Top of the class!

I was in Denver yesterday for my new tires only to learn we have a cracked wheel. So now the Mercedes is being towed on a flatbed, for free thank God, by Mercedes to Denver in about 10 minutes. While down I went to the bank and was going to meet Jag but couldn’t wait as the tire was losing air, so I left an envelope for him with cash with a teller. Turns out Jag just received a $500 check from his fraternity for having the top GPA, meaning grade point average, nice!

Anyhow I limped up the hill stopping for air four times after trying to put some epoxy on the cracked wheel but now it’s losing air faster. Chris at the dealer told me to call Roadside Assistance which is free for me, who knew? Just had to run outside as Bobby my tow truck driver was here. Car will be ready Thursday as the wheel comes from Grapevine Texas, ugh.

We have our tree up, no ornaments, just the tree. Need to go to the hardware store and get a bolt or something for the stand. It’s always something. Hope to wrap that up today. Might go to the gym but I strained a triceps muscle two days ago. Thought I ripped it as I felt it basically rip when lifting. I immediately stopped and dropped the weights and now it just feels like I worked out really really hard. If I tore it my arm would have filled up with blood and it would have turned purple like a big bruise. Lucked out on that one. Should probably take it easy for a few days.

7am now so I might as well get moving and go to the gym. Ty went to Glenwood for the football game last night. He sure is loving his truck and new found freedom.

Looks like the House passed the infrastructure bill last night to repair roads and bridges. Biden will be taking a huge victory lap but in reality it was a true bipartisan bill which the Senate, both republicans and dems, passed over a month ago. This should have been done in September but Biden thought he’d get cute and tie it to the big spending bill with useless things like tax breaks for reporters, money for illegals, amnesty and more. It’s 2000 pages long and no one even knows what’s in it. You can bet they snuck some crap in the infrastructure bill too, that’s the way they work. Anyone seen Nancy Pelosi lately? How is this 81 year old with dementia even allowed to make decisions for the people of the Country? No way the Senate will pass the current version of the second bill though, thank God.

Time to go, be well, stay safe and God Bless.

One more try

5:30, off to Denver in 45. Hope to have the new tire on by 9. Then I’ll see Jag around 10:30 and head up the hill. Buying an extra tire in case this happens again. I hate low profile tires. Lori is staying home, Ty has school and no work tonight.

Dixie fell last night coming up from dinner. She’s fine. Not a long way to go to the ground at her height. Still not good at 90. Weather is nice. Should be warm today. Time to get moving. Not much else happening. Oh, the Dems can’t see the trees even though their standing in the middle of the forest. The people have spoken and yet they’re moving full speed ahead thinking they were shellacked because they didn’t spend enough, fast enough. Wow, how did any of these guys get in office? One thing’s for sure, they won’t be there long of they keep this up.

Time to go, God Bless.

Christmas?

After dropping Lori at 7 am I noticed a check engine light on the dash of the truck. I called my trusty service advisor Joe and he said he’d squeeze me in at 10 if I wanted to run down. With my week slammed I told him give me 20 minutes to get home and take a shower and I’ll be on the way.

By 9:45 I was in Denver dropping the truck. I grabbed a loaner vehicle and headed to Cherry Creek for some Christmas shopping. The stores were decked out in decorations. When they say shop early, they mean it. Hard to find things, even underwear for the boys was tough to buy. I had to have some things shipped to me from some stores. I found a few essentials for them and Lori and a new computer charger for myself but nothing that wasn’t practical. By 2:30 my truck was all done so I was headed up the hill around 3. Ty went home after school to let Harley out and feed her for me as she’d been in the house all day. I then had to leave a few hours later at 7:10 for another hour round trip drive to go get Lori in Avon. Ty made it home from work sometime around 10:30.

Tomorrow the Mercedes goes down for its new tire. I need to stop to see Jag in Boulder too. Today Ty is off to school early and we’re headed to the gym. Nice weather up here. I think Lori wants to put the tree up this weekend. Christmas is coming fast! God Bless.

There is hope

Not sure if you followed the elections last night but nationwide it was a blood bath for democrats. Not only did republicans sweep Virginia but they might win in New Jersey too. In the left wing cesspool of Seattle, all candidates that ran for abolishing the police also lost. In Buffalo New York, the AOC and Bernie Sanders hand picked mayoral candidate lost to a write in candidate. In Minneapolis they voted down getting rid of the police. I could go on but you get the point. Now the fear is how will the dems try to steal elections they lost. In New Jersey since midnight, the dem has gained 50,000 votes with the republican barely getting any. Not possible. The left leaning media, meaning almost every channel, was melting down. Twitter blew up making fun of them. In their words, anyone who didn’t vote democrat is essentially a right wing terrorist. Guess there’s millions of so called “terrorists” across the Country so be careful if you go anywhere today! MSNBC said and I quote, “White ignorance is a powerful weapon”, unbelievable. Who are these people? Thank God the people stepped up. Don’t get your hopes up though that Biden and his cronies will change direction. They’re too stupid to realize the people have spoken and they’ll just make up some excuse for their losses. The fight goes on.

