Colorado Springs

I was home around 11:30am and my colonoscopy went fine. I was in and out, and so were they, ha ha, quickly. Looks like I’m all good for another 5 years, knock on wood. Lori dropped me off and picked me up. I was thinking, Tom, have you had one of these yet? If not, you need to get in as you need to start at age 50, especially with our family history. I know Robi has them.

Big news! Robert won the contest from the other day correctly naming Skid Row as one of the two bands to have a song named Sweet Little Sister. The other was Bad Company. Your prize will go out in the mail tomorrow! Oh, Robi, I ordered myself a pecan pie from Texas yesterday!

I’ll leave in about an hour for the Springs and hopefully be home by 5, weather permitting. There will be rain and snow on my trip. I need to get snow tires on Lori’s car asap. Think I might put studs on just to be safe.

Lori has a cold and is feeling crappy. She should stay home otherwise she might infect Dr. B. That’s it, make it a great day, God Bless.

Up early

5am. Up early as I have that colonoscopy this morning. Yesterday Paul finished up our windows. I helped him wash and dry the screens and put them back on. We sure have a lot of windows. After he finished, the difference was unbelievable. It’s like every window isn’t actually there or like you’re looking through a camera lens as they’re so clean and clear. It made a huge difference and was well worth the money. What’s the point of having a house with a great view and lots of windows if you can’t see out of them! We’re good now until Spring but will definitely do it again.

Lori will drop me off a bit after 9 and pick me up at 11. Tomorrow I’m in Colorado Springs seeing two accounts. It’s a long drive but worth it. The weather should be fine as it’s the day to go this week if I’m going to go. I’ll leave around 7:30 and should be home by 5.

Ty went to a haunted house last night with Maddie. Guess it was the big one in Denver. We’re all set for the concert. Not sure where our seats are but Elton’s production manager told Ray, “Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of Doug and put him with Elton’s guests” so I’m sure we’ll have great seats. We’re really glad the boys will get to see Elton as this will probably be his last tour.

Lori is working in Edwards today and Frisco tomorrow. I’m super hungry so I can’t wait for lunch time. Think I’ll order myself a pecan pie, ha! Oh, one last thing, turns out there’s less than a 1 in 100 million chance covid originated outside of a lab! Hmmm anyone surprised. I’m not. Make it a great day and God Bless.

Hold on

It’s going to be a busy week. A week from today is Halloween. Today after 10am, no food for me, ugh. Another Bronco loss. Wish we’d fire our coach. And last, the inside of our windows are getting cleaned today.

Yesterday we hung out around the house. Lori did go visit Dixie and as she said, we watched the stupid lame football game. Ty went to the game and stayed until 4 minutes were left as he had to take Maddie to work. He has a psychology test today and is doing really well in school.

I think Harry might stop by on his way back home to California this morning. Lori works from home today. Last night at 8, there was a knock on the door and our neighbors, and their 3 little girls were outside as the girls made me cookies. They’re probably between 4 and 10 years old and I dropped watermelons to them all summer long. Their dad is one of the docs at Lori’s clinic. Super nice family. That’s it, time to get moving. Make it a great week.

Cruising around

Lori and I went to Denver yesterday to look for costumes. We came up with a few ideas but didn’t buy much. We did order some things off Amazon, more to come on this in the coming days. On the way home we stopped at James to hang out for a couple hours with him and his assistant Ray who is visiting from California until tomorrow. I’ve known Ray for 4 years or so. Somehow, we got on the subject of the price of concert tickets. I think we were talking about how expensive Elton John tickets were. Ray said fuck that and that the long-time production manager for Elton was a huge fan of the band and said, let me text him and see what’s up. By the time we made it home, Ray texted me saying we’re all taken care of by Elton. Whoo hoo, looks like we are going to the show after all as guests of EJ and at no charge. Fun. We’re super excited for the boys to see him and Ray said we should have killer seats. Good to know people who know people, right?

We had good rain last night but no snow, we’ll take it! Think we’ll hit the gym and then watch football. I have a routine colonoscopy Tuesday am so not much food today and none tomorrow after 10am. Good news is by noon Tuesday I’ll have lost 5 to 7 pounds! Another whoo hoo!

Ty’s going to the game today. Looks like our QB isn’t playing. We’ll see how that goes. Right now it can’t be worse than what’s been happening.

Now for the big news of the day, It’s Robin’s birthday! WHOO HOO HOO! I think she’s 64 although I still think of her as somewhere in her 40’s at most. I think she said they’re going to one of their favorite bars to watch football. We sent her a pecan pie from Brazos Texas that was voted the best pecan pie in the World. This is the second year we’ve sent one as she likes it. I wanted one but didn’t trust myself with my colonoscopy coming up, ha. Have a great day sweet little sister! Pop quiz! What band did that song? The answer tomorrow, here’s a clue, two bands did a song titled Sweet Little Sister. No cheating by looking on the internet machine or asking your phone. If you know the answer, text me. Fist winning answer gets a prize!

Again, so glad we dogged the snow so far. That’s it, enjoy life and live each day and God Bless.

