Prom

Tonight is Ty’s Prom. I don’t think he’s taking a girl but is going with his buddies instead. Last night he went to the lacrosse games to be with his team and then spent the night at Preston’s. We’ll get him this morning. Lori and I went down to our neighbors Brian and Michelle’s house for dinner. Our other neighbors on the south side of us, KC and Shannon, came over too along with another neighbor and her son. It was fun and a good meal. Meanwhile Jag went to Denver as Katy’s birthday is today. He’ll drive up early tomorrow morning.

Strange times we live in. I read yesterday some democrats in Congress want to ban the term Mother’s Day. Shit like this used to make me laugh but it’s now just flat out stupid. Thankfully people are finally beginning to see through this woke, cancel culture crap that some people who want to divide us keep pushing. One theory is our adversaries including Russia and China are promoting illegal immigration with financial and psychological support and even directly funding organizations like BLM and Antifa. Wouldn’t surprise me at all. What better way to go after your enemy than to destroy them from within. They’re both sitting back just letting time go by watching us destroy ourselves on our own. And we as people are just stupid enough to do it. Think about it, do you see or read about cancel culture or BLM in other countries? I don’t think so. Prepare while you can as it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Thank God we made the move out of the city, enough said.

On top of all this we now have to worry about inflation. Lori eats a lot of chicken and not sure if you noticed but chicken breasts have doubled in price since Joe took office mid-January. I could site numerous other examples of things that have gone way up in price (everything has) but I’m sure you can think of some on your own. So as I said, strange times we’re living in. Take some time and think about where you are individually and what you need to do to survive. We are literally at war against multiple unknown forces, a misleading manipulative media, an overreaching government, rising unemployment, a flood of illegal immigration, felons being released by the thousands from prisons nationwide, runaway inflation, social unrest, and a divided country. Not as easy as fighting a single enemy as we’re facing issues on lots of different fronts. I have faith though that the silent majority, meaning most of us in the Country, will soon realize what’s going on and say enough is enough. Most every where we go from dinner last night to the parent lacrosse meeting, people are fed up and don’t agree with the direction of the Country. A year from November is the first chance to vote out these loser politicians who don’t care about you or our Country. They only care about themselves and maintaining control. Time for them to go.

Have a great day and hang in there, God Bless.

Friday

Yesterday was busy. Lots of work and running here and there. Ty is back in a boot for his ankle for at least a week meaning no lacrosse game for him tonight. I went over to James’s new place he just bought. It’s up in Lake Creek and is 5 acres including property on both sides of the creek. The house is a 1980’s type place that needs a lot of work but he bought it for the land and water. Besides he has the money to fix up the house. Then Anne and Bart came over for dinner. They stayed until a bit after 9 and we had a really nice time. The boys joined us for dinner.

Jag unpacked his car and Lori is still doing laundry. He’s off to Denver for Katie’s birthday and will be back Sunday morning. Ty will go to the game tonight to hang with his team. Super sunny and warm today, nice. I have a work call at noon and then am knocking off for the weekend.

Guess they banned dancing at weddings in the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), give me a break! I and everyone I know are so over this overreaching government imposed control of our lives. Screw them. In fact, we’re through with masks, we’ve had the shot. I’ve gone into some stores mask less and get a few looks with no mask but that’s all. The other night at lacrosse, which is outside, we didn’t wear a mask in the stands and soon some other people followed and then before you knew it, everyone took off their masks. Time to take our lives back. The govt. doesn’t own you, they’re not your parents and you don’t have to listen to them, think for yourself! Man, time to move on.

Guess I’ll get moving. Oh, big big news! We traded for some new sheets the other day and they’re made from apsen and birch trees in Germany and I had my doubts as they were over $500 a sheet if you bought them but I can’t put into words what sleeping on them is like. They’re so soft and literally change your entire sleep experience. I mean you spend a third of your life in bed so if you think about it, if you can make your sleep time better, $1200 for a set of sheets is nothing, even if you have to buy them. If anyone wants to know where to get them, let me know. We really can’t explain the difference or believe just how a different set of sheets can make such a remarkable difference in the quality of your sleep. Oh well, just thought I’d share, ha.

