Music at 2:30

Somehow Jag’s phone which is hooked up to our Sonos system in the living room, started playing music at 2:30am! We had to get up and go up and get him to turn it off. On top of that, my ear was ringing all night. Man do I have buyers remorse from getting the shot.

Lori is in Vail today and I’m home. Ty is studying for his math final Thursday and then has three more Monday. It was a little cloudy yesterday afternoon with a bit of rain but nice this morning. No more masks up here after today.

Our builder is coming at 9 for a walk through to fix things that need to be wrapped up. Time to get moving, GB.

Fun

Yesterday afternoon at 4 our friends showed up. Lori worked her butt off making a fantastic meal that included grilled steaks, rib eyes and filets, French scalloped potato’s, baked beans, complete with ham hock, potato salad, green salad, cornbread, honey butter, lemon meringue pie and then our huckleberry pie we brought home from hunting. It was so good. We all hung out until about 7:30 when we wrapped up. Poor Katie was subjected to Marty who when he met her said to her “so just what are your intentions”? Marty has that direct, say what nobody else will say, sense of humor. Katie also didn’t know who James or Metallica was. She’d heard of them but at 19 years old wasn’t really too sure, ha. Anyhow we all had fun.

Taxes due today! I thought we didn’t owe then our accountant emailed yesterday saying we did, then I emailed him saying WTF, and then he emailed back saying he messed up as he forgot we paid on April 15th so we don’t owe anything today, whew. Sunny and nice up here, yesterday and this morning. Ty has school today, Thursday and next Monday and then is done. He was on for 90 minutes with Zoe his tutor yesterday afternoon.

Most of the State is dropping covid restrictions this week. Six counties today and Eagle County (ours) Wednesday. Time to throw your mask away. Better late than never right? Hard to believe how much a President and his crew can screw up the Country in only 4 months!

That’s it, here we go to the back half of May, God Bless.

Sunny Sunday

Planted lots of plants yesterday. Also made it to the gym and Costco. Ty ran the clock and two kids from Aspen broke bones, one a collarbone and the other an arm. Jag and Katie went to breakfast and then the park. Today at 4 we’re having a bbq, and Biden praises and then bashes the police on national Peace Officers Day, wow. Another first for a U.S. President, putting down law enforcement.

Ty wanted to go to Denver last night but he has a week and a day left of school and has studying to do. He was bummed but understood. Not much else happening which is good unless I dive into politics which is too much work and stress for today. It’s going to be a fast two weeks and then before you know it, June! That’s it, be well, GB.

Coffee!

Man is coffee good! After waking each morning we feed the dogs and then start the coffee. We use a European manual coffee maker where we put fresh coffee in the bottom and put it on the stove and let the water boil up through the grounds and percolate to the top. It’s simple but provides us a fresh cup every morning. Then we add some cinnamon and collagen/protein powder and top it off with a splash of Half and Half and we’re good to go. Lori usually has two cups while I start with one. To be fair I drink probably six cups a day while she has two, maybe three at the most. Aren’t you glad you now know this! Yum.

I was in Denver over at Park Meadows by 8:30am. Next up was the bank at 9am sharp, a drive by at the dry cleaner and then Edwards in Wheat Ridge for steaks before heading up the hill. I was home by 11:30. Ty was doing homework and Jag was heading to the gym. Lori was at the office which is rare on a Friday.

We have the sliding door open from our bedroom now at 6:15 which shows you how warm it is going to be today. Lori needs to plant some flowers that have been in trays for a good week or so. Now the good news, no more masks! About time. Thank God Biden is falling in the polls as that forced them to announce this which should have been announced months ago. Think about it, nothing changed except gas went way up, crime is rampant, unemployment is rising even though there are help wanted signs everywhere, the border is being overrun and their international handling of the Middle East has it one second away from a full blown war. They needed something good they could announce to distract us. The same morning they announced no more masks, they said we’d need to wear them for at least another month. Wow.

Back to the bubble, Katie, Jag’s girlfriend, came up last night. Ty is running the clock at the lacrosse game this afternoon since he can’t play and Lori and I are headed to the gym. Some brief good news from our accountant. Since sales were down last year due to the virus, we don’t owe any more taxes Monday and our June 15th payment went down about 40%! Bitter sweet but we’ll take it. Tomorrow we’re having a few friends over for a bbq. That’s it, time to get moving. Make it a great weekend and go to a store where they don’t require you to wear a mask! It’ll take a few days for them to get it together and sadly some still will require them but it’s a start. Do your part to exercise your freedom. God Bless.

One more trip

Off to Big D this morning to drop a shotgun, stop at the bank and then Edwards Meat Market. Should be home by 11:30 at the latest.

Ty ran the clock last night at the lacrosse games. We won varsity in overtime. He’s working the games again on Saturday. Great for him to still be part of the team. Lori and Jag went to Glenwood to get her hair done and then had lunch at El Korita, our favorite Mexican restaurant in Basalt. I went to James house and hung out. We’re having a bbq here Sunday. He got his first shot and wasn’t feeling too well.

