A Year of Change

I landed in Phoenix after a short flight of 90 minutes. Upon deplaning I was greeted by 86 degree weather that felt just perfect. Walking out of the terminal I met my ride and headed off for our hotel. Next up it was off to my Mom’s jeweler to have her ring repaired as I picked it up on the way to the airport. They sure had some beautiful things, most not very practical, but lots and lots of really nice stuff. Lucky Lori wasn’t with me, ha ha.

Lauren, my employee from Texas, and I, then met up with Brian for dinner. After dinner we met the owner of the restaurant as they were still serving our Giocato Pinot Grigio that I had sold into the restaurant over 5 years ago. The restaurant was Cowboy Ciao which is one of a handful owned by this guy who has a bunch of successful places. Looks like we’ll be doing more business with them.

Lauren and I then thought we’d stop into Nordstroms as we were almost across the street. Down here they have a much better selection than Denver as it’s warmer and I think there’s more money. The plus for me is they have Large and Extra Large Tall shirts for all the baseball players down here for Spring Training. Speaking of Spring Training, the airport and town are packed. People everywhere.

Today I have a 10:30 meeting and then a 2:30 flight so there you go. I’ll land in Denver around 4 and then head up the hill after dropping of my Mom’s ring that her jeweler fixed while I waited. Hope all’s well, enjoy the day and God Bless.

It’s 5:45 and Mojo has had breakfast and I made the coffee. My flight is like 11:30 or so meaning I’ll drop the kids at school and head down the hill. I’ll be home tomorrow by 4pm or so. Lori, with her bright red face and all, is headed back to work today. At this point she just looks like she fell asleep in the sun. She’s getting better every day.

The boys had a good first day back at school and Warner came home with Ty to do homework together and then play. I stopped and bought them all a pizza on the way.

It was really windy last night but not much snow, if any, at all. I think it’s supposed to be dry up here for the next 10 days or so. Spring is coming on but I’m sure we’ll get another blast of winter before it’s all over. Lori just came down so I guess I’ll go. Have a great day, it’s 90 in Phoenix, whoo hoo!

Here we go, back to school. Not sure what all’s going on but the boys are off in an hour. This month Jag has a hut trip and a trip to Washington D.C. Ty goes to the Burton Pro Snowboard Open tomorrow for a few hours. I’m not sure if Lori is going to work or not, she should probably stay home by looking at her face. I have lots to do for work before I go to Phoenix tomorrow until Wednesday. Then Thursday I have lots of computer and phone work and then Friday will be in Denver. So a busy week ahead, here we go.

Time to run as it’s 6:40 and the boys need to get moving. GB

It sure was nice yesterday. After I went to the gym, the boys and I walked down to see the Skijoring. The horses and skiers were pretty fast! Next up was a trip to Eagle for the Elk Foundation banquet. We weren’t going to stay for the entire 7 hours but wanted to check it out and support the local chapter, as we love elk! After hanging out there for an hour and a half, we went to one of our favorite restaurants where Ty had two orders of Dino (chicken) nuggets, Jag had a French Dip sandwich and I had a chicken breast. We then stopped at a store on the way home before settling in for the evening.

Meanwhile Lori was still recuperating, but was also cleaning. That was about it for the day. Today we’ll get outside and do something as again it’ll be nice. School starts tomorrow as this is the last day of break. I have a big work week and so does Lori. That’s all, the Oscars are tonight and we were supposed to go to a party in Aspen but will pass as Lori can’t go out anywhere. Have a good rest of your weekend, GB.

Lori and I were home by a bit before 5pm. She had a cosmetic procedure on her face yesterday that burns the entire top layer of her skin off. People normally pay over something like $2000 for this apparently. Anyhow she looks like a zombie as her whole face is bloody. We stopped by my Mom’s to show her on the way home. What this does is it rejuvenates the cells and skin and takes years off the skin. She did it once a few years ago so she knows how it works. It does take about 10 days to totally heal. Her old doctor that she worked for normally did this to people when they were knocked out in the ER when getting a face lift. She does need to stay out of the sun for a few days and will either go back to work Monday or Tuesday.

