Golf

Lori and I have a golf lesson at 10 this morning. We just went up to Davy and Abby’s to let the dog out (he peed all over their bed) and put their trash out. They took the family to New York until Monday. The kids made it up around 4 yesterday, Ty came down, and we all had dinner. They were up early working on their pizza dough from a starter that Molly, the chef at Ty’s place, gave us. We’ll be making homemade pizza tonight.

On the World stage, Israel attacked Iran, the Dems, who have dropped to only a 16% approval rating, are organizing protests all across the Country tomorrow. They’re calling it No Kings, ha ha. It came out on the news yesterday that they’re paying $200 per person for 2 hours of protesting. At a hundred dollars an hour, no wonder people are showing up. Everyone I know thinks it’s insane and is 100% behind deporting illegal criminals. Throw in the markets up and downs, (down 500 points this morning), and gold rising to $3443, which is up about $135 dollars in two days, and you have a lot of stuff going on. We should have bought more gold a couple days ago at $3300.

We had cigars yesterday afternoon which was fun. James plays Houston tonight and texted me a billboard of the stadium yesterday as Andrea Bocelli played there last night. Lori still thinks we should get Andrea and James to do some sort of duet.

It’ll be hot up here today, probably hitting 90. Going to be a warm weekend. We’re still looking all around at houses, from Arizona to Idaho to Montana. It seems all of Arizona is for sale! If you look at Zillow, there are more houses for sale than not down there.

7:45am now, I think we’ll shower, load up our clubs, then go have breakfast with Ty before our lesson. It seems like a Saturday, but as we know, it’s only Friday. Time to get moving, have a great day and God Bless.

Coyotes

Yesterday afternoon Harley was outside, but I couldn’t find her. After calling her, she came bounding up the hill. I suspected she was playing with a coyote but wasn’t sure. This morning, 5 minutes ago, Lori said, look, there’s a coyote in the backyard! They’re smaller than Harley but you don’t want them around. It instantly ran away upon seeing Lori. If it gets comfortable coming up here, I’ll shoot it. It’s legal to shoot coyotes in Colorado.

We, or I, have a dentist appointment this morning, but Lori is going to take it. It’s just for a cleaning. The kids come up this afternoon. Can’t wait to see them.

Yesterday I called our close friend Phoebe, who’s been cutting our hair for 20 years, to check on her. Turns out on Mother’s Day, she had emergency surgery on her colon and digestive track. Without explaining it all, she ended up with Sepsis, ARD and double pneumonia and almost died! Tommy, Holly knows Phoebe, you should tell her. She posted on Instagram. This stuff makes you think and value your life, and more importantly, how you spend it. That’s four close friends we know who’ve had serious health issues in the past year, and one of them is terminal. Thinking about this, you wonder why we waste all our time working and not doing as many things as you can that fulfill your life. None of us know how much time we have left. Looks like Phoebe will thankfully recover, but it’s going to take some time. Prayers for her.

The 90’s are coming. It’s going to be hot down in Denver. We’ll be 5 degrees cooler but still warm. Looks like we’re in for a hot summer. The rivers are running high with the snow melt too.

Robi texted after she read the blog laughing as she did roll her eyes, when reading about my waffles, ha. I think I’ll send her some just so she knows what I’m talking about!

That’s it, time to get moving so we can get to the gym before the dentist. Have a great Thursday and God Bless.

Back half

Soon it’ll be July, and we’ll be in the second half, or as I like to say, the back half of the year. Big changes have been going on behind the scenes, and soon we’ll be going public. More to come on that, but I’m excited for the new chapter coming up.

Lori is in Frisco today. Seems like she’s there more often than twice a month, but that’s all it is. Ty works today. I was wrong, as he was off yesterday and works Saturday. My nose is stuffed up a bit this morning so that means things are blooming outside. It’s getting really green.

The news just showed Pikes Peak on tv, and they still have a good amount of snow up there. Maybe we should go for a hike up high somewhere to get up to the cooler temperatures.

