Another day

Yesterday was consumed with me boxing and shipping wine. In the end I had 26 boxes stacked by the front door waiting for the Fed Ex guy. He wasn’t too happy when he showed up but I always give them a couple bottles of wine which in the end cheers them up. Today I was going to run up to Vail to get a V.P. from Texas settled into a house I arranged for him, his wife and daughter. I called a friend who hooked me up with a place for free as I had helped them out a few years ago with their fundraiser for their Charter School. They land so late though (12:50pm) that I’m just going to send them up on their own. I need to go up Friday to get license plates on the truck so no point going twice.

Lori is working hard too, as are the boys. The house looks a little better with 30 less boxes of wine but we still have a lot to clear out of here. I’ll ship another 10 or so tomorrow and then start the big purge meaning, get rid of it! Aunt Robi said she’d help take any extra. Maybe we’ll drive down to Phoenix for a few days for Spring Break, wonder if it’s warm.

The snow is almost melted here but not quite. It is gone just enough to make Mojo’s paws really muddy every time he goes outside. Not much else, Hillary is supposed to hold a news conference today or tomorrow where she’ll get up and spin and lie to cover her ass. Hopefully people are smart enough to see through her and will stay as far away as possible from her in the next election. But you never know as the general public is pretty stupid and will believe just about anything, which is exactly what she’s counting on.

Oh well, just have to worry about ourselves. Be well, God Bless.

Time to ship wine

Today I need to pack and ship 30 to 40 cases of wine. It’ll take me most of the day but it needs to get done and we need to get it out of the house. Tomorrow I need to take some to Vail and then the rest of the week I need to do whatever I can to get rid of the rest in the house.

Yesterday we ran some errands and lounged around. Lori needs to be at work early today and time to get the boys ready for school. That’s about it, time to run, have a great day,

God Bless

Spring forward

We lost an hour last night when the clocks sprung forward an hour. I just came downstairs and it’s now 9am! Lots to do today so I hope we’re all rested.

Yesterday morning we decided to invite Brooke and her husband and 19 month old baby Cole over for dinner. This meant we had to clean the house. Whenever we need to clean, we invite someone over which then forces us to clean! We started around 9:30 and were finished by 4:30, a half hour before our guests showed up. It’s sure nice to have a clean house but even then we can tell how much we need to purge.

They left around 8:30 which was just fine for us as our late night party nights are over. Guess we’re getting old!

Today we’re going to try to get another room clean and go buy Ty a new dresser. We’re at a standstill in his room until he gets a new one.

Guess I’ll run now as like I said, it’s now after 9am. Hope everyone is well, my caffeine headaches are pretty much gone and it’s supposed to be warmer again today. Take care, God Bless.

Hard to wake up

Man life is different without caffeine. It’s not only hard to get up but harder to then get moving. Not sure if I’ll stay off coffee or not but am giving it a try for a bit to see how it affects me.

Yesterday after school we had to go get fitted for Jag’s uniform and then had practice from 7 until 9pm. Ty went to Vinny’s at 4:30 and then to Kids Night Out at the rec center so he made it home about 10:20. He walked in and said, “Mom, everyone was there” and then proceeded t0 rattle off name after name of all the kids that were there.

Today we’re cleaning again. Not sure what we’ll tackle today but it’ll be something messy. There’s plenty to chose from! I have about 100 cases of wine all around the house so we’ll need to work around those.

It’s finally warming up and a lot of the snow melted yesterday but the grass is still covered. Time to run so I can go wash Lori’s car before the self serve car wash fills up. Have a great weekend, God Bless.

Warming up

We’re hoping for 50 degrees today and if so, Mojo will surely be muddy by the afternoon. At 5pm we head out for baseball uniforms and then have practice from 7 to 8:30 so the evening is pretty much shot. Same old same old at Lori’s work. I did stop by her office yesterday and the remodel sure looks nice. It’s 6:40 now and we’re having a hard time getting the boys moving. I need to go to the distributor to pick up some samples today and also have to finish up my computer work.

So time to run, I’ve had a headache for two days and two nights since I gave up caffeine, hope it ends soon as it’s no fun. Too much crazy political crap going on to even get into it. Hillary though, should be toast. It’s funny to see the dems blame everything on the republicans no matter what happens. Let’s see, she violated Federal law, fired an ambassador for doing what she did, is on multiple videos saying you can’t do (what I did) and even blamed Bush for the same thing and yet the dems say it’s a republican witch hunt. It’s like if she was caught on film robbing a bank, they’d say it wasn’t her! Wow! Lori hopes she goes to jail which is what’d happen to anyone of us but I’m sure she’ll get off.

God Bless

Late night baseball

That’s right, baseball started at 7:30 and was over by 9pm. Before that I had my distributor meeting from 11am until 1pm, Jag had more useless testing from 7:45 until 10:30, Lori worked from 9am until 6pm and Ty had school from 8:15 until 2:45. Add in some homework, dishes, laundry, computer work and video games and you can pretty much sum up our day.

