Well, Lori’s head was really bad last night and Dixie was packing a few things to move somewhere, but she wasn’t sure where she was going. We postponed Lori’s trip to Sac and today we’re getting her a massage. She thinks she has a sinus infection but I’m not so sure. In any case we’ll try anything.
Last night around 6:30 Lori and I met up at Dixie’s and talked her back to reality. She wants to be here and wants to try to not be confused but it’s tough and she’s frustrated when she knows she’s confused. When you’re 90 I guess these things just happen.
Ty has school from 8:40 until around 12:30 today. Then he’s going to lunch with Sonny and will be home by 3. I need to run to Steamboat and then am going to James’s at 5. He and I met up at the gun shop yesterday as two revolvers we ordered almost 2 years ago came in. We’re super excited to go hunting next week. Should be fun.
Better get moving so I can get Ty up for school. It’s cooler outside today, nice. You can tell Fall is right around the corner. God Bless.
Yesterday Charlie Watts, drummer for the greatest band in the World, The Rolling Stones, passed away. He hadn’t missed a gig since 1968. He was 80 and had been treated for throat cancer in 2004. A couple months ago, maybe less, it flared up again and bam, now he’s gone. Life is fragile. Lori had an unvaccinated 31 year old girl from her office pass away two nights ago in the ER from covid. They just couldn’t save her. Sad.
Yesterday morning some kids, think they were around 15 or 16, broke into the local gun shop and stole 5 handguns! Thankfully our local PD had caught them by last night. Hope they throw the book at them. Not cool.
This week is going fast. We’re running out of time. Today I’m at the range and tomorrow Lori is off to Sacramento. Yesterday I was down and up by 1:30. The boys are fine and so is Dixie. She went to flower arranging and church and bingo so far this week which is good as she’s meeting some people. I’m off to the gym and Lori is headed to Frisco today. Ty has school at 10:10 today until 3:40 this afternoon.
Nice and cool up here. Biden is still apologizing for us being Americans and still retreating in shame from Afghanistan. Since when do we negotiate with terrorists? That’s what the Taliban is and he’s giving them legitimacy. What a sad day for our Country. He is flat out not fit to lead, which he isn’t. He’s a puppet just reading the teleprompter which the likes of socialists like Bernie Sanders are directing. I’m sure Obama has something to do with all this too. God hlep us.
After a 2 to 3 hour appointment yesterday Dixie’s heart is surprisingly doing ok. With all she’s been through in the past 10 years things could have been much worse. Sadly her memory is the thing to worry about. She has good days or moments and then some not so good. Guess it’s all part of being 90.
5am and I’m off in an hour for Denver. Last trip for a while. Guess Jag had a good first day of school. Ty and I went to the doctor after his school while Lori took Dixie and had his follow up on his knee. He has about two to three more weeks but can start walking a little while at home without his brace.
Lori is tired and has had a headache for weeks. She’s slammed so not sure how we’ll even get it looked at. Poor girl. Time to go. Hope to be out of town by noon as Ty is out of school at 1:40 and I need to get him with Lori working. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.
Big week. Lots going on. 5:30 am and I need to leave at 7 for my new distributor in Denver. Hope to be back by 1. Dixie has her cardiologist appointment at 3 and Ty is out of school at 1:40. Tomorrow I’m back in Denver for a windshield replacement and an oil change. Wednesday I’m local and then Thursday morning Lori is off to Sacramento to get some work done until Saturday and then Sunday I leave. Luckily she flies out of Eagle. It’s so much easier. Jag starts classes today too.
The news just said there’s an organized group stealing U Haul trucks. Not empty ones but ones people have rented that are loaded! Nice. Hard to put in to words what’s going on in the World these days. Kind of glad my Mom isn’t living through this crap although we still miss her everyday.
Did some more shooting with my bow yesterday and will do more today, tomorrow and everyday until I leave. Need to get dialed in. Brian my neighbor has been huge in helping me out. Time to move as it’s getting close to 6. Make it a great week, Good Bless.
You’ve heard of a Ty or Jagger Day, well yesterday was a Dixie Day. It started with us stopping to see her in the morning on the way to the gym. Then after a short workout, we showered and headed back to get her. We then headed off for Frisco. She likes to go for drives and enjoys seeing all the scenery. After heading to Lake Dillon and driving over the dam we stopped for groceries. She went in with us to Whole Foods and after that we all got Starbucks. Then she wanted popcorn so I stopped at City Market before heading home to our house. Next up was Lori making more popcorn and then chili for dinner while Dix watched some football and played with the dogs. After dinner we took her home and then hung out with her a bit while she got settled. All in all we were with her from about 8 am until 7 pm. She was very appreciative. She seems to have more issues when she’s all alone.
