A Year of Change

When you have a day like yesterday, it’s hard to believe there’s so much crap going on in the World. It was 60 degrees and beautiful. After morning coffee Lori and I went to the gym before picking up Ty at Sonny’s. By the time we made it home it was 11 am. After a quick shower I went to wash the Mercedes. Next up was dropping Ty at the skate park after he helped clean up around here. Then Lori and I spent a leisurely afternoon hanging out at home. She even laid outside to get some sun! To top it all off, the Nuggets won big!

This morning I have a few errands and a conference call. Lori is working from home today and Ty has school and then is working out from 3 to 4. Jag is well and tomorrow we have one cooler day before it really warms up for the rest of the week.

Shopping these days for basic essentials sure is a shocker. Hard to believe how everything has gone up so much. Gas is $1 a gallon more today than it was a year ago, thanks Joe. Finally Saturday Night Live went after Joe, about time. Guess they figured out even they can’t blame Trump anymore. 13 and 15 year old girls, attacked and killed a 66 year old Uber driver in Washington D.C. and CNN called it an accident, wow. The mayor of D.C. blamed car jacking victims for making their cars easy targets when the only way not to have a chance of getting car jacked in D.C. is to not drive. You can’t make this shit up and they say it with such a straight face. How people like Joe, Kamala and this D.C. Mayor get elected much less keep their jobs is beyond me. As I’ve said before, people who vote for these losers will wake up once things start affecting them. Here’s Mojo in doggie jail from the other day!

Last night at 6, Dr. Braxton (Ernie) and his wife Molly arrived for dinner. 4 hours later after a great meal and a lot of fun, they headed home. He’s a really great guy who is really smart. They’ve been married about 2 1/2 years and of course both love Lori and depend on her immensely. At one point Molly whispered something to Ernie and then he asked Lori if by chance they could come back from their Mexico vacation a day after scheduled as they’re going in a couple weeks. Lori said she’d check but it was funny as here was the surgeon sheepishly asking Lori for permission to stay on vacation an extra day. Lori really is in charge.

Ty stayed at Sonny’s and Mojo slept outside for most of the day hooked up to a long lead. He was tired from his little adventure. This morning I think we’ll go to the gym and then probably go get Ty. It was super nice up here yesterday in the mid 60’s with warmer weather today and tomorrow. Bring it on.

Every day Mojo wanders around outside enjoying the new house and property. He must go in and out 20 or 30 times a day. Yesterday afternoon I saw him with some kind of bone chewing away and Lori went and took it away from him. An hour later or so we looked outside and couldn’t find him. So we spent the next 3 hours or more searching everywhere for him. Lori drove up and down the entire neighborhood with Ty for hours and I walked everywhere with a flashlight as it was getting dark. The neighbors helped too driving their little truck around the bike path. In the end, around 10 pm, he was nowhere to be found. The problem is he just can’t hear anymore so he could be hanging out somewhere not knowing we were looking for and calling him. He also could have followed some elk or deer as he liked to do that a bit but would never go too far. It was warm last night so that’s good. We’re having coffee now and then heading out in the daylight to look for him.

Sometimes old animals and dogs just wander off and lay down. He has a hard time getting up sometimes so we might find him lying somewhere. We’ll see. No ones fault, just one of those things as like I said before, Mojo would go in and out every hour all day and night. We’ll keep everyone posted.

UPDATE, 8:17 AM, MOJO HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS IN DOGGIE JAIL AT THE ANIMAL SHELTER! NO MORE WANDERING FOR HIM!

I normally don’t lead off with politics but if anyone saw Joe Biden’s “press conference”, if you could even call it that, you have to be worried. The guy is just not all there. No other way to say it. His answers were at best jumbled words not even pertaining to the pre-arranged questions even though he had a stack full of answers on his podium. He even said multiple times “wait I have it here somewhere” as he shuffled through the stack of papers. At one point he said his plan is to run for re-election in four more years and then you heard a noticeable groan from behind the curtain from a woman, who many think was Kamala. Last he said people are now coming over the border by the tens of thousands because “he’s the nice guy”. Good God, wtf, we are in real trouble. And of course his fall back response to ANY issue is that it’s all Trump’s fault! He or should I say his handlers, must think we’re really stupid. On top of all that, inflation and prices on just about everything is going up daily and crime is up two and three fold in most major cities. Worse yet, supply on everyday items is quickly running out. Going to be a bumpy two years. It’s hard to believe sane people (democrats) are endorsing this crap. Once things affect the people who voted them in (dems) , they’ll vote them out. That’s the way it works, especially for democrats. It’s all good until it pertains to them. Enough said.

