Palm Sunday

Today is the start of Holy Week. The holiest of times of the year.

Yesterday and last night was no fun. The worst part of this whole thing is the headache. It’s like a super stuffed up sinus headache you can’t get rid of. I wake up 3 or 4 times during the night as I can’t get comfortable. This morning I woke up at 4:53 am and couldn’t go back to sleep. Not much on tv at 5am on Sundays.

The thermometer shows no fever which is good, and I don’t have any of that deep cough so many people get. Guess I’m lucky except for the headache. I took some Advil which seems to be helping a bit. I do get sweaty and then clammy but that’s about it, usually after a hot drink like a cup of coffee or tea. As I said, it’s basically a really bad sinus cold. Hope this is over soon.

With me sick, Lori thought it best not to bring Dixie up here. I think they all went to lunch and took her some cake and her presents. Kristin leaves to go home at noon today. Think I’ll take a shower to try to feel better. Make it a great day, God Bless.

And now, Positive

Yesterday while kicking my cold, Lori decided to give me a vid test and voila, I’m now positive! So says the test. I’m not sure I believe it as if I am, I’ve had the vid a dozen times in my life as this is the same old cold with a stuffy nose I’ve had on and off for 50 years. I have no fever, no deep cough, no loss of taste and smell or any of the other symptoms associated with the vid. In any case, I’m less stuffy today and feel much better. I’m tired but that from two nights of bad sleep with a stuffy nose. Good news is I watched The Masters with Tiger Woods all day long.

Dixie wasn’t feeling well so we postponed her birthday celebration until today. I’ll try to find a test today to make sure I’m negative since Dixie will be coming up.

The weather is nice but another round of rain and snow is headed our way next week. We’ll have to see how the week goes regarding heading down to Arizona. Guess I’ll get going, enjoy the day, tomorrow is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week, when Jesus rode into Jerusalem knowing his journey would end in his sacrificial death for the sins of all mankind. If you don’t know the story of Holy Week, go check it out. It is the single most important week in the Christian calendar, and a good story. God Bless.

Negative

Last night Lori tested negative which is good. I though, am fighting a cold from Ty with a stuffy and runny nose. Sitting outside for 3 hours in the wind for Senior Night at lacrosse didn’t help. It was miserable. Each senior walked on to the field with his parents at halftime and had pictures taken. We won 16 to 6 against Glenwood.

Kristin arrived around 12:30. She stayed at the house while we went to the game. Today is Dixie’s 91st birthday! I’m dropping Ty at school and then going to Whole Foods to ger her cake. Not sure I can muster much of anything else today.

No gym today. Jag is well, so is Ty. Think we’re having Dixie up for dinner tonight. Baseball starts today and the Nuggets played a great game last night. Almost 7am so time to get moving, God Bless.

Still sick

Lori’s still fighting the crud and now I have a stuffy nose. I’m a bit better than yesterday but will take a Z-Pak just in case. Kristin arrives today, Ty’s lacrosse game is tonight and it’s also Senior Night. Then tomorrow is Dixie’s birthday.

Yesterday James and I and Davey had lunch. I’ve known Davey since VMS days. His uncle is one of our Supreme Court Justices, Neil. We had a great lunch and then hung out for a bit. Ty needs to go to school around 8 so I’ll be taking him. I need to go get Dixie a cake and some presents.

Still windy but not as bad as the day before. Warm this weekend before rain and snow move back in next week. Thankfully it’s not a lot of accumulation. Time to get moving. Can’t find my Z-Pak, hmm. Be well, God Bless.

Kicking it

Lori’s hanging in there. It’s like a full body cold from what she says with body aches, chills and a headache. She’s also short of breath which is common but no high fever. She still was positive yesterday but doing ok. She’s been hanging out in the basement watching movies and sleeping in Jagger’s room. It’s like she’s still in California as I really haven’t seen much of her.

