Almost February?

Man, it’ll be Spring before you know it and then summer. The days run into weeks and the weeks into months, life sure goes fast these days. Time to really start planning out some adventures for not only this year but also next, as soon the kids will be in college, moved out and married!

The kids played most of the day but Jag and I did go to a mini baseball practice. We only called 4 kids but were basically just working on pitching. Jag threw the ball for the first time since getting his cast off but I didn’t let him pitch yet. He needs to work his arm back into shape through light throws and some weight work. He’s a little sore today which is understandable.

I have a call at 7 and then at 9:30. After that an appointment at 11 and then some computer work. Lori has clinic today and was late getting home last night due to an emergency with a patient whose stitches broke open.

Ty grew yesterday, he’s sure getting tall. You literally can almost see him growing daily. Nothing else exciting, time to get moving so we’ll talk tomorrow. Hope all’s well with everyone, take care and God Bless.

Too bad

Can’t believe the Packers lost, it just wasn’t meant to be, kind of like the Bronco’s. My Mom just has to be crushed.

Today the boys are out of school. They’re both sleeping in. Lori and I are both hard at work as usual. I think I’ll try to take the boys somewhere later today. It was a nice day yesterday but windy. Today is supposed to be nice but then turn much colder late tonight, not much else going on. Oh yea, the Patriots also won and are being investigated for deflating footballs in yesterdays game, cheaters again. The only bright side about the Super Bowl is whoever loses, will make us happy as we hate both teams. Too bad they can’t both lose.

Guess I’ll run, hope everyone is well, take care and God Bless

Super Sunday

Two big football games today. First up is the Packers and the Seahawks, guess who we want to win. Next is the Patriots and Colts and even though the Colts beat us, I still want them over the Patriots. Not sure how much I’ll get to watch of either game as I have baseball tryouts around 1pm and then will try to get the last few Christmas lights down from the big tree.

Ty had a good birthday but his party is next weekend. I did go get sushi to go last night which was really good. His cake wasn’t too shabby either, chocolate with butter cream frosting, yum.

Everyone is still sleeping except Mojo and me. I’m going to head out to the gym as soon as my iPod recharges. It’s really hard to workout without music.

No politics again today. I’m really trying to just let it go. You all still need to stay informed though, don’t stick your head in the sand.

Time to run, oh, one more thing. We were all driving in the car yesterday and the subject of dogs came up and Ty, who was in the back seat, said something about an Australian Shepherd and what did I hear? Well I heard Italian stripper! I knew I had bad ears but that’s pushing it a little. As Lori was laughing she said I have to put that in the blog, so there you are.

God Bless.

Happy Birthday

Today Ty is 11 years old, whoo hoo! I think he’s going to Jump Street with a couple friends and then we’re having his big party next weekend. He’s pretty excited as are we. It’s 7am now and of course Ty is up but Jagger is still sleeping. We might hit the Stock Show too, not sure.

Vinny just called and the first the first thing Ty said was “Vinny, I’m older than you”! Too funny.

As I said yesterday, the boys are off Monday but Lori and I have work as usual. Guess our jobs don’t care much for MLK Day. We’re both still tired but up and going. Hope everyone is well, take care and God Bless.

3 day weekend

Tomorrow the 3 day weekend starts but of course that’s only for the kids. Lori and I will be working hard as usual on Monday. Ty’s birthday is tomorrow, baseball tryouts are Sunday and warmer weather is supposed to be here in full force. It might get up to 60 degrees today which would be a welcome change.

I’m leaving at 6:30 this morning to get a bed liner put in the truck. I should be home by 7:30 or so (I’ll take Uber) and then will see if I can find a ride back to the place around 10am. Mojo is sleeping on his new bed these days (memory foam) and we took his crate and put it in the garage. He missed it at first but now I think likes the freedom of being able to stretch and roam throughout the house.

I should have taken a picture of Lori yesterday as she looked like she stepped right out of some fashion show in Paris in one of her new Christmas dresses. She’s in the middle of employee reviews which I need to start next week.

Yesterday I made it to the gym, the distributor and Costco. You can’t seem to get out of Costco for less than $250 anytime you go. Everything is like at least $20. It’s now 5:20, so guess I’ll run and get the day started. Everyone is still sleeping which is good. I think we’ll also try to get to the Stock Show this weekend to see some horses if we can.

That’s it, hope all’s well, take care and God Bless and Go Packers!