Today will be more of the same although Jagger has the day off. I’m quitting caffeine and am on my second day so you probably don’t want to talk to me. Thankfully it’s warming up starting today as it’s been a good two weeks with lots of snow on the ground.

This afternoon Jagger has a baseball lesson but we’re going to cancel as his arm is sore. I have a lot of computer work to do this morning which I’m going to try to knock out early.

That’s about it but, can anyone believe Hillary? What a loser. She just thinks she can do anything she wants, no matter what the rules or laws are. Thankfully it looks like she’s her own worst enemy. I really can’t believe how many self inflicted gaffs she and her group continue to come up with. And she wants to be President, God help us!

Time to run, God Bless.

More snow, early release and our tv remote

That’s about it, it snowed again, Jag was out at 10am and is again today, and Mojo ate our tv remote control. Looks like we’ll have to break the crate out again. After I pick up Jag at 10:15 I need to head across town to the distributor for a meeting. Lori will be off to work as usual and Ty too, will be headed to school.

It’s 6:42 and we overslept so time to get moving. Hope all’s well, time to run,

God Bless.

Switching schools

Lots going on with Ty’s school and all local education in general. Now if you don’t have kids you most likely have no clue what’s going on. So here it is in a nutshell. If you take all the mandates and regulations coming out of Washington that are made up by senior citizen, life long politicians, who are so out of touch with their communities and especially local schools, and add in the Administrations ideas, you’re pretty much fucked. This is all coming to light right now with these mandated Parcc tests that will consume the remainder of the year and do nothing to prepare the kids for their next year of school. On top of that, Ty’s school has about 2/3rd’s of the teacher either leaving or retiring while the enrollment been swelling with low income and english second language kids.

So yesterday we decided to check out Bell Middle School in Golden. This is a 6th, 7th and 8th grade school that we put in a registration for yesterday. It’ll be a couple weeks before we know if he gets in but if he does, we’ll switch schools next year. Then if he wants, he can try for Manning in 7th grade. All we know is it’s time to get him out of his current school.

Today Jag is off at 10am, then the same again tomorrow and then he’s off all day Thursday. I don’t know how the schools expect working parents to rearrange their schedules when they do something like this. Meanwhile Ty will read a book and do a book report as we opted him out of the testing as did a bunch of other parents. Many didn’t know they could “opt” their child out of this worthless testing until they of course spoke with me. Looks like I personally started a movement.

More snow today, lots of bills to pay, and never ending cleaning is all on the agenda. Lori is busy trying to finish her remodel and keep the office running at the same time. I have a meeting tomorrow of course, (instead of today,) as they’ll be more snow for me to drive in then, super.

Jagger had a baseball session yesterday and is really looking good. We have practice tonight with the entire team but his pitching is really coming along. Yesterday he learned and threw his first change up, which is a type of pitch. By the time the season starts he should have it going on.

Guess that’s it, time to run, hope all’s well, God Bless.

Cleaning out the pantry

We decided to continue cleaning the house and focused on our kitchen pantry thinking we’d knock it out in an hour or so. Little did we know it’d take us most of the day to complete this job. In the end I threw out a trash bag full of old things ranging from spices to old sauces, some with expiration dates going back to 2004! The trash bag had weighed over 50 pounds as I’m pretty strong and had to use both hands to lift it and carry it out to the trash. Good news is one more thing around here is clean. Next up is the mud room while I continue on the t basement.

Today we’re thinking of opting out of some new tests going on in 12 States. There’s a big movement to just say no to these tests that someone somewhere came up with as a way to rate schools. The problem is the teachers have been forced to “teach to the test”, meaning teach only things that will help kids pass this useless test and not teach them what they need to know to prepare for the next year. Jagger too has this and is off something like Tuesday through Thursday. He goes in and takes the test first thing in the morning and then is finished for they day when he’s through, sometime around 10am! We’re more worried about grade school than Junior High so I’ll be calling Ty’s Principal this morning.

Next year we’re even thinking of moving Ty to Bell Junior High in Golden. This school is 6th, 7th and 8th grade while his current school ends after 6th grade next year. The problem is the caliber and number of kids that now go to his current school have dropped and ballooned. (caliber of kids dropped while number of students have ballooned) Plus a lot of teachers are retiring of leaving next year. So lot’s of stuff going on.

Throw in a bunch of drama at both of our jobs and we have a busy busy week. Hope all’s well, God Bless.

March 1st

Yesterday afternoon Lori and I ran down to our friends art gallery to pick out a dozen or so paintings for Lori’s office. She’s going to hang them and put a menu in a frame on the table in case anyone wants to buy one. We also picked out a couple of new ones for our house as Chris (our friend) gives us a piece of art every now and then as we refer a lot of people to her.

Before that we were off to baseball and then Ty went to Vinny’s where he ended up spending the night. Today I have a coaches clinic (baseball) this morning and then will give the house a go as it seems to get messy daily. Both boys are on a deadline to get their rooms clean, we’ll know more this evening as to whether or not they made it.

Still cold and snowy but warmer weather is coming next weekend, so they say. Lori and Jagger are still sleeping so time to run so I can read the paper and drink my coffee before the day gets going. Have a great day, God Bless.