Ty had lacrosse, I ran a bunch of errands and that was pretty much the day. I have a lunch today and some more stops around the valley. Tomorrow Kristin arrives for Dixie’s birthday and it’s Senior Night at the lacrosse game when we play Glenwood Springs. It was super windy all day yesterday. Tom said it was really windy down in Denver and more is on the menu today, but I think not as bad.

I hit the gym after taking Ty to school yesterday and am working out at 7am this morning, 5:52 now for those of you still sleeping. The farm project is coming together. Between our freezers full of beef and elk and the farm, the only food we’ll need to buy are fresh dairy items like milk and butter.

With Lori out of town last week and now having the vid, James and I’ve been hanging every day. I’m trying not to even be at the house. Marty is in Aspen for some real estate conference and back this weekend. We have our cigar night tomorrow, but I think I’ll be at lacrosse. In about a week, we’re all leaving town.

Biden is out of control. Obama went to the White House yesterday to try to rescue Joe’s presidency and on the news, it showed him speaking and then every Senator crowding around him gushing over him while Biden wandered aimlessly looking lost on the stage. The man clearly has dementia and was totally ignored as the democrats longed for the days of Obama. The decisions he, or whoever is pulling the strings, are making are ruining America. Ending Title 42 letting even more illegals into the Country, the endless push to kill all fossil fuels, no matter the cost and the constant pursuit of Globalization and a New World Order are ending life as we know it. Crime, the economy, inflation and more are rising across the Country. They’re also changing the tax code circumventing Congress through Executive Action to take even more money from all of us. Pray we get through this and stop it dead in its track this coming November. Don’t put it past them to lie, cheat and steal to try to stay in power. We’re at an inflection point in the history of America. This is not an exaggeration. Watch your top knot and get prepared. God Bless.

The vid

Well, Lori has it, the vid. She tested positive twice yesterday and is home recouping. She doesn’t have a fever but does have the chills, a bad, different kind of headache and body aches. She spent the day downstairs watching movies and slept in Jag’s room, and is staying away from Ty and I. She did drive Ty to school yesterday and was of course in contact with me the day before when she arrived home, but so far, I’m ok. Ty had a stuffy nose before she came home. I have her on heavy regular doses of vitamins and stuff so hopefully she’ll be on the mend.

I had a busy day as Melissa and I went to Grand Junction to the farm. We have a lot of work to do but with food prices soaring and fresh vegetables hard to get, we think we have a great opportunity for a nice side hustle. We’ll have tons of fresh veggies weekly and hundreds of jars of food canned, like beans, peppers, carrots, salsa, peaches, etc. I think we’ll sell all we can produce with no problem.

In the afternoon James and I hung out for a while. Then I had to go get Ty from lacrosse at 8pm. Today he leaves for school around 8:30 and I’ll go to the gym. Lori will stay in bed drinking lots of liquids and resting. I did go see Dixie as obviously Lori can’t go see her.

No snow but cooler temperatures this morning. This weekend will be in the 70’s, about time. We’re ready for Spring. Lots of severe weather across the Country. Lots of shootings in big cities too. Biden now wants to ban assault rifles, *tip, there’s no such thing! James and I figured out how to stop gun violence, ban rap! All these shootings are at rap concerts. They did arrest a guy in California and of course he had a stolen gun and was a felon not allowed to have a gun and has multiple convictions going back to 2014. He’s 26 years old so that means in 2014 he was 18 when he was first arrested. Of course, he was let out time and time again on probation. The parents of the victims should sue the California Justice System. Here’s the kicker, this guy so far hasn’t been charged with any of the deaths. It appears to be gang related of course. So again, with no rap, this wouldn’t have happened! Sorry to dwell here but there is a pattern. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I haven’t seen any shootings at any country or rock concerts, enough said.

Time to get moving, make it a great day, God Bless.

