The Weekend

This morning after dropping Ty at work, Lori and I are going to meet up with my buddy who is the Sheriff of Eagle County as we’re volunteering this morning and helping deliver turkey dinners to families in need. Each year the department does this. Deputies deliver what are called “dinner boxes” around to certain houses and drop them off. We said we’d help, so we don’t know where we’re going or who we’re dropping food to, we’re just helping.

Yesterday we were in Denver by 9. After dropping some wine samples for a steakhouse chain with my buddy Schultz, Lori had her doctor appointment and then we stopped at the mall and found a few presents. We then went to Marczyk’s, a specialty grocery store, for some goodies for next week. We’ve known the owners, Pete and Barb Marczyk, for 20 years. Barb, Pete’s wife, and I were remembering a Bronco Patriot game we went to probably 20 years ago where Pete brought a completely New England themed meal, as that’s where he’s from. Those were fun days. Then it was up the hill after picking up my two turkeys at Edwards Meats. I always get a smoked turkey and a regular turkey. No one really likes turkey but me, so I think we’ll cook my Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow! On the way home I stopped to wash the truck in Edwards (not to be confused with Edwards Meats) and then we picked up Ty who was off at 3 as it was slow.

Today after volunteering, we’ll work around the house. Lori has been up since 4am cleaning out kitchen drawers as she couldn’t sleep.

CU and the Nuggets lost last night. The Nuggets game was close while the CU game wasn’t. It was just one of those nights and our QB was knocked out early. Tons of taunting by the other side and horrible missed calls by the refs. Still, we’re way better than last year. Adversity makes you better too so next year, look out! Unless you’re Joe Biden, ha.

Time to go, have a great weekend, God Bless.

Off to Denver

Yesterday morning we had some good snow. Early on a few bad accidents caused huge backups on the highway, so, Lori’s planned trip down was a no go. She rescheduled for today and being the great husband I am, I said I’d drive her down. So, this morning we’ll drop Ty at work at 7, and then head down the hill. Hope to be back by 1 or so.

After my calls yesterday I headed to James to meet up with the guys for a cigar. Good to see James as he’s pretty much done with touring until next Spring. Lori and Addy went to get their nails done while we all got together.

Tonight we’ll have a good dinner and then watch the CU game and the Nuggets game. Hope they both win. That’s it, time to get moving. God Bless.

Back to work

Ty made it home around 8. Today he’s back at work at 7 meaning for the next four days we’re up at 5:30 to leave at 6:30. It’s like we have a new job too!

Yesterday I cleaned the house after running my errands. I still have an earache but am getting better each day. After the gym this morning, I have a call with the people that handle concessions for the University of Colorado at 9 and then another call at noon. Lori is running down to Denver for a quick doctor appointment. Hopefully she’ll be back by 2.

Still nice up here for a few more days. I did get a little Christmas shopping done. I found the Salute to Service Denver Bronco Sweatshirt Tom wanted, but when I talked to him last night, he told me he bought one! Super. Guess I have a new sweatshirt now, ha. Oh well, I’m sure he’ll enjoy the full length, one-piece wool underwear with the drop drawers I got him. There like the ones our grandpa used to wear, you know, the red ones.

I can’t even go into politics its so disgusting. We laid out the red carpet, literally, and lined the streets of San Francisco with Chinese flags without an American flag to be seen. Apparently we can get rid of all the homeless people and clean the city up in a couple days when a communist leader comes to the U.S. but can’t do it for our own people. It was like the movie Red Dawn in 2023. Biden made more gaffs, which is him really speaking the truth, including mocking a free press when they came into the room to the point where his handlers cut off his microphone and ushered the free press out of the room. It’s like he was commiserating with the Chinese President about having to deal with the press and then was mocking freedom. Man are we in trouble. Even those sitting next to him, like Secretary of State Blinkin, were shocked and worried about something. Check it out.

I’ll leave it at that but time is running out. We’re being sold out right in front of our eyes. God help us. Wow.