Time to go, no time to waste. Mojo had me up at 2am so I might need two coffee’s this morning. God Bless.

On crutches

Yesterday the radiologist in Denver read Ty’s MRI and he is now on crutches with instructions to put zero weight on his left ankle for at least three weeks. Poor guy, he’s super bummed. I can’t even pronounce the name of his injury or fracture. He needs to follow through though so he can get better. Meanwhile Jag made it to Tommy’s around 4 and then pulled some weeds before eating dinner. He headed home around 9:30 and pulled in around 11:30. We told him since it was so late to stay at Katie’s but that must not have been an option as he headed home. Ty’s happy as he kept asking if he was coming home. They have a pretty close relationship.

Today Lori is off to Glenwood in the afternoon to get her hair colored. Jag might go with her and Ty will go to the lacrosse game and be with his team. I’m headed to James house around 5 and bringing the infamous huckleberry pie we brought back from Idaho last September. Lori says it’ll probably be terrible since it’s been in the freezer so long. It’s sort of our running joke as we’ve had it so long and been waiting for Marty, James and I to find a time to eat it together. James and I keep threatening to eat it without Marty. James leaves on the 19th to finish the bands new album so we decided this is our window.

Super sunny up here. Going to be nice today and tomorrow. Mojo is flat out crazy. He must have dementia as he wants out and then instantly wants in, then back out, then back in. Can’t make up his mind and can’t believe he can even still get up and down with his legs.

Lots going on at work. Have some fun thigs in the works. More later on that. Time to get Ty up as we’re leaving in 30 minutes. Make it a great day, God Bless.

One more drive

5am and headed out in an hour. Off to the distributor to pick up some samples then I’m off and with luck will be home by 11ish. Ty is home today and Lori is in Vail. She has bone spurs in her hand and will probably need surgery right away. Could be in a matter of days the way it’s hurting. Ty had an MRI yesterday and we hope to find out today what the next course of action for him is. Maybe they (Lori and Ty) will have dueling surgeries!

Crime appears to be way up in the city. Lots more stuff on the news including felons released who committed another crime, surprise surprise. Not saying people can’t change but when you release people indiscriminately by the thousands, the odds are the majority will reoffend.

Every night when we see the news we’re astonished as to what the Country has become. You only have one person to blame and that’s the guy in charge. We all know who that is. Don’t get me wrong, he actually doesn’t know what he’s doing, but still as they say, the buck stops there!

I have to go, no time to waste, hang in there and God Bless.

Missed it

No snow up here but I did drive through it yesterday. Jag went down yesterday afternoon and is coming back up today after doing some yard work for Tommy today, weather permitting. Ty stayed home with a fever and Lori has work today. I have some calls as usual.

Colorado yesterday approved composting dead bodies! Anyone seen the movie Soylent Green? Soon they’ll be making us into food! Wow.

Looks like the majority of parents are against vaccinating their kids. People are waking up. Our ears are still ringing. Not sure if it’ll ever go away, nice. As I said before, no more shots for us, boosters or anything. We’re also looking into how to get exemptions for the boys. The news says only 29% of parents will get their kids vaccinated. Only 300 kids have died in the Country. That’s a big 0.0000857143%. Think we’ll take our chances. You could win the lottery easier!

Sun and warm temps are coming. We put our hanging baskets in the garage last night but will probably put them out this morning. Time to get moving. Be well, safe and God Bless.

Back at it

Yesterday we didn’t do much in the morning but in the afternoon we loaded up and headed out to Aspen. We decided to take a road trip to pick up Lori’s purse that came back from repair. While there we had a bite to eat and stopped and found Lori a pair of jeans at Ralph Lauren. When we made it home Jag and Ty went to pick up some food for their dinner. Lori and I ate some leftovers.

5:38 am now and I am taking the truck to get serviced in Denver. I think Jag is going down too to do some yard work for Tommy. I thought the weather was going to turn but so far it’s ok up here. Lori will take Ty to school around 8.

Tomorrow Ty is probably going to need an MRI on his ankle. Lori thinks he’s going to need surgery. Hope not but she’s usually right. That’s it as I need to get moving so I’m on the road by 6;30. Almost the middle of May, wow, time flies. God Bless.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to Lori, Annette, Dixie, Robi and my mom! Make it a great day, you deserve it! It’s sunny and nice up here for one more day. No big plans today for us, just stuff around the house.

I guess Prom was fun. We’ll know more when Ty and Sonny, who spent the night, wake up. The boys strolled in around 1am. As long as they made it home safe, we’re fine. I told Ty not to be the one that has some sort of trouble last night as someone always does. Jag will be driving up this morning. Tonight we need to bring in the plants as tomorrow and Tuesday we have another cold snap. I’m taking the suburban down tomorrow for an oil change.

The dogs are fine. They wake up too early and stay up too late. Here’s Ty heading out to Prom. He’s a tall good looking kid. You might remember the suit that the designer who Jag modeled for made. Fits Ty perfectly.

That’s it, time to get moving. Make it a great day, especially all you mother’s! God Bless.