Back at it

After delay after delay, Lori finally made it to Eagle about 4:30. This was about 3 hours later than scheduled. The important thing is she made it home safe. Today she’s back at the office and I’m off to Grand Junction to work on the farm deal. Melissa from one of our favorite local restaurants is going with me as I’m trying to pull her in as she knows what to do. We should be back around 1.

Ty has school as usual. We had some snow yesterday am, but it quickly melted and was gone by noon. It was a wet heavy slushy snow. We’ll take all the water we can get. I think tomorrow I’m off to Denver, but we’ll see how the day goes. Time for coffee, make it a great week, God Bless.

Coming home!

Lori lands in Eagle around 2:30 this afternoon! Can’t wait for her to get home! That means Ty and I have some house cleaning to do today. He was out until around 1 am with friends for Senior Sunset Night. Looks like it went way past sunset.

Looks like we’re going to Arizona for Easter. We can go to Hawaii as James said we could use his house but since Jag can’t go, I think we’ll postpone Hawaii until June when both boys are out of school.

We have kind of a rain, snow, sleet mix going on outside right now. Hope it doesn’t amount to much. Next weekend it’s going to be in the 70’s!

Denver was good. I hit a couple stores and then had my haircut. Ended up getting home around 2:30 and then went to James to hang as I needed to drop Ty in Edwards. We hung out until about 6:30 and then I headed home to watch basketball.

Lori skinned her knee last night when she tripped on the sidewalk in the backyard when she was picking lemons from the lemon tree to bring home. She has a nice little raspberry.

Anyone see Saturday Night Live last night? How quickly one can go from being on top to rock bottom these days. Just ask Will Smith. While he was way out of line, and really needs some help, just remember, who are we to condemn? Guess I’ll get going. As I said, lots of work to do around here. Have a great Sunday! God Bless.

Coming fast

Spring will be in full swing soon. The days are longer, and the nights are warmer. Should be maybe 70 today. I’m off to Denver for some errands and a haircut while Ty will be working on his room and the house. I tried to get him to go but he’d rather stay home so I’m leaving him a list of things to do.

James flew in from California yesterday after being gone for 2 weeks and texted to see if I wanted to come over. He’s building a forge out at his ranch, in California and he has a bunch of metal shop stuff out there now. He made us a really cool steel address thingy out of metal. It’s a box you can hang on the house that has our street number cut out and then is welded in a box. It lights up the inside of the box using solar power and you can switch it from a green light to a while light. I’ll take a picture but it’s sort of like a shadow box that backlights our street numbers so you can see our house number from the street. It’s really cool.

Lori is working away while Kathy is packing things at the house of her mom’s, Don’s first wife. Lori had dinner with her high school friend Michelle last night who recently lost her husband. She’s coming home tomorrow. Can’t wait.

Robi pulled the ultimate April Fool’s joke on me yesterday and enlisted Tommy for help. I won’t go into it all, but I will say, payback’s a bitch. Someday, sometime, something just might be in store for her, ha.

I worked out yesterday for the first time since last week. I’m pretty much all back from my episode of bad chicken. Not sure I can ever eat chicken again. The thought of it just makes me sick right now. Guess I’ll get going so I can get down and up in as short of time as possible. Make it a great weekend and God Bless.

April 1, 2022

April Fool’s Day! Used to be a big deal when we were kids. We’d always come up with some silly little prank or what we thought was a witty joke to tell Mom and Dad. They’d laugh no matter how silly or downright stupid it was. Sure miss those days.

Lori and the boys are doing well. I was worried about Lori as she has a chest cold but it doesn’t seem to be getting any worse. James is flying home from San Francisco today and he was going to divert the jet to Sacramento to pick up Lori and bring her home today but she says she’s fine and needs to stay a couple more days to continue getting things cleaned up in the house.

I think I’m all better. Yesterday I was about 90% back. Serena says she’s back among the living. I don’t know if I can ever eat chicken again, ugh. The thought of it just grosses me out.