Time to go, have a great day and may God Bless you all and God Bless and help America.

Getting better

Not sure what I had but I’m finally getting better. Was going to go get Ty in Denver this morning but he’ll take the bus up instead. That’s good as I don’t feel like making the 4 hour drive anyhow.

Did a little shopping online yesterday. Trying to find a few things for a few of you but a lot of stuff is sold out, especially in certain sizes. I had one thing arrive yesterday, but it was too small so back it went. That’s ok, part of the fun is finding the right gift for the right person.

Lori is in Frisco today. Still nice weather up here and is supposed to stay that way until at least next week. Maybe a little snow up high tomorrow morning. It’s been a great Fall and will make things much more tolerable once the snow arrives.

Jag had a big test the other day and of course did well. They leave Friday am for Portland and get back Tuesday am, really early, like 7 or 8, and then will drive up for the week. Lori has the front of the house all decorated with fresh garland wrapped around the steel beams with big red bows she made from ribbon after watching a YouTube video. It looks very Christmasy.

I have a couple errands today to mail some things and then need to go to the grocery store. Might try to go to the gym first, we’ll see. Big win for the Nuggets last night. Hope the Broncos keep it going.

Oh, one more thing. I keep forgetting to tell you all to go to Jase Medical, www.jasemedical.com, and order up an antibiotic kit. You answer some questions online, and then a doctor reviews it and then, (after you pay, ha), they ship you, from a licensed pharmacy in Utah I think, your emergency antibiotic kit. Good insurance to have. We’ve done this for years and a few times were glad we had some extra Cipro or a Zpak. That’s it for the day, Thanksgiving is a week from tomorrow. Hope everyone is well, stay safe, and God Bless.

Big win

Last night the Broncos beat the Bills. If I was a gambler, I’d be 2-0 the last two weeks and would have made some big money as I predicted both wins against teams that were heavily favored. Of course, if I did bet money, we probably would have lost, ha. Anyhow, huge win for us. Crazy game too. It’s early but I have the same feeling about this week’s coming game against the Vikings. t

I’m about 90% back. Lori came home hunched over with a bad back but seems to be almost all better too. I have a call at 11 but otherwise will take it easy today.

I need to get on Christmas shopping. Tommy of course, is done with everything wrapped and under his tree. I’ll try to do some today.

That’s about it, time to go. Have a great day, GB

Kicked it

Think I avoided the worst of it. Was feeling on the edge yesterday but seem to have turned the corner today. I’m a little stuffed up with a small headache but doing pretty well. Hopefully the worst is over.

Yesterday Marty and I drove up to the East Fork of the Williams River where we hunted for years to look at some cabins. The outfitter one was a mess. No way worth pursuing. One down the road was nicer and set up well but too much money for what it was. It was a good drive though as we have a lot of memories from that area.

I spent the rest of the day taking it easy trying to sleep from about 1 until 4. I think my neck was sore from working out Saturday am. It was a big workout. Ty comes back up Wednesday. He was obviously the carrier of the germs.

Nice weather up here. It was in the mid 50’s up north yesterday and warmer down here. When we arrived up by the cabins it was 19 degrees but soon up in the mid 40’s. We drive up and over Dunkley Pass which is 9800 feet in elevation to get there, and it was much cooler up high. In the shade, the snow was on the ground but in areas where the sun hit, all was clear.

Looks like Biden is using Federal agencies to manipulate elections. They refuse to release details but are basically instructing agencies to identify democratic voters and go search them out and register them or “get their ballot” while ignoring anyone not voting democrat. No real surprise here as how else would the democrats win. Nobody approves of them, yet they keep winning, hmm.

Time to go, have a great week. Be safe, and think for yourself, God Bless.

Fighting it off

We’re trying as hard as possible to fend off Ty’s cold but not sure if we’re going to make it or not. I’m stuffed up and I think Lori has a sore throat. Ty was home yesterday but is working today and then going to Denver. Not sure he’s all better but I’m fine with it so he isn’t around here getting us sick if he’s still contagious. I’m going to make him wear a mask when I drive him to work in 45 minutes.

