2 days until May

Hard to believe it’s almost May. That means flowers, Lori’s birthday, Mothers Day and the last day of school on the 25th. Also the kids are off Friday and Monday. Add in baseball games Thursday, Friday, Saturday plus 2 rain outs we need to make up, and we’re going to be busy. We also need to get this house cleaned up, rent a storage unit and finish painting around here. So we have no time to rest. We had some baseball pitching practice after school yesterday and then homework until after 9pm. Lots to do, time to run, God Bless.

Rained out

We prepped all day for our game at 5:30 and just as we were pulling up to the field, they cancelled the game! I and the other parents were not too happy that they waited so long as it was an away game and we had to drive 30 minutes to get to the field. They should have, could have, called the game earlier in the day as it was rainy and wet all day long. So no game last night.

I need to leave for an appointment at 6;45 this morning so no time to waste. Both kids are back in school today. We still have lots to do around here, we just can’t seem to get it all done. Of course part of the reason is we need to wait until we have a bit more cash to fix the last few things. That’s about it, time to get moving, hope all’s well and God Bless.

Baseball again

Tonight we have a game at 5:30 so no time to waste today. Ty is off today as it’s a flex day, whatever that means. We had a good practice yesterday with about 6 or 7 boys showing up.   Right at the end Jagger took a ball right in his right eye. Apparently his coach threw it when he wasn’t looking or something. Anyhow it’s swollen and maybe black and blue although I haven’t seen him yet this morning. I did make him ice it good for a long time.

The rest of the day was spent doing homework (if you’re Jag), playing, if you were Ty and laundry if you were me!

That’s about it, time to run as it’s 6;30 already. Hope all’s well, God Bless.

Off day, sort of

Today we have a break from baseball meaning no game but Jag and I and a bunch of boys are headed to the cages for some practice on our off day at 11am. It almost feels like all we do is baseball! Yesterday Jag was thrown in to pitch again which normally we wouldn’t do but he did well again. Due to some errors we lost but we have another game tomorrow.

Meanwhile Ty is still trying to kick his cold and Lori her headache. She’s had one now for almost a week from painting and we need to get it calmed down. I think she’ll go to get her nails done while us boys go to baseball. Then she needs to just chill on the couch. We opted out of a birthday dinner last night to stay home and relax.

Ty and Jag have been going Geo Caching. This is where they look for a hidden spot somewhere on their gps (global positioning satellite on a mobile phone) and then go find it by following the map. It can be around the corner or miles away. Once you find the hidden cache or treasure, you take something but you also leave something. It’s sort of a modern day treasure hunt and there are caches all over town and all over the Country. It’s a lot of fun for them. They jump on their bikes and off they go. All the things they bring back are pretty much meaningless but it’s the search itself that’s the fun thing.

Guess I’ll run so I can get to the gym before everyone wakes up. Hope everyone is well, take care and God Bless.

MVP

MVP, Most valuable player, that’s what Jagger was, at least last night. He was clearly the best player on the field, on either team. I was going to start him at pitcher but put another kid in that threw a little harder and he did fine with the first few batters but then walked three. Finally I had to pull him and in Jag went. Jag worked the next 2 1/2 innings or almost half the game, striking out 4 batters. At one point he was so happy he threw his arms up in the air after a strikeout. On the hitting side, he hit 3 out of 3 times with one being a double down the third base line right when we needed it. It was a great game all around by the boys and in 2 hours and 45 minutes, we start another one!

Before that, it was work, work, work. Ty was off at 11am and has a stuffy nose, hopefully allergies and not a cold. By the time I picked up Jagger at 2:25, we had little time before we had to leave. Lori came home by a bit after 4 as she and Ty stayed home.

After baseball I need to take Jagger to get his bass clarinet fixed as it won’t play the real low notes for some reason. That’s about it unless you want me to go into all the crap in politics. Briefly, that liar and cheat Hillary is at it again. The arrogance that woman has is beyond me. Not only was she taking money from foreign governments while IN the government, she then changed her position to pass things for those who donated. It’s as if she thinks it’s her birthright to be President. The stuff coming out would send most people to jail and it might just do the same to her! It just makes me sick.

God Bless

Carpet looks good

Amazing how much carpet can change a room, it looks pretty good. Lori and Ty made it home from work around 5 or so. It was “take your kid to work day” at school so he went with Mom. Today he’s off at 11am and Jag at 2:20. First up I need to get the the gym (in a few minutes) and then to the distributor and then have a call at 10am. Our baseball game is at 5:00pm meaning we’re supposed to be there at 4! Then tomorrow morning we have a game at 9am.