I swapped a pair of cowboy boots yesterday with my girl in Texas, and the new ones will arrive tomorrow. Also, and this is exciting, I have my order of Viking Waffles arriving tomorrow. This lady from Norway started a company in New York that makes these great, low carb, high protein, gluten free, (stop rolling your eyes Robi) waffles! I found out about them from Shannon Sharpe, the former Broncos tight end. They only ship on certain days as they make them fresh and ship Fed Ex 2 Day. You can freeze them for six months or keep them in the fridge for 3 days or so. Super yummy.

Looks like it’ll be in the 80’s today. It was almost 90 yesterday. We’re thinking of going up to Cody Wyoming for July 4th. Our friends have the VIP Suite at the rodeo, which is one, if not the, top rodeo in the Country, on the 4th. Davy and Abby and the kids might go with us. It’s about a seven-hour drive which isn’t too bad.

Almost 6am now, so time to get moving. I’m off to the gym in 30 minutes to workout. Have a great Wednesday and GB.

Another Day in Paradise

Crap going on everywhere. Trying not to turn the news on much today. I did see Trump is sending the Marines, a whole battalion, into L.A. I say, good deal. There’s a mini protest here in Denver, all funded by Dem leftwing groups. Watching them on the news, Lori said, why aren’t they at work? Good question.

Lori works in Vail today. Ty works too, and Jag and Ava are narrowing down their search for a new apartment. I like the new building on about 26th and Speer. It has all kinds of amenities, 24/7 security and concierge service, and is close to downtown, but not in downtown. Places are running about $2500 these days, plus utilities. That’s a whole lot of money to rent a one-bedroom place. We don’t want them in LoDo or Rhino which are both in the city. This place is at least on the outskirts of the city, across the highway. We’ll see.

Warm temps headed our way. I dropped a guitar at the repair shop in Arvada yesterday as it is drying out which gives you fret sprout meaning the neck shrinks and the frets stick out on the side. They’ll put it in the humidifier to get some moisture back in the wood and then fix it. It’s a great guitar we got from Jeffrey in Hawaii years ago, a Martin D-28. Need to get it fixed as it’s an heirloom. Should last for decades. It’s my fault for not having a humidifier in the case. Won’t do that again!

Marty’s kid Max has shoulder surgery this morning. He needs to be there at 6, meaning he’ll be in the OR about 7:30, done a couple hours later, and in recovery until around noon. He needs a couple pins put in.

We have a golf lesson Friday, and I think Lori, Ty and I will golf Sunday morning. Think we’ll join the club as it saves us money over just paying as we go. I need to go down today or tomorrow and check it out.

That’s it for today. Have a great Tuesday and be well. God Bless.

Peaceful Riots

In LA, there are a bunch of peaceful protests, according to the Dems like Cory Booker and the mainstream news. Funny though, as what I see on the internet shows cars burning, highways blocked, police officers attacked and more. I don’t know, maybe we just have different definitions of the word peaceful.

Understand, this is all organized by far-left groups meant to create division between the people. They want a civil war. These group, and their leaders, need to be arrested asap. This is like George Floyd 2.0. If you live in a Dem run city, be cautious. If you’re in a red State, you can just watch it on tv. These left-wing groups don’t care about people getting hurt, only about their agenda. Collateral damage is acceptable to them. Question, does anyone remember crap like this when Obama was elected? Hmm.

Yesterday Lori ran to Glenwood to get her hair done. Ty went to Central City with Jack for his 21st birthday. I guess he stopped by Tommy’s on the way. Jag and Ava are still on the hunt for an apartment.

The heat is on for the next 7 to 10 days. After today we’re headed to the 80’s and above. We need to come up with some fun plans for the weekend.

Later this week we’re going to run out to Yampa, which is halfway to Steamboat, to check out the no contact boarding kennel where Harley gets to go stay in a couple weeks. Thought we’d take a drive and just go see it.

Wonder how hot it’ll be in Arizona this weekend if it’s 90 plus in Denver. Seems early to be getting that hot. Thank God we live in the mountains.

Almost 6:30 am now. That’s it for the day. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care, be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Warming Up

Think we’re getting a few showers this afternoon but then it looks like the 80’s and up for the foreseeable future. That’s June in the mountains. Blue sky and pretty outside right now.