We had a nice anniversary. Thanks for all the well wishes. When we think back over the past 21 years, it’s pretty darn remarkable. We’ve had a great first almost half to our 50 year goal of marriage! 29 more years to go.

Tomorrow we’re having Dr. B and his wife Molly over for dinner. I’ve been told by Lori to leave politics, religion, and all other social issues of the day out of the conversation. Hope he likes football as not sure what else I can talk about, ha. They’re young and he like a lot of doctors, is a bit socially awkward but a brilliant surgeon. Lori says Molly is terrified of covid and they haven’t been to a restaurant in over a year so I’m under strict instructions to leave that alone too.

This morning we’re off to the gym and then tomorrow to Denver early before dinner. James is back from San Fran where they played a few concerts virtually in concert halls all over the Country and we’re hanging out this afternoon to catch up. Jag is fine, so is Ty. We had parent teacher conferences last night and he’s doing well. I guess Ty has 19 days of school left, wow.

Seems like a long long time ago. 21 years. Scottsdale Arizona. Mid-afternoon, Lori and I were married at La Posada Resort. It was the single best wedding I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a lot of them. We had a little over 80 people and most all were from out of town. We brought our own band, (guitar player and pa system), and sang and danced the night away. Weather was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better day.

We’ve done a lot, a whole lot, in 21 years. Thank God I have about half of it documented in the blog. The best part of the whole trip was every step of the way was with the greatest wife, mother, and friend anyone ever could ask for. I always say, I married up! That is 100% true. I told Lori last night let’s see if we can top it in the next 21 years so here we go.

I didn’t sleep at all last night, maybe 4 hours total. I took my last steroid around 6 or 7 and it kept me up all night. Lori is sleeping and I need to get Ty up as he needs to get to school early. Then I’m off for a quick turn to Denver while Lori works from home.

Can’t believe how many democrats blamed the “white male shooter” and all white males before even knowing the facts. Turns out the guy was not white at all but Arabic from Syria so the news media’s story had to change quickly. So many people had to delete tweets yesterday it almost broke Twitter. Facebook quickly scrubbed the guys account as he was anti-Trump and pro-Islam. The dems are all bummed out that the shooter didn’t fit their white supremist narrative. We also have the Pres attacking law abiding citizens constitutional rights by wanting to ban guns before the facts are even known. Turns out this guy had an assault conviction and should not have been allowed to legally purchase a gun, which he apparently did a week ago. To be clear, I’m fine with universal background checks, we have them in Colorado. So, we have a law which should have prevented this nut from buying a gun and it wasn’t enforced, so now their plan is to create new laws that will affect law abiding citizens like you and me because they didn’t enforce the ones we have. makes sense right? What a mess. In the end, 10 people needlessly lost their lives. Freedom is not free and this type of tragedy will go on until people change. Just like you don’t ban cars or alcohol because of drunk drivers, you don’t ban guns because of wacko people. Sadly there are over 6 Billion people in the World and this is going to happen and nothing anyone can do can stop it until people change.

I made it to Denver and back by about 4. Then I had to rush to Fed Ex. Today I have a management call at 10. Lori is working in Frisco today and Jag is doing well and so is Ty. Ty is working out at 3 and I’ll go with him but no lifting weights for me today. I need to take some time off and get over this crap. On and off snow for the next 3 or 4 days. March is our snowiest month. It’s nice up here with clear skies and nothing on the ground.

Should be in and out by noon if lucky. I went with Ty to workout yesterday and should have stayed home. I’m ok but could have used another few days of rest. They had an active shooter in Boulder yesterday. Some deranged guy with a rifle shot and killed 10 people. Don’t know all the details yet but groups are lining up on both sides not knowing all the facts. Wish everyone would wait until we know more. Can happen anywhere these days. I’m sure more to come.

