We made it out to The Bluffs around 9am. It was snowing in Denver at the hotel but 25 degrees out on the plains. After a quick breakfast they had ready for us, (biscuits and gravy) we headed out. After a great hunt with our same guys, it was back to the lodge for homemade white chicken chili and salad with homemade brownies which was great. It was a great hunt as usual with good friends.
We left at 2 in the afternoon with the snow blowing hard. On the plains when it snows like that, it’s pretty much a white out. We cruised along fine until reaching Vail Pass as when we arrived, they had just closed the Pass. Lori was leaving the hospital in Frisco where she worked for the day and met us at Whole Foods, and we followed each other back to Marty’s to hang out until the Pass opened. Around 7:30 it opened up and we took off in two cars for home. It was slow going but we made it. I dropped James around 9 at his house and Lori was about 15 minutes ahead of me in her car. Long day.
Good news yesterday, our insurance company totaled Ty’s truck! This is great as we now don’t own a vehicle that was smashed but they’re also giving us a check for the difference between what was owed and the value.
Ty also received an email saying Montana State was offering him a financial aid package. We don’t know how much it is yet as we can’t get into the email, but this is great news too!
Lori wants to go to Denver this morning for a derm appointment, but we’ll see. Time to get moving, that’s it. Big day, God Bless.
We made it to Denver by 4 and hit one of our local cigar shops. 90 minutes later my buddy Schultz picked us up and we headed downtown for dinner. It was a great time and meal. Then it was back to The Brown Palace to Churchills, named after Winston Churchill. This is one of the only places you can smoke inside. It’s a grandfathered cigar bar that’s been here forever. We called my buddy Rob who now makes the Metallica whisky and he joined us for a few more hours of hanging. James and I are rooming as they screwed up our reservations and Marty took the single room as he snores too loud for either of us. We thought we heard him 5 floors below us!
This morning we’re off pheasant hunting. Should be out there by 9 and headed home by noon. Hope it doesn’t snow on us. Lori and Ty are fine, more tomorrow, GB.
This afternoon, James, Marty and I are off to Denver. We’re having dinner tonight and then pheasant hunting in the morning out on the eastern plains before heading home tomorrow around noon. We’re staying at The Brown Palace as James has never been there. Dinner is at STK which is owned by a good friend of my good friend. He’s been trying to get me there for over a year. They have restaurants all over the Country. Should be fun.
Lori worked all day in Vail. Ty and I went down to her office so Dr. Braxton could clear Ty from concussion protocol so he can get back to lacrosse. He’ll go to practice today. Still waiting to hear what’s up with his truck.
Gas prices are climbing daily. So is just about everything else. The media is spinning the Ukraine thing to benefit Biden. Don’t believe everything you read or hear. For example, check this out,
The NY Post, ABC News and others ran the photo below with a story saying, “even the former Ms. Ukraine had taken up arms to fight the Russians”. How inspiring right? Well, the problem is, it’s not true. She herself came out and said she is not fighting the Russians but is just a normal girl who posted a pic to help inspire people.
Of course none of the news outlets published a retraction or correction, hmm.
This is just another example of the rampant misinformation the news is spreading to get everyone to do anything to support the decisions by the administration regarding Ukraine. Example, Gas prices are going way up and due to all the suffering, we see on tv, most are now convinced that they’ll suffer almost anything to support the war, including $7 gas.
Now no one wants any women or children to be killed but you have to question everything you see or are told as the people in power are trying to manipulate you. God help us if fighter planes from a Nato country are given to Ukraine and then Russia pulls us into war. We should be deescalating this thing, not escalating. Think for yourself!
See below,
Hmmm, God Bless, read on.
In February 2022, a photograph of a woman holding a weapon was widely circulated on social media as if it showed former Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna taking up arms after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine:
Both of these pictures truly show Lenna, who won Miss Grand Ukraine in 2015, but the picture on the left does not show Lenna taking up arms after Russia’s invasion. This photograph shows Lenna with an airsoft rifle.