Ty took an Uber home last night as he and some buddies went out for some drinks last night at some GoPro Game after party. Today is Jack’s birthday so he’s going down to Central City where they all booked a hotel at the casino. Oh, to be, or not to be 21 again. Sure, I’d like to be 21, but I wouldn’t like the hangovers that came with being 21, ha! Lori and I absolutely love not drinking. Actually, we love not consuming the calories and the hangover. Not preaching here, to each their own. It’s just what we prefer these days.

Jag and Ava have been looking at a bunch of apartments. It’s a renters market right now as there are lots of vacant apartments, as you can imagine. They’ll be up next Thursday for Father’s Day weekend. Should be fun. We have that new restaurant booked Saturday and maybe we’ll go for a hike or something too.

Only about 2 months until football! Can’t wait. Three months until hunting season! Four months until October! Then Thanksgiving and Christmas and then, wait for it, 2026! Time flies.

No public service announcements today, lucky you! Have a great Sunday. Make it a great day and God Bless.

Grey Man

Anyone know what the grey man is? Or who he is? If you don’t, he’s succeeded. A grey man is the term for someone who blends in and doesn’t attract attention. In other words, a nobody who you wouldn’t give a second look. These days it’s advantageous, in certain times, to blend in and not stand out in a crowd. I’m sure you’ve all seen Matt Damon in the Jason Bourne movies. He’s an excellent example of a grey man. I mention this as more and more these days, unsuspecting people are becoming victims of random robbery and other crimes, just for being out in public. Truth is, there’s nothing random about it. What they’re wearing or driving, or even how their acting is like a worm on a hook to criminals looking to commit a crime of opportunity. I read an article about a guy who was surprised his truck was broken into and his gun was stolen, when he had a sticker on his back window that said, “Protected by Smith and Wesson”, hmm. Point is, there are times when you don’t want to stand out, traveling in a foreign country is one example. I used to not let Lori wear her jewelry or Rolex when flying alone to California years ago. Why attract attention as a single female traveling alone. Just a heads up as more and more these days, criminals are looking for targets, and they’ll always, and I mean always, chose the easiest one!

James is playing in Tampa this weekend, last night and tomorrow night. He texted this picture of Burm’s Steak House which has an entire dessert room or restaurant within the restaurant. They’re pretty famous and also have over 1 million bottles of wine. They of course gave him a private tour of the whole place, and he shared the pics. He gets special treatment wherever he goes, we can’t figure out why, ha. I got an email yesterday that all four of us, James, Marty, Davy and I, got our archery elk tags for our hunt in September. We’re packing in on horseback for a week hunting elk with bows. Can’t wait. We need to dust off our bows now as we’ll be leaving three months from next Tuesday.

Ty’s off today. Jag and Ava are looking for apartments. Hope they end up down by DU rather than near downtown. It’s a much nicer, quieter and a safer neighborhood. Can’t wait until they come up next weekend. His car is in the shop and should be done next Thursday. We’re waiting on some wires as something, a mouse or gopher or something, chewed the wires going to the solenoid. That’s costing us $751 bucks! Always something.

Hard to understand all the anti-sematic attacks these days. It’s like Nazi Germany all over again. Up until 5 or 6 years ago, you never heard of people attacking Jews. What’s even harder to understand is all the people supporting terrorists like Hamas. It’s directly due to what our colleges are teaching, no other explanation for it. Just another example of people not thinking for themselves or just following the crowd. My generations’ motto was Question Authority. Different times. If I was Jewish, I’d practice the grey man principles I mention above. I’d do everything not to stand out in a crowd and attract attention. Point is, try to avoid being a victim. There is an opposite tactic, but not everyone can pull it off. That’s to look like someone that is the last person a criminal, or for that matter, anyone would want to mess with. Usually this is the route I go. At 6’4″, 200 pounds, it’s easier to look menacing and like someone you don’t want to fuck with. In public, I always have my head on a swivel and walk and look like I have an attitude. Often people are wary or scared of me, which I’m 100% ok with. If you’re going to stand out in a crowd, you’d better look and act like an alpha and not the vulnerable one in the pack. Think of a pack of wolves. You can spot the alpha male and easily spot the submissive weak members of the pack. Looking like someone you don’t want to cross or even make eye contact with, works if you can carry that attitude. If you’re in public and come across a member of a biker gang like the Hells Angels, you know what I mean.

