This morning in about an hour, I’m off to Grand Junction to the farm. I need to nail down some details before harvest begins in about a month. Ty has about 10 days of school left and a fair amount of work to do. Lori is in Vail today and I think Jag is going with me.
We went to see Dixie yesterday a few times. Poor girl thinks she needs to get back to Sacramento early today as she needs to be at her job which is teaching school. Ty stopped and visited her before Lori and I and she didn’t know who he was. She was shocked and happy when she learned from Lori that he was her son. It’s like she’s there but nobody is home, so sad. Without Lori having decided over a year ago to take care of her and bring her out here, I can only imagine where she’d be right now. She probably wouldn’t be with us. I could go on but I think you understand. She’s basically lost in her mind but I can still make her laugh which is good.
Tom texted last night to go outside and see the lunar eclipse. It was amazing up here where it’s much darker than in the city. Quite the site.
I hope to be back by lunch time. Plenty of work to do around here too. Time to get moving. Some good rain with maybe a little snow mix is coming this weekend. We’ll take all the moisture we can get. Have a great week, be safe, stay alert and think for yourself, God Bless.
In the afternoon, the kids started getting ready. Finally around 5:30pm, all the parents met in Vail at Ford Gardens for pictures. We were all standing around waiting for the kids to show up. Finally around 6:15 they started rolling in. All the kids were dressed up and looking sharp. It’s a different time as the girls all dress as risky as they can. Guess that’s the new thing as when Jag had prom it was all about short dresses. This year it was long dresses with slits up the side.
The kids are all so grown up. We still think of them as teenagers though, especially Ty with him being the youngest. After pictures they went to dinner and then prom and then some party. Ty was going to stay the night at a buddy’s but woke us up at 3 as apparently the party, in his words, was busted by the cops. He woke Jag up to let him in and obviously his brother was not too happy. We woke up when we heard him come in. Anyhow all’s well, ends well. They had fun and made it home safely.
Yesterday morning I lasted a little over 30 minutes with the garage sale. We are way up the hill and had no traffic and I decided quickly to put an end to it and head to the gym instead. Lori worked on repairing the grass where the deer and Harley had peed all winter. Jag slept in and then went to the gym.
Today I think Lori and I are off to the gym and then will be cleaning up around here. Tomorrow James gets home for about a week before a festival in California and then a week or so later they’re off on the European Tour. I need to get down to the farm in Grand Junction. I’ll go tomorrow or Tuesday.
That’s it. enjoy the Sunday and God Bless.
A few more pics of Ty in his (my) shades looking all Hollywood and one of the three girls. Issy in the middle. Enjoy.
In 2 hours it starts, the community garage sale. Not sure how much traffic we’ll have as it’s our first go round. We need to get moving so this will be a short post. I might make a run to the storage unit to get some more stuff.
After the sale, we’ll change our focus to Prom. Ty is taking Issy who is a nice girl. There’s some after party somewhere that’s being put on by some parents.
Aspen was nice. No traffic and no people as it’s the off season. It’s our favorite time of year as all the tourists are gone.
Oh, food riots in Sri Lanks, protestors beat up police and burn down politicians’ houses, hmm. When people’s basic rights are taken away, they will react. Get ready.
That’s it, time to get moving, make it a good day and God Bless.
Lori is off to Denver and I’m off to Aspen. We should both be back mid-afternoon. Jag is working out at 10 and Ty I think is going to school even though it is Senior Ditch Day. Ty had about 8 friends over last night and then they all went back to school for the senior prank around midnight. I think they put glitter in all the sinks or something.
Today is Friday the 13th. Any month that starts with a Sunday will have a Friday the 13th! A warming trend is here, 70’s and 80’s for the foreseeable future. Need to get ready for the garage sale tomorrow.
