Christmas Eve

Here we are, Christmas Eve 2021. Sure came fast. Last night was wonderful. Couldn’t have been more fun. James arrived around 5, he’s usually early and then about an hour later Mark, Shelly and Clark arrived. Marty and Melanie and Max were stuck in traffic as Vail Pass was closed so they ended up getting here around 7. Lori was the hostess with the mostess. The house was spectacular and so was the food. It was like we were at The Plaza Hotel out of the movie Home Alone with everything perfect. Lots of laughs, good food, cigars and even some presents. Everyone had a great time and we wrapped up around 11pm.

Tonight we have more of the same. Dixie will be up for dinner, and I think James might be back with us. This morning Jag has an appointment to workout with a trainer at the gym but not sure if he’ll make it so I’ll go instead.

Tom called last night and said not to drive down as he was worried that we’d get stuck, and Lori would be all alone for Christmas. We’ll now go down the day after Christmas. Up to 2 feet of snow by the time it’s all over tomorrow morning. He has dinner plans tonight and tomorrow so that’s good. Hate for us not to be able to go down but you can’t mess with Mother Nature, ha.

Enjoy the day, it’ll be over soon and then before you know it, 2022. Hell, before we know it, it’ll be 203 the way time flies! Merry Christmas and God Bless to all.

The countdown begins….

Party today, party tomorrow and party Saturday, here we go. Lots to do and on top of it all, a foot of snow or more is in the forecast. Hope it holds off until tomorrow night so we can get down and up to Tom’s.

Ty was boarding yesterday while Jag and I went to the gym. I went earlier in the morning but we both went again in the afternoon. Think I’ll take a break until Sunday.

Lori is working away. She’s made parmesan popsicles which is baked parmesan on a stick, her famous cheesecake and a bunch of other things. I have to crack 10 pounds of crab this morning and we need to fix our Christmas lights outside.

Hope everyone is healthy. Take your vitamins, especially C, D and Zinc. Be well and God Bless.

122221

Today is one of those weird number days. Some people have all kinds of theories about numbers but I’m not sure what it all means. Anyhow three days to go until Christmas, two until Christmas Eve and one until Christmas Eve Eve and our party tomorrow.

I was in and out of Denver pretty quick while Lori worked from home. Ty was on the mountain at Beaver Creek and Jag hung out with mom. Last night Jag and Lori went to see the new Spiderman movie after she brought Dixie up for dinner.

James made it home from San Francisco and his kids all have covid. He’s negative and they all arrived from places like New York and went to their mom’s house in Vail. He dropped off some at home tests and food and stuff. Fauci says it’s really quite safe on planes yet most people I know and read about get it from being on a plane, hmm. Can’t believe anyone listens to this guy anymore. Hope it goes away soon. Tired of this crap.

I’m headed to the gym and Lori’s off to work in Vail. Jag and I were messing around with my crypto accounts which I opened in 2017. They’ve had a nice little run as I bought about $1000 back then and just let it sit. Jag has been investing in various crypto so I told him I’d transfer some to him. Still not big on it but I’ve been watching it more frequently. Strange times.

That’s it, time to get moving. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Full House

Last night around 5 Jag made it home! Ty was at the mountain and lost his car key somewhere while snowboarding. Sonny was in Eagle so he picked up the extra key and drove it to Ty. Lexi met Jag for dinner and then they came back here for cake for his birthday. They’re such good friends. They’ll probably end up together someday, ha.

Today the cleaners come and so does our stone guy. I’m off to Denver for a quick errand and should be home before 2. I just turned Jag’s lights off at 5:30. He fell asleep with them on. Dixie is a bit confused. She thought she was on a train again and was packing up her stuff to get off when it made it to Oklahoma. Poor girl.

Our new rowing machine arrived and is set up. I worked out on it a little yesterday and will be on it again this morning.

Thank God for Joe Manchin who saved the Country from the Democrats disaster of a spending bill. No need to get into the details as it appears to be dead, thank God!

That’s it, 12/21, wow. Ten days until 2022. God Bless.

Here we go

Big week, we’re in it now. Today Jag gets home, I have my new rowing machine being delivered this afternoon, think/hope the stone guy will be here this afternoon to fix the counter, tomorrow the house cleaners are here, we need to get to the grocery store and Lori needs to finalize the plan for Thursday’s dinner.

