What a week

Oh man, what a week. Between being dizzy and work and school, we’re thrilled it’s over. I should go to Aspen today but am still deciding. We had some more work on the house yesterday. Our builder trimmed the door going to the vault. Still more to do. It’s a long process.

Looks like there’s a mass vaccination event at National Jewish Health this weekend according to the news. I know Ali wants to get the shot asap. Call up and make an appointment right away and you might get in!

Not much else to say. Need some sunshine. My buddy of 40 plus years in Hawaii said they had a flash flood yesterday. He was up at Mick Fleetwood’s house hanging out when it hit. Lots of rain on the west coast and I guess down there too. We’re planning a road trip to Arizona in a month. Can’t wait. This covid thing is killing people. My Partner in Seattle is really struggling with his 12 and 15 year old girls. They’re super depressed. Lots of their friends have even cut themselves he told me last night! No one knows the damage being done to all of us but especially the younger generation as they keep a lot inside to themselves. One thing is for sure though, all these restrictions are not healthy or normal and kids have a much harder time dealing with it. Something has to give as we’re losing an entire generation of kids. The govt. and their talking heads like Fauci, change their minds on what to do almost daily, which then affects all of us. They need to get their shit together asap or just admit they know no more than the rest of us! For what it’s worth, the infectious disease doctor I saw Monday, who practiced 20 some years ago in New York, said back then Fauci would take other people’s research and then put his name on it and claim it as his own. He said he lost all respect for the guy when he signed up and took a big payment from a big pharma company and started pushing their drugs. And this is the guy who is basically controlling the entire Country’s lives, hmmm. Last, did you know he’s the highest paid Federal employee out of 4 million employee’s? He even makes more than the President. Follow the money, always follow the money.

Now they say there’s new variant’s, one from South Africa and the vaccine is not as effective against it. Only about 50% efficacy rate. Of course, right? As if we didn’t see this one coming.

That’s it as this is getting old, hope Ali gets the shot this weekend! God Bless.

Road trip

Lori and I are off to Denver this morning. She’s getting her hair done and I’ll be dropping some samples at the distributor while she’s doing so. My ear is a little achy but I’m getting better every day. It’s warming up up here and will be nice for a few days. My elk head arrived yesterday. Man is it huge. It makes all my other elk heads look small. Not sure where we can hang it.

More and more people I know are skipping the vaccine. For more information you should go to www.aflds.com. It outlines who should get it and who shouldn’t. Bonnie texted last night saying no way is she getting it. The problem is no one knows the long term implications and it says right on the vaccine papers, “does not prevent Covid-19”. Forget the potential side effects, if it’s not effective in preventing the virus, why get it. Some of you think this is all bull and all you’ve seen on tv is true. Well, I hope you’re right. I just don’t understand how if it’s so effective, why people who’ve had the shot are still getting covid and still passing it on to others. Crazy times. I’m glad I’m not over 70 and have to wait a bit anyhow. Everyone gets to decide on their own, as of right now anyhow. Soon though, if the govt. has their way, you might be forced to get it to do certain things like fly or go to a sporting event. I have faith that the power of the people will stop things before they get that far. Hope I’m right. Also hope people who have been vaccinated don’t start showing bad side effects.

Now to the Country. Looks like we’ve gone from racial equality to racial equity. WTF? Biden has signed about 30 executive orders while Trump, Obama and Bush each signed 2 to 4. This guy is out of control. From killing the Keystone Pipeline to letting boys now compete in girls sports and use the same bathrooms, he’s catering to the far left. They, the far left, want to now censor any voice that doesn’t agree with theirs. Hold on as it’s going to be a bumpy ride for the next two years. Thankfully two democratic Senator’s voted against removing the filibuster which would have given the dems unchecked control. Now Biden is forming a commission to look at changing the Supreme Court. Guess what’s been working for about 250 years isn’t good enough for him as it stops him from basically being a dictator or King which is how and why our founders designed things the way they are.

So, be well, safe and smart meaning think for yourself. In the 70’s we had bumper stickers that said “Question Authority”. That rings true now more than ever. Good luck and God Bless.

Getting better

Each day I’m a bit better. So strange though when your balance is off. Mojo chewed up a bunch of wine boxes in the garage last night. Thankfully he didn’t break any bottles. Looks cold in Denver. I’m off in about 30 minutes so hopefully it’ll warm up soon.

Lori worked a full day and so did I. I was in Grand Junction in the morning for work but back by noon. I need to get moving now, hope you all are well, GB.

What a day

It started Sunday night late, after the game. I had laid down for a bit and after I got up to get a drink of water, I almost fell into the wall. I was so dizzy I made a U-turn and headed right back to bed. Once there, I was dizzy too. Not knowing what was going on I went to sleep thinking I just got out of bed too fast. The next morning, yesterday, I was still dizzy but not as bad as the night before. I slept on and off until 11 am. I researched what was going on while Lori made me a doctor appointment at 4:30. I ruled out covid pretty quick and with Lori’s help, decided I had an inner ear infection. My left ear had been aching for a week. Once at the doctor we confirmed her diagnosis, an inner ear infection known as labyrinthitis. A bunch of fluid or puss had gathered behind my ear drum surrounding the labyrinth which are a series of tubes in your ear. Thankfully after seeing the doctor, he gave me some drops and antibiotics and told me it should be gone in 2 or 3 days. I’m better this morning than yesterday but still not quite 100%. Yesterday I couldn’t or wouldn’t even drive as I was feeling that woozy. How weird it was. They didn’t give me a covid test as like I said, we ruled that out early on. The unknown is scary and for a few hours I wasn’t sure what was going on. Thank God it wasn’t anything really serious.