I’m going to close today with some alternative views on Ukraine and the war. I’m no fan of Putin but if you read below, it’ll help you understand what’s really going on. Biden and his crew are a mess. Their new narrative is “Putin Price Hike”. They’re blaming any and everything on him. Yes the war isn’t helping the supply chain and will contribute to the coming food shortages, especially with wheat. But all things up to now, high gas prices, inflation in general are all on Biden. The govt. hasn’t even reported March economic numbers and yet that’s right about when the war started. Most people believe what they see and read on the news but read on below for some thoughts you won’t see on the pro-Biden news. Good God.

Winston Churchill famously said, â€œIn wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.”

We accept that idea broadly. Secret invasion plans should be closely held. The identities of spies must be kept under wraps. New weapons and defensive tools should not be revealed because enemies will be alerted to their potential and begin offensive workarounds.

Still, just because the government has legitimate reasons to deceive the public in wartime does not mean that citizens don’t have a duty to find the truth to the extent they can.

The Russian-Ukraine kinetic war and the broader U.S.-Russian economic war are full of more lies than any public events I’ve seen in my lifetime including Vietnam, Watergate and the Iraq War.

That’s how big the lies are.

The Bodyguard of Lies

Here’s the official U.S. narrative as echoed by the mainstream media: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked, Putin’s three-day blitzkrieg of Kyiv has failed, Russian forces are bogged down and valiant Ukrainian troops are putting up a powerful defense and regaining lost ground with the help of weapons from NATO.

In this version, President Zelenskyy is the new Churchill rallying patriots against an evil dictator. All of that is either entirely or mostly false.

Here’s the real story: Russia’s invasion is the end result of 14 years of provocation by the West, including repeated declarations that Ukraine will join NATO and a U.S.-backed coup d’état in 2014 that displaced a pro-Russian president.

Russia never planned a blitzkrieg on Kyiv. That’s a Western invention intended to make Putin look like a failure. In fact, Russia is slowly and methodically taking territory in the south and east of Ukraine in order to control the seacoasts, eliminate pro-fascist elements in Mariupol and establish pro-Russian autonomous zones in Donbas.

Churchill? Really?

A full assault on Kyiv, if it ever comes, is last on the list. Ukraine may reoccupy a village here and there, but they’re losing ground in Kherson, Mykolaiv, Melitopol, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk and surrounding areas.

Moreover, Zelenskyy is no Churchill.

He’s succeeded in presenting himself as a strong wartime leader, standing up to the big, bad Putin. But in reality, he’s a corrupt oligarch with millions of dollars hidden offshore. His acting skills have enhanced his propaganda efforts, but it doesn’t take much training to see how phony he is.

Innocent civilians, including women and children, are dying under his failed leadership and inability to come to terms with Putin before the invasion began. In a nutshell, Zelenskyy bet on support from Biden and the West and lost.

There is ample evidence from numerous sources to support this analysis. Some of the best sources come from Switzerland, where military experts are infuriated that traditional Swiss neutrality has been cast aside.

Most tellingly, Pentagon leaks say the same thing. The story from inside the Pentagon is that Putin is not acting recklessly but is being patient and methodical. It also says that, despite some civilian casualties, Putin is actually using a restrained approach. Furthermore, there are no signs he is preparing for the use of chemical or biological weapons.

So what about the economic sanctions? Are they working?

The Most Severe Sanctions in History

Payments in and out of Russia have been blocked. The Central Bank of Russia has been banned from the global dollar payments systems. The same is true for the 10 largest Russian banks and a long list of oligarchs and Russian government officials.

Accounts of Russian targets in Western banks have been frozen. Exports of critical technology and high-tech equipment to Russia have been banned. U.S. and European airspace has been closed to Russian airlines.

Secondary sanctions have been imposed so that if another nation like China sells goods to Russia made with U.S. technology or machines, that nation will be punished also. The list goes on.