Last night Jag went back to school from 5:45 until 8pm to be a greeter for the incoming class of 7th graders next year. It’s part of being in Student Council.

We also need to rent a storage unit this weekend to get the junk we want to keep, out of the house. Hopefully we’ll get both baseball games in around the rain that’s supposed to be here tonight and tomorrow. It’s 5:24am now and I have to get to the gym now or it’ll never happen today so time to go! Have a great weekend and God Bless.

(you know saying that in certain countries will get you killed!)

Allergies and carpet

Man I have a headache almost every night due to allergies. I must have picked these up from Lori as I never was allergic to anything before I met her. Anyhow time to whip out the Claritin. Today we’re having the long anticipated carpet installed in the basement. It’s been a long time coming and hopefully by 2pm it’ll be finished. Yesterday they did some prep work to get ready. It’ll be nice when it’s all done.

The kids were off early yesterday and then we had baseball practice from 4 until 6pm. Tomorrow Ty is off around 11am and then Jag at 2:20. Then next week they have Friday off and on it goes. Without all these days off they would probably be out of school by now!

Next Thursday the topper is getting installed on our pickup. I ordered this about 6 weeks ago and it’s finally in. Not the best timing as yes that’ll cost money too. The carpet thing kind of set me back a bit.

Tomorrow is our first of 6 baseball games at 5:30. Jagger has a new bat we ordered on the 15th as his is too short and we hope it arrives. You won’t believe this but baseball bats run $300 to $400! I managed to get his for $249 on line but come on, $250 for a baseball bat?

Guess I’ll run so I’ll stop thinking of all the bills and expenses I have. It’s just part of everyday life. I always say, every morning you get out of bed it costs $500, and that’s in addition to the fixed expenses like your home, cars, power, water, insurance of all kinds (I hate insurance, homeowners, car, medical, etc.) and stuff. Thank God we have pretty good jobs. I don’t know how some family’s make it. Take care and God Bless.

Half day for the kids

They’re out early again, Ty at 12:15 and Jag at 12:25. Not sure why, I quit asking a long time ago. Then on Friday Jag’s out a little early and on May 1st, they have no school. It’d sure be nice to be a kid again.

Lori’s working away at work and so am I. I have another quarterly review at 9am and should be done by hopefully 11:30. Tomorrow I have my last two also in the morning.

Baseball practice is back at 4pm and then we have games Friday night, Saturday morning, Monday night, Thursday night and Friday night and next Saturday too. That means we have Sunday and Wednesday off and that’s it. 6 games in 8 days, wow.

Today is Earth Day just so you know. Time to run as we need to clean more in the basement for the carpet guy. Have a great day, God Bless.

Off to Vail

This morning at 6am I’m leaving for Vail. I need to do a few things up there as we haven’t been up in a while. I’ll be going to the DMV to get license plates for Lori’s car, returning the boys snowboard boots that we rented for the season and stop and see a key account. I should be back in Denver by 11am.

Last night we had baseball practice while Ty was at the Science Fair with Vinny. Mom (Lori) showed up to cheer him on and then they stayed until 8pm as there was a cake auction to support the school or something. All I know is Ty came home with a red velvet cake.

Tomorrow the boys are out early and then again on Friday. Something to do with more needless testing. We also have the carpet guys coming in to prep tomorrow and then will install the carpet Thursday. The kitchen looks good, Lori did a great job.

It’s 5:03 now so guess I’ll get moving so I can get on the road. The tunnel (Eisenhower) is closed until 6:30 so I don’t want to leave too early. Hope all’s well, God Bless.

Overslept

Last night Lori gave me some Benadryl so we all overslept this morning. It’s now 6:35 which as I’m sure you know, means we’re running late. We did get the basement and kitchen all painted though and now the clean up begins. There’s more painting to do but the two big jobs are out of the way.

We hit the baseball cages yesterday with the professional batting machines. Jagger worked in a pitching session and then hit the machines. His coach and his son showed up as I let them join us to use the machine which Jagger’s pitching coach let us use for free. Normally they run $50 an hour to use. His son jumped in there and we had the machine turned up to 52 miles and hour which is a pretty fast pitch but with Jag, we worked out with the speed turned up to 66mph! He’d hit 60mph pitches before but never 66. I don’t think we’ll face any kids that can throw that fast at this age, it was pretty impressive. Again he looked like a man compared to his teammate who looked like a boy. His coach was quite impressed as Jag even hit a perfect bunt on request off the fast pitches. Hopefully we’ll have practice today as it didn’t snow as they said it would.

Time to run, lots to do, for today and for the future. Hope you all are well, take care and God Bless.
