They’re out!

Yesterday by 11am, Ty’s wisdom teeth were out. He did well and wasn’t in much pain when they finished. They did use a local to knock him out which was the way to go. A few hours later the pain started kicking in as the numbing was wearing off. One of the pieces of gauze’s he had in his mouth, he accidently swallowed while eating. His mouth was so numb he couldn’t tell. He tried to cough it up but ended up swallowing it. No big as it’ll come out in a day or two, ha. Hope he’s feeling better today. He needs to lay low again today.

We had a nice day for our anniversary but really didn’t do much. Lori worked until around 6 here at home, and I ran back up valley to pick up her roses and a nice plant I had made in this real cool pot.

It’ll be in the mid 70’s today which is great! I’m thinking of smoking a pork butt in the smoker this weekend, weather permitting. Jag and Ava are having a blast in Grand Caymen. Who wouldn’t, right? They’re back late Saturday night.

I renewed our Broncos season tickets yesterday. We’re excited for the upcoming year. Ty is really happy as he goes to most all of the games and loves it. Lori and I will for sure be going this year too.

6:30 am now, time to get moving. Have a great Wednesday, stay safe (3 more shootings in Denver yesterday), be well and God Bless.

25 Years

This morning at 9, Ty is getting his wisdom teeth out. He’ll be done by 11am and then has the next few days off. Molly could use Ty back to work on Friday if he can, but he’s not scheduled until Saturday, just in case. He’s pretty tough though so I’m sure he’ll go back early. Lori and I were talking this morning about how when we had our teeth removed, there were no dental blocks or anesthesia, just shots of nonvaccine. Dr. Braxton was in the military and after having his pulled, he went right back to chemistry class, as he didn’t want to miss anything. Lori told him, well, you’re an overachiever!

Big news of the day is that today is our 25th anniversary! What a ride it’s been. We’ve done so much, had so many good times, had some adversity, but luckily, have always been there for each other. We really don’t fight at all. I’m so blessed to have met my soulmate as lots of people go their entire life without ever finding their perfect match. Nothing special going on today other than Ty’s teeth. Every day I’m with Lori is a special day and one I celebrate!

It was warm, albeit a bit windy yesterday. I did clean up the backyard and pull out the lawn chair getting ready for the sun. I sat out for 30 minutes or so soaking up some much-needed vitamin D. We’ll get more of that over the next few days.

We need to leave in about an hour as we have to go to Frisco for Ty’s appointment. We’re going to grab breakfast at this great place over there. I’ve been thinking about their chicken fried steak and eggs for the last 24 hours! I’ve always loved chicken fried steak. I’m down to 202 pounds which is a new low for me. I can’t remember when I weighed under 200 pounds, had to be college or maybe even high school. The difference today is I’m a lot stronger. Not sure what my ideal weight is. My body will let me know. I’m guessing I’ll end up somewhere between 190 and 195 when it’s all said and done. We’ll see.

I can remember every moment from our wedding day 25 years ago in Scottsdale. I’m sure Lori can still fit into her wedding dress, in fact, it’s probably too big on her! Not sure where my suit is or if I even have it anymore. What a perfect day it was. Can’t wait to see what the next 25 years bring, God willing!

Have a great day, God Bless.

Warming up

Should be in the 60’s today and the 70’s later this week. Jag and Ava took off around 5am for Houston where they’ll grab a connecting flight to Grand Caymen until Saturday. Excited for them.

Ty is supposed to get his wisdom teeth out tomorrow, but we need to call the dentist today to make sure he needs to get them out. There seems to be some confusion as I guess they’re coming in straight and are not causing any pain or issues. Lori or I never talked with the dentist, so we just want to make sure he needs them out.

Lori is in Vail today and I have a conference call at 9. Last minute loss for CSU yesterday with 3 seconds to go, but the Nuggets without our best player, stopped Houston’s 9 game winning streak. Only about a month until the NFL draft.

Today I’m on Day 11 of OMAD or one meal a day. I think I’m going for 30 days, 30 meals, but we’ll see how my body reacts. I’m down 11 pounds but more importantly more focused, have more energy, cleaning out my liver and my good cells are eating bad cells in my body. I have a separate blog to track my progress on this. I’ll give another update at Day 15 or Day 20, or whenever I stop. It’s really not as bad as it sounds. Saving a lot on food as I’ve only eaten 10 meals in 10 days! I eat a good balanced breakfast and then am done until the next morning. I can see Robi rolling her eyes right now, ha. Lori is quite impressed with my will power though.

Harley has been limping for a few days. Think she strained a muscle playing in the backyard. We’ll keep an eye on her and take her in if she doesn’t get better. She’s not in any pain though.