After dropping Ty at work, Marty is picking me up and we’re headed over Dunkley Pass to look at an outfitter business by Pyramid Peak. It has a cabin on it and is on 35 acres and butts up against national forest land. An 85-year-old guy owns it and he’s just done. It comes with 320 user days in the national forest which is the main value. They want something like $800K, so it’s worth a look. Could be a money maker. Of course, you’d lease out the outfitter business portion of the property. Should be back before noon.

Yesterday after the gym we went to Costco and the hardware store. Then we were around the house for the day.

My workout was pretty strenuous. I did 17 sets of chest presses (like bench press) mixed in with biceps, triceps, shoulders and a little bit of back. I’m already sore which is unusual for me. I’ll take today off obviously.

Lori is going to Glenwood to get her hair done this morning so we’ll both be back about the same time. That’s it, time to get moving, have a great Sunday and God Bless.

Sick

Ty ended up not working yesterday as he is down and out with a bad cold. I guess Maddie’s sister had it, then Maddie and now Ty. We’re doing all we can to stop the spread with him as neither of us want it.

I was in Grand Junction by 8:15 at Alpha Logistics. These guys build out ATV’s, Side by Sides, Sea Doo’s, snowmobiles and more for the military and other government agencies like the forest service. Super cool stuff they’re doing. After breakfast and a couple more stops, I was headed home by 10.

At 6, we met Maddie’s parents for dinner. We were having them over but with Ty sick, decided to go to Wild Sage down the street. They’re fun but 20 years younger. Natasha, her stop mom, is from the UK and funny. It’s good restaurant and my buddy Casey owns it. He’s a neighbor a few blocks away and also owns Cut (the meat market) and the Drunken Goat, up in Edwards.

Happy Veterans Day! Thank a veteran for their service. Their sacrifice cannot be overstated.

The CU game is at noon. Jag and Ava are going. Ava is no longer going to Spain for second semester, it’s official. Good choice.

I’m working out at 7 with my trainer. We’re doing a “Big 70’s” workout which is like the workouts guys like Arnold did back then. Ty is still sick. Lori just went to check on him, so he’ll be staying home.

That’s it, time to get moving, make it a great day and Sko Buffs! God Bless.

Grand Junction

Headed out this morning to Grand Junction. Should be back by 1 at the latest. Tonight we have Maddie’s parents coming over for dinner. Ty works from 7 until 5.

Yesterday we went to the gym and then worked most of the day. Around 3:30 I met the guys for Cigar Night. James is in Detroit for shows tomorrow and Sunday night. He’ll fly right back after the show ends Sunday.

He texts while he’s gone to keep us up to speed. Today at the Ford plant, he drove the new Lightening truck and then had a ride with a professional driver around their test track in the new Dark Horse Mustang. 500 hp. Fun time.

Not much else going on to talk about. Warming up, nice for November. Have a great day, stay safe and God Bless.

Good morning

Up early taking Ty to work and hitting the gym. Yesterday Marty and I made it to the Springs by 10:15. We were there until about noon and took the Grenadier through the paces driving up some good elevation and on the highway. Here’s a picture of my build, Scottish White is the color.

Super cool vehicle, much more impressive than Marty and I thought it’d be. Our builds are scheduled for January of 24 so we’ll get them probably around April of next year. Great leg room too. We’re already planning a 2 week fly fishing camping trip from Colorado up through Wyoming into Montana for next Spring.

Today we’ll work around the house. Weather is getting better. It snowed more in Denver and the Springs yesterday than up in the mountains. While I was gone, our window cleaner from Carbondale came and put the Christmas lights up on the house. He does lights for businesses in the off season. They look great. They’re commercial lights custom measured and made for the house.

Time to get moving, have a great day and God Bless.