After Russia launched an unprovoked attack on Ukraine at the end of February 2022, Lenna posted a photograph of herself holding her rifle along with the hashtags #standwithukraine and #handsoffukraine. This led many to make the assumption that Lenna had actually joined the Ukrainian army, but that’s not the case.
When the picture went viral, Lenna posted a follow-up message to explain that she wasn’t actually in the military and that her post was just meant to show support Ukrainian forces.
I am not a military, just a woman, just normal human. Just a person, like all people of my country. I am also a airsoft player for years. You can Google what #airsoft means.
More snow, again not a lot, but enough to ice up the roads. Think we get a break until Wednesday night, then another blast. This morning Ty and I are running down to the doctor before school to see if he’s cleared from his concussion. He seems to be coming down with a cold, ugh. He went to Batman last night and said it was really good.
Lori went and saw her mom yesterday. She had to unpack a bunch of stuff as Dixie thought she was house sitting for someone and was getting ready to go home. Then she took a nap and woke up at 5pm thinking it was morning.
Cloudy outside right now with maybe a couple of inches at most. Not sure it’ll warm up enough to melt until tomorrow.
Latest rumor is Putin has terminal cancer. That might not be good as then he really doesn’t care what he does. Hope this mess gets straightened out soon. Time to go, be well, stay safe and take care. God Bless.
No snow this morning. So far, it’s missed us. The sky is pretty much blue up high so we’re hoping we luck out.
Ukraine is still a mess. One interesting development, covid seems to have vanished! Haven’t heard anything about it or seen that nut Fauci since the war started. Even Worldwide on the news, it’s hard to find anyone wearing a mask or any mention of it. Hmm.
James made it home yesterday and we hung out for a bit. He might come over for dinner with us tonight for a home cooked meal. Good trip for him. He brought me back some swag from the tour and a cool lighter from the cigar shop in San Francisco. The three of us go hunting Wednesday for pheasants.
Might take Lori to the range today. Steve placed third in the match down at Cameo yesterday. He has the Arizona State Championships next weekend.
Kind of boring with no football going on. In a week or so free agency will pick up. Tom knows the exact dates, think it’s like the 14th or something.
That’s it, keep your cars and trucks full! Better safe than sorry. God Bless.
Ok, it did snow. Not a lot, maybe an inch or an inch and a half. They say more tomorrow but we’re hoping it’s not too much. Lori went to pick Ty up at lacrosse around 7:30last night and the roads were pretty bad. Not sure if Denver was hit or not. Jag said it was still nice around 8 last night in Boulder.
Marty and I picked up James, Castor’s, Marty’s and my elk racks from the taxidermist yesterday afternoon. They look nice. No place to hang it though. Guess it can go in the garage with the other four guys.
I think Ty is cleared for lacrosse, so he’ll start practicing this week. A bunch of elk just strolled into the yard. They paw through the snow to get to the grass. Weather doesn’t bother them a bit.
Should head out to the gym but I worked out really hard yesterday. Might take a break today, still deciding. That’s it, have a good weekend, God Bless.
All’s good on the farm. Should be a good year. All seeds, boxes, fertilizer and everything else needed is ready to go. The only thing we’re short on is mason jars for some canning. Think we found a pallet in Denver.
Snow tomorrow and Sunday. We might be in the eye of the storm and will hopefully end up with not as much as the surrounding areas.
Rumor has it that we might get hit with some cyber-attacks from Russia. I talked with Annette yesterday who said Serena had even heard about it. Glad to hear people are aware. Anything can happen at any time, always best to be prepared.
Oh, breaking news! Looks like the vaccines were not really all that good for you after all. Surprise surprise. Apparently they do change your DNA as quick as 6 hours after being vaccinated and they exasperate, or make worse, any disease in your body, dormant or not. This explains all the people we know who suddenly came down with cancer or diabetes or something else after getting the shot. This should surprise no one as almost everything the govt. has ever told you is good for you, is bad. I pray this doesn’t have mass consequences for everyone and as is somewhat isolated. Of course, if you’re one of the people affected, it doesn’t matter how few people there are. Point here is, question authority. I said all along, just because someone tells you something or worse yet, you see it on tv, that doesn’t mean it’s true. God help us.