That’s it, one more week in March. We’re hoping the big snowstorms are over for the year. We could get another though, as that’s Colorado. Have a great day and week, God Bless.

Whoops

Up early, 5:15am or so. I noticed some lights in the driveway and realized I had started Jagger’s Audi yesterday (I start it every few weeks or so) and forgot to turn it off! So, his car had been idling in driveway for maybe 15 or 18 hours! All’s good though, temp was fine and everything is ok. Good test to know his car is now in tip top shape! Whoops.

6am and Lori just woke up. We’ll probably go to the gym. It’s warm outside right now. I noticed when I went out to turn off the Audi.

Jagger leaves at 3am for the Caymen Islands for Spring Break with Ava and her parents. Should be fun. They have a condo right near the beach and have some scuba dives scheduled while there. Ava got certified a month or so ago. I think they’re home Saturday.

I’ve been nursing a sore back for what seems like a week. I probably need to lay off the weights and just stick to the treadmill. I’ve been doing a mile to a mile and a half daily.

Soon the ski areas will be closing, and we’ll enter what’s called mud season. That’s the time between no skiing and Memorial Day when the town is dead. Lots of restaurants close and people head out of town before the summer rush. This happens again in the Fall between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. We like it as the crowds and tourists are gone. We’re looking at going to Arizona in April for a few days to get a jump on summer.

That’s about it, time to get moving. Have a great Sunday and God Bless.

Big Win

CSU in Ft Collins won their first NCAA Tournament basketball game yesterday. Big win for the school. They have an 11-game win streak going which is the longest in the Country. Good for them.

No snow outside although they said we’d be getting 6 to 10 inches. We might have a dusting on the grass but that’s it. Should start warming up now. Looks like everything winds up here in the next hour and it’ll be in the 70’s by mid-week. Spring is here!

Not sure if we’re going to the gym this morning or not. Probably will. Lori wants to Spring clean this weekend. I’d like to get some crap out of the garage.

Activist judges in small districts are making decisions for the whole Country by stopping the administration from enacting certain policies and laws. This is a tactic used by the Dems but in the end, all they can do is slow things down. Still unfathomable how they’re so upset at people finding stolen money, rather than being mad at those who stole it. I think the majority of the Country is for finding stolen money. The things coming out now, you couldn’t make up.

That’s about it, have a great Saturday and God Bless.

TGIF Again

Man, I love Fridays. Weekends are such a relief these days. Big week next week with Ty’s wisdom teeth coming out, our anniversary, although we have no plans, and closing the month. April is right around the corner, time flies.

What’s the deal with vandalizing Tesla’s? Six months ago, electric vehicles and Tesla were the darlings of the Dems. Now with Musk helping to find fraud, he’s the devil. It’s still so ironic that people are mad at the guy finding waste and fraud, rather than the people who stole and wasted our money. On top of that, most people who own Tesla’s are democrats! Can’t make this shit up. You know, all these protests, or crimes, are organized by left wing groups designed to cause chaos. A 24-year-old arrested in Ft Collins for starting a fire at a Greeley Tesla dealership faces 20 years in prison! His mom is saying he didn’t know what he was doing. They (whoever they are) told him to do it and showed him how to make whatever it was he threw at the dealership to set the cars on fire. So basically, she’s saying he was used by the left-wing fanatics and it’s not his fault. Ah sorry, 24 years old, he’s going to jail. Maybe he would have got a pass in Biden was still in office as they would have chalked it up to peacefully protesting. What these people who are damaging Tesla’s must not know is Tesla’s have a sentry mode that turns on 8 cameras and records anything happening around the vehicle. Lots of people are going to be in trouble, as they should be. So wild that this stuff is happening in America.

I threw my back out yesterday. Not all the way, but enough so it’s sore. We had a good cigar fellowship yesterday celebrating James Rush’s birthday. Lori made James and Ken (whose birthday it was last week) each a pan of enchiladas. They were both thrilled!

Warming up a bit today but they say maybe some snow tomorrow. Weather.com says a little over night but then maybe some rain tomorrow afternoon. Don’t think it’ll be a shoveling event. 7am now so time to get moving. Might skip the gym this morning with my back. We’ll see what lovely Lori wants to do. I can always walk on the treadmill. Have a great day and weekend and God Bless.

Warming up

Chilly this morning, so they say. I never really notice the difference between let’s say 10 degrees or 20 degrees. Mid 70’s are on the way next week.

Today is one of the guys in our cigar group’s birthday. He loves Lori’s enchilada’s so she’s making a pan for me to take with me to surprise him. James is off to the ranch in California for the weekend, so he’ll miss out.

