Off to the airport

This afternoon, Annette, Serena and Matt arrive around 2:30. Hope their flight is early so we can get up the hill before the traffic hits. No snow so that’s good.

Jagger is coming with me and we’re dropping his buddy Sam off in Boulder on the way down. Yesterday my buddy Andres went to H&H, (one of our favorite restaurants) and took apart an old train station wooden luggage rack and brought it over in his truck. It’s super cool with iron wheels and made of old wood. We put it next to the fireplace. Lori thinks it’s too big but everyone else thinks it looks great. In the end though, it’s all up to her so it might end up in the garage.

My partner Brian in Phoenix has covid. He emailed yesterday. Not sure if it’s good or bad timing being a holiday week, ha. Ty spent the night at his friends in Edwards. The house cleaners came yesterday so everything is super clean ready for visitors.

I hit the stores in Denver yesterday when my truck was getting fixed. They were already getting packed but most were well stocked. Annette just called so time to get moving. We’ll probably leave around 11 this morning. Hope everyone is doing well. Make it a great week and God Bless.

Busy busy

Big week coming up. Lots to do. I’m headed out to Denver in 45 minutes and hope to be back around noon. Lori’s working in Vail today and the house cleaners are coming around 11. Ty will be here for them. Jag and his buddy Sam will get here some time today from Aspen and then Jag and I will drop Sam off in Boulder tomorrow on our way to the airport.

There was a shooting at a gay club in the Springs the other day. Could have been prevented if they would have kept the attacker in jail a month or so ago when he was involved in another incident. Big fail by the authorities. Personally I don’t care who anyone wants to marry, sleep with, worship, or even what they want to do with their own body. Live and let live, it’s their choice. Even if I don’t agree with someone’s choices, I’ll stand up for their right to choose for themselves. What’s wrong with people, so sad what society has become. RIP and prayers for the victims and their families.

Time to get moving. I have a conference call at 9 and need to be at the dealer by 8 in Denver. Another tough Bronco loss, ugh.

Make it a great day and be thankful for each day. God Bless.

Ty is home!

Yesterday afternoon around 4, Ty strolled in. Lori was excited to see him and have him home. Reminded me of my mom getting excited when us kids would come home. Around 6 he went to Will’s house and then around 8, about 15 of them came here to hang out for the night. They all look older with a half a year of college under the belt. There’s still a car or two outside which we’re fine with as we always tell the boys, if someone has too much to drink, make them stay the night.

Lori and I are headed to the gym. We did manage to get some lights up outside and get some groceries and other stuff from Costco. Tomorrow I’m in Denver and Jag is ding heading home from four days in Aspen. Tuesday we’re picking up the California crew at DIA. I think Jag is going down with me.

Dixie is doing well. Somedays she’s sharp and gets my jokes but others, is totally lost. Usually it’s the latter. Cold outside right now, about 3 degrees but not that bad for us. Doesn’t feel that cold. I’m in shorts and a t-shirt. Luckily a big warm up is starting tomorrow. Good timing for the holiday week.

Time to go. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Aspen

Yesterday after the gym, Lori and I decided to take a drive over to Aspen. We had a nice lunch, bought the boys some Christmas presents and met up with Jagger and his buddy Sam for a quick coffee. We made it home a little after 4.

Today Lori has a hair appointment in Glenwood at 10:30. Guess I’ll go with her. When we get home we need to hang some lights outside on the house and trees. Nice and calm up here, just the way we like it.

For some reason the check engine light came on in my truck while in Aspen yesterday so it’ll have to go in Monday morning for a checkup. Always something. Ty is coming up today. Sonny flew into Denver last night and stayed with Ty and they’re picking up Will who fly’s in today and then the three of them will drive up.

That’s about it. Better get moving. Hope everyone has a great pre-Thanksgiving week weekend. God Bless.

No snow

Nice and calm and clear up here. Down in Denver though, they have 2 to 10 inches depending on where you live. I guess the real issue is the cold temperatures down there. Not sure how cold it is but we’ve had cold temps for a while. Good news is next week it’ll be in the 50’s in Denver and 40’s up here! That’s almost summer!

Today we’re hanging around the house. Tomorrow Lori is headed to Glenwood to get her hair done in the morning. Jag took off last night for Aspen to beat the snow in Denver, good decision. Ty is either coming up tomorrow or Sunday.

Lori did a little more decorating around the house yesterday. We have a lot to do before Tuesday when the California crew arrives. Lori wants to go to the gym this morning as she’s cleared to workout and wants to get back into the groove.