Ty had an early dentist appointment yesterday and then worked until about 10 last night. I did six loads of laundry. I’m taking Lori to Avon today at 6:20 so she can ride with Holly, one of her PA’s, to Frisco for work. They have a long day as they have some big meeting in person and virtual tonight with hundreds of surgeons. Looks like I’ll get a lot of work done as I’ll be alone all day.

Jag is doing fine. He’s getting his windshield fixed today. Our tire is still flat and I pump it up every morning and night with a compressor in the garage. No snow here, just good rain. That’s it, time to go. I’ll head to the gym after dropping Lori. Make it a great day and God Bless.

Made it home

After deliberating whether or not to drive the car home, we said let’s go for it. We did need to stop three times for air on the way up but made it safe and sound. Now the car will sit in the garage until the new tires arrive from Iowa hopefully on Thursday. This means we’re down to one car for a few days. Looks like I’ll be driving Ms. Lori to work and back for a couple days.

Ty started work today at 3;30. He works until close which is sometime after 10. Tomorrow he has a dentist appointment at 7am so he’ll need to get some sleep.

Oh, sorry for the typos in yesterdays post. I had to do it from my phone. I went back and fixed it if you couldn’t understand it.

The concert was amazing. We’re still in awe of Andrea and the other performers. Such a different but great performance from what anyone is used to.

Jag is doing well and so is Ty. I have lots of work to do this month to close out the year and get ready for 2022. Meanwhile Biden is embarrassing our Country overseas. Today he fell asleep at the Climate Conference and had to be woke up by an aide. We also took hundreds of people and 84 cars and will contribute over 2 million tons of carbon to the environment, ha. On top of that, leaders and politicians and celebs, all wanting us to stop polluting, flew in on their private jets and there were so many they had to park them more than 30 miles away. They’re such hypocrites. You see everything they propose, is just for us peasants, not them. The World is in a real mess right now. Get ready, sorry to sound like a broken record but time is running out to prepare. Enough said, God Bless.

Amazing

We left pretty early yesterday for Denver. We had planned to shop a bit before the concert, until we hit a pot hole going up Vail Pass. By Georgetown we had lost 10 pounds of air from our front left tire. Luckily Marty hadn’t left and he grabbed his air compressor as no gas station in Georgetown had air.

We made it to the Ritz Carlton and parked up top. We’ll see how the tire is this morning but might need to leave the car at Tommy’s for a few days until we can get a new tire.

We all headed over to the concert around 6:45. I got us into the Media parking lot and in through the back stage door as the line out front was thousands of people long. We talked with our close friend Pete and he went and found Veronica who came to see us. Andrea was getting ready as we were late but it was great to hang out with Veronica , his wife. We’ve known her since she married Andrea so a good nine years now.

The show was amazing! Better than most all we’ve seen. It lasted until around 10:45 and then it was out the back door. By the time we made it back to the Ritz, Andrea and family were taking off in their plane for Palm Springs as Pete texted us. They have a private event tonight. We need to go to Italy and hang with them.

This morning Lori has a 7am Zoom and then we’ll work on the tire. We have a ride to Vail if we need it, that’s it, time to run, God Bless and Happy November!

Happy Halloween

Remember Halloween when you were a kid? I sure do. Probably more than any other holiday. I can remember most of the costumes mom dressed us up in and I think all were homemade. No store bought stuff when we were kids. Mom and the neighborhood would go all out. The Rossi’s, our neighbors, always had a hot dog cart out with hot chocolate for the kids and coffee for the parents. Mrs. Rossi would make these cinnamon candied apples which were the big hit every year. Also back then, most all candy bars were full size. My brother is one of the few who still hands out the big ones. Then there’s the kids years, the headless Jagger and Ty as a Power Ranger with Grandma, Jag as a pirate, and even my Mom as a witch. By the way, Lori dressed up one year as the cutest pirate wench herself. Fast forward to today and not sure what the boys are dressing up as or even doing. Lori and I will be at the Bocelli concert in Denver. Been thinking of maybe just making the drive home tonight. We have a room but we’ll see as she has a 7am Zoom call and I have one at 9.

Yesterday we went grocery shopping and then hung out. Good Nuggets game last night and a couple good football games. Lori went to visit her mom after dinner. She’s pretty needy these days and forgets that we have come to visit her and half the time forgets where she is. She sometimes thinks she’s in a hotel.

