Getting better

Went to the doctor yesterday and am getting better. Turns out I have a lot of wax in my ears, hmm, that I’m getting sucked out by the ENT doc hopefully today. Guess it builds up and can then cause equilibrium issues. Cancelled my MRI at Lori’s work as my muscle pull is feeling better too.

Steve, my Group 19 (Green Beret) buddy, spent the night here and I think is staying a few more days as he was sleeping in his van at the range. We have plenty of room downstairs and he’s an easy guest. Think we’re hitting the range tomorrow for some practice too.

After the doc yesterday, I stopped for a quick cigar with the guys. Good to see everyone. Lori took Ty to work this morning as they asked if he could open today at 7. She then went to the gym. I laid off one more day just to make sure I don’t tweak anything and am 100% healed up.

I’m breaking crap at work and resetting everything for 2024. Lots of stuff needs to be adjusted (that’s a nice description) as we need to adapt to the changing market and times. Change is never easy but if done right, is effective. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting the results to be different, is just stupid.

Time to get moving, Steve headed down to his gym here in Eagle. He’ll be back later. Have a great day and weekend, GB.

Cool down

It’s here! Fall! Today and tomorrow’s temperatures should have the trees start changing colors, as early as today. Last night we met Marty and Melanie for dinner. Made it home around 8:30 and headed to bed.

This morning I’m dropping my truck off to have my topper that I bought over two years ago from South Africa, put on. It took me over a year to get it and then I had to wait for my new truck. Just in time for winter.

My voice is hoarse from so much talking yesterday on the phone at work. My buddy Steve who moved to Arizona but is back up here closing down the gun store, will stay with us for the next few nights as he’s been sleeping in his van at the range and showering at the gym. They sold their house a month ago and moved to Arizona at the end of August. We told him to stay here, so he doesn’t need to sleep in his van. He’s a good guy.

Ten to seven now and we need to leave in 40 minutes so no time to waste. Ty woke up early which is good as the cleaners come today and he needs to clean so they can clean. He at least needs to put his bong away, ha.

That’s it. I think Biden is about done. I predict the Dems will take him out before Halloween. No one wants him or Trump to run. I think the news keeps saying Trumps in the lead and is uncatchable as that’s who the Dems want to run. Seems the only thing they can agree on is that they all hate Trump. Time for new people on both sides. Make it a great day, God Bless.

Marty’s Birthday

Tonight we’re going out to dinner for Marty’s birthday. Thankfully, knock on wood, I’m finally feeling better. Ty stayed an extra day in Denver and will be back today. I have calls at 8, 9:30 and 11. Lori works in Vail, and I’ll pick her up at 5:30 on the way to dinner, which means I’ll drop her at work this morning.

Yesterday, in a big win for all of us, the Democratic Attorney General of New Mexico declined to defend the Governor who suspended citizens’ rights to lawful carry. Even a uber liberal California congressman came out and said she’s violating the Constitution. Maybe there’s hope for us after all. I only mention this as it’s a really big deal, even though it might not seem like it.

Looks like some weather coming in, a little rain and cold temperatures. There’s a major flood in Libya that wiped out about 40,000 people’s homes. There have been 8 major floods Worldwide this year. A lot of it has to do with the ground being so dry. Another lesson (warning) to be prepared to take care of yourself. Sorry if I’m beating a dead horse here but if something happens, you are on your own. ok, I’ll stop now.

Fall is in the air. You can tell from the temps in the morning and the trees look like they’re on the verge of changing colors. My favorite season of the year. The sky is pink and blue right now, hovering over the tan mountains outside at 6:40 in the morning. Sometimes we take for granted just how lucky we are to live where we live. Then we look outside on mornings like this as we drink our coffee and realize how great it is. We’re truly blessed.

Time to go, make it a great day and God Bless.

Out for the season

No matter how you think the Bronco’s did the other night, we still have our quarterback. Well, last night, on the 4th play of the game, Aaron Rodgers, formerly of the Green Bay Packers, now with the Jets, tore his achilleas tendon and is out for the season, wow. Not life changing in the grand scheme of things, but in sports, especially in New York, wow. What’s almost as shocking is the Jets somehow beat the Bills. I feel a whole lot better about losing to the Raiders, ha.

Biden has to go. Yesterday on the anniversary of 9/11, he gave Iran 6 billion dollars to swap 5 prisoners for 5 prisoners. What ever happened to not paying ransom to terrorists? Smart logic will tell Iran, grab some more Americans. Let’s see, he’s now made bad deals with Russia and Iran, who’s next? Mexico? North Korea? I’ll bet North Korea. Furthermore, Iran says they’ll spend the money however they want, meaning on more weapons and crap, to kill Americans, unbelievable. And to do this on 9/11. Throw in not showing up in New York as all other Presidents have since the Twin Towers went down and his blabbering blunders all last week and it’s clear he’s done.