Yesterday James and I hopped on a zoom call and finalized our hunt for the year. This year, James, Marty, Davy and I are packing in on horseback to bow hunt elk at 10,000 feet in Southwest Colorado. We’ll be leaving the rifles at home although we will carry sidearms (handguns) for bears and wolves. We’re super excited as it’ll be a change from our normal hunts. We need to dust off our bows and practice a bunch before September. Luckily Davy and I ride. Marty hasn’t been on a horse in 40 years and I’m not sure about James. It’s going to be fun. Just the four of us in the backcountry. Could even snow at that elevation in September!

Pretty sure we’ll be headed to the gym this morning as Lori hasn’t been in a few days. Not sure what’s up after that.

Last night three police officers were shot in Pueblo by a gang member that has 13 felonies and was still released on bail by the State. The police chief is livid that this guy was even on the streets. Hard to blame him. Wonder how the Gov or any politician that voted to let guys like this walk, would feel if they or one of their family members was shot by this dude. Oh, and he was an illegal too. Can’t make this stuff up, but here in Colorado, it’s not surprising.

Lori had an elderly man from Montana in yesterday (a patient) who said he left Colorado years ago as he saw things changing back then. They were talking about the horrible gun law the Dems are pushing, and he said he can’t believe it, and that he’s packing right now, and asked her, “do you want to see my gun”? She laughed and said good for you but that’s ok. Better to be prepared these days, even here in Vail.

Crazy times these days. You just have to keep on pushing along best you can. You can’t let the bad things consume every waking moment of your life, but it is a new time, and you do need to know things are different and adapt.

Hope everyone has a great day and a good weekend. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Getting after it

Lots going on. It’s one of those so so weeks. Lots of work, but nothing really exciting. At this point, we’re just trying to get to the weekend. Lori is in Vail today and I’ve got more work to do on the phone and computer. Ty works today and I think through Sunday or Monday as he gets his wisdom teeth out next Tuesday, which is also our anniversary.

Clear outside right now. We had a little snow on and off yesterday, but nothing stuck to the driveway or roads. Might have a few flurries this morning before it clears up for the foreseeable future. We didn’t make it to Grand Junction yesterday as planned, as the kids stayed out too late the night before. Oh to be 21, ha.

I’ll probably head to the gym this morning. Have to stay on the program. Today I’m one fifth of the way through a 30 day program I’m on. No need to go into details but it’s pretty aggressive.

I was just paying Lori’s Visa card on line and noticed a charge that wasn’t us. It was some place in Arizona called the Beatitude’s Lounge for $400! We certainly were not in Arizona last Friday. Someone must have scanned her card with a card reader at a gas station or something. This is why you have to review your activity.

That’s it, time to get moving. Have a great Wednesday and God Bless.

Windy

No snow, but the wind was howling most of the night. Today, Ty, Madi and I are going to Grand Junction to see Jerry. Jerry is this old cowboy and rodeo star who now sells hats and boots at a hole in the wall western store. I have a hat from him that needs stretching or something. Think I’ll just have him take it back and set Ty up. We’re taking two cars so the kids can hang out and go to lunch and mess around town.

We went to the gym for a quick workout yesterday. Then Lori was off to the hospital. I had made reservations for us to go to Whitefish mid-May, but we cancelled them after checking the weather. Think we’ll go in June instead and hit Arizona in May.

Colorado was just ranked the 8th most difficult State to retire in. This is based on a lot of metrics but what it means is your money just doesn’t go very far here. It’s still a really great State but man, do we need a hard right turn. Hopefully in a year, we’ll have a Republican Governor. That would do a lot to fix things.

Big Nuggets win last night with 3 of our 5 starters out. I didn’t stay up for the whole game but nice to see them win. We’re sort of in a lull in sports waiting for the NFL Draft at the end of April.

6:45 now. That’s it for today. Take care and God Bless.

St Patrick

Get your green out! When we were kids, if someone wasn’t wearing green, you could pinch them. Today, you’d probably end up in jail for that!

Yesterday after the gym, we hung around the house. Robi sent a picture of her with Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone and a bunch of other favorite shows of ours. She was at a reining clinic in Scottsdale, fun.

Ty works again today as a week from tomorrow, he’s getting his wisdom teeth out. He’ll be off for a good 3 days then recuperating.

Lori has a 30-minute Pilates session at 7 this morning so we need to leave in 30 minutes. Lori is then going to a conference to take some pictures of Dr. B. for social media. He made it back from Costa Rica yesterday.

Should be warm today, then a little crappy tomorrow before finishing the week with seasonable temps. We’re excited about Spring. We’re planning on getting down to Arizona in April and going up to Montana in May.

Time to get moving. Have a great day and week and wear some green. We probably won’t have corned beef today as we didn’t get out and buy any. We’re trying to eat pretty clean right now. Be well, stay safe and God Bless. I do like corned beef though 🙂
