Good Game

Finally K.C. came down to earth. Lori and I really don’t like either team that much as each have guys we don’t care for but in the end we liked Tampa Bay better than Kansas City. So it was a good game! Our neighbors came up for the first half. Lori and I were talking earlier about how they should start the game earlier. 4:30 MST is too late as the game wasn’t over until after 8 pm. Oh well, not like we had much else to do.

I made it to Steamboat by 10 and was home by 11:20. It was a nice pretty drive and the roads were dry. Coming home the wind had blown snow across the roads in areas but nothing bad.

I have a call with our Rose estate from France this morning. The whole team is on and we’re all uncorking the new vintage of Rose with them as it will be arriving in the U.S. soon. Ty has school, Jag is working out and Lori will be working also. I need to try to get in to see this guy at Jointwerks today so they can move my head and neck around to help get the crystals back in line. I’m a lot better than two weeks ago but I still need to be careful about tilting my head backwards like you do if you look up to the sky or put eye drops in your eyes. Hopefully they can fix me up today. It feels like I’ve had a sinus infection for months and this had been building up. Always something.

I need to take Ty to school and then be showered and dressed for my Zoom call so time to go. Whoops, Jag is going to workout so he can drop Ty at school, nice. Looks like it’s cold in Denver but warm up here. No new snow here and it’s almost 30 degrees now. Be well, safe and God Bless.

Off to Steamboat

This morning Ty and I are meeting a buddy from Encampment Wyoming which is up by the ranch in Steamboat to sell him a couple of our saddles we just don’t use these days. Up there, people use saddles every single day and ours have been sitting in the garage for a few years missing being on horseback. Time to get them working again. We should be in Steamboat by 11 and home by 1 at the latest.

We have our neighbors Brian and Michelle and their daughter Sam coming over for the Super Bowl. Sam’s best friends dad was one of the guys who died in an avalanche four days ago. Not a good year to ski out of bounds. Brian is a big time hunter and helps me out registering in different States to try to draw hard to get tags.

Jag worked out for 2 and 1/2 hours yesterday! He has this one workout where he does 1000 reps! We keep telling him don’t push it too much but Brent, his trainer gave him the workout written out on his phone. Ty was hanging out with Sonny until about 6:30. Lori made some great hoisin teriyaki chicken on the grill for the boys. We are all sucked in on a new Netflix series called The Crown. It’s pretty good and we’re almost through season one. Check it out.

We’re planning our trip to Arizona for some sun and fun and to go see Robi and Robert! We can’t wait! My neck is better this morning but I did workout too hard yesterday myself. I thought I was having a relapse but appear to be better today. I can’t stretch my neck backwards yet, but everything else is good. I also stopped taking steroids yesterday and am down 4 pounds today. I was freaking out being up 4 pounds! I drank a gallon of distilled water yesterday to flush out my system.

The sun is coming up and I need to shower and load up the saddles. Haven’t decided who to cheer for in the big game. Leaning towards Tampa since Kansas City won last year and most people are picking them. I usually opt for the underdog. Hope everyone is fine. Make it a great day, make some good food and God Bless.

Good morning

6 am and coffee’s brewing. We’re conditioned to get up this time of day regardless of the day. No new snow here but I guess there’s some around the State. Tomorrow I’m off to Steamboat to drop off some saddles to a cowboy from Wyoming, weather permitting.

Tomorrow afternoon is the big game. Don’t really care about it but I’m sure we’ll turn it on. Today I really want to clean up the mud room. I’ve been putting it off for days as I don’t really have a place to put a large rug we replaced. Should just give it away! Need to figure it out today.

Boys are well. Jag has started his real estate class and Ty is doing well looking for a job. Think we’ll go to the gym sometime this morning.

Ok, coffee’s done, have a great day and God Bless.

Lori Day

Despite the snow we dropped Ty at school and were in Denver at Libby’s office by 10:30. After a quick dermatologist appointment we headed over to Sol, Lori’s preferred lingerie shop in Cherry Creek. I had bought her some bras for Christmas that she needed to exchange. We were the only ones there (you have to make an appointment) and in and out in 15 minutes with two new bras. Then it was off to Garbarini where Lori found some new work clothes and some super cute bell bottom jeans all at 50% off of the already marked down sale price! What a score. Tina met us at the store and then we all went to lunch at a Mexican restaurant also called Sol. Her jeans and a few shirts looked like she was straight out of the movie Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. We joked Jagger is going to want them as he loves those kind of clothes. Next up on our way up the hill we stopped at the Verizon store where Lori finally got a new phone. This took a few minutes but in the end was a good thing as her old employer called the day before telling us they were still paying her bill, (whoo hoo), and we needed to go to the store to finalize the import back to our account. By this time it was 3;30 in Denver and we headed for Eagle. Two hours later we were home.