I was thinking we might go to Aspen ourselves today or tomorrow but tomorrow is probably out with Lori getting her hair done from 10:30 until noon. Maybe well run up after she’s done.

Time to get moving, enjoy the day and God Bless.

Staying home!

By 8am I was at Home Depot in Golden and then down at the Denver Aquarium by 8:30 where I met Toby. Next up was a stop at the bank before my haircut and meeting Ty. After that, a quick stop at an account and the dry cleaners and I was headed home.

Weather is moving in today and we have cigar night at 5pm tonight. This morning we’re headed to the gym. Lori had a bad headache from working yesterday but is better today.

Tuesday Serena, Matt and Annette arrive. Looks like I’ll need to go get them in Denver at the airport. We were hoping to have them ride up on a shuttle but there isn’t one where the time works out. We have a lot to do this weekend to get ready for them. Should be fun.

Jag is headed to Aspen Friday until Monday. Lori and I might run over Saturday for the day. Ty is coming up Sunday. Can’t wait to have the boys home.

Thank God the Republicans won the House. Probably isn’t good for getting much done the next two years but at least they’ll be able to limit some of the damage Biden would do with control of both branches of the govt. What a shit show, we need term limits bad.

Time to go, be well and GB.

A break

Weather was sort of crappy yesterday. Today it’s going to be nice, so they say. Tomorrow, a little snow. Next week they say it’ll warm up just in time for Annette who hates the cold. Now before anyone gets excited (Annette), warm up means like 40 degrees, but that’s better than 5 degrees which it is outside right now.

I’m meeting Ty this morning at Phoebe’s for haircuts. Then I need to return some things at Home Depot before heading home. Lori is working in Frisco today. Her doctor appointment went great and she’s all cleared to go back to working out without any restrictions.

Time is moving fast these days. It’ll be 2023 before we know it. Think we’re going to go to Hawaii after Christmas if we can find a place to stay. We might stay at James, we’re waiting to see if it’s available.

5:45 am now so time to go. I’m meeting Toby at 8:30 to pick up a check for a couple high end rifles I flipped. College is expensive, thank God I have a side gig I’m pretty good at. I don’t know how anyone survives without a side hustle. The governments policies are forcing everyone to get some sort of extra income to make ends meet. At least the GOP is going to win the House. I heard Trump announced he’s running in 2024. Why can’t this guy just go away. His time is over. All he’ll do is screw things up. Now watch him win, ha.

Time to move and groove, God Bless.

Snowing in Denver

I thought I was only having to make the “drive” twice this week but Lori has her post op appointment today which I forgot about. So it looks like I’ll be doing my thing three days in a row this week. Then I’m done!

I was in and out of town by 11 so it was a pretty quick trip. Jag and Ty are doing fine. They’re wrapping up school this week and will be up here on the weekend. Can’t wait to have them home for a week.

Christmas is coming on fast. The radio is playing Christmas songs, stores are decked out and sales are everywhere. The economy is not doing well, no matter what the Dems tell you. Everyone and every business I know is struggling. Don’t expect things to get better next year either. It’ll probably take until 2024 before we see any major turnaround. The people (libs) are going to get what they voted for and it won’t be good. Buckle up and get ready for the ride.

Almost 7am so time to get moving. Need to be out of here by 8 for Lori’s 10:30 appointment. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Off to Denver

Headed down today and then again on Wednesday, then that’s it hopefully for the week. Lots going on. We had a dusting of snow last night, not sure how much is on the pass. I hope to be back by 1 at the latest.

Yesterday we had Dixie up for a few hours. She’s looking frail but doing ok. I’m laying off the gym for a bit, just need a break. Lori is home today and is working the next two days.

6:06 am now so time to get moving. Looks like a cold week. Make it a great day, God Bless.

Yellowstone

Tonight the 2 hour premier of Season 5 of our favorite show is on. I think everyone watches Yellowstone but if you don’t, you should.

Football is on from Germany right now. I wasn’t going to watch but there’s nothing else on right now. The Broncos are on at 11.

We didn’t get any decorations up yesterday but did get to Dixie’s to get her place partially decorated and cleaned. She thinks her parents are on an extended trip to Europe and has thought this for the past month or so. She’s also losing weight and her hair is falling out a bit. She’s 91 and 1/2 but don’t count her out just yet. I told Lori, at least she’s happy and knows who we are for the most part.

Jag is headed back to Boulder from Crested Butte today and Ty is in Denver. We might go to the gym, not sure yet. Time to get moving, make it a great day, GB.
