Novemberrrr

Snow and cold temps coming this weekend. I think starting on Sunday morning. Just when I need to go get Lori, ha. Today though I think we’re in the 60’s and maybe even the 70’s. Jag found out last night that school is going to 100% on line learning for the rest of the semester. This means until at least January 14th, no in person classes. He’s debating when to come home as a lot of his friends are leaving school and going home now which is about 2 weeks early. Meanwhile Ty goes back to in class learning next week but only 2 days a week, Monday and Thursdays.

Lori made it to Sacramento fine. She’s hunkered down at Dixie’s for the next two days. It seems like a Saturday even though it’s Friday. I’d like to get snow tires on her car today but I think that’s pretty unlikely.

I just saw an ad on tv where some woman is asking us to only interact with our family for the rest of the month Good luck with that. I mean it’s not like we’re having parties but you still have to go to the store, go to work and oh yea, there’s that holiday called Thanksgiving. The great news is even though cases are up, deaths are way down.

Looks like Biden will probably win. Unbelievable. Lori and I cannot believe just how many people voted for such a socialist platform. Good news is it looks like the Republican’s will hold the Senate meaning not much will get done. Either way, things are not good. 70 million people voted for Biden and about an equal amount voted for Trump. Normally that’d be fine but with our inability as a Country, in 2020, to count votes from an election, whoever loses will feel cheated and that the other side stole the election from them. You can’t believe ANYTHING on tv anymore so you believe what you want to believe to support your side and you dismiss the rest. I’m at peace with it and have faith in God’s master plan. May sound corny but what else can you do. I mean we survived Obama, even when he had control of the House and the Senate. The bad news is our Country will never be the same. I sure miss the 70’s, ha.

Time to walk the dogs. Hope you all are well, stay safe and God Bless.

Going to California

We’re out the door at 7 this morning to get Lori to the airport to go see Dixie. The election is a mess. There’s clearly fraud going on in so many different areas but what’s new. Jag had a flood in his dorm room that he had to clean up, ugh. Harley was supposed to go to training in Utah but was too scared and skittish to go. She needs me to take her down to the stores and walk her around a bunch of people to get her more comfortable with lots of people at the same time.

It’ll be interesting to see what’s going on in Denver. I think so far things are calm as they don’t know yet who won the election. I think Arizona might turn to Trump even though the AP called it for Biden as there’s 600,000 votes yet to count. Hard to believe in 2020 things aren’t better organized. As long as the Republican’s hold the Senate, go ahead and give the other team the ball. If that happens, I bet any talk of the virus stops right away. We’ll see. I wonder what the news will do for four years without Trump to bash.

Colder weather coming this weekend and I think then 40 during the day and 15 to 20 at night will be the new norm. Lori comes back Sunday which is right before the snow arrives. I do need to get her snow tires.

Hope everyone is well and I pray to God that all the division and the virus soon goes away. We need to get back to life! Be well, be safe and God Bless.

Days?

Looks like we won’t know who won for not hours but days. Unbelievable. Not sure how in 2020 State’s are not able to count votes on election day. Good news is the Republicans will hold the Senate. This means even if Biden somehow steals the election, he will be mostly blocked by a Republican Senate. Still though, we’re all better off if Trump wins. The thing to watch is that democratic officials in States where we don’t know are allowing late mail in ballots that are not signed and don’t have witnesses. Hence, they’re ripe for fraud.

In an hour I’m off to Grand Junction for snow tires. I should be back by 1 or 2. Lori is in Vail today and Ty is home. Tomorrow, as of right now, she’s still flying to California. We’ll see how things are going tonight.

Hope the undecided election puts a pause on any violence. We’re pretty much isolated up here but I worry about the cities and our Country. God help us and God Bless America.

Here we go

First up, no matter who you vote for, be thankful you live in a Country where you get to vote. I could dig deeper and we could discuss whether or not your vote actually matters but we’ll save that for another time. Just make sure you vote.

Now to the day. You need to be aware of your surroundings. Violence is a possibility. Probably not today but in the coming days for sure. Make sure you have some groceries and supplies so you don’t have to go out, especially if you live in a big city. We’ll know much more by tomorrow about how this will all play out.

Up here it’s beautiful. James stopped by on his way home from his ranch as he leaves for California for two weeks tomorrow. He has a big on line benefit concert on Zoom in a week or so. He’ll get back the day before Thanksgiving and will spend the holiday here with us. Ty is at Preston’s in Vail and Harley goes to Utah tomorrow for 5 days of follow up training.

Jag is doing well and I might see him today as I am in Longmont around noon. I need to get snow tires on the cars this week as well. Snow coming this Sunday here and down in the city.

So, be well, keep your powder dry and watch your top knot! Look those sayings up if you don’t know what they mean, and may God Bless you and the U.S.A. I fear after this election, no matter who wins, our Country will never be the same.

One more day

Thankfully tomorrow all the political smears and lies, also known as ads, stop. I stopped listening to them weeks or even months ago but they sure are annoying. They’re boarding up cities across the Country anticipating problems after the election.

Ty made it home around 7 last night. After we went to the gym in the morning we decided to put up our Christmas tree. After tweaking it all day, it looks perfect! No ornaments on it yet but it’s ready to go.

I’ve had allergies most of the week. No fever or anything, just a stuffy nose. Jag has a little sore throat too. Time for chicken soup and vitamin C. It was a beautiful day yesterday and is supposed to stay that way until the weekend. Lori leaves Thursday to see her mom. Timing is good if you don’t count the virus and the election and the weather, ha. She’ll be back Sunday.

Two more kids at Ty’s school have covid. We might just keep him home this week, just in case.