Let’s see, what stupid crap has the government done now. Well, they cancelled a large oil and gas lease in Alaska, so gas prices will go higher, they are supporting protests at Supreme Court Justices homes, nice, they want some whack job lady to run a Ministry of Disinformation and she wants the ability to edit people’s tweets, and we have a baby formula shortage and it turns out the Biden Administration sent pallets of formula to the border for illegals that they were letting in. It’s like we’re living in the Twilight Zone or Bizzaro World where everything is upside down or the opposite. Crazy how these people are even in office. They need to go In November, no question about it.
Have a great weekend, stay vigilant and stay positive, God Bless.
Yesterday Jag and three girls went up to Sylvan Lake camping. They rented the small $90 cabin and headed out with sleeping bags, cookware, food and drink. I helped them get ready and sent them with stuff for s’mores! They must have made it through the night and will be back sometime this morning.
I was in Conifer and back around 1. Today I’m home and then tomorrow am supposed to get a haircut in Denver and Lori has a doctor appointment. This morning we’re headed to the gym.
Saturday we have our neighborhood garage sale up here. It’s a once a year thing that attracts a good crowd as they do a lot of advertising. Hard to believe it’s the middle of May. Summer will be here soon.
Biden was all over tv yesterday saying his policies are working and it’s the Maga Republicans and Putin that are responsible for inflation. Guess he forgets that inflation started the day he took office and stopped the Keystone Pipeline and the war in Ukraine started at the end of February this year. Shouldn’t be surprised though as he can’t remember most people’s names or that he is President as he often refers to Kamala as President Harris. God help us.
Thank God the winds have died down. It’s been a little breezy but nothing like the other night. Warming up too. I think 80 degrees today.
Jag had three friends come up yesterday. All girls. We know one of them as we first met her a year or so ago. All of them plus Lori went to the movies last night to see Dr. Strange. I’m not big into the Marvel movies so I stayed home. Ty went to the lacrosse game as it was a playoff game and we won.
I’m running down to Idaho Springs today to drop some samples. Hope to be back again around 1. I bought a bunch of food yesterday as we were expecting more kids to come up. I stopped at two Whole Foods and was amazed at how out of stock they were on some things. Things they did have were way up in price. I can only imagine what the Fall will bring. We have to get the Dems out of office.
Auntie Dee passed away yesterday. So sad the way the whole thing went down. Still confused and upset. At least she’s with Mom now. RIP.
Quick trip this morning, hope to be back by 1 at the latest. Jag’s working out at 9, Ty has a call with James in Brazil at 8 and I think Lori is working from home. We had a little wind yesterday but it was calm last night. Jag has some friends coming up tonight and I think they rented a cabin at Sylvan lake for tomorrow night. It’s 10 minutes up the road and a nice little park and lake.
The Av’s won last night and now should have about a week off. It was a great hockey game. Ty washed and cleaned his car really well last night. Only a few weeks left of school for Ty. I think two weeks from today is his last day. Graduation is the 27th.
Time to get moving, make it a great day, stay safe and be well, GB.
The past couple days have been windy but nothing like it was last night. Even our heavy Adirondack chairs were blown around the yard. Windows shook and it was enough to wake you up over and over during the night. Had to be above 75 miles an hour. It’s going to be “breezy” today, according to the news, whatever that means. Then windy on Wednesday and Thursday, hmm.
Now to Mother’s Day. It was a nice, fun day. We dropped the girls for massages at 10 and then Marty and I hung out until we picked them up around 11;45. Then it was off to lunch where we met up with the boys. Our good friends, the Bradbury’s were there as well as Jag’s high school math teacher and her family. Lunch was really good. Restaurants are hit and miss these days. We then headed home and Marty and Melanie wanted to go to Costco so they headed there and then came over until about 6. For dinner the boys drove to Vail to get sushi to go from Matsu. Lori went to see her Mom but she refused to come up. She just didn’t want to go out, which is fine. All in all, Lori had a great day.
It’s a little windy but nothing like last night. I’m off to the gym for a 7am workout. I think Jag is going with me. Lori is getting another massage at noon as it really helped her head. Ty has school and I have a 9am call.
