A break today

I thought I was coming down again today but I’ll now be waiting until tomorrow. Turns out I can wait a day which saves me a trip. Yesterday it was a whirlwind trip with me making it back just in time to pull into the school parking lot as I came down Vail Pass.

Last night we had Lori’s welcome dinner which was really fun. Everyone loves Lori, of course, and we all had a good time. Today she has a doctors wives luncheon and then tomorrow a dinner with some doctors as they’re interviewing some new pain management guy.

It’s now 6:36 so time to go. The endless battle of bills goes on, sure wish our house would sell. Hope all’s well, take care and God Bless.

Off to Denver, 3 days in a row!

That’s right, I’ll be driving a bunch for the next 3 days but the big news of the day is Ty has a broken foot! He broke it in 2 places on Sunday while we were at the game. Apparently it’s near his growth plate on his big toe joint and then also over near his little toe on the same foot. He was complaining but we thought it was just bruised but Lori, since she’s almost like a doctor, ha ha, decided to take him in with her. Good thing she did. He’s now on crutches for a week until they look at it again and see if it straightens itself otherwise it’s surgery.

The Mom where he was all day is devastated. She kept apologizing and when Lori took her son home last night (he and Jag went to the girls volleyball game) they brought out a present and a card for Ty. Ethan (Jag’s friend) kept saying what a tough kid he is as he never complained while there.

So we have that going for us. It’s cool and raining on and off up here which sure is nice. A buddy of mine ordered up some skis at no charge for Jag this winter yesterday. He owns a shop and I helped him out with a problem a few years ago. Good karma!

Tonight we have the clinic welcome dinner for Lori with 17 of us going to TiAmo. That’s at 6pm so I need to get back up the mountain as soon as I can. I need to get moving so that’s all folks. Hope you have a good day and are getting ready for a long winter. I’ve been abstaining from politics as I am just astonished at the incompetence of our leaders on both sides. That’s why guys like Trump and Sanders and Carson are doing so well, people are finally fed up, rightfully so. In any case, it’s great to see Hillary implode on her own. I mean what a mean spirited, egotistical, lying, pandering bitch she is. Sorry to be so blunt but even if you’re a democrat, you have to see that. Thankfully even democratic women are leaving her in droves. Ok, I’ll stop now but what a mess. Take care and hold on for the ride, God Bless.

A close one

Well, our offense didn’t play that well but our defense played great and in the end, we won the game. It was a close one that wasn’t decided until the last seconds. All that matters though is that is was a win as in December no one will remember how close it was, just that it was a win.

Lori and I left around 8:40 in the morning and stopped by the house before heading to Elways for brunch with Don and Kim. After a nice lunch we drove back to our house to park their car in our driveway and then headed off to the game. It was hot but at Lori’s urging I thankfully wore shorts and flip flops. We had a blast at the game even though at times it was pretty boring. again, thank God for our defense and as they say, defense wins championships!

We then dropped Don and Kim at our house and headed up the hill. I made it in record time to Eagle Vail where the boys were as they went to their friends house for most of the day. We then came home and warmed up a bunch of leftovers for dinner. Ty has a sprained or bruised foot from jumping on their trampoline. Jag stayed up late to finish some homework.

It’s now 7:06 and we leave at 7:45 for school so time to run. Hope all’s well, God Bless.

Football!

Today is the first Bronco game and we’re headed down around 9am. Both of our backs are still sore, probably from soccer yesterday. We’re meeting Dr. C and his wife Kim at Elways at 11:15 for brunch before the game. After the game we’ll head up the mountain to what Lori’s friend calls Mini-turn. I think she just said the name wrong not knowing but it’s pretty appropriate as our digs are so small.

Jagger spent the night at Ethan’s and I’ll pick him up at 8:30. Time to run as we’re already running late. Hope all’s well and Go Broncos!

God Bless

Soccer and Octoberfest

At 9am this morning we have another soccer game and then it’s off to Octoberfest. Throw in the Bronco game tomorrow and the weekend is busier than the week!

I picked up the boys after soccer practice yesterday and by the time we arrived home, Lori was there waiting for us. We decided to all go to sushi fir dinner so we drove down valley to Edwards and sat at a nice table outside at Sato, one of our local sushi restaurants.

After that we came home around 7pm and hung out the rest of the evening. My back is getting better and I think Lori’s is too. Her MRI shows she has like 4 slipped discs but the Doc thinks a little TLC should do the trick, Thank God!

Mojo is in and both boys are still fast asleep at 7 am. Time to run so I can get some coffee, have a great weekend, GB.

Both boys received glowing reports from all their teachers at back to school night. There were lots of parents as it was an all school event. We arrived to a reception with refreshments including killer appetizers, beer, wine and assorted non alcoholic drinks. Next up was an introduction speech by the Director of the school who is actually a really cool guy who has been a educator his entire life.

Then we all headed off with maps our kids had made us to each classroom to meet their teachers and learn more about each subject. As I said, both boys are doing great and their teachers had nothing but good things to say about them. That was really good to hear.

This morning I was going to run down the hill to Big D but will postpone that until next week. Of course we are going down Sunday for the big game. I guess the Patriots were cheating again as the headsets for the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t work for the entire first half last night.

