Company coming to town!

Today I have a couple of guys that work for us arriving for a few days. They’re staying in town (Vail) and this evening we’ll meet up with a bunch of our distributor managers from around the Country who are all in Vail for their Winter Meetings. Tomorrow the three of us will work and then one guy leaves while the other stays and skis with us Friday and Saturday.

Lori came home a bit early as she threw her back out. She’s hunched over and on medication trying to get better but will be home today. I need to clean up the basement and get some laundry going so time to run. We didn’t watch the Pres’s speech last night as the guy is delusional. We did hear that anyone who doesn’t think the economy is booming or something to that effect, are crazy or something. Guess he didn’t notice the worst January in the stock market in over 25 years, oil at $30 a barrel (good for gas prices, definitely bad for the economy) and our food and medical cost going up again. I guess when the taxpayers (you and me) can pick up the $8,000,000 bill for your Christmas vacation, the economy is doing pretty good. That’s it, can’t write anymore about this guy. Sure will be glad when he’s gone.

God Bless

Overslept!

It’s 7:15am and yes, we overslept. Guess we needed it. Lori has clinic, the boys have school and I have an appointment to fix my windshield at 11am in Denver after a trip to the distributor. I had a meeting after school for Ty’s hut trip next week. He ski’s, climbs, hikes, over 10 miles at 10,000 feet and above for 2 days. They start getting ready at school today.

We need to run now as we leave in 40 minutes. Have a great day, lots going on, GB.

Lots of turns

Yesterday the boys and I were on the hill by 9am and didn’t stop until about 12:30. In case you don’t know, that’s a lot of turns! The snow was great and both boys are getting better every day. Then we watched some football, some good and some bad. At least the Packers won, although the Seachickens lucked out when Minnesota missed a chip shot field goal with 20 seconds remaining. Oh well, we need to worry about the Steelers.

Today I’m off to Denver for a 10am meeting and Ty needs to get into the orthodontist as he has two pieces of metal that have fallen off. We just heard David Bowie died! How sad.

Guess I’ll run as I have some more computer work to do before I hit the road. Hope all’s well, God Bless.

Cold and snow

It took us a few hours to get to Denver in the snow but we made it. We dropped Mojo at the groomers, Lori at the groomers (hairdresser), Ty at Vinny’s and then Jag and I headed to the mall to return some Ugg’s for Grandma. We also shopped for Jag who in the end came home with an updated wardrobe. Finally we made it back home by about 7pm.

Football was in full swing with game one over and the second game going on. The second game, Pittsburgh and Cincy, was crazy with Cincy imploding in the last 90 seconds to give Pittsburgh the win. This means the Steelers will play us here next Sunday.

Today the boys want to go skiing so I need to tough it out even though I don’t feel like it at all. I’ve got a sore throat sort of and people coming to town this week and I need to go to Denver tomorrow but they want to go, so I guess we’re going. It’s cold this morning, below zero so we’ll need to bundle up. Hope all’s well, GB

Skiing and snow

Yesterday as you know was Ski Friday. Jag and I hit the slopes while Ty went with the lacrosse coach. We ran into each other at mid Vail. It was a fun day on the mountain. Afterwards we decided to head to Elways for dinner as I hadn’t met with the wine buyer yet and we sell a ton to them in Denver.

It’s 7:15 and we’re going to try to get out of here within an hour. Not sure if Jag is coming or staying home. We have 4 inches or so of fresh snow and the roads are already packed coming from Denver to the mountains but fine going down. Mojo is coming along to get groomed. TIme to run, enjoy football and Go Packers! God Bless

Mint and more mint

Ski Friday, whoo hoo, the boys are out mid morning for a ski day and I’m going to go join Jag while Ty is skiing with some buddies from school. Last night Jag finished up his science project that was seeing how mint or mint extract, affects the temperature of water. He had spearmint, peppermint and wintergreen for his experiment. In short, it involved putting some in different glasses of water and then monitoring the temperature. The only problem was, this stuff is strong! The whole house smelled like mint so much that we had to open the windows. You could even feel it in your eyes. Hope he gets an A! Some of his buddies were experimenting with sour milk so I guess we shouldn’t complain.

Lori is working hard and I have some work to do this morning to prepare for my meeting in Monday in Denver. We are also going down tomorrow so Lori can get her hair done and I’ll get a haircut too. Then I think we’ll stop by Grandma’s and see how the football games are going. That’s it for the day, time to run as you guessed it, coffee is done! GB

Snow, again

I woke up this morning to a thin blanket of snow. It’s not too bad and we’re really ok with it, despite today’s title. After all, it’ll be Spring in 75 days.

Yesterday was more of the same. Lori worked late and the boys were at school. I managed to get some more work done but still have a ways to go. Thankfully the Bronco’s have a bye this weekend so I can get caught up. We’ve been planning Ty’s birthday as he’s having a party up here and then one in Denver too when I go to the game a week from Sunday.

As I said a day or so ago, the month is getting away from us. I have people in town next week and then am traveling the following two weeks and also have Luisa and her family here the last week of the month.

The coffee maker just beeped so that means it’s ready. Time to run, hope you are all well. By the way, the economy is not off to a good start, hmm, more of the same I think. God Bless.

Hump Day, mid week, the peak

Yup, it’s Wednesday. Although we just wrapped up the winter break, it doesn’t feel like we had much of a break! Lori and I are both on the “program” meaning we’re each following our fitness and diet regimen of choice. She always does this soup cleanse and I basically follow a low calorie, high workout, no sugar or carb, diet. The key for me is to stay on the workout schedule which is hard with two kids and a job.

Yesterday Ty had a tooth pulled and was very brave. The dentist was a very nice guy that’s also the guy who handles the hockey team up here so you know he’s good. He’s going to see if he can fix my front tooth that I damaged 30 years ago playing basketball, you know, the brown one, ha ha.

Jag is in the middle of a Harvard Leadership Conference all week at school where he doesn’t have any regular classes and is instead working with students and faculty from Harvard on, you guessed it, leadership. What a cool thing. We had nothing like that when we were kids.

That’s about it, lots to do, hope all’s well, take care and God Bless.

Tuesday, I think?

We’re back at it but even though it’s only January 5th, Lori and both feel about a month behind. Things are so hurried we’re not even sure what day it is. Now that we have our bearings and know it’s Tuesday, time to get moving.

I’m off to Big D at 6:30, Lori has clinic, Jag has nordic after school and Ty has a dentist appointment to have a tooth pulled at 3:40 pm. It’s now 5:55 am so technically I’m late. Lori has a pounding headache and is probably coming down with the crud going around the office. Next week I have people in town for Winter Meetings, two of mine and a bunch from a supplier we work with that had chose Vail for their meetings. The following week I’m in Vegas and then the week after, New York. Throw in a couple (I hope two!) Bronco playoff games (whoo hoo) and it’s a busy month.

Hope all’s well, time to run, and I do mean run, to get the day started. Take care and God Bless.

Back at it

School and work, here we go. Thankfully the Bronco’s won and Peyton returned in storybook fashion to lead us to victory. I’m sure my Mom is sad the Packers lost but they’re probably better off playing the Redskins next week than Minnesota again. Can’t wait for the playoff game here January 17th and 2:40pm! Go Broncos!

Yesterday Lori took the boys and Warner sledding while I worked on the computer. I have a lot to do today and frankly, this month. Tomorrow I’m in Denver and Ty has a tooth pulled and Jag has nordic plus some of Ty’s braces fell off last week. Lots to do, time to run, God Bless.