Time to get moving. Hope everyone had a great day, Make it a great week, God Bless.
Today is the day to honor all moms. Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom, Lori, Annette, Robin and Dixie and all others who put their children ahead of themselves. Mother’s Day always seems to be a bigger deal than Father’s Day but we’ll get to that next month, ha. So today, thank your Mom whether she’s still with us or not. It’s not an easy job.
Yesterday Ty drove to Denver to get his suit and then was out last night until about 11:30. Jag showed up around 2 am as he decided to drive up after hanging out with friends. Lori, being a mom, got out of bed and helped him make his bed as she washed his sheets. We were not expecting him until this morning. I made a Costco run and then made it home to watch the hockey game. While I was gone, Lori laid outside to get some much-needed sun. Only problem was she got a little too much and is now read from her neck to her toes on her front side. She does cover her head with a towel so she has a nice little line on her neck. This morning she has a massage with Melanie so hopefully her sunburn won’t be too bad. After the girls massage, we’re all having lunch at the 4 Seasons. Then we’ll grab Dixie and bring her up for the afternoon and dinner if she feels like hanging out that long.
The wind was strong yesterday with gusts blowing 60 to 70 miles an hour. I asked Tom who said they didn’t have much wind at all, but Marty and Melanie, who flew in from Boston said the airport was one big brown cloud from all the wind and dust. May is usually windy up here every year. Then it calms down.
Friday night Pfizer did a huge document dump which companies and the government does when they don’t want any press or publicity. They think if they dump information on a Friday night, there’s the weekend before it gets noticed. Well not this time. A high level VP from Pfizer was arrested for fraud as it turns out they falsified their test results and knew the vaccine was not safe, yet went ahead with giving it to tens of millions of people. Hmm, anyone surprised? Something the government said is good for you turns out to be not true? How many lives have been needlessly lost? Now the Moderna vaccine has issues too and the news yesterday said, do not get the J&J, great. Hope they all go to jail but most will deflect blame and say something like, “we followed the science”. Where have we heard that before? Hope Fauci is held accountable too. A judge immediately granted Pfizer’s lawyers a media blackout so you have to search for it to find it right now but it’s out there. I’ll stop now but hopefully we all now know for sure, don’t believe everything you read or hear. Oh, and the White House is still pushing the vaccine, wtf?
Time to go, enjoy the day and call your mom if you can. If she’s gone, tell her how much you love and miss her as she’ll know, believe me! God Bless.
Lori just said Harley needs a bath and her nails cut, uh oh. That’s no easy job. Ty is off to Denver today to pick up his suit. Dixie wants to go dress shopping to get her mom a dress and thinks she’s living in Laverne Oklahoma. We finally had her up yesterday but she’s definitely fading. Her legs are weaker and she’s looking really pale these days. She tried to remember our last name yesterday and when I told her, she slapped her hands together and said, “that’s right, I like that name”. We’re planning on getting her up again tomorrow for Mother’s Day, after Lori’s massage and our lunch.
We’re headed to the gym, (what’s new right), and then Home Depot for some stuff Lori wants for the yard. Hockey is on at 2:30 so Tom will be watching for sure. He knows more about the game and the rules than I do, so often I text him with a question.
Politics is a mess with the Dems doing anything they can to change the subject. Everything is more expensive, and things are disappearing. Shouldn’t say I told you so, but…. I told you so. It’s only going to get worse, much worse, before it gets better. This is going to be a tough summer and even tougher fall. Don’t fall for the vaccine push that will be coming in a few months. That’ll for sure be another “national emergency” aka, distraction, the Dems will try to push to try to get you to ignore inflation, crime, illegal immigration and more. Don’t be fooled and for God’s sake, do not get any more shots! Even now with all the bad things coming to light from the vaccines, the White House is still pushing them, unbelievable.
7am so time to go. Be well, keep positive and think for yourself. God Bless.