Today we’ll stop by but have some things we have to get done. Lori did give both dogs baths last night so that’s off the list. Tomorrow and Tuesday I’m in Denver. A week from today I’m off to Utah hunting. Ty spent the night at Sonny’s and we tried to catch up on some sleep.
You can bet Biden was thankful for the weekend. Every pollster and journalist, even liberal ones, gave him an F for last week. Now American are being killed and not allowed to leave. Wonder how he’s going to get out of this mess. Don’t think he can, he just might be done. Pray for those stuck there, God Bless.
Lori spent a lot of the day with Dixie down at the doctor. She needed her meds changed up a bit as she’s basically been in heart failure for about ten years. At one point a PA wanted to send her to the hospital but then Dr. Peck came in and said it wouldn’t make any difference. Lori is super worried and spent most all of the day with her, whether at her place, the doctor or up here where she bought her later in the day. Hopefully she’ll once again rally. This is probably the 10th scare like this or so in the last couple years alone. Still doesn’t make it any easier. On top of it all, now her memory is mostly gone and she is more confused than not. Prayers for her and Lori.
Meanwhile I went to Steamboat at 7am and was back around noon. Later in the day I picked up James and we went to Marty’s for dinner as Melanie was in Ft. Collins. He tried to smoke some rib eyes in the smoker and finish them on the grill and for some reason they turned out sour? Lucky he didn’t do the $325 prime rib. I asked Lori if she wanted me to come home or not go but she said to go.
Jag is having some big frat party today and they found a food truck to hire. He texted me yesterday trying to find one. Should be fun.
Joe Biden sadly is about done. He contradicted everyone from his top Generals, to the U.K. Parliament to news clips right in front of his eyes yesterday. The guys is saying what he wants to believe rather than what is actually happening and what the truth is. His people have to be reeling. It’s easy to see he’s lost it if you’ve had a loved one that went through this like dad and now Dixie.
In a few minutes we’re headed down to Dixie’s as Lori wants to take her blood pressure and O2 as she doesn’t trust the nurses. Then we’ll go to the gym. So I need to get moving. Make it a great weekend. God Bless.
Off in an hour for Steamboat to dial in my bow. Brian my neighbor knows the guy well and is helping me out. Ty has school and Lori is headed to the gym. I should be back around noon. Tonight Marty is going to cook a 10 pound, $325 prime rib ( he had no idea it would cost that much when he bought it, ha) on his new smoker and James and I are going over to help him eat it! Lori and Ty are invited but Lor is not sure she wants to come hang out with us three guys, ha. She said she’ll probably go hang with her mom. We hung out last night for a couple hours getting ready for our hunting trip while Lori was on a Zoom call.
No politics today as it makes me sick to my stomach. Everyone knows what’s going on anyhow. If you don’t you’re living under a rock. If you don’t, now the Taliban is going house to house hanging people that worked for us, nice. Way to go Joe.
Coyotes were howling around 4 am. There’s a good pack around here and we hear them often. Monday I’m in Denver as my main man Greg from Florida who I put in charge of Colorado too is coming here to work the market for a week. I’m taking him down his samples.
Time to move. Be safe, and for God’s sake, go buy some food. There is no end to the rising food prices in sight, trust me, God Bless.
Try living without internet service for 48 hours. You wouldn’t think it would be a big deal but it basically shut down all work and some fun surfing too. I couldn’t even open apps on my phone as there was no wifi. Shows how connected we are these days, or should I say dependent.
Personally I hate it. I long for the days of no cell phones or computers attached to our bodies like some new appendage. And it’s called progress. Been on social media lately? For every feel good story or family that shares a picture, there’s division and negativity. Not sure the good is worth the bad. Wish the boys grew up when we did.
Yesterday I was in Denver by 9 and back by 12:30. The canyon is closed again due to mudslides. Last night I went down to my neighbors and shot some arrows and tomorrow we’re headed to Steamboat to fine tune my bow before heading to Utah. With the canyon closed we’ll have some extra traffic both ways, ugh. Tonight it’s cigar night at James’s. He was going to California to the studio but one of the guys there had a family emergency so the trip was cancelled.
Jag is doing well, so is Ty. After today both boys will be vaccinated. Hope it’s the right decision as we’re still all human guinea pigs when it comes to this. You’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. For every doctor that says get it you can find one that says wait. I was watching a doctor from Yale yesterday questioning all the numbers and saying many deaths could have been prevented if we used lots of different drugs and treatments available. He was disappointed in the govt. and said the problem is we’re all following so called experts like Faucci instead of the actual science. Apparently we Americans are 81 times more likely to believe these “experts” rather than question them as we’re bombarded by a media complex that makes us all believe what they want us to believe. It’s the old adage that if you repeat things long enough, even if not true, people will believe it.
