Denver

Headed out at 7 this morning. Hope to be back by noon. Lori is in Vail today and Ty is back at work. It’ll be in the 70’s today but rain is coming in for the weekend. Jag is studying away and only has a couple weeks of school left.

Not much else going on other than the same old crap. Things are coming to an inflection point. We’re getting to the point where people can’t afford to survive anymore. Of course, the gov’s solution is to pass more laws. Not sure how people with 9 to 5 jobs make it these days.

5:39am now, time to get moving, GB

What a game

Last night was a game that’ll go down in history, at least in Denver. We played horrible most of the game but erased a 20-point deficit and came back to win on a jumper with no time left on the clock. The best thing was Ty was there! He Face Timed me for the last minute or so and the place was going crazy! It was a late game that started at 8:10, but I knew better than to give up on them, no matter how far we’re down, and go to sleep. It was one of those moments that if you saw it, you’ll never forget it. Go Nuggets.

Yesterday we finished up with the paint job inside the house. They did an incredible job, and it looks better now than when it was a brand-new house. Also had the sprinklers turned on. I met up with Mark and Andres to hang out for a bit around 4. Mark has been in and out of town for the past month and has to go to Seattle to move his daughter into a new apartment on Thursday. Good to see him.

Lori was home early for her; I think around 5. Today she’s in Edwards. Ty will drive up this morning from Denver. I’m headed to the gym and will probably go hit some balls today. For now, that’s it, time to get going, 6:33am. God Bless.

Back at it

Here we go, another week. The last full week of April! Hopefully all the slush and wet snow are gone for the season. It was warm up here yesterday and it looks like a warm week ahead.

Ty is going to the Nuggets game tonight, fun. Our painters will finish up today and our landscapers are coming by at 3 to turn on the sprinklers. Lori is working in Vail today and I’ll be working around the house.

Yesterday we went walked Harley a couple miles, then went to the gym and then went to the range to hit a bucket of balls. Lori did a bunch of work on picture books for her mom’s service in the afternoon and I watched the crazy hockey game.

Lots of useless laws being proposed by the govt., locally and nationally. The main issue is they think they can legislate problems away. That never works. Just turn on the news.

The big news of the day is Tommy is going to the Rolling Stones concert with all of us on June 2oth! Jeff and Tina want to sit with us, so Tommy and his buddy John are buying Jeff and Tina’s tickets at Club Level. It’ll be a blast and a once in a lifetime experience. We’re really happy he’s going.

That’s it for today. Get outside in the nice weather if you can. God Bless.

Sunday

Up early, almost 6am now and it’s still dark outside. Yesterday we ran some errands and hung out around the house. We were trying to get to our closets but that didn’t happen. We did make two trips to Costco and Ace Hardware. Guess we should have made a list. Think it’s warming up today, so we’ll probably go to the range. No snow up here at all. Lots of heavy wet snow in Denver.

Hopefully winter is over. I made reservations in Sacramento and Denver for our hotels and rental car for Dix’s service. We’ll fly out on the 9th and be back the night of the 10th. We need to drive down and stay by the airport on the night of the 8th for our 8am flight. Jag has an 11:40 flight the same day so he’ll land a few hours after us.

Shit is crazy these days with the people in Washington D.C. apparently living in an alternative universe. Enough said, God help us.

Guess I’ll get going, 6am now. Have a great day and GB.

Almost done

Man does the house look good. Amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do for the inside of a house. It looks like a brand-new home. Monday they’ll be back to finish up the baseboards and then we’ll be good to go. Orkin also made it out and took care of our mini ant problem. Rob, our guy, also went around the whole house and sprayed.

No snow up here, just a little rain sometime during the night. Our golf lesson was good. Lori is now hitting the ball a good 150 yards! We’ll take it easy today as our backs and my wrist are a little sore.

Not sure what we’ll do today. Ty is working of course. We’ll probably head out to the gym after coffee. Have a great Saturday! Until tomorrow, God Bless.

Looking good

The house inside is halfway painted and looking good. So is our golf swing, sort of, ha. We had our first lesson yesterday with David and are out again today at 11am.

Looks crappy in Denver but not so bad up here. No rain or anything, just a little bit cloudy. We found some ants coming up through the grout where it ends next to the door that goes into the garage. Always happens this time of the year. I think we have a handle on them as I put out around ten of those bait traps and they’ve been taking poison back to their nest for a day now. They don’t really go anywhere, and we hate killing them, but you can’t have them in the house.

We had cigar night last night which was fun as usual.

Our painters have done such a good job, for such a good price, that I’m going to have them come back mid-May to do our room and bathroom and at least Ty’s room upstairs. It’s rare when you get good guys, that do-good work, at a good price. My buddy Steve at the gym really hooked us up.

Time to put the trash out. Oh, did you hear, Biden said his uncle was eaten by cannibals twice during WWII, bones and all! Truth is, according to the Army, he was shot down over the Pacific and drowned. Not surprising that he continues to make crap up. The surprising thing is how most of the media continues to cover for him. I really don’t understand how anyone could vote for him. I also don’t understand how all these students can support Hamas and bash Israel. You can thank TikTok and George Soros for these organized protests everywhere. Both are hell bent on destroying America and seem to be doing a pretty good job, as people are stupid enough to fall for it. God help us.

Have a great Friday and God Bless.

