Happy Halloween

It’s Halloween! Big day at school for the boys and 2 weeks from today we head off to Hawaii. Last night the boys and their friends hit Minturn in the sleet and snow. Jag dressed up as a rock star complete with makeup and all. Don’t tell him but Lori said he looks good in makeup, ha. Ty meanwhile, with a bunch of friends, was a Russian, complete with fur hat and all. After and hour or so in the snow, they all came back to the house. Emma who was with Jag, was the girl from Clueless (the movie) and she had to be freezing in her skirt. Today they’re all off to school dressed up again. We’ll try to get some pictures for tomorrow.

I’m off to Longmont today and Denver tomorrow. Lori is back at work and she’s dressing up as a Queen Bee and her nurses are bee’s while the doctor is going as a beekeeper. The clinic has a contest every year so the teams go all out. I’m just going as a cool older guy which I pretty much do everyday, ha.

I need to get moving so that’s it. Take some pictures of what’s going on in your neighborhood and text them to me and I’ll post them. Have a great day, November tomorrow! Christmas music starts 24/7 on the radio! God Bless.

Conferences and the flu

This morning we have Jag’s conferences at school at 7:50. Should be about 15 minutes long and we’ll just sit there and listen to them all praise him. Pretty boring huh. Both boys are then off for the day as the teachers have conferences all day long. Lori came home yesterday with something like the flu although she won’t admit it. The doctor gave her an antibiotic and sent her home and she was in bed by 3. She’s going to work today even though she should probably stay home.

No snow up here, it’s not that cold either. Must be a front range thing. Tom called me on yesterday’s post about slowing down as the second paragraph was all about all I had to do, ha. I didn’t read a book yesterday but I did read a couple of magazines.

Halloween is tomorrow and then Friday Lori goes to see her Mom (if she’s not still sick) and then Saturday I’m in Carbondale for an event, Sunday we have the football game (trying to decide whether or not to go) and Monday I need to go pick Lori up! How’s that for slowing down!

At least a week from today the political ads stop. Thank God. They should make a rule where you can only talk about your accomplishments and what you’d do rather than make stuff up about your opponent. The more a candidate bashes his opponent instead of telling us what they’d do, the less I trust them. We have a guy running for Gov that abused a woman who had to file a restraining order, then changed his name to hide from it, then got rich starting an E-card company with his parents and then filed for bankruptcy stiffing all his employees and he’ll probably win, ugh. We also have all the Dems blaming Trump for the awful shooting in Pittsburg. Unbelievable. Do they not know Trump’s daughter, son in law and grandkids are Jewish? No one blamed Obama for shootings when he was President or Bernie Sanders when his supporter shot up the Republican baseball game and  a congressmen. What a double standard. They make me sick. The Dems will probably win the house according to history and then we’ll have 2 years of Nancy Pelosi wasting time and money trying to impeach Trump. How’d that Russian collusion thing turn out? Turns out there was none but that doesn’t stop the Dems. What a disgrace. I’ll stop now.

That’s it, have a great day and God Bless.

Take time……

Time to slow down. Take a big breath, take a break, and just slow down. You’re not going to miss out on anything. In fact, you’ll probably take in more. Take time to notice the weather, your surroundings, where you live, the sky and more. We go through life so fast that we end up missing so much. When was the last time you just did nothing? I think to myself, today I’m going to take some time to read this book and then of course something comes up. The one thing that’s for sure, time doesn’t stop. So do something special or unexpected with your family and better yet, for yourself. Take a walk somewhere you’ve never been, learn a language or how to play an instrument, go fishing or to the theater or a museum, just do something you’ve never done, and make it a habit.

Well here we go, another week or hustle and bustle. Two weeks from Wednesday we’re off to Maui where I can promise you, we will relax and do some things we’ve never done. Before then though we have lots of work to get done. Both boys have extra work to do to finish up for the 3 days they’ll miss and Lori and I both have big weeks as usual.

Today I need to run down to Fed Ex and then get have a few conference calls. Lori of course has a busy day. It seems every day for her is a busy day. I keep telling her that her work will still be there tomorrow. Of course with people having surgeries, there are some things that actually can’t wait.

