9 Days Off!

That’s right, 9 days off for the boys, Lori will have 7 or 8 off herself, while I, well, let’s just say, no rest for the self employed. The good news about being self employed is you can make time just about any day to do what you want to do. The bad thing is, there’s no one else to pass the buck to. If you (meaning me) don’t get the job done, it doesn’t get done. Personally I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Lori came home around 3pm yesterday and I made her take some pain pills and get in bed and watch tv to try to calm her head down. She’s a little bit better when she lies flat and takes some meds. Looking straight down at anything explodes her head. She doesn’t want me constantly writing about it but it is part of our daily life, for now.

I picked up the boys around 6 from b ball. We ordered up some food for dinner from the place down the road as they deliver. Jag and I watched our new favorite show on Netflix called the Ranch. It has Sam Elliot, Ashton Kutcher and a few other actors from other shows you’d recognize. We’ve been catching up on the 20 episodes that are out as we just recently discovered it. We laughed a bunch as it’s pretty funny. Meanwhile Mr. Ty was playing a game with a couple buddies on his computer.

Guess I’ll run and go feed Mojo, hope everyone is well, have a great weekend.

Friday, thankfully

Yesterday the first real snow of the year arrived. It isn’t that deep but did close the pass for most of the day and night and there were several other accidents going west from Vail. Between downtown Vail and our exit, there’s a stretch of highway called Dowd Junction. People, especially those that don’t live here, always go too fast into the turns and ultimately crash. Yesterday was no different as a truck rolled over and ended up on its roof closing it down. So both east and west bound Vail were shut down meaning if you were in town, as we were (the boys and I at basketball and Lori at the hospital) you were stuck! Luckily they cleared the overturned truck up fairly quick and we made it home around 6:30pm. Lori strolled in about an hour later. Dr C is off to Hawaii for a week so it’ll be an easier day today for Lori. Yesterday was his birthday and I stopped by and said hi when I had physical therapy. I told him he needs to fix Lori’s neck which he’ll somehow get done. It’ll just take time.

Today is the last day of school for 9 days. Both boys have tests. It’s cold outside but not too bad as I went out barefoot to feed Mojo. It’s supposed to warm up a bit but not a whole lot. I made chili yesterday as I said which was good. It’s funny watching the news in Denver saying it’ll be pretty chilly in Denver with a high of 40 degrees. Up here it’ll be half that if we’re lucky.

No politics today, really, zero, nada, zip. Have a good day, GB

Uggh

Not much sleep around here. Lori’s head is not doing well. Having been through this before, it’s not going to be a very fun next few months around here. We’re going to have to try to get her into full blown surgery most likely sometime soon. First though, we need to identify exactly where the pain is coming from. To do this, last time we paid out of pocket (as insurance doesn’t cover it) for what’s called a discogram to pin point the problem. However, the doctor that performed the procedure last time, is in prison! Seems he liked his pain medication a bit too much, super. So here we go again. Wish us luck. We’ll try to be around as much as we can for all the holiday festivities but my first priority is to try to help her and get past this crap again.

Yesterday I was in Boulder and running around town and just made it back up to school by 4:30. I thought Ty had basketball but he didn’t so he had to hang out for an hour until I made it up the hill. Lori was home but on pain meds so she couldn’t drive. After taking Ty home I had to go back 45 minutes later to get Jag from ball.

No snow yet but it’s coming. Comcast is also coming between 8 and 10 am. We’re getting upgraded modems for the computers and tv’s. Guess I’ll run so I can clean up a bit and get the kids moving. It’s chili day around here and Dr. C’s birthday! Have a good day.

Still hopeful

Well, Lori was in and out of surgery with no issues but we didn’t get the desired results we were hoping for. Her neck felt better but her head was still hurting. She headed into work around 11 and I picked her up about 5:30. The doc, who is a really good guy who really cares and wants to help, told us not to give up hope just yet as unbeknownst to us, it could get better in a week or so. We thought if it didn’t work right away, it wasn’t going to work, which is usually the case. But Dr Evans said there’s still hope. So, we’ll “hope” it gets better, but it’s a small chance.

The kids had basketball last night meaning I had to drive to and from school like 3 or 4 times yesterday. This morning I’m off to Boulder and Lori is taking Ty to his orthodontist appointment at 8 am and then to school. She’s taking today off as Dr C is in surgery most of the day. Knowing her, she’ll still work from home.