Jagger made another great dinner. I’m better and less dizzy every day. I hardly even notice it anymore. This morning Jag, Lori and I are headed to the gym at 7:30 while Ty has Zoe, his tutor, at 8. More snow coming. Another guy died in an avalanche yesterday after 3 died two days earlier. I don’t understand why these guys go skiing out of bounds. Right now Vail Pass is closed.

Ok, so Lori can get me the vaccine if I want. Hmm, not sure I’m ready. Apparently family members of hospital workers are eligible up here. Didn’t know that but like I said, I think I’ll wait a bit anyhow.

Harley was sick yesterday afternoon from eating elk poop in the backyard, yuck. We gave her a pill last night and she made it through the night without anymore problems. Hopefully she’s all over it now.

That is it! Hope everyone is well. I’ll try to post some pictures of Lori in her cute 70’s outfit tomorrow. Wish I had all my clothes from 50 years ago, right? God Bless.

Snow

Ok, we have snow, not as much as the pass of Copper but it’s still snow. That’s ok though as we need it. Water is the new gold, especially out west.

Jag made dinner last night. It was pork belly in some honey, soy, hoisin sauce with orange zest shavings on top laid over a bed of rice. I didn’t eat the rice but boy was it good. I had a good productive day. My partner suggested I keep taking steroids! Grrr. Lori is suppose to go to Denver today but that appears to be off. Ty does have school and I already shoveled and started the car but he isn’t even up yet. Need to get him moving in 5 minutes.

We’ll stick close to home today with the weather. The painters came and fixed a bunch of boo boos around the house. Harley had scratched the inside of our bedroom door bad with her claws trying to get out one day and it was messed up. It now looks like new. I gave our painters our old couch last summer so they go out of their way to help us out. They’re good guys.

Lots of elk hanging out around the house. Deer too. The dogs love them. Not sure they’d know what to do if we let them out. Mojo is still acting and thinking like a puppy even though his body is like an old man. He’s a lot like a lot of people I know, ha. Jag is still working out, sometimes more than once a day. He’s all in. I think Lori and I will hit the gym when we take Ty.

That’s it, no politics, no covid, no drama, just our day, GB.

Grrrrr

After my Denver trip I went to the doctor and ended up on steroids instead of antibiotics. That’s why the grrr, as they make you edgy. I’m actually fine but if seeing Lori on steroids is any indication of how you feel, the grrr is coming.

Ty has school today and the snow is coming soon so they say. Tomorrow is dry and then more on Friday. We’ll see. Looks like more people can get the vaccine. Just saw on the news that all Denver Public School employees can get it now. Also heard those 65 to 68 can get it. Wonder what’s up with the 68 to 70 year old people, ha. Was talking with Tommy and he and I are both watching and waiting for now.

Painters are showing up at 8am to fix some things. Slowly but surely we’re getting things done around here.

Just saw a blurb on the news about how divided we are politically and how when you throw in covid, things are not normal. Well I have one thing to say to that, Duuuuh! Guess the media and politicians are just figuring this out. Typical as both groups are usually detached from reality or at best, months behind what’s really happening. They asked for comments and the first one was someone saying they’re getting off all social media! That’s about the smartest thing I’ve heard ever. Our old neighbor in Lakewood, Steve Erickson, who I talked to yesterday told me the same thing. He said he quit it when all this crap started. Guess I need to join in. People on it though feel they’re going to miss out on something, me included. Some of it is entertainment and really funny but in the end, it’s more bad than good for society. So I’m giving it a try. Too bad as I was just getting my Rolling Stones posts going. Maybe I’ll start by just limiting myself to music, we’ll see. It’s sort of like giving up your cell phone. We all were fine without them but are now conditioned to have them attached to our ear or close by. Years ago I said technology would advance faster than our capability as people to deal with it. Wasn’t hard to predict that but it sure came true. Wish me luck.

Time to move, be well, be safe, stay healthy and think for yourself. As always, God Bless.

Stronger antibiotics

I still have an ear ache and a little sore throat so today Lori will call and get me some stronger antibiotics to kick this thing. I leaned back and yawned last night which then still made me dizzy. I’m not where I was a week ago, thank God, but can tell it’s still there.

Yesterday I went to the gym in the morning and Jag went in the afternoon. He’s getting stronger and more definition too. Ty had school and came home around 5 pm.