Ty and some friends went to the game yesterday. Our coach should be fired. Seems like I say that every week. Not sure what Ty’s doing today. Think he wants to go snowboarding but we’ll see. Lori must have done 10 loads of his laundry yesterday. Think she’s working in Vail a bit today.

One thing about house cleaners is you have to clean before they clean. Lots to straighten up and put away. 11 days left in the year, Then it’s on to 2022, wow!

Hope all’s well, take care, be thankful and cherish each moment, God Bless.

Happy Birthday Tom!

Today is the day, Tom’s 61st birthday, whoo hoo! Yesterday we had a fun lunch. Afterwards we headed back to Tom’s after stopping at Le Gateaux Bakery and as soon as we arrived, Lori noticed she left her purse at the restaurant. So the boys stayed with Tommy while Lori and I rushed back to the place to pick it up. When we made it back to Tom’s we sang Happy Birthday and had cake. We all had fun.

Tom saved his presents for today and Ty is stopping by on his way to the Bronco game. Jag had a party last night and will be home tomorrow.

Clear and cold up here. Think it’s pretty much going to stay that way through Christmas. Lots to do today but first up is the gym so time to get going. Hope Tommy has a great day! Should be a good day to watch football. God Bless.

Birthday lunch!

We’re off this morning for sushi with Tommy and Jagger. Ty worked a couple hours and then spent the night at Sonny’s. He should be home by 7 this morning so we can get on the road.

Lori and I worked and then hung out yesterday. Lots going on. Today is Keith Richards birthday! So, we have Jagger, Keith and then Tommy. Didn’t know Tommy was ever in the Rolling Stones, ha! No new snow but it is cold outside. Lori went and saw her mom a couple times yesterday and went to work at the hospital.

We should be on the road by 8:15 this morning and then home around 5. Lori made a birthday cake and it should be fun day. Big week coming up! Hope you all are ready, take care and God Bless.

20 Years!

Happy Birthday to Jagger! 20 years old! How time flies. He’s staying down until Monday morning hanging with his friends but we’re all having lunch tomorrow. Still can’t believe he’s 20.

Lori and I made it to Denver around noon and were home around 6:30. Ty finished his finals and we’re waiting on some grades but he did do well on his AP Gov final which raised his grade. Stats is the one he’s a little unsure of. In any case he worked hard and has one more semester before he graduates. He and I are running to Glenwood to drop some wine in about 30 minutes and then he’s headed snowboarding on the mountain.

Today we’re doing some things around the house and getting ready for tomorrow’s big birthday lunch with Tommy and Jagger. Lori is baking a cake today for Tom.

We had a dusting of snow and Ty wants to leave in 20 minutes so time to get moving. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Last Day

Yesterday Ty had two finals and one presentation. He thinks they went well. We sure hope so! I think Jagger is all done. Ty has one more presentation today and his AP Stats test and then is done. He needs to do well on his Stats test for sure.

Lori is having Phoebe do her hair today. Think I’ll go along and return a small thing to Neiman’s. We should be home by 5 is we’re lucky.

With the help of Brian my neighbor all the snow is cleared off the driveway. He has a little 4 wheeler with a plow. I drove Lori to Vail where she and Dr. B. waited out the weather until the pass was open. Then they went to Frisco to finish the day. Luce drove her home and she arrived around 6:30 or 7.

Time to move. Almost 7 am. Hope all’s well. God Bless.

Finals

Here we go, today finals begin, assuming we can get to school. Like clockwork the wind started blowing hard at 5am. It’s blowing so hard it blew our Adirondack chairs across the back patio. Their swirling winds making it hard to see outside. I’m sure we’re getting 50 mile an hour gusts right now. Not sure if we can get to school and really doubt that Lori can get over Vail Pass to Frisco. With storms coming from the west, what we have going on here hasn’t hit Vail yet. We’ll see where we are in an hour.

Last night at 2 I heard some banging outside. I jumped from my bed to see what was the matter, I opened the door to find a large buck standing next to the house eating a frozen pumpkin sitting on Mom’s old milk can. He was banging his antlers against the house as he was eating the pumpkin. I picked it up and threw it out in the front yard where he was waiting patiently to finish his midnight snack. Not sure where he is now but I’m sure they are all bedded down somewhere with this weather.

Ten days until Christmas! Things will start moving fast. Time to get moving so I can see what we’re going to do. Take care, be safe and if you’re in Colorado, batten down the hatches. God Bless.
