to only 1 basket and some free throws. Also once again, he was hit, this time in the mouth, and had a little bloody lip. This time though it wasn’t with an elbow, as this kid just smacked him with his fist. It was during the game and the refs missed the call but Jag called him out and said something like, “knock it off” to which the kid replied “fuck off”. Now hearing this, whether right or wrong, Jag said the same back to him and it was game on. On the next possession Jag and this kid were bumping and elbowing each other hard all the way down the court. I yelled to him from the stands to let it go but the ref had already called a foul on Jag. Things settled down and he could have handled his verbal response a bit better but good for him for standing his ground, against what was once again, and older and bigger kid. I told Jag the trick is if you’re going to bump and elbow, make sure you’re on offense as then usually the other guy gets called for the foul. For the rest of the game, Jag was in the kids back pocket not letting him even get the ball much less get a shot off. We won by about 20 points. Next up, our Varsity team crushed them 70 to 44. We watched a bit and Jag enjoyed seeing one of our guys who is sort of a mentor to Jag, who was the same age as this kid, dunk the ball in his face a few times. With Jag being the tallest on our team, he ends up having to guard the other teams best player who is usually an older, bigger kid who plays down to Junior Varsity. In the long run, this will make Jag a better player but is tough on him. The coach said if he had five Jaggers, we’d be undefeated. I don’t know about that but I do know Jag is becoming a stronger player every day and is getting better in all facets of the game. Tomorrow we have another game and then Tuesday another and then they’re in Hayden or Meeker on Friday, and someplace else on Saturday. We are 1 and 0 in the conference, whoo hoo! We did stand back to back to see who is taller and as of yesterday, we’re exactly even. I told him to watch out though as I’m still growing too! Ha

Today Lori and I both have some work to do and need to go to the storage unit to get my suitcase and take down our Christmas stuff. We’ll also hit Costco. Then we have the two good football games. Go Pack!

Dixie spent the night in the hospital again but is doing much better. They don’t want to send her home until she has 24 hour care, so her and Lori and Kristen are trying to figure that out. They have a great place that’s like an apartment, a few blocks from her house although she may just get someone to come into her house to help out each day. In any case, she needs some extra care.

I leave Wednesday am for Vegas and then will fly to Seattle from there on Thursday, and then will fly home Friday, landing in Denver around 7:30 pm. Then I’m home for a week before heading to New York for dinner on the 31st. On that trip I land at 2 in the afternoon, go to a dinner meeting, catch some sleep and fly home at 7 the next morning, ugh. Then the next week I do the same in Houston on the 7th and 8th.

So time to run, Go Packers and God Bless you all.