I’m headed to the gym and not going into politics today. No point, nothing’s changed. Our leaders are still inept, and Eastern Europe is still a mess. Think I’m headed to the range today. Was maybe going to Denver today but will probably go Monday.
Hope everyone is well, take care, be safe and God Bless.
Off this morning to work on the farm. In a few months we’ll have fresh vegetables being harvested weekly. It’ll be nice to have fresh food that is locally grown with zero pesticides. We’re going to sell shares to people on a limited basis with the extra we have after we all take what we want. Right now, we’re looking at delivery up valley twice a month. Food, especially fresh grown food, is at an all-time high and in huge demand right now. I suspect the way things are going in the World and with the supply chains, things are only going to get tougher to get.
Lori is at home today while Ty has school and Jag is working away at school. We hope Jag comes up this weekend, but the weather is supposed to turn Saturday so we’ll see. Hopefully this is one of the last weekends with snow but don’t count on it.
Biden and his band of dummies are frankly unbelievable. The World is abandoning Russia and Biden acts like we’re leading the charge, yet we’re actually following Europe’s lead. The other day we finally decided to follow Europe in banning flights. We’re also still buying 700,000 barrels of oil from them each day! All he has to do is restart the Keystone pipeline and allow drilling and we’d easily produce 1 million barrels of oil a day here at home. But he’s beholding to the progressive wing of his party for some reason. Say what you will about Trump, but we were energy independent and in fact had a surplus and sold oil on the open market. What really kills is we’re at the table with Russia and Iran negotiating letting Iran have a nuclear weapon. Are you kidding me? You think Putin is unstable, wait until Iran gets the bomb. Don’t know about you but our family is at Defcon 4 meaning prepare for just about anything to happen on any day. Now whenever we leave home, we make sure we have a get home bag with us no matter where we go. Can’t get much worse. Enough said on this.
So nice yesterday with the temperature around 60 degrees! A couple more days until the snow comes back. Marty and I had lunch yesterday. Good to catch up with him. James is back Monday, and we go hunting Wednesday. Time to move. Had a good shoulder workout yesterday. I’ve never been stronger in my life. Make it a great day, get ready for anything. Take care and God Bless.
Lori and I made it to Denver to get her car and made a few other stops. By 1 or so we were headed up the hill. As soon as we left the dealer we turned around and went back as her tire pressure gage was reading low! Turns out they needed to reset it, hmm. We were home by 4 and then went to work around the house. Lori then went to see Dixie, who called 30 minutes after she left asking when Katie was coming home to sleep. She sometimes calls Lori Katie who was her sister. She thought she was at her grandmother’s house. So sad as things are a little worse every day. It’s hard on Lori more than anyone.
Ty went to a hockey game and was home by 10. He has late start today and still has a bad headache. We need a fresh start with Spring right around the corner. Hasn’t been a great start to the year with all going on in the World and Ty’s wreck. Jag had a final last night. Hard to believe he’s out on April 28th! We’re trying to go to Arizona March 18th, we’ll see.
Time to go as I’m working out at 7 and it’s 6:10. Marty has an appointment in Edwards at 11:30 and Ty has to be at school by 12 so we’re having lunch. Tomorrow I’m in Grand Junction working on the farm to table deal we have going. Fresh veggies are at a premium these days with all going on.
Yesterday was a busy day. I stocked up on some pantry items, 100 pounds of dog food and some cleaning supplies. Today we’re running down to pick up Lori’s car. Things are going to get worse before they get better with this whole Ukraine thing. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Putin won’t stop and certainly won’t quit.
Ty has a concussion. He met with the athletic trainer yesterday and has to meet with her daily for the next week. The next few days should be warm. Hopefully the worst of winter is over.
Time to get moving. We slept in as it’s 6:30 now. Hope to be back by mid-afternoon. God Bless.