The only good news is a New Mexico Sherriff said he will not enforce the Dem Governor’s unconstitutional banning of legal citizens carrying firearms. At least one elected official has balls in this Country. To be clear, this was an organized trial balloon by the Dems seeing if the people will comply. Man are we far gone.

Now to the day, I’m nursing a strained disc in my neck since working out too hard when we came back from Arizona. Tomorrow is Marty’s birthday and we’re going to dinner with them at Frisco Prime, a steak house in Frisco. I was going to Denver today, but Ty is going to take the bus up saving me a trip. Marty stopped by yesterday as he was waiting for Costco to get his new diabetes medicine ready. Jag is doing well and so is Lori. Weird not writing about how Dixie is doing but she’s in our thoughts and prayers daily. It’s been two weeks today and it’ll take time to get used to her not being around. Tom mentioned the other day I didn’t post about Mom being gone six years on the 9th. I’m no longer posting anniversary’s of people’s death, and I didn’t post Dad’s or Ali’s either. I will post memories and stuff on holidays, but I think we all know and remember and miss our loved ones and can grieve or remember them in our own way. I, think about Mom every day, and I know Tom and Robin do too. For me, I’d rather celebrate their life through good memories rather than focus on the sad times, but I get it, to each their own. Moving on.

It’s been a little cooler up here which is nice. No rain like in Denver. Snow above 12,000 feet, winter is coming. Had Antonio the painter out yesterday as we might stain part or all of the house. The heat in the summer and snow and wind in the winter take a toll on the wood. A new house a block away just sold for $3 million so looks like we’re not in those areas where property values have dropped. That’s good news for our equity and value but bad news for our taxes which have doubled for next year. That’s about it, time to get moving, make it a great day and God Bless.

9/11

22 years ago today the Country was attacked. Doesn’t seem that long ago does it? Not sure things are a whole lot different as far as relations with other parts of the World go. In fact, if you really look at the World and how we interact with each other, things are even more messed up. Something is wrong with the people in charge. One day, let’s hope we can all just get along.

The big game yesterday was a big game but we came up 1 point short. Our QB looked way better but a loss is a loss. Hope we show up and play better next week. James is happy though as he’s a Raider fan, ugh.

Today I have calls at 9 and noon and Lori needs to get some things done for work and Dixie. Yesterday Ty rode down to Denver with Sami from work and I’ll get him tomorrow. I’m taking Jagger’s dresser down which has been in the garage since he moved out the middle of May. He did get his ticket for the Rocky Mountain Showdown between CU and CSU next Saturday. Fun times in Boulder.

Biden is losing it even more than he has been. His handlers rushed him off stage in Viet Nam yesterday when he said he’s going to bed. Looks like Michelle Obama is going to step in because she’s so qualified, right? Barack has been running things for the past couple years anyhow. The public isn’t falling for the “new covid” emergency, so they’ll come up with something else to try to control the people. The Governor of New Mexico suspended legal carry of firearms for all citizens which she says she has the right to do. Get this, she even had the gall to say the Constitution is not absolute! God help us. Can’t believe she would say that out loud. You know the Dems believe that but to actually say it, wow. This is all part of them seeing how much abuse we, the people, will stand for. At some point, people will push back, like they are with covid. Only 17% went out and got the third booster which has those wanting to control you freaking out. They know they’re losing their grip on power. Think about what they’ve told you the past 2 or 3 years and just how much of it turned out to be false, then you decide. Think for yourself people!

That’s it, time to get moving, have a great week and God Bless.

BIG WIN!

Great win yesterday in the big game. We started out a little slow but by the end were on a roll. Hopefully today’s game will be more of the same.

5:52am and Ty works again at 7. That means we’re out the door at 6:30. We cleaned a little bit yesterday but not much. We’ll try to get some more done today. I think Ty is going to Denver after work on the bus, not sure. Looks like he’s not going after all so maybe we can go fishing or something Tuesday.

Back to the game, Jag was up early and in the stands by 7:30. I guess there were more parties last night as he was taking a nap mid-afternoon so he could go out later last night. Oh, to be in college again!

Lori gave Harley a bath, that’s always fun, hair everywhere. Guess we’ll go to the gym after we drop Ty. Big quake in Morocco, thousands of people dead. Don’t hear much about the fire in Maui anymore, do you? Another lesson that you need to be prepared to take care of yourself.

God Bless.

Big Game

Today CU plays Nebraska. Should be a good game and we’re hoping for a big win! Same with the Bronco’s tomorrow! The parking lots in Boulder opened at 5am this morning and Jag says there’s a party that begins at 7!

Ty works at 7 so we’re up and at it early. Think it’ll be a little cooler today. Yesterday went by in a flash. Thought I was getting a bug but seem better today. James flew to Arizona yesterday afternoon around 4. He’ll make up last Sunday’s show tonight and be on a plane by midnight headed home.

Yesterday it took us two hours to get Ty to work! Should have been a 25-minute drive but they’re still cleaning things up from the accident and fire the day before. The grass, train tracks and fences were still smoldering. Lori and I thought they should have still be watering things down. They had Highway 6 closed and I-70 down to one lane as a result. We think both lanes are open today, hope so!