Snow tomorrow, whoo hoo. It’s been nice having this indian summer but with the kids off next week, snow will be welcome so they can hit the mountain. It was nice though having the extra month or two of good weather as now winter will be 4 or 5 months long instead of the normal 6 plus. Bad news is I have to go buy their ski passes for the winter which even though discounted for them being local students, is still like $800 or so. I told my Mom, paying for Lori’s procedure was a gamble, one we had to take, just like being in Vegas, we just didn’t hit the jackpot.

I made a roast last night and today when I get home I’ll make my “famous” (only to me) sausage and beef chili. It’s pretty good, if I do say so myself, ha.

Politics, good God. I never knew the dems were such sore losers. The loser Senator from California (Boxer) submitted a bill to abolish the electoral college yesterday as they didn’t like the outcome of the election. Of course we’ve had this system for 240 years, and this won’t go anywhere so it’ll just be a waste of time, but I guess since they lost it’s ok to mess with the founding fathers and the Constitution. Poor little democrats, let’s give them a safe space where they can all go grieve. I’m sure all their kids will cherish their participation trophy’s from school sports this year. Turns out Trump is probably going to win the popular vote so I suppose next they’ll want to outlaw the popular vote too! The dems blatantly came out yesterday and said “here’s our plan to divide the GOP next year”. I could not believe this, one major political party plotting to sabotage the other for their own gain. Forget about the people right? Good God, what a joke. They have lost but just cannot accept it. No matter which side you’re on, nothing like this happened either time Obama was elected. It’s pretty easy to tell who the adults are in the room. Enough said.

Guess I’ll run. Hope everyone is well, have a great day, a week from tomorrow is Thanksgiving and then Christmas will be here soon. God Bless.

Cross your fingers

By the time most of you wake up, Lori should be out of surgery. She goes in at 6:45 this morning. I’ll drop her off, head back home to pick up the kids, take them to school and then head back down to the surgery center. Hopefully this will do the trick or else it’ll be another fusion. When Lori found out what we have to pay, she wanted to cancel rather than spend the money. Doctors (Lori sometimes thinks she is one) are sometimes not very smart, ha ha. I quickly told her that she’s going in and we are going to have to pay. Now I’m not looking to spend thousands of dollars but what’s the alternative here, constant pain? I don’t think so, as they say, I’ve seen that movie before. So, wish us luck.

Ty had his basketball game last night and played well but they lost. Jag made the Junior Varsity Team and is a starter. No freshman made Varsity which is made up of mostly Seniors and a few Juniors. In any case, they travel all over the State and play I think through February or March.

We need to leave at 6:30 which is in 30 minutes so I need to get moving. We’ll wake the kids and hope they don’t go back to sleep as they need to be ready for school when I get back around 7:15. Have a great day and God Bless.

Another week

Here we go again, today Ty and Jag both have basketball, tomorrow Lori has surgery, Wednesday I’m in Denver, Thursday we think snow and Friday is something but I can’t remember right now. Throw in tons of pressure at work and we are busy.

Tonight is the Super Moon. It won’t be here again until like 2034. So, we all might want to take a look at it just in case, ha.

The Broncos won, whoo hoo, and so did Ty’s and my fantasy football team. In fact, we both have the same record of 7 and 3.

Ty has a couple tests today so we need to get him up early. The boys have no school next week due to Thanksgiving so they have a lot going on this week. Then they’re back in school for 3 weeks and then off until 2017.

We’re up in the air as to what we’re doing for all the holidays. First off, so everyone knows, my priority is making sure Lori’s headache goes away. Everything else comes second. For Thanksgiving, we don’t know what we’re doing. We might go to Denver or might not. Don’t worry about us in your plans. If we head to Denver and there’s not enough turkey, we’ll bring some! She might not be able to ride in a car for 100 miles as of right now, even the slightest bump in the road will trigger her headache. For Christmas, we’re also up in the air. Grandma Dix will either be coming to Colorado or we will be going somewhere, again all subject to Lori’s head. Everyone just needs to stand by until we get through this week. We want to see and be with everyone but have to put Lori’s health first. If you cannot wait to make your plans, go ahead and make them without us, we’ll be fine. Thanks for your understanding.

Time to run, it’s cold outside right now and will get much colder later this week. Have a great week and we’ll see you all tomorrow, GB

In and Out of D

We made it down to Denver by 10am and were home by 5. Big cities have lots of things we don’t have but the trade off it lots of traffic, dirty air, crowds of snooty people and more. This isn’t all bad but sure is different from our little town in the mountains.