Make it a great weekend, God Bless people.

Jagger’s home!

About 10:30 last night, Jag pulled in from college. It took some doing but he crammed everything in his car. We brought a couple bags in but left most all of his stuff in his car.

Ty and I had a good trip to Denver. We went to see Libby and then to the mall before the grocery store and heading up the hill. We stopped in Denver West to get Ty some Tokyo Joe’s to go and were hit hard with big time rain that almost turned to hail. By Red Rocks, it was dry.

Throw in a Nuggets win over the New York Knicks, (who Ty and I ran into in Neiman Marcus) and it was a good day. Today Lori and I are off to the gym and then I’m not sure what we’re doing. I have some work and then need to get some food as the Barnett’s are coming over for dinner at 6. Ty’s ankle is swollen and he insists he’s playing in the lacrosse game tomorrow but it doesn’t look good. We’ll know more today. It’s the same ankle he hurt snowboarding so it’s obviously aggravated. We’re hoping he just needs to lay off for a week.

That’s it, time to get moving, be well and God Bless.

Cinco de Mayo

Up at 5:15 to wake Ty for practice but when he came home last night his ankle was swollen so he’s taking the day off. He emailed the coach last night but didn’t tell us, ugh. He and I will leave around 8:30 this morning for Denver. We should be done with our errands by 1 or so and be coming up this afternoon. Jag is all done with school too as he took his last two finals yesterday. Looks like all A’s for him. Lori is working in Frisco today so the dogs will be outside most all of the day.

Lori had a good birthday. I bought her a couple fun things and we had her favorite cake and had a fun Lori Day. She’s such a good girl who is loved by so many people.

She also looks great but women do seem to have a more difficult time with aging than men, ha. This picture is really funny on my phone as it turned out to be a motion picture where she was laughing. Wish I knew how to post that! She’s such a cutie and good girl who is always looking out for everyone.

The other day I wrote the Dixie was the only grandma left. What a huge mistake as of course there’s Grandma Annette too! Problem is I think of Annette closer to my age. Ugh, sorry! In any case the boys know they have two grandma’s which is what counts.

I talked with Robin as we were suppose to go to Arizona today but postponed that trip too. I think we’re going to try for Playa del Carmen in Mexico soon. Lori did get a new suitcase for her birthday as she was always taking mine which is one of my prized possessions. I finally found one like mine as they’re sold out and unobtainable due to the pandemic. It was also in black which I prefer and I was hoping she let me have and then take my silver one but nooooo, she loves the black one, of course. They’re the best suitcases you can get, Rimowa, which is solid light weight aluminum. We have two carry on’s and one larger one and when you travel a bunch, good suitcases are essential.

Ok, time to get moving. First stop is the dermatologist. Take care and God Bless.

Happy Birthday To Lori

Whoo hoo, Happy Birthday Lori! Hard to believe it’s May 4th. Today Lori is home as Dr. Braxton told her to take the day off. It’s going to be sunny and nice after a day full of rain. First up is the gym, then some presents and probably more flowers to plant outside.

Yesterday I did go to Denver. It was nowhere near as bad as they said it’d be, surprise right? Ty had lacrosse until 7 in the rain and has practice today at 3:30. Tomorrow he has practice at 6:30 am and then he and I head to Denver for a derm appointment for him.

Time to get moving so I can make coffee and feed the dogs. Make it a great day and God Bless.

Not today

Was headed to Denver today but looks like I’ll wait until tomorrow. There isn’t the “foot plus” of snow as forecasted but it looks wet, slushy and miserable on the east side of the tunnel so I’ll just wait until tomorrow.

Anyone notice how there are non stop vaccine commercials on tv? They’re pushing it hard. A little too hard I think. If you want it, get it, if you don’t, don’t. Just like the flu shot. If you’ve had it, you’re protected so you shouldn’t have to worry about people who don’t want it. For us, we had it but don’t expect us to get it again every year, over and over. We’re done. Also are not too happy colleges are mandating students to get it either. Hopefully that’ll change by Fall.