Jag is kicking a cold and Lori had the chills last night and didn’t feel well. I’m waiting for her to come down to see how she’s doing this morning. Halloween is Wednesday and we’re not sure what the boys have planned. I’m sure we’ll be running kids here and there. I did get the kitchen and living room cleaned during the Bronco game. Now today I need to tackle our room and the garage, again. Have a great day, God Bless.

A day of rest

Sunday, the day of rest. Hope it turns out that way. We made it to Denver and back after failing to find a white outfit for Lori but we did see Uncle Tom and Aunt Ali. They were fine and had Ali’s niece and husband visiting, meanwhile Ty was supposed to have cleaned his room, Supposed is the operative word here. It didn’t get done and now he has no phone. He has a lot of work to do around here before he’ll get it back.

The Colorado Buffalo’s suffered an epic loss yesterday but we’re hoping for better from the Bronco’s today. I’m so sick of political ads, we were talking that there should be a way to opt out after we’ve turned in our ballots. One candidate has even resorted to using his kids in a commercial against the President. This to me is amazing. You’re taking 5 and 6 year old kids and having them say bad things about Trump? Say what you will but this is not right and should be considered child abuse or indoctrination as the kids are too young to form their own opinions. It reminds me of the Hitler Youth. Good news is it’ll all be over in about 9 days.

Another shooting in Denver, surprise surprise. The big city in some spots is pretty dangerous these days. Look at the shooting in Pittsburg yesterday, the Dems are bummed that the shooter was not a fan of Trumps. Can’t bash him for this one. Have a great day, be safe and God Bless.

Last weekend of October

Here we go, it’s all downhill from now until the end of the year. With Halloween next Wednesday, the season begins. Thursday the radio station starts playing Christmas music 24 hours a day and a few weeks later is Thanksgiving and then you throw in a couple of notable birthdays (Jagger and Tom) and soon it’s Christmas. 2 months and 2 days from today is my birthday, ugh. When you get to be my age they come faster and you don’t really look forward to them.

Lori and I are looking for a dress for her today for the school gala. The theme is Winter White which is about the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of for a party in mid November. You can’t wear summer clothes so you have to go buy something you’d wear in winter that’s white. I’m just going to wear a white shirt, screw it. But if you’re a woman, you have to have an “outfit”, ha.

Ty and Sam (Dr. C’s daughter) and Sonny planned on going to a haunted house last night but it turns out it’s on Tuesday so they went to the movie Halloween instead. Big mistake! The scary movies they make these days are really scary. Ty didn’t want to go but went anyhow as the other two did. He’s like me and doesn’t like scary movies. Jag, Lor and I stayed home.

Jag is coming with us today while Ty will stay home and clean the mess known as his room. That was our deal when he needed cash for last night. I told him he needs to do a good job or I’m taking his phone which is about the only leverage you have with kids these days.

Now for the news of the day. Some lady bumped me in our Suburban leaving the gas station yesterday and earlier in the morning Lori pulled out of a parking spot and we think pulled a bumper off an old Subaru. We’re not sure but we think the running board on the truck caught on the bumper as she heard a clunk. No damage to our truck at all. We left a note but no one called us. Maybe they’ll call today. Lori feels terrible but I told her there’s millions of accidents every day, plus in just the past week, two of her patients died! One in a car wreck just two days ago right on I-70 and another older rancher on his tractor 4 or 5 days ago. When you put things into perspective, this isn’t that big of a deal, just something you deal with and move on.

That’s it, have a great day and God Bless.

Friday, yea!!!!

Thank God it’s Friday, really! It’s been a long week for all of us. The weather is getting nice and the weekend looks good. We’ll have to get outside as snow is coming on Halloween.

Yesterday went well with the girls from Germany. They were thrilled to be here as neither had been to the U.S. except for New York. They were in Los Angeles right before coming here but didn’t much like California. I took them to Boulder and then around Denver and then we had lunch before I turned them loose for the rest of the day and evening. We all learned a lot and strategized on how best to position the product in the market. It was a good visit.

Today we’ll all wind down the week. I think we’re in Aspen tomorrow as I need to go to a store in Carbondale and drop some promotional materials. Maybe we can squeeze in a hike.

We’re heading to Hawaii for Thanksgiving and will spend it with our friends James, Francesca and their family. Of course they have a huge house on the beach and we always have fun with them. The kids all have fun together too. It’ll be good to get a week or so oin the sun before winter kicks in full force.

