Back on the road again

It took the entire day, but Ty has wheels again. Lori and I waited until around 10 to leave putting us at the dealership right around noon. We were out of there a little after 2 and then met Jagger and Ava in Boulder at Whole Foods, to load them up on some groceries, and have a quick bite to eat. Ty’s 2014 Audi is a good car but needs to go back in for service as there’s a fan or something that’s louder than it should be. They put in a new battery and after Ty’s downpayment, he’s financing about $7K. He wanted to only finance $6K, but the minimum you can get a loan for is $7K, so we put down a little less than we planned. Ty is going to pay it off in 90 days most. He’s super happy and understands he has to make sure there are no mishaps this time around.

I started a Z-Pak this morning as I’m tired of messing with this cold. Ty has a little bug too, so we’ll probably get him on one as well. He works at 7:30 this morning, so he’s up and showering.

8 degrees here right now but the warmup is coming. Should be nice for the next few days at least. Can’t wait to get down to Arizona on Thursday.

The sun is coming up here at 6:30am. Time to get moving. Have a great Sunday and God Bless.

More snow

Again, not a lot at the house, but good snow for the mountains. I think we’re going to try and go get Ty’s car. We’re watching the news right now trying to see how bad the roads are.

Yesterday we hung out at the house after going to the gym. I’m still kicking my cold. Just some congestion in my nasal cavity. Nothing in my lungs. I ran to Costco yesterday while Lori had a Zoom meeting. She then went to pick up Ty.

Better get going so we can get ready to take Ty. Have a great Saturday and God Bless.

Snow

Had a little snow last night. Not much, less than an inch here, but enough to postpone our trip to Denver to get Ty’s new car, until tomorrow. We found a low mileage 2014 Audi A4 for him. He’s putting down like $10K and will have about $6K in payments plus tax. He’s planning on paying it off in 2 or 3 months. Good for him.

Still kicking my cold. I have a deep voice but no headache, chest issues or anything else. No fever either. Just a little stuffy nose and a hoarse voice. Trying to decide if I should go to the gym or not. Might just hang home this morning.

Busy at work, but all good. No cigar night last night. Several of us were out of town, a few others, like me, were under the weather and then we had the snow starting. I’m off the smokes for a while as after our Super Bowl party, I’m kind of smoked out.

Jag and Ava are going to Jack’s for dinner tonight to celebrate Valentine’s Day. They were too busy during the week. I think Lori and I will see him Monday as we’re in Denver for an appointment.

That’s it for the day. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Halfway through the month

Today marks the halfway point of the month and hopefully winter. Six weeks to April 1st which can still bring snow but is also the beginning of warmer weather and springtime. Bring it on.

I’m kicking a cold, which really never developed. Hopefully it’ll go away soon. Lori worked in Vail yesterday and I decided to drop by with some flowers, wine and boxes of cookies, for her two PA”s who are single and don’t have a boyfriend of husband. Lori said they were sort of sad sine it was Valentines Day. She said they were super appreciative.

Lori came home to flowers and a new pair of tennis shoes as hers were worn out with a hole in them. Ty went to see Madi last night and was home by 10:30. No snow and it was almost 50 degrees yesterday! We might get a little in the next couple days, but I think most of the snow will stay up high. There are some low hanging clouds outside though.

That’s about it, time to get moving. Make it a great day and God Bless.

Valentine’s Day

Lori works in Vail, Ty works at 8 and I’ll be working from the house. Yesterday was a whirlwind with lots going on. More of the same today.

We booked our room in Scottsdale and are staying at the Omni Resort and Spa which is on about Tatum and Lincoln. That’s a few miles from AJ’s, the grocery store that we always went to when we would visit Mom in Scottsdale. We still shop there whenever in town. We found a really good deal, so we grabbed it. With Spring Training games starting the day after we arrive, we weren’t sure how packed things would be. On Friday night, we’re going to dinner at Vincent’s on Camelback. This was one of our regular special occasion spots with Mom and Dad when we were kids. The weather looks great, 75 degrees every day, with no rain. We can’t wait. Sorry we’ll miss Robi and Bobby who will be in Florida.

Still recuperating from Super Bowl weekend. I’m back on my strict workout plan and will be working out extra hard for the next week.

We’re just staying home tonight. We thought about going out to dinner, but restaurant food is so salty, plus everywhere will be packed.

Received our Bronco Season Ticket invoice yesterday. Tickets went up again! Not really surprised, as everything from taxes to food to energy and more have all gone up. You can thank the Democrats. And they want more of your money! We’ll still renew them as you can’t get them if you lose them. Plus, the boys enjoy going to a few games and we can always move the others.

6:30 am now, so time to get going. Have a great day and God Bless.