Tomorrow is Lori’s birthday! She’ll be 57. She’s taking the day off. We need to get her a cake. I cut Harley’s nails last night and of course cut one too short. Took a bit to stop it from bleeding. Finally Super Glue did the trick. Ty has school today and practice at 5:30. He had an assist in the lacrosse scrimmage on Saturday and loves it. We’re so glad he’s on the team.

Time to get moving. Lot’s going on as usual. Happy May! God Bless.

Big Week

This coming week Jag wraps up his freshman year, Ty has his first lacrosse game and a new month gets underway. Sunny and nice up here. Ty spent the night camping in Amanda’s backyard last night with a bunch of kids for her birthday. Jag did well on his stats final and has another one today and then one Tuesday and one Wednesday. I think the painters are coming this week to fix all the areas that settled over the past nine months. That’s typical with a new house. You wait through a winter to let things settle as lumber shrinks and expands.

We went to the parent meeting last night for lacrosse which was fun. Our friends Bart and Anne introduced us to all kinds of new people and then we watched a bit of the scrimmage before coming home. We’ll head to the gym this morning and probably get Ty on the way home.

I think Jon Newmark is driving his motor home down this summer from Washington State. He and his wife go everywhere as he’s been retired for years. I think Harry is coming out too. First up though we hope Dixie is coming out for the summer. Lori found a great one bedroom three minutes away at the new retirement home here in Eagle. The boys are excited to have her come out as they miss her and she’s their only grandma left.

Time to get moving, hope all’s well, God Bless.

Sunny

It’s so nice up here it’s like we’re on vacation. Sun, blue sky and green growth coming up everywhere. Turned the sprinklers on yesterday too. Should be in the 80’s today which is hot.

Ty has a lacrosse scrimmage tonight at 6 after the parent meeting. Jag has finals today and tomorrow and comes home Wednesday. The NFL draft so far has been great and we have six more picks today. Lori and I are headed to the gym first.

Lori has some flowers she’ll plan today. I’m going to try to clean out the garage a bit. I’ll stop here for the day as I slept in and we need to get to the gym with the draft starting at 10. Have a great weekend, God Bless.

Denver and Boulder

This morning we’re both off to the city. I’m headed to Boulder and then Denver and Lori is headed to Golden. We need to take two cars as we’re headed to different places at different times. I’m getting some of Jag’s stuff from his dorm and Lori has a doctor appointment at 9:30.

Ty had lacrosse until 8:30 at night! It’s pretty much dark when it’s over. Lori’s birthday is Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo is Wednesday. I’m on a 30 day program to really get in shape. Lindsey, our cousin Rob’s wife, who is a super in shape body builder, has me on this program where I use an app and log everything, and I mean everything, I eat. Also certain splits of protein, carbs and fat are required. It’s really interesting. If you met Lindsey, you’d know she knows what she’s talking about. We’ll see how it goes.

Super nice up here yesterday and today and tomorrow are going to be even better. Round 2 and 3 of the draft starts at 5. Tommy wasn’t thrilled with our pick but it’s a good solid pick. We took one of the top corner backs which you can never have enough of. There’s a rumor we could trade for Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay as he wants out and his fiancé is from Boulder where he’s been hanging out. Wouldn’t that be great!

Time to get moving. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

The Draft

Today’s the day, the NFL Draft. Starts at 6 pm MST, whoo hoo. Yesterday we traded for a QB to add some drama to tonight’s festivities. Lori will get Ty from lacrosse at 7 so I don’t miss anything.

First up is the gym and then I have a call at 10. Lori is home today and Ty has school. Jag is starting finals and wraps up early next week. CU yesterday announced that all students must get vaccinated for next year. We’re weighing our options as we don’t think kids necessarily need them. More on this later but it’s unbelievable that a college can mandate an unproven vaccine for students. I’m sure they’ll be some law suits coming on this one.

Sunny and warm outside. Going to be nice the next few days. Hopefully we’re all done with snow for the year but you never know. 80 degrees up here Saturday.

That’s it, no need to ruin draft day with any mention of our idiot President. How did this guy ever get elected, good God, God Bless.