Last, the Broncos had an epic comeback to win the game yesterday. Tommy and I must have texted 50 times and were both in shock at the win. What a game, God Bless.

A New Car!

After picking up the Audi, which had been in Denver at the dealer all week with a weird problem due to two proprietary batteries, we drove up to see my buddy who runs the Mercedes dealer in Westminster. I had called him and he gave me a bid that covered our payoff and then a little bit just in case. He also gave me a discount off whatever we wanted that he had. With winter coming on and the Porsche just sitting in the garage we took the opportunity to throw it in on any potential trade and go from the expense of two cars to one to save money. Our insurance also dropped about $1400 a year. So, after Lori scoured the lot and sat and drove a bunch of cars, (for over two hours!) we finally went with an AMG E 53 Sedan. This is a big change for us as it’s a car and not an SUV. We haven’t had an actual car for at least a dozen years since we had a Cadillac. After driving home, we knew we made the right choice. It’s luxurious, all wheel drive, has 429 horsepower and will make a great road trip car. It’s still sporty and it’s fast and it wasn’t anymore than the Audi. Lori loves it. It does come with performance tires so I will need to get winter tires for it but that’s it. Pictures to come. Jag was lobbying hard for this over an SUV. Maybe he thinks he’s going to be cruising in it, ha.

Speaking of Jag, he’s doing great. Has lots of friends, I think mostly girls, and is loving college. We stopped at Whole Foods in Boulder and drove past a huge Trump rally with a wide demographic of people smack dab in the middle of Boulder. How cool is that? Ty is in Denver coming home today. I think the Halloween party was cancelled so they went to a haunted house instead. We had one trick or treater, Theo, who is Robert and Lindsey’s, (cousin Lee’s son and daughter in law), little boy. He was dressed as an astronaut and looked great. We gave him probably 50 candy bars and he was thrilled. We remember those days well.

Lori is crushing it at work. After getting a frantic call yesterday morning, she managed to get one of her patients in I think tomorrow who fractured her hip. They live in Florida and fly private so they can zip on up here with no notice. Lori is the “go to girl” for many wealthy patients around the World and these people love her. Their family invented a famous sports drink in the 80’s. Her doctor even came to her saying that even though she’s not supposed to get a bonus until after working their a year per clinic policy, they feel she should get one now. They also told her to decide what she thinks she deserves but said they can’t do a million dollars. What a compliment. She has lots of things in store to continue on her plan to reshape the entire practice. There are a lot of incompetent people working there though so that’s her biggest challenge. Oh well, knowing Lori, she’ll get it done.

We’re going to walk the dogs and then head to the gym. Hope you all turned your clocks back. Can’t believe they’re changing the name of Columbus Park in Denver. Shit is out of control. Thank God we live where we live but we’re not immune from the pc culture and idiots either. I miss the old days. Must be getting old if I can say that!

Enjoy the day and Happy November 1st, God Bless.

Happy Halloween

We have pumpkins, but no kids. This is the first Halloween Lori and I are alone. Maybe we’ll go out.

This morning we’re off to get the Audi. Ty is at Preston’s and Jag of course at college. I stopped by the gunsmith and mall yesterday before heading home. No one we know is sick thank God. It’s warming up and the dogs are fine. Not much else going on here. Send some Halloween pictures if you get any, God Bless.

Halloween Eve

Tonight is the night before Halloween. Ty is headed to Denver to stay with Preston until Sunday. Should be fun. The good thing about Halloween is everybody is wearing a mask, right?

Yesterday Lori and I were on the way to get the Audi after dropping Ty at school but thankfully we received a call letting us know not to come as it wasn’t fixed. A new battery arrives today so hopefully we’ll be good to go by tomorrow. Lori works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before going to California on Thursday so tomorrow is our window.

It’s still cool up here at night, mid 20’s, but not cold. Clocks fall back an hour tomorrow night. 70’s next week which means 65 or so up here and supposedly no moisture.

Hope you all are stocking up! Cleaning supplies and other food items are starting to disappear. One concerning report shows a few counties with 90% plus of the people wearing masks and cases still going up. Apparently something else is going on, hmm.

Stock up on Vitamin C, Zinc, Elderberry Syrup and over the counter cold medicines. I’ll skip politics but many people are skipping regular doctor visits which is not good. When Trump says the cure, meaning total isolation, can’t be worse than the disease, this is what he means. I’ll stop now but do what you have to do, think for yourself and just be careful.

God Bless.

Lori’s car

Today hopefully we’ll get her car back from the dealer. There’s a small chance we won’t but we’ll know more at 8am. Ty has school and then is working out. Lori and I will head to Denver after dropping him off.

Lori had a great day yesterday at work after getting some patients that were going to see Dr. C. (her old doctor) to switch to Dr. Braxton for surgery. If you knew the inside info, there’s no choice.

It’s warming up today and will continue into next week. With all the covid cases rising Lori is just going to visit her mom next week and not bring her back right now. We’ll wait until Christmas to get her out here.

Time to feed the dogs and get moving. Don’t believe the polls, just vote, God Bless.

Stocking up!

Looks like cases are rising again. Not sure what this means for Lori going to get Dixie in a week or so. I know parts of Denver are closing down or tightening restrictions. This means little time left to stock up on needed items. Here we go again.

It’s cold but warmer than it was. Every day it’ll get a little warmer all week until we’re back in the 60’s by the weekend. Not sure about Halloween with cases on the rise. Ty will be in Denver as of right now.

Jag is doing well. I dropped his ballot to him yesterday. Lori’s car is still being worked on. That’s it, we have a busy week. I’m driving Lori to Frisco this morning at 7:15 so time to go, God Bless.