It’s going to get cool soon as Fall is on the way. I’ve always been able to smell it in the air. Lori is still changing things at work, all for the better. Tomorrow after soccer is Octoberfest in Vail and I think we’ll all walk around town. Should be fun.

That’s it, hope all’s well, God Bless.

Back to school night

It’s harder and harder to get up each morning. Not sure if it’s because it’s getting cooler out or if we’re just getting older. It’s probably a combination of both. We stil get up quicker and easier than the boys!

I had a good meeting in Denver and was back home by 5:30. Lori took off around 4 to get the boys and then just came home. Although it’s awful small in our little house, it sure is nice to be up here. You really notice this after you’ve been up here for a while and then go down to the big city for a day.

Today on the news there’s more random shootings at cars on the freeway in Denver. Not sure what’s going on here but now there seems to be more and more of this. Stupid and scary all at the same time.

My back is still sore and Lori apparently has some slipped discs. She had an MRI yesterday to see what was going on. Thankfully they’re now free for the whole family! I guess hers will heal but it just takes time. Not sure about mine.

Today I have lots of phone and computer work. Then tonight we have back to school night from 6 to 8. So lots going on. On my conference call Tuesday I told my team there were only about 60 work days left in the year, hard to believe.

God Bless

9/9/15

There are a few milestone days coming up on the calendar this month. These events range from biblical to astronomical to historical. I won’t go into all the particulars but it’s a pretty dramatic month. Throw in the anniversary of 9/11 in a couple days along with the 2200 point drop in the stock market so far this month and there’s lots going on to speculate about. The pundits from various fields whether financial or political will all spin their own lies to further their own agendas. It’s hard to tell just what to believe these days. The point here is to think for yourself as whether you know it or not, you are on your own. You see, if or when some larger tragedy strikes, there will be no one coming to help you. So once again I implore you to buy a few extra cans of food, stash a little cash and some bottles of water. Remember the old saying, better safe than sorry!

Now onto the day. I drove down to Denver, again, and will do so again today. Today I am meeting a guy who is flying in from Phoenix to meet me in person before we hopefully hire him away from the top Italian Importer in the Country. We’ve been talking to him for about a year now. This guy is very experienced in mergers and acquisitions meaning buying and adding companies to add value to an existing company which is what we need now. In short, it’s time to set ourselves up to be bought or acquired by a larger entity. We’ll see how it goes, I like him a lot and hope we can get him on board. The end goal it to get paid, in a big way. It used to be we wanted to build a Company to leave to our kids but has now evolved into building a Company to sell so we can leave a bunch of cash to our kids. Keep your fingers crossed.

This morning both kids are not feeling too well. They need to go to school but skipped soccer yesterday as they were feeling punkish. It’s time to run now as they’re not moving from their beds and it’s a bit after 6:30. I can only imagine how hard it’ll be to get them out of bed when it’s snowing out! So, we hope all’s well, I should be home by 6pm meaning Lori will have to get the kids from school. Thankfully there’s no soccer on Wednesday’s. Have a great day and get ready for Fall.

God Bless.

99 days until Jag’s 14th birthday!

Ok so I might be off a day as his bday is December 17th but it’s close! That also means Halloween is about 53 days away, Thanksgiving about 77 days and Christmas is about 106. This means like tomorrow Uncle Tommy will be getting out his Christmas decorations and start shopping!

This morning I’m off to Denver and will probably stay down until tomorrow afternoon if the guy I’m trying to hire can get a flight from Phoenix. The kids are back in school and Lori is back at work. This weekend we have the Bronco’s home opener, whoo hoo!

I woke up about 4:30 as the people next door, (weekend renters) whose unit is a rental, were up early clanging around car doors and the garage door. I thought it was Mojo so I bolted from my bed and ran down to see what was the matter. If I had sprung from my bed, it would be Christmas, get it?

It rained yesterday on and off, pretty heavy. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see snow before the end of the month. They say mid to high 80’s in Denver all week and mid 70’s up here which is darn near perfect.

It’s almost 6 am so time to shower. Lori and I both still have bad backs, wish we could kick it as it’s getting old or I guess what’s really happening is WE are getting old!

Anyhow have a great day and God Bless.

Happy Labor Day

Guess we’re supposed to have some rain showers today. Sorry about missing the post yesterday morning, I did put up a brief summary of the day yesterday afternoon if you want to catch up.

Once we arrived home we began to clean up around here. As I said, I threw my back out a bit unloading the truck so Lori did most of the work. I did get the garage cleaned up a bit and hung some things on the wall to make more room. Meanwhile Lori managed to clean up the basement office where all three of us boys work as well as Ty’s room. Jag had some friends text asking if he wanted to meet them in town so I drove him to the heart of Vail and dropped him off. He hung out with them from about 2 until 6 pm. Gourmet on the Gore was going on so the town was packed with tourists and locals. This festival is where lots of restaurants have tables and serve bite size portions of their best dishes so you can walk around and eat your way through town. After that we grabbed a pizza and that was pretty much it.

Today I need to go to Home Depot and buy some insulation to put up on the basement door to help keep the cold out. I’m also going to get some for the garage window for Mojo as it’s starting to get cold at night. Lori woke up around 4:40 am so I came down with her. Of course she fell back asleep on the couch so now it’s just me that’s up. Mojo is also sleeping next to us on the floor.

That’s about it so I guess I’ll run, hope all’s well, take care, Happy Labor Day and God Bless.