Warming Up

They say it’s supposed to warm up today but it’s only about 20 degrees right now at 6am. Yesterday most of the snow did melt on the roads but we still have some in the yard. Lori is up early as she has her first sales meeting of the year this morning before work.

Last night we had our first parent meeting for baseball from about 6 until 7:30pm. About half the parents showed up, some called and said they couldn’t make it and one or two others just didn’t respond. We’re thinking of cutting the kids that didn’t respond as this is a new year with new responsibilities. We’re playing competitive baseball which means if not you’re not committed to the team, we don’t want you on the team. Tryouts are this Sunday in Golden so we’ll be there trying to pick up 2 or 3 new good players to join our team.

Today I need to go to the distributor in the morning to pick up some wine and then have some more computer work. We did get a new truck yesterday! We went back to Chevy from Ford. Our Ford had 20,000 miles on it and was a couple years old and we had about $5000 equity in it (meaning it was worth more than we owed) and my buddy who is the sales manager at the Chevy dealer used an employee’s name there to get us the dealer employee pricing on top of all the rebates and other incentives such as holdbacks, etc. Not sure if you understand the car business but there’s an inflection point when a used car or truck is at it’s peak value used, (usually 2 1/2 years after it was new) meaning there’s an optimum time to move it and get a new one. Dealers don’t really tell you this as they always try to get into used vehicles as cheap as possible. Anyhow our payment changed by $9 and we now have $8000 equity in our new truck and are driving a new 2015 HD2500 which is amazing. New cars these days even have Wifi hotspots in them like a router so you now have an internet connection and stuff! Lot’s of other upgrades too numerous to list as well.

Well time to go, it’s 6:15 already and I need to get moving. Lori needs to leave at 7 so she’s in the shower. We decided since we’re always tired these days, we should probably start going to bed at 6pm!

Take care and God Bless.

The cast is off!

This morning Jagger had his cast removed. His arm is a little raw and sore but he’s good to go. While there I asked Dr Viola who’s also a friend about the pain in my hand and turns out I have arthritis, super. When it gets bad enough he said he can do a quick fusion operation that’ll fix it. Guess he just did Howie Long’s kids hand who plays for the St Louis Rams. Good to know.

We made it back to Denver by a bit after 10 and then I took Jag to school. Next up I headed to the phone store as I switched from one carrier to another to save money on our bill. Then it was on the phone for a few hours before Ty called not feeling well which necessitated a trip to school to pick him up. Another hour and a half later and it was time to pick up Jagger.

Throw in some homework, a snack, a trip to the carwash and the day was done. Lori made it home by a bit after 6 and was recruited by Ty to help with some homework.

Tomorrow night we have a baseball meeting with parents and players. I volunteered to be Assistant Coach this year as we lost ours last year and our Coach and Team really needs the help. I really don’t have the time but I’ll make time as it’s for Jag. I’ve already asked another dad who we’re friends with to help out as well. We need to pick up a couple of good players this Sunday at the tryouts.

Time to run, not really surprised nobody commented yesterday. Even so, I’m still going to point things out from time to time. That’s my privilege as I write most of the blogs, so there.

Take care, God Bless

Cleaning house

Yesterday the Denver Bronco’s John Elway fired the entire coaching staff, yea! It was also revealed that Peyton Manning had been playing for a month with a torn quad muscle. My brilliant wife pointed this out some time ago before anyone else knew, hmmm. So now the search is on for the next Head Coach. We also have the torturous task of waiting to find out if Peyton can or wants to, play again next year. Let the games begin.

We cleaned our house so Elvia, our house cleaner, could come and clean our house! You see, we have to clean so she can come and clean, doesn’t sound right but that’s the way it is. Ty was home sick as he had a bit of a fever and was nauseous. He did get some reading in during the day which was good.

This morning Jagger and I are off to Frisco to see the doctor as I said yesterday. Sure hope his arm is good enough to lose the cast. Lori is working hard as usual and so am I.

I didn’t see any responses to my post from yesterday, guess none of you know why our Country didn’t send the President or at least a high ranking official to Paris either. I mean we could have at least sent Biden as everyone thinks he’s important even if we all know he’s just around to make O look good as he consistently sticks his foot in his mouth. Hard to figure why the Pres didn’t go but his spokesman did say today they should have sent, ah, someone. When asked why the President himself didn’t go with all other World leaders, he bobbed and weaved until he came up with the excuse of “we couldn’t get security together fast enough”. But then an astute reporter asked how they managed to go to Nelson Mandela’s funeral with no notice and he was stumped. What a joke the once revered Office of the President has turned into. It’s embarrassing. And when asked what the Pres was doing yesterday as his schedule had no events scheduled, the spokesman couldn’t answer either as it turns out our Pres was watching football!