Work is going well with lots of high level stuff going on. Too detailed to get into it but things are scaling rapidly. Time to run, hope all’s well, have a good last weekend of October. 60 days from yesterday is Christmas, wow. God Bless.

Market Survey

This morning I’m picking up two marketing girls from Germany by the airport and spending the day visiting stores. They’re from one of our partners that make our new spritzers in cans. We’re heading to Boulder and then working our way back until we get to about 29th and Larimer for lunch around 2 this afternoon. Then I’ll leave them on their own and tomorrow they fly back to Germany. They came from California last night.

Lori is off early again before 6 am. I’ll drop both boys by 7:40 as Ty has  makeup test at 7:45. Jag sees the concussion doc this afternoon to hopefully get cleared to go back to sports. After school yesterday at 4:30 we headed over to the Four Seasons Hotel so Ty and I could get haircuts. We then hung out and had some food in the bar before heading home.

We’re working away on our house. It’s been over 3 years since we started and we’re finally getting close to breaking ground. We’ve worked hard to get this far and now it’s finally getting close to happening. The inside is really cool and it took a lot to get the design where we wanted it. More to come but here’s a teaser picture to give you an idea of what it’ll look like. It’s hard to see but there’s even a really cool huge indoor outdoor dog run on one side of the house. The lot is a little over an acre and the backside of the house is incredible with views up a mountain valley full of aspen trees.

I should be home hopefully by 6 and Lori and the boys by 4;30. It’s nice up here but supposed to snow on Halloween! The kids will need to dress warm! God Bless.

A little rain

It’s sprinkling outside a bit. Not a downpour by any means but some good moisture. I took Mojo out last night when it was dark and he immediately sensed something up on the mountain. I turned on the flashlight as I always take one when it’s dark, and sure enough there were about half a dozen deer not far up the hill. Their eyes were shining in the light and as they do, they froze. He was on them from the beginning.

Both boys stayed at school until 6. Lori’s court reporter didn’t show up yesterday morning at 6 so they all had to wait for her until about 8. It made for a long day, 5:40 am until 5:30 pm yesterday.

Lori is off today and headed to the gym while I run down to Denver for a breakfast meeting. This afternoon I’ll be in Carbondale so lots of driving for me today. We also need to leave early as Jag has to bring breakfast this morning. Time to go, hope all’s well, GB.

Happy Birthday Robi!

Today is Robi’s birthday, whoo hoo. Hope they’re having fun on their trip. This morning Lori has a deposition at 5;40 am so we’re up early (it’s 5 am now) so she can get to work. Not sure when she’s done today. Mojo has had an upset stomach but did eat this morning. Ty and Jag both are knee deep in school work. Lots of shootings in Denver, seems like there’s more than normal. You sure need to watch your back these days.

I have a bunch of Fed Ex envelopes full of Bocelli tickets to send out today. We’re supposed to go the show on December 1st in Las Vegas but think we’ll skip it as we’ll be traveling over Thanksgiving. Lori is also going to her Moms a week from Friday.

Tonight is the $1.6 Billion Dollar Mega Millions drawing. The math says don’t buy a ticket but we’ll drop $5 on it as the boys are telling me to. Someone has to win right, not. Well I guess sooner or later someone actually does. You could buy every number combination for about $600,000 but it’d take about 200,000 people over 24 hours to fill out every ticket and then if someone or two other people get the same number, you’d lose money. So see, the math is against you. Still $5 is the price of a Starbucks latte these days.

I just drove Lori to work so she doesn’t have to walk from the parking garage in the dark. It’s now about 6 so time to wake the boys. That’s about it, time to get moving, can’t wait for all the lies on tv also known as political ads, are over, have a great day and God Bless.

So tired

I was up most of the night worrying about Mojo. He was fine last night but didn’t eat much yesterday. For dinner, Lori, Jag and I went to Terre Bistro. Ty wanted to stay home and had us bring him some mac and cheese. This week I have two girls from Germany coming for a market survey. I need to run them around Thursday for the day. Today they’re in Miami or California, I forget.

The boys are going to school at 7:30 this morning and Lori’s doc is back from Africa. We’re also meeting with the architect at 1:30. It’s a little cooler today but not too bad. Halloween is a week from Wednesday, get ready. Time to go, have a good week and God Bless.
