A Year of Change

Last night we had parent teacher conferences and this morning Ty and I are leaving at 7:15 so he can be at school by 8. Then I’m off to Denver. Lori is in Sacramento and has a bad cold. If it’s worse this morning I’m telling her to just come home. We’ll see. I knew she was getting sick yesterday morning.

I have to stop at the tire place, the distributor and my gold and silver dealer. Important to diversify into some precious metals with the way things are going. We’ve been doing it for years. Inflation and increased government regulation don’t bode well for the dollar or any currency. Daily your money is worth less and less. That’s why people are buying more staples which contributes to supply shortages. I prefer junk silver, meaning coins made in 1964 or earlier as they have 90% silver and are easily used. An ounce of gold is great if you’re buying something for a couple thousand dollars but not for some food. There’s a gas station taking 2 pre 1964 dimes, 20 cents, right now for a gallon of gas.

I’m almost all back from my food poisoning. Serena had a rough day yesterday with the chills and said she felt like she was hit by a truck. Bad chicken is the worst. Hopefully she’s better today too. Time to go and wake Ty. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Ok, after I wrote the blog yesterday morning, it hit me. Food poisoning. After scrambling we found a car to drive Serena to the airport for $600 as it was that bad. I had planned on going but barely made it to Vail to drop her off. I then didn’t think I’d make it home. Thankfully I did. We asked Serena if she was feeling ok and she said yes. I spent the day in bed and am 10 times better today but still not back. Unfortunately as soon as Serena made it to Denver, she too was sick. I guess she threw up the whole flight to Sacramento. We’re sure it was a chicken appetizer we had the day before at lunch. What a drag.

I managed to get out of bed to take Lori to the Eagle Airport a few minutes ago for her flight to Sacramento. She’s meeting her stepsister Kathy there and will be back Sunday. Ty and I have a college counselor meeting at 10 so I need to get some rest. Hope Serena is better today. It was a fun trip outside of the ending. Sort of like a good movie with a bad ending. Good news is I’ve lost 5 pounds! Stay safe, God Bless.

Serena and I are off this morning to Denver for her flight home around 2 this afternoon. She picked a good three days to be here as it was nice and warm. She had a fun visit. This afternoon the rain and snow arrives. Lori is off tomorrow for Sacramento until Sunday. Ty was in Steamboat all day yesterday for lacrosse.

I have to stop by the distributor and tire shop once we make it to Denver and then will drop Serena at the airport. With luck, I should be home around 3 or so. Time to get moving, be well and God Bless.

Yesterday we headed to Aspen for some shopping, lunch and sightseeing. It was a fun time. Serena found some new clothes and had fun. We made it home around 5 and then Lori went to get Dixie. She didn’t remember Serena or Annette. Serena even showed her a picture of her, Dixie, Annette and Lori but it still didn’t help. So sad.

We all sat around and watched the Oscars. it was ok but nothing special for me. Ty spent the night at a friend’s house in Edwards and Lori and I will get him after we go to the gym in an hour or so. Not sure what is going on today. The weather has been great and will hold out until tomorrow night after Serena makes it home. Jag left around 10 and headed back to school. It was great having him here all week.

Food shortages are real. You’re starting to see more empty spaces on shelves everywhere. Get ready, things are going to get much worse before they get better. Prepare best you can, God Bless.

It was almost 70 yesterday afternoon when Serena arrived. Lori picked her up at the gas station by the highway where her friend dropped her off. I was on the way home from Ty’s lacrosse game. They beat his old school VMS, 5 to 3. After his game, Cherry Creek played a team from Park City Utah. Cheery Creek looked like a pro team. They were big, strong and good. They looked more like a college team than a high school team.

Marty came over for dinner so he, Serena, Lori and the boys and I had dinner together. This morning Jag heads back to Boulder after spending the week with us. It was great to have him home. Lori and I might take Serena to Aspen, we’ll see. Otherwise, we’ll take her to Vail today. Ty played well. On one play he stole the ball and then was tripped and went down hard but bounced right back up.