The news just said today is the last hot day of the year with temps getting to about 87 in Denver. Not sure how they know, ha. Guess a big change is coming tomorrow. We’re not going to the game tomorrow but are going next week. Chris, our lawyer, is taking his 4-year-old and wife. It was just too much to go back down again tomorrow with all going on. We need to just get some rest.

Nancy Pelosi just announced she’s running for reelection. Are you kidding me? If anyone is the poster child for term limits, other than Biden, it’s her. Throw in McConnell, Schumer, Nadler and all the others that should be in a retirement home and it’s easy to see why we’re so fucked up as a Country, God help us.

I’m going to go now as I don’t want to ruin the vibe of the game and the weekend by getting sucked into what a mess things are. Have a great day and S’ko Buffs! (That’s our saying at CU for those of you that don’t know)

God Bless.

Long drive

Lori and I were out of here by 7 and in Denver a little after 9am. Everything was going to plan as we made it to the bank, then to Neiman’s to return some shoes and then to her doctor appointment by 11am. After a ten minute appointment, we were off to pick up her new car. After a 20 minute tutorial, we headed out to get Ty.

We picked him up at 1 and left for home. Arriving in Frisco we stopped for groceries. Lori picked up stuff to make cupcakes with Meredith as well as some craft things that any kid would love. Passing Copper Mountain, she got a text saying the highway was closed. Not sure what was going on, I pulled off at the top of Vail Pass until we knew more. Turns out, a dump truck and an SUV were in a crash and took out a power line that started a fire and both directions of I-70 and Hwy 6 were closed. The best we could find out was it’d be 4 to 8 hours minimum.

Luckily Dea, Meredith’s mom, had a backup plan with someone in Eagle to pick her up, smart. Sitting on top of the Pass, I told Lori, let’s go over Independence Pass into Aspen and come home the back way through Glenwood. Now this was another 3 1/2 hour drive but it was better than sitting. So off we went. Her new Porsche did its thing and we cruised as fast as we could on our new route. I wasn’t sure how far I-70 would be backed up going east as like I said, it was closed in both directions. I had a plan to get off at Dotsero and take the frontage road to Gypsum. After getting closer and having Lori watching Waze and trying to see what was going on by looking at the Cdot cameras on her phone, we decided we’d try for Gypsum on the highway. Luckily we made it. After getting off the highway, we could see the line of semi’s stopped on I-70. Guess it was closed until 10pm but we made it home by 6:30. So, good decision, but it was a total of a 4 1/2 hour drive. Around Copper, Ty, in the back seat, said “ok, I’m going to sleep now”, ha.

Lots going on with both Lori and I. Need to get a lot of things handled. Ty works at 8 this morning and we’ll go to the gym before heading home to get after it. I need to figure out how to stream the CU Nebraska game tomorrow as it’s on FOX which has been blacked out for months due to a contract dispute between Dish Network and whoever owns the rights to FOX. I’ll figure it out but what a bummer. The Lions did beat the Chiefs last night though which was great!

6:24am now so time to get moving. Have a good day, September 8th, wow. There’s a cool down coming in the next few days, God Bless.

Denver

This morning Lori and I are off to Denver for a few errands. She has a doctor appointment and I’m meeting Toby at the warehouse to load up a bunch of wine into his truck. On the way up the hill, we’ll grab Ty. At 5, Lori is picking up Meredith, our 4-year-old neighbor, as her mom is coaching volleyball in Frisco and will be home late. Lori is super excited and so is Meredith!

Lori had a long day yesterday arriving home at 7:30, and I was super tired. I’ve been trying to fill up my sleep bank which has been depleted ever since the 29th when we woke up at 2:30am. Not sure if we’re going to the Bronco’s game Sunday or if Jag is going with some friends. We are going to the Redskins game week two.

Some cooler weather is headed in. Think I’ll make a French roast chicken over the weekend. It’s going to be October before we know it. That’s about it, need to be on the road by 7. Have a great day, stay safe and God Bless.

Ear infection

Think I’m getting an ear infection, ugh. Will check to see if I have the right anti-biotics here or if I need to go get some. Ty pierced both ears yesterday and wants some tattoo’s today but we’re hoping he comes to his senses. Lori works in Frisco today and tomorrow we’re headed to Denver. I have a call at 11 but other than that, will be handling things as they pop up. There’s enough every day to keep me busy.

Felt like there was a hint of Fall in the air yesterday and it’s the same this morning. Won’t be long now. Was thinking of going to the gym this morning but might skip it. Haven’t decided yet. It’s only 5:50am.

I picked up Dixie yesterday and wrapped that up. Jag is doing well and didn’t miss a beat by being gone for a day and a half. Didn’t think he would. Big game this weekend in Boulder, can’t wait.

Time to get moving, make it a great day and God Bless.