Dixie is doing fine after her first shot. A buddy who works in Aspen said he got the shot but he’s only about 55 so I asked him how. It was the old a friend of a friend story meaning he cut the line somewhere. I’ll bet there’s a lot of that going on. Every day in the news you see someone who does. Yesterday it was a trainer in NY that tried to say she’s an educator and influencer because she’s a personal trainer? She quickly deleted her instragram post and apologized. There’s talk of not letting her get the second shot for cutting the line. She’s of course so so sorry, now that she was caught. Lots of celebrities and wealthy people doing the same, of course. I did tell Chris (my buddy) that lots of older people still need it and he said they were at a non profit in Denver that had extra doses that were thawed out. Good answer, hope it’s true. Then at the gym, the wife of the owner who is also a trainer, says she’s not getting it. Only in 2021 would we even be talking about allocating shots for a virus that forced the World into lockdown and made everyone wear a mask. You couldn’t make this stuff up. Sadly if and when this is over, some other virus will probably pop up. I’m afraid this is only the beginning. Hope I’m wrong.

Time to move and groove. I’m off to Denver in 45 minutes. Snow coming tomorrow and Thursday. Lori is suppose to go to the dermatologist Thursday. We’ll see. God Bless you all, have a great day.

Here we go….again

Man, hard to get good sleep. Mojo whined last night about midnight waking Ty who came down. Turns out he shit in his crate. Ty cleaned it up but then Mojo whined more when put back in. Finally around sometime after 1, we just let him sleep in the garage. Of course by now, we were awake. For the past month or so, Mojo has been literally crazy. He wants out, then in, then out, then in. This can go on and on for hours. He’s still happy though so hard to put him down. In the end, none of us had much sleep.

Nice up here, pretty warm. Ty has in person school today and Jag goes back to Boulder in about a week. I have calls today and so does Lori. It’s 6:25 now so we need to get Ty up in 5 minutes. Jag’s friend Lexi’s roommate tested positive so his trip to Vermont is off. Too bad.

Time to get the coffee going. I’m limiting myself to one cup a day as being home all day, I can drink 4 or 5 easy which is too much. That’s it, time to go, God Bless.

Close to home

Yesterday we worked out and then picked Ty up in Vail before heading home for most of the day. Lori cleaned like crazy and I took it easy. Today we’re hoping for more of the same.

Well today is Mom’s birthday! I think she would have been 88 as she was born in 1933. Still miss her every day. I have a few pictures of her in my closet and office so I see her every day. In a strange way, I still think she’s here with me.

Jag went to workout around 3 for two hours. He’s committed to it and pushing himself hard. It’s more difficult to see physical changes when you’re really tall but man is he getting strong. Ty will get back on the workout program next week.

Lori took care of her new patient yesterday who is an 81 year old guy that’s probably the wealthiest man in Vail. Everyone from the head of the hospital to his assistant was all over Lori to make sure he was being attended to but in typical Lori fashion, she had already done everything and even caught a few mistakes the hospital made. The guy donated over $100 Million to the hospital so you can understand their concern.

Dixie got her first shot yesterday. Her caregiver stayed the night with her and we didn’t hear anything so all must be good. Lori managed to call California and get Dixie in otherwise she still wouldn’t have one.

I’m getting better but still kicking this thing. My balance is now good as I was standing on one leg lifting weights working out just fine and I can feel the crud dripping down my throat as it breaks up in my ear. Always something, right Mom? Ha.

God Bless.

Saturday

I’m doing better each day but the mornings are the toughest. I wake up a little dizzy after laying flat all night. I also have a tension headache from doing all the neck exercises I’m suppose to do. What a shit show.

Lori and I were in Aspen yesterday. We returned some shoes and a shirt and picked Ty up a couple pair of pants and Lori a jacket and pair of jeans on sale at Polo. Then we went to our favorite restaurant, Clarks Oyster Bar, and loaded up with food to go. Aspen is shut down restaurant wise due to a spike from all the people who visited over the holidays. Today we’re just taking it easy. I think I’ve been doing too much. We are going to the gym.

Ty went to Preston’s and last night Jag booked a plane reservation to go see Lexi in Vermont next weekend. He had enough miles to go First Class. It’ll be his first trip on his own. I think I had been on a few trips (actually a bunch) by the time I was his age. He goes through Chicago to Burlington on Thursday and comes home Sunday.

We had an inch of snow last night but that was it. It’s kind of cloudy outside now. Hope everyone is doing well. Something has to give, right? All the stuff going on with the govt. and the new administration and covid. What’s next? I thought 2021 was suppose to be better. Maybe things will turn. Keep a positive attitude. That’s all we can do! God Bless.
