Up and down

Was in and out of Denver by 10. Home by a bit after noon. Ty was with the dogs and Lori was out until about 10pm. Today I’m home and Lori is in Frisco. A little snow tonight but mostly in Denver. Jag had a late lunch with a girl from California that apparently he’s going to have as a roommate next year. Looks like he’s staying at CU.

Ty has his last Wednesday of school today and I’ll drop him at 8 before heading over to the gym. Tomorrow Lori goes to her moms.

Ali posted she had her vaccine yesterday. We’re happy for her. Looks like things are settling down across the Country, thank God. Time to get Ty moving so that’s it, be well, stay safe and GB.

Doing well

Made it to Boulder by 9:30, dropped stuff to Jag and headed to Denver to return something for Lori and then met Tina for lunch to go over a marketing plan for 65 spas nationwide. Then I was on the road home. Lori picked up Ty as I went home to let the dogs out.

I’m off to Denver this morning for one more quick trip to meet a buddy and drop some supplies. Lori is working in Vail and then has a dinner with two doctors and some company representatives at 6 at the base of Beaver Creek.

By the way, the $2 Trillion dollar package the Dems are pushing has almost nothing to do with covid, check it out as they’re bankrupting our kids future. Hope you like funding transit systems for Pelosi and libraries for Schumer and bailing out Chicago pensions. Tons of wasted money placating all the dem pet projects. Unbelievable, makes me sick.

I should be home by 1 or 2 if all goes well. Time to get moving so I can get on the road. Hope everyone is well, God Bless.

Boulder

I’m off in an hour to meet Jag and then have a quick meeting before heading home. Last week of February, Spring is coming soon, thankfully. Lori has an admin day and Ty has school.

Yesterday Harley had some more training here at the house with Jennifer. They played ball outside and Harley ignored Jennifer and was relaxed and let her play ball too. Jennifer (our trainer) says it’s not about the ball but about trust. She’s doing much better being around people and hopefully soon will be able to let people come over without barking at them. She’s so smart.

Almost 6:30 so time to get moving. Nice up here. Snow Wednesday and Thursday according to the news. Could be heavy. Hope they’re wrong as Lori flies out Thursday.

Be well, God Bless.

Blue Sky

Yesterday was a trip back to Aspen to get Ty’s haircut and have some lunch and a bit of shopping. We were home by 4 and had fun. Ty had a great haircut and took off with Sonny to go to a party in Vail and then spend the night at Sonny’s. It snowed pretty good but there’s less than an inch on the ground. The way it was coming down you’d think there would be a foot.

Looks like the State has over 30 million unused covid tests as people are no longer wanting to get tested or as worried as they were a few months ago. A doctor from John Hopkins said this will all be pretty much over in April as he believes herd immunity will kick in. Hope he’s right! In Aspen the restaurants and stores were packed with no real social distancing going on. Hopefully this is all coming to an end.

We’re off to the gym this morning in a bit. We watched a really good movie last night on Amazon called Brittany. It was one of those that tackled real life uncomfortable issues. This was about an overweight girl and her life and journey to find happiness and stop being judgmental of everything and everyone around here, including herself which was the most profound thing in the movie. When they rolled the credits at the end it turned out to be a true story as they showed the real Brittany. Nice to see a movie that actually makes you think in a positive way.

Jag is doing fine. He has a bunch of fraternity’s that want him. One asked him to do something the equivalent of early decision or ED when applying to college meaning he agrees to only rush with them. I guess frats put out bids or something for prospective pledges. He is also having lunch with a prospective roommate for next year. it’s a girl he met on a Zoom call and said he already laid down the rules of any relationship telling her it has to be 100% plutonic if they’re roommates. So maybe he’ll be staying at CU after all. I’m in Boulder tomorrow and am stopping by to drop him some food and see him.

Pretty blue sky outside without a cloud to be seen. We had some lobster the other day from Costco and it was cheap and really good. Thinking about getting some more today. Harley is training with Jennifer and Lori at 2 this afternoon. I’ll be writing up some white papers on a couple new business opportunities, one for Jag with an Italian company that makes surf boards, stand up paddle boards, windsurfing boards, clothes and more, and one that makes steel planters and outdoor items with a buddy. As I always say, everyone needs a side hustle these days.

God Bless.

One more time

Lori and I worked most of the day and at 2 ran into Vail to see Jeri Lu, our doctor. We know just about every doctor in town but she’s our favorite. Lori is convinced that from my ear infection, I caught a secondary sinus infection that is the cause of all my problems which is still with me. She’s usually right and Jeri Lu agreed with her so I’m on a round of Augmentin which is a pretty strong antibiotic so I can finally kick this thing. Throw in some nose spray for allergies and I should be good. My dizziness is pretty much all gone too so that’s good.