Fun

Last night at 8 we all went to Craftsman’s new restaurant. They took over an old brewery. There were 11 of us and it was a blast. The food was great and we had a fun time. We’re not used to going to dinner at 8:30 at night but it was perfect.

Yesterday we had the outside windows cleaned and Monday Paul, our window cleaner, will finish up inside. Around 11am Harry showed up! His sister Helen’s youngest daughter is getting married today so Harry drove out for the wedding. We hung out for a few hours before he headed to his sisters in Lakewood, and he’ll stop by Monday on his way back to California. It was great to hang out as Harry and I have been friends since like 5th grade. He lives in Colfax for you California readers.

Snow tomorrow. Might start after midnight tonight. Should wrap up by Monday. Ty has a bad cold and is planning on going to the game tomorrow, but if he’s not better Jag will go instead.

I did get to the gym for a small, light workout yesterday. Trying to decide if I’ll go this morning or not. We have a Halloween party a week from today and need costumes so we might head to Denver to search for costumes. Lori’s deciding now.

Enjoy the weekend, November is almost here. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Dinner Out

Tonight 10 of us are going to one of our favorite restaurants that moved into a brewery and expanded its menu. It also went from walk up and order to sit down service. James went to the soft opening and said it’s great so we’re super excited. We’re going late, at 8:15, as some of our friends are working until later this evening. Can’t wait.

Yesterday I was down and up to Denver in the morning. Today we’re having our windows cleaned. It’s a two-day job but Paul will do the outside today and the inside Monday. In the past it cost us $500, now it’s $850. Our old guy went out of business.

I saw Ty briefly yesterday when I dropped him off 20 corn dogs. He had just come from a test he said he thinks he crushed. He’s kicking a cold but going to the football game Sunday. It’ll be snowing up here starting Sunday. Forecasts are all over the place from 4 to 12 inches in Vail.

Time to get moving. I haven’t been to the gym in 3 or 4 days as I tweaked my neck a bit and have been letting it rest. I might go this morning for a quick workout with light weights. We’ll see. Make it a great day. Robi’s birthday is Sunday, whoo hoo!

God Bless.

Warm before the storm

On Sunday we should get snow but first up is a few more nice days. Looks like another storm is lined up behind the one coming Sunday and Monday. This morning it’s 31 degrees in Florida!

Ty went to Jag’s yesterday as he forgot some schoolwork there last weekend. Jag called to say Ty ate all his food, ha. He has a couple more tests this week. Jag had his tests a week ago.

Things are going to be tough the next few months. Prices on everything are going up, from heating bills to food to gas, supplies on everyday items will run out and the general mood of the public won’t be good. The U.S. has 25 days left of diesel fuel in stock. Remember all the semi’s that deliver everything everywhere run-on diesel! Get ready, time is running out.

Elton John tickets go on sale this morning at 10am. He’s here November 5th. Maybe we’ll see if we can get tickets to take the boys. Sometimes American Express has a deal where you can buy them early.

The silly season continues. All I know is we’re all voting against anyone in office and voting for the new guy or gal. The ones in office obviously don’t know what they’re doing. When in doubt, vote for the challenger and you probably can’t go wrong, my two cents.

Guess I’ll get moving. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Down and up

Yesterday I made it to Denver and back by 2. That’s pretty good time for the drive and my errands. Today I have a bunch of work and calls until early afternoon. I think my vertigo is back from working out so time to lay off the gym for a while. Lori is in Frisco today and will be home late.

Everyone is fine. They say snow next Monday. Not sure how much we’ll get but Vail could get 6 inches. About time as the average first snow is October 18th.

I have a lot of prep for my 10 am call so time to get going. Make it a great day and God Bless.

Tired

This morning I’m tired, tired of the Bronco’s losing, tired of the political ads on tv and just tired in general from no good sleep. I’m off to Denver today but should be home by 3 at the latest. I just need a good night’s sleep.

On top of everything, I smashed my middle finger on my left hand at the gym yesterday. I dropped a 35 pound weight on it and now it’s all purple. I’m sure I’ll lose the nail. Time for coffee and to get ready to go. That’s it for the day, make it a great day. GB

Beautiful

It was a nice weekend, great to see the boys, CU won, the Broncos didn’t lose, and the weather was great. Yesterday we washed the sheets and cleaned up a bit around here. Today I’m on the basement after a bunch of calls. 60 days from today, give or take a day, is Jagger’s 21st birthday, 90 days until Ty’s 19th and 6 days until Robins! Throw in Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Tom’s and my birthday and we’re busy.

Looks like a good week until we see any moisture. Late starts to winter are good as it’s long enough once it arrives. The Bronco’s play the Charger’s tonight on Monday Night Football. Sure would be nice if we win.

Biden is now trying to tell the Country inflation and every other problem are all the Republican’s fault. Wow, you can’t make this stuff up. He must really believe everyone is as mentally lost as he is.

Time to get moving, lots to do today. Make it a good week and be safe. It’s not the 60’s anymore! God Bless.