Ty had a rock hit his windshield yesterday, ugh. Not sure if we need to replace the whole thing or not, probably. Other than that, just the usual around here. I’ve been kicking some stomach thing for a few days. Think I had bad chicken soup or something. Finally a lot better today. November 1st tomorrow! 61 days until 2022, wow. Here’s a couple great pics, Lori made the outfits on the right! God Bless.

Winding down

One more day in October. Then it’s on to November. Yesterday Lori and I ran down to Denver to pick up a new truck for Ty. It was actually the same price as a good used one. The highway was closed in Vail due to a hazmat spill so we had to go through Leadville which added a good 30 minutes. The dealer where we do most of our business was all ready for us so we were in and out in 20 minutes. An hour and 30 minutes later we pulled into the school parking lot where Ty was waiting with some buddies. You wouldn’t have believed the smile on his face! His buddies were in awe and within minutes he and them took off. I remember the freedom of having your own wheels for the first time. He drove around for 20 or 30 minutes with them before coming home to shower to go back out to the football game. Then he was gone until 11:40pm. He did fine and is super responsible but I was a little nervous and stayed up until he made it home safely.

It was Halloween so he dressed up for school after basketball. He was a cowboy. Check out his moustache, ha. Today we’ll mess around here before heading down to Denver for the Bocelli concert tomorrow. We’re staying at the Ritz as Melanie got us two rooms. Should be fun but the weather is going to be a little iffy.

Jag went to get a haircut yesterday. Thought we might see him but he had to get back for a class. I’m taking Ty to the auto parts store today to get him some stuff for his truck. He starts his job Monday night and is paying $300 a month towards his car. It’s not the car that’s so expensive, it’s the insurance. Our insurance went up $467 a month with Ty now driving and that’s with a good grade discount. Ugh. That’s like almost $6000 a year!

Biden is now making a fool of himself across the globe rather than just here at home. I’m sure all the World leaders look at him and roll their eyes. It’s so painful to watch. Unbelievable that in 2021 he could even be President.

Time to go, enjoy the weekend, Monday is November! God Bless.

Friday!

TGIF and we mean it. What a month, what a week, bring on November. Of course we still have a few days left in October. We’d like to get Ty a car today and then we have the Bocelli concert Sunday and it’s Halloween. Of course now snow and cold in Denver on Sunday.

Today I’m starting no sugar and basically no carbs unless they’re in the form of vegetables. Should be fun, ha. Lucky I had pecan pie last week! Tom should probably be getting his tree up this weekend so it’s already to go for November 1st.

No gym today but Ty does have basketball meaning he needs to go early. If he had a car he could drive himself! Dixie came up last night for chili and watched the first half of the football game with us. What a game with a great ending and outcome. Go Green Bay!

No vote yesterday on Biden’s worthless spending spree. Latest is he wants to give $450,000 a piece to each illegal that came across the border and was separated from their family under Trump. Are you fucking kidding me? $450K? And by the way, this is YOUR money as the taxpayer will be paying the bill. Over 1000 people have applied for this already, why wouldn’t they, I would. Somebody needs to stop this train wreck known as the Biden administration right now. Please God, help! God Bless.

Disappearing

Ok, not going to say I told you so but…..everything is disappearing from store shelves. Been shopping lately? If by chance what you want is there, it’s now much more expensive and its size has shrunk. Check out cereal boxes if you don’t believe me. Fresh turkey has almost doubled in cost and everything you buy for your Thanksgiving dinner from rolls to cranberries to potato’s and gravy has also gone up. Hmmm.

Ty and I stopped to see Dix yesterday. She wasn’t wearing her oxygen so she was somewhat confused. We helped her put it on. She likes her place but says she gets bored. Then the next minute she tells us how busy she is. She also mentioned what a great view she has about 10 times. Then she asked when my wife Katie (her sister) was coming home.

Marty and I had lunch yesterday. We’re both planning out 2022 and setting goals. Hard to look ahead and get a handle on where the economy and markets will be next year. Lots of other stuff going on too. A big tree fell at Dixie’s house onto the neighbors wrought iron fence. There’s also some rot in the wood over hangs that needs to be fixed. Lori needs to call the insurance company today and get the homeowners policy on it. We don’t care if the rates go up as we’re selling as soon as we can. We want to get it on the market before anything else happens. We’ll need to go out and clean stuff out sometime soon, ugh.

Time to get moving. Thank God for some common sense in the democratic party. Most of Joe’s proposed bill is falling apart. He wants to pass something so bad, (as he has the lowest poll numbers of any President since WW2) that he’s willing to take anything. Problem is the progressive’s, about six of them, are holding him hostage on one end while two Senators with common sense are on the other end. Thank God.

That’s it, be well, stay safe and God Bless.