Then we have Biden trying desperately to change the subject from Afghanistan to Covid by announcing we all need booster shots. The guy reads everything off a teleprompter and even bungles that! Have you watched him lately? The big story should be Biden and his team said they can’t guarantee they’ll get all American’s out of Afghanistan, what? We’re the United States of America! Why aren’t we telling the Taliban that they’ll let ALL American’s and others who helped us out without harm or we’ll send them back to the stone age! WTF? What ever happened to “no man left behind”? Grow some balls! What a joke this guy is. It’s really hard to believe in 2021 we have people leading us that are so inept and frankly wrong about almost everything. God help us.
Time to go, need to get Ty to school then hit the gym before my 10 am call. Had some nice rain last night. Nothing heavy here, just some good moisture. Be well, stay safe and think for yourself as you’re on your own. Don’t believe me? Look at any natural disaster, any city filled with crime? Anything? When has the govt. actually fixed your problem? See what I mean? Enough said, God Bless.
Blog delayed today as no internet! Check back this afternoon!
1:11 pm, still no internet so I’m connected through the Hotspot on my phone. I made it down to Denver and back by 12:30. Ty is at school, Jag is working away getting ready for classes (he just found out last night he got into Mandarin!) and Lori is working in Vail. I’ll go see Dixie again today as no one else is around.
It just flashed I’m offline so we’ll see if this posts. Biden needs to fire all his military and national security, or should I say, national non-security people. Unless of course, as word is coming out, they told him not to leave like he did but he did anyhow, wow! The Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff just said, and I quote, “none of us saw this coming or thought the Country would be falling in 11 days!” DOUBLE WOW! Just yesterday they kept saying they planned for every contingency. Guess they missed this one, ha. Good God, what a mess.
God pray for the Americans and those that helped us, God Bless.
High School starts today. Ty needs to get moving. He needs to leave in about an hour. Guess that means either Lori or I need to leave in an hour. Last night Lori went to dinner with six doctors. They are the Partners of VSO and they met with a doctor from Aspen who is retiring and can be a good referral source for the practice. Lori dropped Ty on her way to have dinner with friends and I hung out at home.
Today I’m in Frisco and need to keep cleaning out the vault. Lori is in Edwards and Ty is out around 3. We’re trying to catch up on our sleep and made some progress last night but could sleep for a whole day still. Dixie had her cardio appointment cancelled due to an emergency and is now rescheduled for next week. This threw her off a bit as she was all geared up to go. Lori ordered up an oxygen concentrator that will be delivered today so we can send the rental unit back. Lots to do with her every day. Sometimes she remembers she saw us, other times she doesn’t. Most of the time she says she likes her place but when she doesn’t wear her oxygen she gets confused. She can’t remember her house but does remember the one from 40 years ago. She is getting more adjusted every day though.
Time to get going, Ty still isn’t up. Jag is doing well and hung out with some guys from his frat yesterday. His classes start next Monday.
Last, Biden came back from vacation to give a speech blaming everyone but himself for the mess in Afghanistan and then closed with Harry Truman’s famous line, the buck stops here! What an embarrassment and what a joke. He then got back on his helicopter and went back to his vacation, unbelievable. Republicans and some Democrats are calling for his resignation. I doubt they’ll have any 2 year investigations as to how this happened unlike when they chased Trump with the fake Russia collusion narrative. The difference is this situation is 100% our fault and based on fact. The Russia thing was 100% made up and pushed by the Democrats. Shouldn’t be surprised though as there are two sets of rules, one for dems and one for republicans, right?
Things will come around, they always do. Just hope they do before Biden and his joke of an administration do much more damage. By the way, his National Security Advisor in charge of the withdrawal is 44 years old and has zero experience before this job and is clearly in over his head. In fact, only one person in the administration’s division that handles this has any experience. That’s what happens when you pay back people who worked on your campaign with jobs even though they are not qualified. Generals that are from democrat administrations came out and blasted this mess. Many Obama advisors including his former Secretary of Defense said Biden has been on the wrong side of every foreign policy single decision his entire life. Yet he has the gall to go on tv and lecture us and blame everyone from the Afghans to of course, wait for it, Trump. God he’s an idiot. Just two weeks ago he said the Afghan Army was well trained and would hold their own and the Taliban could never take over the Country much less Kabul. Let’s see, it took 72 hours for Kabul to fall, enough said.