I’m going to stay away from politics today as talking about the protesters just gives them undeserved credibility. I was pleased to see a couple famous black comedians and actors on Saturday Night Live last night, say that Trump is our President and we need to give him a chance. Finally some coverage that’s not anti Trump or inflammatory. One more thing, I’m through with divisive celebrities whether singers of actors. I will not be supporting anyone anymore that will not accept our democratic elections. You didn’t see any of us throwing temper tantrums when Obama was elected now did you, hmmm. By the way, that also goes for the mainstream media who would have you believe they are impartial and just reporting the facts. Nothing could be further from the truth at places like CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS. You may not realize it, but there as bad as State owned media in communist countries yet still trying to pretend they’re real journalists. Whoops, I wasn’t going into politics, sorry.

Jag had a good practice at basketball while Ty stayed home taking what he called, “a lazy Saturday”. I ran some errands to a few stores while Lori was getting her hair done and then we stopped to visit my Mom for an hour as Lori hadn’t seen her in 4 months or more. In fact, Lori hadn’t even met Maybell, my Mom’s little puppy that she’s had for at least 4 months! We then headed up the hill, stopped at the grocery store in Frisco and were home as I said, by 5pm.

Today the Broncos are on tv early at 11am and we’ll be watching that for sure. Wisconsin and Colorado both won yesterday so hopefully that’s a trend. It’s 7:40 and Lori just came down for coffee. We have her on pain meds until her procedure Tuesday morning. Everyone needs to say a prayer that her headache goes away! That’s it, take care and GB.

Off to Denver

This morning Lori and I are off to Denver to get her hair done. Jag has basketball from 10 until 12 and Ty, who went to the Middle School dance last night, will probably sleep through the whole thing. I managed to clean the garage yesterday which was way overdue.

Snow, they say, is coming in about a week but we’ll see. Hard to believe it’s already mid-November. Next Tuesday Lori goes in for surgery (since she’s in the OR, it’s officially surgery) to have injections in three levels of her neck. We’re trying to stay ahead of her headache and her bad discs.

Back to politics, once again the mainstream media (NBC, CNN, ABC and CBS) would have you believe the whole Country is up in arms over the election. This is so comical and will soon end as the money they’re paying all these protesters will run out. The sad thing is that in the 1940’s you had 18 year olds storming the beaches at Normandy to give people the right to voice their opinion and today our 18 year olds have safe spaces where they can go and cry in peace and protest the very thing our forefathers fought for. Isn’t it ironic that they’re protesting the right to have free and fair elections! You see when democrats don’t like the outcome of something, then they want to change the rules. Imagine if Hill won and the republicans were protesting. Man the media would have a field day tearing those people apart. But no, since it’s democrats protesting, they are justifying it and ignoring kids as young as 11 being beat up for supporting Trump. The property damage is being ignored and people are even being shot! I’ll bet you $100 no one in Portland Oregon will be prosecuted for any damage or crimes for destroying property or attacking Trump supporters as the liberal mayor will somehow justify it. Kristin who works for me and lives in Portland and supported Hill, said, “this is not Portland, we don’t know where all these people came from”. You see she was downtown with her Mom the other night and happened upon the protest. She immediately got out of there and saw all the buses lined up with protesters getting off them. She said they all had California plates, surprise surprise. Notice they aren’t trying any of this shit in non democratic strongholds. Good God, what a bunch of spoiled little mindless lemmings that are sadly being used by the Dem elites that still can’t fathom what happened. Say what you will about Michael Moore, but he called it. He rightly said, these people that voted fro Trump are not racist as they all voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012! He’s absolutely right, the dems though ignored the working man and Trump won them over. Once again, just like African Americans, the dems took them for granted. You can only tell people you’ll do things for them for so long without actually doing anything for them. God Bless.

Stupidity

Well let’s see, across the Country (sort of) or let’s say in the big blue cities anyhow, you have protests against the election. Some really stupid people are even calling for the assassination of Trump, yet there’s no repercussions for doing so????. Black people in Chicago (surprise surprise) are beating white people if they think they voted for Trump. And once again, George Soros is funding the whole thing. He is actually paying people to protest, busing them into cities, and having them cause mayhem. You even have ultra left journalists like Chris Matthews saying, “why are they protesting, he won”. Never thought I’d compliment him. What’s really funny, is they’re blocking traffic and destroying property in cities like NY and LA, where like 90% of the voters voted for Hill! So, they’re destroying property and causing problems for the very people that voted for Hill. Now that’s stupid!  The real disservice to the people is the media, who through their slanted coverage, would have you believe the whole country is upset when in fact it’s a small faction of loser, misguided people who should be in jail. Don’t fall for their propaganda anymore, turn off ABC, NBC and CBS and of course CNN, where the President of that network is a lady who is married to a man in the current administration.