Democratic strategist Doug Schoen, that’s right, democratic, said the President has “morally abdicated his place as the leader of the free world.” The decision to stay in Washington, Schoen wrote, “sent a clear message to the world: He just doesn’t care.”

He also lamented that our President “is the only Western leader who has refused to call this attack Islamic terrorism, even though President Hollande has declared that France is it at war with radical Islam.”

What in the hell is going on? So much for staying away from politics, sorry, I tired but this is just unbelievable. You couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried.

Let’s see, what else, oh yea, we had a suspected ebola patient in quarantine here in Denver who is from Jefferson County, where we live, super! Latest news is that they think he’s negative, whew. Like I always say, wash your hands!

On another note, it’s 4 days until Ty’s birthday, whoo hoo! Then it’s 2 weeks until my Mom’s, a bigger whoo hoo!

That’s about it, let’s see, take care, stay safe, be vigilant, wash your hands, keep your powder dry and watch your top knot! God Bless.

What a bummer

Well it wasn’t what it was supposed to be. We were all pumped up for a good game but what we got instead was pretty much a one sided thrashing at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts. Not what we all had in mind. It was cold but not too bad until about 4 minutes left in the game when the rain started so that’s when we left. Oh well, it’s just a game, we’ll get em next year!

Aunt Ali not only took the boys to the movies, but she also commented!

Blondie says:

Good stuff😊

Thanks much on both accounts!

Today we’re back at it, work work and more work. Lots to do for both of us.

I’m going to lay off the politics and such for a bit but do yourself a favor and take what I say seriously. Just yesterday the terrorist group Isis issued a decree to kill all non believers in Western countries such as the U.S., Canada, France and Australia in particular, starting now. Now the odds of you having any trouble are obviously small but you do need to be aware, especially when in areas of large crowds or at what is considered a landmark. Law Enforcement agencies nationwide are also on high alert as they too have been targeted. Don’t expect to hear much about this in the mainstream news as they’ll never tell you for fear of a panic, but it is real and it is here, even though you don’t see it.

So much for laying off it huh. Well better safe than sorry.

It’s cold and snowy here today so they say, we’ll see what the morning brings. Tomorrow Jagger and I are off to the mountains for another doctor appointment. Hopefully hell get his cast off!

Looks like I’m a 1K at United again this year meaning a 100,000 mile flier in 2014 but it doesn’t look like I’ll have that status in 2016, so we’re going to try to plan a trip somewhere while we can still take advantage of my status. We’re thinking maybe Scotland, that sounds  fun. We also plan on going to Sacramento in early June when school gets out and someplace hopefully warm for Spring Break.

Time to get moving, hope you all are well, take care, stay vigilant, and God Bless.

p.s. Go Packers! And in closing would somebody please explain this to me?

  • MORE THAN 40 WORLD LEADERS, many of America’s strongest allies — including British Prime Minister David Cameron (far left), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (center left), French President Francois Hollande (center right), German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi (far right) — march together in Paris yesterday with more than a million people denouncing Islamic terror. The question today: Where was President Obama or Vice President Biden — and why is the White House avoiding publicly linking last week’s terror attacks to radical Islam?

  • And yet our Pres or ANYONE from our Country is nowhere to be found, unbelievable!

What gives? Did the post yesterday not spur any thoughts? Sometimes I feel like we’re just talking or writing to the wall. I get great feedback from Lori everyday and for what it’s worth, she thought yesterdays post was particularly good. I’m not asking for much, how about just an “I agree” or “good stuff” or something. Those of you that can’t figure out how to comment are excused. No need to bring a note from your mother.

Well yesterday we managed to get the Christmas decorations down and up to the attic above the garage. We also caught most of each of the two football games although neither of our teams won. That means if we can win this afternoon we’ll be headed to New England to play the big baby also known as Tom Brady. First up though this morning the Packers play the Cowboys which should be a really good game. So today you all need to cheer and pray for the Packers and the Broncos, then we’ll worry about next week.

Take care and God Bless.