Lori is in Edwards today and Ty is home. I need to get going and be on the road in 40 minutes. Jag is fine although the store was close to the chaos. No classes today down there. Sadly this is too common. I’m sure the dems will blame guns, already happening, instead of waiting for the investigation. Worse thing is it’ll be all over the news for days. Get ready for nonstop coverage for the next few days or as long as the news can milk it. God Bless those and the families that lost their lives and loved ones. Stay safe.

Ok, we have an inch on the grass but the patio and roads are dry in Eagle. Looks a bit worse in Denver but it’s nothing like a week ago. I’m having Lori’s car serviced tomorrow in Westminster tomorrow so hope it lets up as scheduled. Looks worse down south of Denver.

The kids all made it on the road back to Boulder between 9 and 10 or so. We picked up coffee and breakfast to send them all off. They all had a blast and I think Lori did too having them all here. I know Jag was super thankful.

Today Lori is in Vail and I’m working from home. Ty is off school today for some reason. They sure schedule a lot of days off these days. Looks like a week of on and off snow but nothing too bad, just enough to be annoying and send me to the car wash multiple times.

Once again, things are getting expensive so we’re stocking up on essentials. Just things like making sure we’re loaded up on things like coffee, toilet paper, dish soap, specific dry goods, etc. Nothing much more than what we normally do, just topping things off. My long awaited Leica camera gets here in the next few days from Germany via New York. I’ve been reading up on how to efficiently use a rangefinder camera as it’s kind of old school. Super nice of my friend Toby to arrange with his company to send me one. Should be fun.

My muscle aches are getting better every day. Hopefully by the end of the week I’ll be over this shit. It’s hard for me not going to the gym. I think I’ll go with Ty when he trains today at 3 and do the treadmill for an hour. That’s it, make it a great day, God Bless.

Well we started the day with 7 kids here and ended w up the evening with 11! No no one gave birth, ha. We did have 3 more friends of Jag’s come up from Boulder and Sonny came home with Ty so that makes 11 kids in total. I told Lori at least we had them all here. They set up Beer Pong in the garage and I think finally wound up around 2 am. Surprisingly they did a really good job cleaning up. I told Lori “can you imagine having 12 kids”? I was thinking of the movie Cheaper By The Dozen with Steve Martin.

Some snow is coming and we had an inch last night but only on the grass. More is coming tonight they say. We’ll feed the brood breakfast whenever they wake up. For Ty it was like getting to go to two college parties in a row! All good kids though from what we can tell.

Blue sky now. Harley did really well with all the people here. My muscle aches are getting better. Thought it was a strained rhomboid muscle but Rod our uber trainer friend that owns the gym said he thinks it’s some Interspinales muscles, don’t ask. We ran into him yesterday. In any case even typing on the computer can aggravate my right forearm so it’s taking a bit to write this post.

Dixie might come out for a month and we’ll get her an apartment at the great senior living place right down the street. We drive by it every day as we have to to get in and out of the neighborhood. Imagine how your life has been turned upside down in the past year. Now imagine being a 89 year old senior citizen living in California that doesn’t drive. It’s tough and I’m sure she’s lonely. Besides she should be close to the kids and Lori. We’ll see when we can get her out here.

Think I’ll run to the grocery store for paper plates and some more OJ for the kids. Lori is doing a bunch of Jag’s laundry in both machines just like in the movies. Jag and his five friends showed up around 7 last night. All good kids. They must have stayed up partying well after midnight but it’s all good. They included Ty which I’m sure he enjoyed. I think today they’re going for a hike to get all the tequila and wine out of their bodies, ha.

I made it to Denver and back by 3. I’m taking Lori’s car for service on Tuesday. Not sure what we’re doing today after the gym. My arm is still sore as I lifted way too heavy earlier in the week. Just when I think it’s getting better it flames up. Sleeping is the toughest thing to do.

First day of Spring today, whoo hoo! I think Denver is getting snow on Monday but we’re looking good again, God’s Country! Tom and I are all in on football as we’re in the free agency period. If you don’t understand that it’s ok but it’s fun for us.

Our Gov declared today Meatout Day, meaning we’re not suppose to not eat meat but rather plant based meat instead for the environment. To help out I bought some huge bone in steaks yesterday when passing through Boulder. Can’t wait.

Harley was really good with all the kids here last night. We had her muzzle on but she stayed in her bed watching them nervously. We also had her shock collar on just in case. No telling what kind of mess is out there this morning. Time to go check it out, GB.