Green

Green is a good color. It seems to be getting more popular these days. Up here, green is the first sign of Spring. When you see things turning green, we’ve turned the corner. We’re getting close to things turning up here, but I think it’ll be another week. We’ll take the moisture though as in a few months, we’ll be begging for it.

I had a trip to Denver yesterday for work and some fun. For the fun part, I met up with Dan, our golf club guru that has been fitting everyone from pro’s to the DU golf team to regular people like me for the past 40 years. It was really insightful to learn all that goes into determining the right clubs for a person. It’s down to a science these days using measurements of your swing and body to select the right club head, shaft of the club, grip, length, weight, and more. Even though I didn’t understand everything, most of it made sense. After hitting some balls with a club with a thing on it that measures everything from club speed to loft, the your smash factor, and utilizing some type of monitor, Dan sent me to a range 10 minutes from his house with half a dozen demo clubs to see which I preferred. I took a number of club heads and a wrench and changed things up as I was trying different combinations. After letting him know what felt the best (that’s subjective of course) he said he’d get back to me. Interesting. Up here, Lori and I have our first lesson with David today, who is a former PGA Tour pro that is going to turn us into the professionals we think we are in our head, ha. Wish us luck.

Looks like Ty has a new job starting mid-May at one of the top restaurants in Vail! Should be a real money maker, but it could be a nighttime job. Maybe he’ll get the day shift. Jag is working away wrapping up his fourth year of college. Hard to believe it went so fast.

5:54am now and time to go to the gym before the painters get here at 9. Have a great day. I think we have cigar night tonight, we’ll see. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Painting

Yesterday after fixing some cracks and dings, our painter started taping off the main room so we can have it painted today and tomorrow. Harley hung in the bedroom and outside with me.

Today Lori is in Frisco and I’ll be here. Ty works again at 8 and Jag is wrapping up his last few weeks of school. It warmed up yesterday and today will be even warmer. I think we have a little rain coming in closer to the weekend.

More shootings in Denver. A 14-year-old was shot in Lakewood and is now in a coma. This time at 11th and Garrison which is not too far from where we used to live, maybe 2 or 3 miles, nice. It was also reported that Denver has let in 40,000 illegals from Venezuela, nice. I read where Colorado is now referred as to being behind enemy lines. This means we’re now deep in blue territory. They’re referring to Denver and the front range, not the majority of the State. But the State or politicians in Denver, make decisions that affect us up here. That’s the problem. It’s like we need to split the State in to two. The news was just talking about the 90 million dollars in budget cuts and called it the Newcomer Budget. What the hell is going on? These people are illegals! What a mess. We’re really considering moving.

That’s it, time to get going, have a great day and God Bless.

snow

Vail Pass east bound is closed, wow. Nothing here at the house except a little rain which came through last night. They say all this is wrapping up this afternoon.

Ty works this morning at 8. He came by yesterday to grab his work clothes and golf clubs and then stayed at Madi’s. I have our painter and drywall guy, Rubin, showing up at 9 to do some work on the main floor.

We bought our plane tickets for Sacramento yesterday. Thankfully I had a $2300 credit so it only cost us about $200 for the four of us. We finished taxes best we could yesterday. Lots of calls with the bank and the attorney to finish everyone’s returns. Tom and I were lamenting how much we hate the day. What a scam it is. Hard to believe it is what it is in 2024.

I cleaned a bit in the garage yesterday and will try to do some more today. Think I’ll try to get to the gym first before Rubin shows up at 9. It’s 5:25am now.

We’re so excited about golfing. Researching and getting some of the gear we need is fun too. I found a limited, no longer available golf bag for Lori, that’s super fun, on Ebay. We’ll see if I get it or if someone outbids me. Tom says he’s going to get out too and hit some balls. Should be a fun summer.

That’s it, time to get going. Have a great Tuesday and God Bless.

Tax Day

Today is the day. I think I’ve said all that needs to be said regarding taxes in the past few weeks, so I’ll leave it alone. Super frustrating though.

Yesterday we made it to Denver by 10:30 to pick up Ty’s clubs and by noon were at Jeff and Tina’s for Lori to try on her Derby dresses. Of course, Lori slid right into a dress and hat and is all set. When Lori was searching the internet for Kentucky Derby dresses, Tina popped up, in the exact dress Lori is borrowing, in Vogue Magazine from a few years ago when they went to the Derby. Tina didn’t even know she was in it, ha. Anyhow the dress looks great on Lori, as they all do.

We were home by 4 and after a quick bite to eat and watching the end of the Masters, Lori took Harley for a walk while I put painters’ tape all over the walls where the repair guys need to fix things today. They show up at 9 to start fixing small cracks and stuff from 2 years of the house settling.

Lori woks in Vail today and I’ll be here at the house. I’m in Denver Wednesday when she’s in Frisco. Ty went rock climbing yesterday and wants to golf today, but we haven’t officially joined the course yet. We did get some fun golf clothes yesterday. Mostly for Lori, and of course again, she looks super cute in them, even though I haven’t seen her in them yet.

Hope Biden doesn’t get us into a war. Lots of tension and crap going on in the Middle East.

It was really warm here yesterday and we slept with the windows open. I think Vail is getting snow this afternoon and early tomorrow, but you never know. Time to get moving, 6am now. Have a great day and God Bless.