Economic sanctions of these kinds sound powerful when they’re announced and do have some impact. But in the long run they never work. In the end, the costs are real but the effects of the sanctions are nil. It’s a lose-lose proposition.

Sanctions Against Oligarchs Are Doing Putin a Favor

Some losses are incurred by those whose accounts are frozen or whose businesses are handicapped. A few Russian oligarchs may lose their yachts, but guess what? Putin doesn’t like the oligarchs anyway.

We’re actually doing Putin a favor by clipping the oligarchs’ wings. Putin’s power comes from the military and security services, not the oligarchs.

Tellingly, the strategic goals that justified the sanctions are never achieved. At most, they are slowed down temporarily. It’s just a matter of time before the affected parties devise workarounds to the sanctions.

The bottom line is Russia has not stood still. Russian exports of critical strategic metals such as nickel, titanium, palladium and aluminum have been cut off. Russian (and Ukrainian) wheat and other grains have also been cut off.

This will result in starvation in certain parts of the world and massive food price inflation everywhere. Given the extent of these sanctions and the retaliation, the damage to world trade, supply chains and even the availability of goods will be massive.

But what about the strategic aims of the sanctions?

Sanctions Won’t Stop the Ukrainian War

Here, the sanctions are a complete failure. They have had zero impact on Russian advances on the battlefield and Russian goals in Ukraine. In fact, Putin has proved to be a master chess player as he runs rings around the sanctions.

When the U.S. imposed sanctions on Russian banks, the value of the ruble collapsed. Still, oil and natural gas exports from Russia were allowed because Europe is dependent on them and the world is facing an energy shortage independent of the war in Ukraine.

Oil and natural gas are paid for in dollars. In a masterpiece of judo, Putin is now demanding that Russian oil and natural gas bought by states imposing sanctions be paid for in rubles. This mystified many. If Russia needs dollars (they do), why be paid in rubles?

The answer is that the only way for Europe to get rubles quickly is to buy them from the Central Bank of Russia using dollars. Under Putin’s plan, Russia still gets the dollars, still sells oil and natural gas but he has the added benefit of making rubles stronger because Europe has to buy them to pay for the energy exports.

Cutting off Russian exports of oil and natural gas is pointless because Russia will just sell the same energy to China and India. But the price will go up. It’s a world market, after all.

Putin’s Many Moves Ahead of Biden

This is how judo works. You use your enemy’s power against him by avoiding the main attack and turning the tables. Putin’s a judo expert in real life and he just demonstrated that he can practice it in economic warfare. The West will now be engaged in propping up the ruble after they did so much to destroy it.

Putin thinks many moves ahead on the chessboard while Biden is playing pin the tail on the donkey, blindfolded.

Sanctions ultimately harm everyday citizens and consumers most. Inflation is surging in Russia and the United States because of the sanctions. But the pain on the American people has only begun. It’s about to get much worse.

U.S. consumers and investors will suffer as prices soar, growth lags and stocks collapse.

This is all unpleasant news for Western warmongers. But it’s critical for investors to know what’s actually going on so they don’t lose money in the chaos to come.

The best information is that the war in Ukraine will last longer than most expect, will produce supply chain disruptions and will amplify the inflation that’s already present.

In the end, Putin will prevail in Ukraine, while the Ukrainian people and Western consumers will pay the heaviest price.

And no, this is no April Fool’s joke. Really the joke is being played on us by Biden and his cronies. The truth always comes out though and it’s beginning to show up with even the liberal media now saying Hunter’s laptop was not Russian disinformation. They can now admit this as their lies served their purpose and crushed Trump. Hunter is going down along with Joe’s brother, sooner or later. And I’d bet Joe is entangled one way or another. You see liars always get caught as they can never keep the story straight. It’s easy to keep the truth straight as it actually happened so you don’t have to remember it. It’s ingrained in your brain. But lies and liars always get caught, sooner or later. No difference here, mark my words. Enjoy the day and weekend, God Bless.
