Last night was a great baseball game, not because of the score but because of the way Jagger played. We actually ended up losing by a large margin but our guy was the player of the game, arguably the best on either team.
First off he made an incredible basket catch in the outfield, then threw all the way to 3rd base almost catching the runner, then making another play while playing 3rd base where he made a great stop, looked the runner back to 2nd and then threw a guy out before he made it to first, then hit a towering double at his first and only at bat and scoring our teams first run. He also stole 3rd! But the thing I was most proud of was when we were down by double digit runs and the entire team was hanging their heads and dejected, our guy was still out there yelling at his team to keep fighting and keep their chins up! There was no way we were going to win and it was just one of those games where lots of our guys made errors but Jag was positive all the way to the end. Everyone congratulated him after he scored so we weren’t shut out but he was very humble to the end.
We saw a couple guys from our team last year who were playing on another team this year waiting for us to finish so they could start their game, and one of the dads told me they’ve all been watching Jag over the past few weeks and how great he’s playing. Now we just need to get about half of our team playing better ball. Some kids just don’t listen or practice or pay attention as they make the same mistakes over and over. I know they’re just kids but its frustrating for the kids that practice and play hard, oh well, it is what it is.
That’s it for today, trying to survive another week. Hope it’ll rain tomorrow as we can use the humidity. We were going to get a humidifier but that’ll have to wait as we must have mailed off 8 more medical bill payments yesterday, it is what it is!
Take care and God Bless.
HAPPY 50TH LORI!
You and Serena look 10 yrs. younger than you are. Eat what you want!
As I said, I agree with Annette, Lori looks great! Ok, last night we had the 5th and 6th grade concert at school. Normally these are really good but last nights concert was just painful. It was with african drums, xylophones, and other instruments and none of it made sense. The only song that was any good at all out of the 1 hour 15 minute concert was the one from Jagger’s class. He and two other boys also performed solo songs on the tenor recorder which is like a flute. Here again, the other two boys struggled but Jag was fantastic! To throw in a little fun, he put on a bright green mustache and wore it throughout the whole show! He said he wanted to do a something a little crazy before it could get put in his permanent record. Too funny, he had lots of high fives from students and parents after the show! When he came up for his solo the music teacher said “wow, you grew a mustache, and I like it”!
Today we need to clean up around here and get ready for the weekend. Peggy from Aspen will be staying here tonight or tomorrow, we can’t remember. I have some errands today and Lori has work and Jagger has baseball practice tonight.
Time to run, lots to do, have a great weekend and God Bless.