That’s it for today. Re-reading this post is like reading a public service announcement, ha. Just my two cents. Someday when the kids go back and read this, it will hopefully give them a sense of what was going on in the World at this point in time. It’s really unbelievable what we as a society, have morphed into. Mom and Dad would be shocked. Anyhow, be well, stay safe and God Bless, and don’t act like a victim, or you will end up being one!

One more day

The heat wave is coming. After today, which will be a little misty and overcast, 80-degree temps are coming. Looks like they’ll be around at least through next week.

Yesterday Lori was busy busy. We managed to get a few other things done, including a trip to Costco later in the day. This morning we’re headed to the gym and then Eleni is meeting us at Hovey for coffee.

No cigar night last night as everyone was busy. We’ll get together next week. The GoPro Games are in Vail this weekend which makes for a packed town.

Jag and Ava are doing their thing in Boulder. Exciting time for them. We found a couple nice, smaller homes, in the $600K range, down in Arizona. We’re trying to figure out just what we want to do.

Nice outside right now. Feels good. That’s it. Time to get going. Take care, be safe and God Bless.

Pretty morning

Blue sky and green trees, mixed in with a few white clouds, are blessing us this morning. It looks like a great day ahead of us! 6:07am right now and soon we’ll be off to the gym.

Yesterday I was in Longmont and then stopped in Boulder for some groceries before heading home. I was going to see the kids but they had an apartment tour at 11am. On Vail Pass, I was stuck for 45 minutes due to some tourist who didn’t know how to drive in the mountains. Typical for this time of the year. He or she, crashed their Ford Explorer and trailer they were pulling, into something. It was a nice day so no big.

Today Lori and I have a few calls and she has a lot of surgeries to schedule. We’re thinking of going to Davy’s ranch down in Gunnison tomorrow and staying the night. We’ll see how the weather looks.

I’m finally back down to 200 pounds on the nose. I respond pretty quick to eating right. Only takes me three or four days of discipline to get back in the groove. I only eat real food, no processed foods and little to no sugar. Yesterday it was fresh organic cantaloupe and blueberries with French yogurt and eggs. That was it for the day. Add in my collagen in my coffee and I’m good to go for the day. I’m sure no one cares but I’m documenting it anyhow, ha. It’s positive reinforcement for me.

More measles cases reported in Denver. This is directly due to illegal immigrants who are not vaccinated coming in droves to the U.S. My entire life, measles were not even mentioned as we all had the measles shot when we were kids. Well, you get what you vote for.

Looks like a warm weekend ahead. A few clouds today and tomorrow before the sun kicks in full blast. There’s no place prettier than the mountains in the summertime.

That’s it, time to move and groove. Make it a great Thursday and God Bless.

Almost here

Today Lori works in Vail and I was thinking of going down to Boulder to see Jag and Ava but am still on the fence. We’ll see. We had a little rain yesterday but as the week goes on, our chances go down. It’s not quite as humid this morning as it was yesterday.

Yesterday, Ty drove down to Grand Junction to the farm, to pick up strawberries for work. I don’t think he’d ever been there and said it was a nice drive. They pay for his gas, and he still gets paid as if he’s working at the restaurant.

Summer’s almost here! I think this weekend it should kick in as they say the temps will be in the 80’s. Soon we’ll be praying for rain. Our allergies seem to be picking up as things continue to bloom. I don’t remember ever having allergies when I was younger.

I’d like to get some cleaning done downstairs today and, in the garage, if I have time. Probably won’t, but I need to get down there sometime.

Moose attacks are up! Three in the last ten days. They’re very protective of their young and now is the time moms are walking around with calves. They will charge you! Bet that sounds funny if you live in California, right Annette?

That’s it, time to get moving, almost 6am. Have a great day and God Bless.