Meanwhile I was running around town working and getting things done. Today they have something going on in town as they’ve built a bunch of jumps out of all the snow piles and closed a road. I think it’s called skjoling or something. This is where skiers are pulled by cowboys on horses and then they go over jumps and fly into the air. Tonight the boys and I are going to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet down in Eagle. They have all kinds of activities and fun stuff for the kids. I’m headed to the gym after Jag wakes up so he can go with me. It’s going to be in the mid 50’s here today which is warm. They say 70’s in Denver, Spring’s coming on and not too soon! This morning Lori and I are off to Big D for a bunch of stops. I’ll drop her at the dermatologist and handle most of them myself. The boys are wrapping up their break. We (they) didn’t go anywhere but had fun doing what they want. We should be home by 2pm or so depending on traffic.

I did manage to have a pretty good month at work bringing in over $1 Million. I don’t talk much about work but things are really starting to come together. Never give up, no matter what you do in life, never give up.  I’ll try to write more tomorrow as once again, I have no time and need to run. God Bless.

The weather on the East Coast was forecasted to deteriorate fast so I decided yesterday morning to hop a flight an hour earlier. Lucky I did or I’d be writing this holed up in a hotel in New York. My flight at 1:48 (we took off around 2:30) was the last one to get out. 3 1/2 hours later I landed in Denver.

Then I made a quick stop at my Mom’s to pick up some things I left there as I took a rental car to the airport. My buddy is the GM of the Chevy dealer and they have to sell a specific number of trucks each month, even at a loss to get money from Chevy in Detroit. So when I dropped my truck off to fix a ding on Monday, he said he might be able to put me into a 2016 at the same price (which would be selling it to me at a huge loss)  of my 2015. Sure enough, when I landed he had transferred my tires and topper, had a bed liner installed, leveled the front end, put on a clear bra and moved over all my stuff, for the same price I was paying on my 2015. So I picked up my new truck and headed up the hill, good to have good friends.

Lots to do today so I’d better get moving. Ty spent the night at a friends and Jag is asleep while Lori is getting ready as she has an early VIP client. I’m home for 3 days and then off to Phoenix for 1 night. Stay well, keep an eye out and GB.

It’s 6am EST and I’ll be leaving around 8 or so for my 10am meeting in New Jersey. After that, I’ll get dropped off at Newark Airport for my flight home sometime after 2pm. It’s been raining back here the whole time and hopefully I’ll get out with no delays. Once I’m back in Denver I’ll head up the hill.

I had dinner with Lorenzo last night and ran into a couple of friends and we celebrated the Bronco victory in the Super Bowl. Not much else but work. The boys and Lori are fine. That’s about it, no time to waste, New York is crowded as usual. Take care and God Bless.

I drove down yesterday to Denver to do some business and then checked into my hotel by the airport around 5pm. Denver was supposed to get a bunch of snow but here at the airport, there’s only a dusting. I’m off to New York for a day and will be back tomorrow evening.

Yesterday Ty went skiing and spent the night at Sam’s house. Meanwhile Jag hung out with some friends while Mom worked. I stopped and saw my Mom who is doing well. It’s 5:19 so time to get moving. I’m in Phoenix for a day next week on Wednesday. Looks like a quick in and out with me being there for only 5 hours or so. Oh well, another quick trip, GB

They say it’s going to snow tonight and tomorrow until about noon. I’m off to New York tomorrow so I’m staying at the airport in Denver tonight since I have an early flight and the weather is supposed to get a little precarious. Plus I’d rather not get up at 4 and we can always use some more Marriott miles.

Yesterday Lori and I managed to clean out our closet. This might not sound like much but it was a really big deal. You can now see the floor and even walk in it which is a major victory. The boys went skiing for a few hours and then Jag went to a movie with his friend Emile. Ty hung out with us playing with his friend in Denver on their video games.

That’s about it, I think Lori is going to try to go to the gym with me in 15 minutes or so, unless her back is too sore from cleaning. Hope you all are doing well, take care and God Bless.