Meanwhile overseas, Biden continued his gaff tour saying Putin must go at the end of a pretty good speech, basically calling for regime change. To be fair, he of course didn’t write the speech, no Presidents do, but to also be fair, he put his foot in his mouth all on his own with his adlib comments at the end. His aides and staff were scrambling avoiding questions until they could make something up to explain his mistake. Immediately they tried to clean things up but you can bet Putin heard exactly what he said. Biden is backing him into a corner just when there was hope this mess might end. Not now, what an idiot. He just can’t help himself.

Yesterday we went to the gym, Jag and I to the range and then Lori and I to the new Sandra Bullock movie, The Lost City. Our little town is so great as our movie theater is like it’s in Mayberry (from Andy Griffith), with hardly anyone ever there, our airport is so small it has zero lines ever, and even out doctors and hospital are relatively easy to get into to. Best of all is you usually see someone you know wherever you go. Small town living at its best. Even the Sherrif and I are good friends.

This morning Lori and I are headed to the gym and then we need to get cleaning as Serena comes this afternoon. We’re having a bbq but first Ty has a lacrosse game at 12:30. Marty is coming, and I think James too but he’s flying back from California today, so we’ll see when he gets in.

Thanks to everyone for all the anniversary wishes. It was a good day. It’s going to be warm today, probably in the 70’s. Can’t wait. Ty just came down for water and is headed back to bed. Jag is still sleeping. have a great day, be well, stay safe and God Bless.

22 years today! Seems longer, in a good way. No special plans today and we decided not to go out and buy each other gifts. Of course, Lori will get a bunch of flowers as she loves them so much.

Jag and I were in Denver and back mid-afternoon. Around dinner he went to Boulder to hang out with some friends for the night. He’ll be back today. It’s only about a 2 hour drive and he’s young and on break. Plus he slept the whole way home from Denver yesterday. He asked if it was ok and obviously I said sure. It’s his break.

Nice weather yesterday in Denver, about 70 degrees. Warm up here too. Think today will be even warmer.

We both still remember our wedding vividly. Scottsdale in March was beautiful and what a great group of friends and family. I’ve been to a number of weddings and to this day, ours was one of the best, if not the best ever. We’ve done so much in 22 years it’s hard to believe. Kids, travel, tons of great experiences and of course some ups and downs. Mostly ups though. I always tell everyone I “married up” which is 100% true. I really lucked out, but for the most part, I’ve always been blessed in my life.

So here’s to another 22 years! Wouldn’t want to spend it with anyone else other than Lori.

Tomorrow is our anniversary, 22 beautiful, blissful, lovey dovey years! Jag and I are off to Denver at 6:00 this morning. We’re dropping Ty at practice at 6:30 am. Hope to be back early afternoon. Lori is taking Dixie to the dentist and then to work. Ty has school. Jag and I went shooting yesterday, or should I say Jag went shooting and I watched, ha. He’s getting really good. We grabbed some lunch after that and then he went to workout.

4:23 in the afternoon and Annette just texted asking what happened to the blog today! Well, I had a 7am workout and was going to do it when I got home but obviously forgot. Then I took Ty to school and then Jag and I hit the range for more training, and then went for lunch and we just made it home. Busy day.

Lori is in Frisco and will be home around 6:30 or 7. Tomorrow Jag and I are in Denver leaving early around 6:15am. Should be back by 1 or 2. Not much else going on. Getting warm up here. Serena arrives Saturday and we’re having a bbq. More tomorrow, God Bless.

Quick trip today. My phone is messed up and the alarm isn’t working so I overslept again today. Lori is messing with it right now as she can fix just about anything. We went to dinner last night at The Rose for a salad while Ty had lacrosse. Then we stopped to see Dixie on the way home. Tommy says Shelly is doing much better and is in a regular room at the hospital now. Her birthday is this Friday, same day as our anniversary.

Biden now says the economy is great! I guess we can all relax and not worry, ha. What a joke this guy is, enough said. Hope his kid gets what he deserves too. What a loser. Hard to believe this family is in power. Makes me sick, God Bless.