Back in the groove

Yesterday I had my fuel filter replaced and checked out a car for Ty. I also dropped a new backpack for Jagger at his house in Boulder. It was a quick trip as they fixed my truck in less than two hours, at no charge. They should have fixed this last week, so after I complained, my service advisor said he wouldn’t charge me.

We’re still recuperating from the weekend. Lori is sore from cooking, hosting and cleaning. I’m trying to lose the weight from eating, smoking cigars and then more eating. I haven’t even dared to get on a scale and won’t for a couple more days, ha. It was a great time. Here’s our group.

Front row, Ken, Mark and Marty, Back left, James and me, Back right, Andres and Clark. Missing Davy and James Rush. James Rush had to leave early as he has two little kiddos.

Fun time, but no way I can even look at a cigar for a few more days. Same with most of us, ha.

Ty works at 8 so time to get moving. Make it a great day and remember, tomorrow is Valentines Day! God Bless.

Great Party!

What a blast, great game, great party, with great friends. Although I would have like to see the other team win, with the last minute touchdown by Kansas City, I won the pool on our board for the final score which was $200! Cha Ching!

Lori had decorated the house which looked great and the food, as always, was amazing. We always use disposal aluminum pans to cook the enchiladas in and nice plastic plates and silverware so clean up is easier. By 10pm, Lori and I had the house cleaned up as if nothing had happened.

Ty had his friend come over and Addy brough Carter who is still on crutches recovering from a torn meniscus. Other than that, it was the usual guys and wives. We’re a great group and super close. Jag made some good food, I think homemade pretzels and some other stuff, that he sent a picture of.

Doug had to run out and couldn’t finish, God bless.

Super Bowl

Here we go, kick off in 9 and a half hours. Still stuff to do. Lori made 3 large pans of enchiladas, 2 cheesecakes, a smoked sweet corn dip, and a bunch of sides for the 16-pound brisket that Mark is bringing for street tacos. We’ll have three kinds of queso, a nacho bar, and other stuff like guacamole and chips and more. Friends are bringing stuff too, like Rice Krispie treats, more sides, and I’m sure other treats. Hope it’s a good game.

Lori, of course, has a bit of a sore throat. I heard her coughing last night and she was freezing in bed, so I turned up the heat to 74 last night which almost felt like a sauna. Hope she can kick it. In any case, she’ll tough her way through it as she always does.

I ran lots of errands yesterday, washed the truck, and cleaned up outside, to get ready for the big game. Ty is coming home at noon from Madi’s.

No snow, kind of cloudy out, up high, so all good. No further snow in the forecast. It’ll be cold, but I have two construction heaters hooked up to propane tanks out in the cigar lounge.

That’s it, time to get moving. 7am now. Have a great day, Go Niner’s and God Bless.

Party Prep

Lots to do today. Yesterday at 10:30 I took off, with about 10 minutes notice, for Denver. My buddy Toby flipped a shotgun for me so I ran down to get the cash. I was literally in Denver for 5 minutes. Then it was back up the hill. Traffic was fine which made it easy.

After getting home for an hour, I took off to meet Marty at a restaurant where I was meeting Mark to meet his close friend of 40 years. This guy has over 100 high end restaurants in the Middle East, Europe and the U.S. I’m now the guy redoing his wine program from top to bottom. More on that to come.

Then Mark, Marty, Clark and I went for a cigar before heading home. Ty took the bus to Madi’s to spend the night and we’ll pick him up on the way to the gym and drop him off at work.

Just saw on the news that Denver is cutting services like hours at the DMV, planting flowers in parks, some trash pickup and more. They say they need to do this to cut the budget to afford taking care of illegals. So, let’s get this straight. Denver chose to take in 40,000 illegals, knowing they can’t afford to take care of them, so they’re taking our money, (taxpayers) and spending it on them, instead of us, nice. I have an idea, HOW ABOUT NOT TAKING IN ANY BLEEPING ILLEGALS IN THE FIRST PLACE! Good God. I think the people that voted for the politicians that voted for Denver to be a sanctuary city, should pay for them. That would solve the problem. No words.

Today we’ll be getting ready for tomorrow’s party. Have a great weekend and God Bless.

Friday

Biden looks like toast! The Special Counsel said he won’t be charged, even though he willfully mishandled and shared classified documents, as he’s an elderly man with dementia. Not good at all. You can’t have both, right? Meaning you can’t get a pass for being incompetent and then say you’re qualified to be President. I’m sure the Dems are freaking out. What a mess. If they remove him now, it’s Kamala! That could actually be worse! Can’t make this shit up, oh well, on to the day.

Last night we had nine of us at cigar night as Ben was back from California for a few days. Great to see him. We all had a fun time. Ty worked all day and Lori and I did our usual morning routine at the gym. Same story today.

Lots to do to get ready for the big game and our party. Should be fun. We have a little dusting of snow outside, so I need to go shovel and warm up the truck. Not much else to say anyhow. have a great Friday and God Bless.