Snow coming tonight but before it arrives we’re headed back to Aspen as Ty has a haircut. It’s about an hour closer than Denver and takes us about an hour to get there. The same distance as Frisco. We’ll grab some lunch and try to find some clothes on sale for Ty since he’ll be with us. Lori also wants to stop at a furniture store in Basalt.

We closed the day with a Costco trip where we bought about $500 worth of essentials including a bunch of food for Jagger that I’ll drop off Monday. Jag and I were meeting up yesterday in Frisco but decided to just wait until Monday since I have to go down then anyhow. He wants his retainer that I picked up from the orthodontist as his other one cracked.

That’s it. Hope everyone is well. Lori is off to California next Thursday to see Dixie. Hope the weather cooperates. Be well, God Bless.

Fun in Aspen

Lori and I headed out to Aspen a bit after 10. First up was a stop at Aspen Hatter, where Clarity had a couple hats ready for us. She’s super great and even though they sell hats for $1200 a pop and have a four month or more wait, she drops everything for us and best of all, they’re always free to us. We’ve known her and Chris, the absentee owner who’s now a budding country rock star since he signed with a record label a couple of years ago, for years. I take Clarity feathers from birds when I go hunting and she uses them all the time on hats. I’ve also referred or brought in probably 10 paying customers for hats. She also calls me for business advice as with Chris pursuing his music career I’ve been guiding her on how to take over a bit and at a minimum, get some ownership as he’d be lost without her. She’s a good little hippie girl from New York that moved out her years ago when her dad moved here. She wanted to make us these as they’re unique as she left the fur from the beaver on. Most all cowboy hats they burn or sand off the fur. When Robi and Robert get up here we’ll have to take Robert in and get him hooked up! They’re nice, especially Lori’s. Check them out!

Lori is so cute! Next up we were off to our favorite restaurant Clarks. It’s mostly fresh seafood flown in daily but they do have great burgers too. It’s great that restaurants are almost all the way open now. Then we headed over to see Chris at Ralph Lauren as they had some things on sale and Lori always needs work clothes. If you’re smart, you can really get some things at Polo cheap. She bought a nice blue sweater and a white pair of jeans. Chris brought in a leather motorcycle type jacket for me to try on as it went on sale. He’s always watching for things to go on sale for us. I didn’t need another leather jacket though so I passed. Then he said wait a minute and disappeared downstairs as they were getting ready for inventory. He came back with a beautiful chocolate brown Purple Label jacket and said this is getting marked down 70% and I had to try it on. Now Purple Label is expensive stuff and Polo’s top of the line (dad and mom used to wear it a lot) so 70% off is something to consider. I slipped it on and voila, it felt like butter and like it was custom made for me. So we looked at each other and even though I’m kind of a cowboy boot and coat whore, it went home with us.

Across the street was a boutique furniture store we stuck our head in. They had all kinds of cool unique stuff but way out of our price range. We just can’t justify $3000 end tables or a $6000 leather bench in white leather and wood. The stuff was beautiful but way too much money. I joked with Lori saying those sure are Aspen prices, we need to know what the Eagle prices are!

After a quick pit stop at Whole Foods we headed home and pulled in around 6. Ty and the dogs were waiting for us and we all had a quick bite to eat. Jag was at the gym as we talked to him on the way home.

Today Lori has some girl coming over for work and we’re headed to the gym. Ty had friends coming up but that’s off now. 7 am so time to get moving. Be well, safe and take care. Warm up here again considering. About 35 degrees.

God Bless

Dry and clear

No snow up here, nice and clear too. Meanwhile Denver, Boulder and the rest of the front range got hammered. Tomorrow though, things will be warming up everywhere. I’m still waiting on two Fed Ex packages that were sent Monday for Tuesday delivery so that tells you how the rest of the Country is doing.

Lori had a long day. She had a bunch of doctors from Denver and other places up for a presentation in the cadaver lab where new techniques were practiced and presented. That’s on dead bodies in case you don’t know what a cadaver is. It wasn’t until 7:30 that she made it home. My back is slowly getting better. Hopefully one more day of no long drives will do the trick. I think we’ll try to go to the gym and I’ll see if I can loosen it up.

James is in Hawaii texting telling me how great the snorkeling and fishing is, super. Told him I’m jealous. He just bought a new house in Lake Creek which is about 15 minutes closer to us which is good. It’d be nice just to buy a little $5 million dollar house when you come upon something you want, right? Also told him next time we’re hopping on the plane and going with him and of course he said, great. I think he’s back next week.

Ty has a couple buddies coming up tomorrow for the weekend. Jag might come home for a week as he can just as easily do his school work here as there. He’s still working out hard and eating lots. Ty should be cleared with his ankle next week and will start working out then.