Then you have so called celebs calling for a revolution, well, here’s some news for you, the revolution started Tuesday night! This will all calm down but once again it’s funny how just a week ago the dems were warning that when Hill won, the Trump supporters were going to tear this Country apart. Too funny that now that the tables have turned, it’s them that turned out to be the real thugs.

Oh and Canada and Mexico yesterday said they want to renegotiate Nafta! Wow, he isn’t even in office and both those countries that have been taking advantage of us for years, are now extending olive branches as they know things will change.  All this just makes it that much more important that Trump won. Our Country will rise again.

Dems are angry and confused as they were sure Hill would win. In fact, what happened is the white working class voter, which was always the backbone of the democratic party, voted Trump. They lost all three branches of govt and have no rising stars. Let’s see, you have 67 year old Elizabeth Warren and 75 year old Bernie Sanders as the future of your party? Howard Dean yesterday said he wants to be DNC Chairman again. Good luck with that one, the GOP will be in power for decades if that happens. And by the way, if the dems didn’t fix the whole thing and back a flawed candidate in Hill, and would have let the people decide, Bernie would have won the nomination and the election, no question about it. Wow.

Today we’re trying to get Lori a facet injection around 1pm. She needs to go in early to talk to Dr. C first. We hope it’s not flared up as high as C1 as then she can’t have it done. Jag has basketball tonight and tomorrow and then again Monday. He’s sure playing well as I was watching him yesterday while waiting for Ty. Lori and I are in Denver tomorrow. I’m sort of talking the day off today to clean the garage. It’s 6am now so time to get the kids moving. Hope all’s well. GB, and Happy Veterans Day to all those that served and are serving.

The Day After

Today’s post should have been called, “The Sore Loser” as that pretty much sums up yesterday. You see there’s a socialist, communist, pig of a man who has been trying to manipulate the sheeple (those are people who blindly follow another without thinking for themselves) to get what he wants. His name is George Soros and he own an organization called Moveon.org. Well, not liking the outcome of the election where the people fairly voted according to the rules of our Constitution, he organized his mindless followers into protests in something like 7 cities. Now the first question is, if Hill won, would you have seen this, the answer is 100% no! The second question is, should this man be held responsible for the 5 people shot in Seattle at the protest he personally directed the formation of? The answer here is 100% yes. But I doubt you’ll see that, instead they’ll go after the gun or something rather than this pig that incites violence across our Country rather than letting the Country and people heal. The funny thing is, Trump is the President and all the protests in the World will not change that. If somehow the Constitution was ever thrown out, then, you’ll see a protest, and not one where mindless kids follow a disillusioned old man they don’t even know. Shame on him, as a democrat, and as a person, for further trying to divide the people of our Country. And shame on anyone that also supports him or his agenda.

Today I have a conference call at 8am and then physical therapy at 11. Yesterday Eric at Lori’s office, checked out Jag’s back that’s been sore. We think he pulled a muscle but have him on advil and rest. His x rays looked fine.

I might be in New York next week but am waiting to hear. Then the week after is Thanksgiving and the kids are off. Lori says the ski resort and hotels are freaking out with no snow yet as the mountain is supposed to open on the 18th. Right now, it’s all grass up there and we have 8 days to go. We’re praying for snow!

Guess I’ll run, in closing it’s up to everyone to try to heal our Country after the most divisive election in history. Both candidates took the high road and actually gave their best speeches ever. Now it’s up to us. Personally I’m a little sick of having to baby the democrats. Even at the kids school, the teachers were way out of line with some crying and others spewing their own opinions and telling the kids how bad Trump is and how great Hill was. Of course, this happens in education everywhere as most teachers are democrats. In fact, a Yale professor told students they could skip a final if they were too distraught from the election! What! Are you kidding me? Get over it, some of our educators are raising a cupcake generation that is being coddled and babied which does them a great disservice in preparing them for this thing called life. Thank God both our kids saw right through this propaganda and refused to go along with these socialist ideas. Good God, we still have a lot of work to do as a Country. I don’t know or understand how our citizens became so mindless and soft. God Bless.