I was going to Aspen today but we’ll see. No politics today. What’s the point. It’s a joke. The World is laughing at us. Ugh, these four years or at least the next two are going to be tough.

Have a good day, God Bless.

Want a shot?

Up here, you can get a shot if you want one. Lori came home yesterday saying a drugstore within an hour is throwing out shots daily as there are not enough people coming in for them. One of her workers sister is the pharmacist and said if I want one, just show up at the end of the day. So if you want one, come on up!

Nice up here, not much recent snow. We had some down valley but no real accumulation. Driving up and down the hill yesterday seemed to tighten up my back more. Hopefully no driving today will make me better.

Lots of delays due to weather, especially with Fed Ex. Most of the Country is in a deep freeze. How’s that green energy working out for everyone? Not so well in the southern States where windmills that provide power are frozen solid. I think people will rethink a ban on fossil fuels. Of course dem politicians won’t as this didn’t affect them. I love how John Kerry told all the Keystone Pipeline workers to go get a job writing computer code, ha. He’s also pro wind farm but fought to keep one away from his vacation home in Nantucket. Typical, right?

I just finished a book called People’s Republic. Glen from Arizona sent it to me. It’s a glimpse into the future where the right and left coasts are blue (democratic and progressive) and the center of the Country is red, like most of us. Needless to say in the land of the blue with President De Blasio and President Clinton, things don’t go so well except for the very elite and eventually even the people get fed up with them. In the middle of the Country, the red States, things are pretty much how they were when I was a kid growing up. So much in this book, in the blue States, such as the new “woke culture”, gun control, free money and illegal immigration, with them getting more benefits than you or I, and no more gender distinction, (we’re now all just known as “xe”, no more male or female), food and medicine rationing, are all happening now in some form or have been proposed by some democratic politicians. Funny thing is the book was written in 2016. Wasn’t hard for the author to foresee these coming changes as it’s been right in front of our eyes for years. If you think about it, it’s really unfathomable that anyone can lose their job whether you’re an actor or a lowly factory worker for your political belief or preference yet that’s what’s happening daily. The scary thing is this happened fast, basically in a year. It’s now ok to loot businesses and destroy things if it’s in the name of social injustice. Really? WTF? This needs to stop or I fear the prophecy in the book of two America’s could come true. Right now we do have two America’s, it’s just that we still all live intermixed with each other. But make no mistake, there are two America’s. If you don’t see this you’re like the frog in boiling water and need to wake up. Glad I’m not on a coast but Colorado is governed by democrats so that needs to change. Enough said. Too depressing but needs to be said even though it’s obvious.

Lori is in Vail today, I’m home and so is Ty. Our firepit is finally being built on the back patio. Only six months behind, ha. Blame it on covid right? That’s it, be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Oh man,

This is getting old, the lockdowns, the weather, the economy, Biden and the Dems, my back, ugh. And you thought 2021 was suppose to be better. We’ve seen this movie before and we want our money back!

I’m off to Denver today, Lori to Edwards and Ty will be here with the pups. They too are driving us up a wall daily. We love them but dogs are overrated, ha.

Lori felt like she was having a relapse from her second shot last night. Her nose is stuffy and her throat is scratchy. Not sure if she has a fever or not.

They says cases are going way down, good. I’d prefer that before we all are forced to get shots, this just fizzles out. Not sure they can “force” you but I wouldn’t put anything past them. You know who “them” is. All the people that are suppose to be your representative’s but think they are your leaders. Hard to believe 500 something people can make the rules for 350 Million people. How’s that working out for you?

Time to hunker down, lay low and get ready for the shit show known as the new administration and their new coming laws and regulations that they’ve decided are the best for us poor little people. Good God, what a mess.

Pray, God Bless.

Off all week

Ty’s on break this week, Jag is in Boulder where it’s like 15 below, I have a couple calls and Lori is off to Vail for an admin day. Dogs are fine and it’s pretty warm up here. Yesterday while near zero on the front range it was 41 degrees up here. Same today, cold down there, coldest in 103 years, and about 30 up here.

We were going to the gym but with Lori needing to be in Vail by 8:30, we’ll need to go later today.

This week I need to get to Denver for a couple meetings, make a trip to Carbondale and Aspen and probably stop in Boulder to see Jag.

Lots of uncertainty with politics and the current Pres. For a guy that spouted all about unity, he’s been anything but. Shit’s about to get crazy and I think soon things will come to a stalemate. As I’ve said before, we need term limits. It’s hard to believe some of these people who are our representative’s but think they’re our leaders, have been there for 40 or more years. How’s that worked out for us, good God.

Time to go! Be well, stay safe and God Bless.