Lori is at work today and I’m driving down to Grand Junction. We’ll both leave in an hour. Ty went to Frisco last night and hit some snow coming home. Jag is working away and will head back to Boulder in a few weeks. No snow up here, just cool temps with a warm up on the way. Time to get in the shower and have Lori put some of my cipro ear drops in my ear.

Take care, be well and God Bless.

Two crappy games

Well football sucks, both my teams lost. I’m done for the year and will skip the Super Bowl as I have zero interest in either team. Oh well, bring on the draft.

I went to James for the Green Bay game and came home for the second. I turned it off before halftime. Today I’m laying low. Lori took Ty to school and Jag is upstairs in class. No snow up here right now but we had a dusting, like less than a quarter inch.

Hard to believe it’s the last week of January. Hope it warms up soon. Not much else going on. Time to get moving, God Bless.

A Good Day

Yesterday we managed to follow our own advice and change things up a bit. We didn’t make it to the gym but that’s ok. After a slow morning around here we headed to Frisco to look at a coffee table I had found. Once there Lori found a rug too and after going back and forth with our sales girls, she managed to get them to give us a discount on both. We loaded both up and rushed home as we had dinner reservations at 5:30. When we arrived home, Jag helped me move furniture around and carry in the new rug and table. Once in place we all couldn’t believe how it transformed the living room and the whole house. It’s like some show home now. We’re all super happy with it.

30 minutes later we were in the car rushing to Beaver Creek to meet Marty and Melanie for her 50th birthday dinner. I guess it was a surprise that we were coming but Melanie figured it out. Dinner was really good with Lori having sole and I had the lamb. Two great dinners in a row, what luck. We were done by 7:30 and home an hour later. Lori had a great day which was the best news of all as she’s been kind of down lately with all her work and stress. She needs more sleep and Lori time.

This morning we are going to the gym and then to Frisco to pick up some food from the Mexican market and all of Melanie’s birthday flowers as she’s off to Dallas this morning for a week for work. She didn’t want them to go to waste and Lori said she’d take them. I remember dad would often bring home flowers for mom and they just make things better.

Today at 1 the Packers play the Bucs. Of course we’re rooting for Green Bay. Ty had Sonny stay the night. Jag went to the gym around 4 and has been working out and on a eating regimen to gain strength and muscle. Seems to be working. He’s up about 10 pounds and looks like a cage fighter. Both boys are working out tomorrow am at 6 before school. Time to go make coffee in our new house! Go Pack and God Bless.

A New Day

Today is a new day, not like yesterday and not like tomorrow. It is unique, special and your day. You have the power to make it want you want. You can do anything, which is the luxury of being human. Vow to do one thing today to make you happier. Go buy something you want, take a hike, talk openly with a friend, do something the opposite of your normal routine. That’s the beauty of it. You are you, no one else is and no one else knows what’s truly going on inside you. Be positive and throw out a small piece of the bad in your life and replace it with good. You can do it, all you have to do is decide that you will.

Yesterday after a rushed day Lori and I left around 2 to go have dinner with Jeff and Tina. We were supposed to go down tomorrow but who wants to drive down on a Sunday and there’s football and a little weather coming in. We went to Senor Bear in the Highlands which was incredible. It was Latin influenced and everything we ordered was like something we’d never had before and really good. I drove so everyone could have a cocktail. We went back to Jeff and Tina’s for 45 minutes or so before heading up the hill. Lori and I had a good two hours in the car alone which was nice.

Today we’re hitting the gym before maybe looking at a coffee table we’ve had our eye on. Our home is our happy place and we’re slowly getting things the way we want it. Lori has done an amazing job with everything about the house. I don’t mean just decorating but designing it all the way from picking out the lot to deciding which way it would face the sun. We’re still in awe of how great it turned out.

Tonight we have dinner with Marty and Melanie for her 50th birthday. We’d rather stay home but feel obligated to go. I think we’re going to go down to Miraval in Tucson for a couple days to get some sun and rejuvenate ourselves. We need a beach or a pool or at least some warm weather bad.

Almost 8am so time to get moving. Just a dusting of snow up here right now, only enough to cover the ground. Hope everyone is well, take care be safe and reread paragraph one! And yes reread is a word! God Bless.

No one knows

These days there are lots of rules, and more are coming. The problem is, no one, your doctor, the news, the government, really knows what’s going on or just what to do. If you don’t believe me, just go back a few weeks on your computer and look at what you’ve been told. The story changes almost daily now. The latest is just when you think things might get better, they say there is a new variant from the U.K. Of course they don’t know how it spreads, how bad it is or if the vaccine that they’re rushing to give everyone, will even work. So be prepared for more lockdowns, more restrictions and more of your rights being limited or just taken away, all in the name of being for your own good. But remember, they’re just guessing. You know as much as anyone.

Today I have a conference call at 9. We also have construction guys coming by to work. Lori is home and so are the boys. I did get a haircut yesterday and was home by 4. Lori was home by 6. It’s sunny out right now but they say some snow is coming in this weekend. We need it as it’s been a pretty dry winter.

One more week in January. Good football this weekend. Stay safe and think for yourself. Remember, you know your body and your situation better than anyone, especially the govt. GB.

Organizing

Yesterday I worked on the basement. We’re still unpacking some boxes from the move. Hard to believe. We also still have our two storage units that at a minimum need to be consolidated to one. Amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the years and how much of it you really don’t care about. You wonder why you kept it in the first place.

I’m back in Denver today and Lori is working at the office today which is rare for a Thursday. Ty has school and Jag will pick him up at 2:20 and take him to Vail for his doctor appointment. Good to have him here to help.

Well Joe was inaugurated yesterday and there were no violent protests at any Capital. Later in the night though, there were protests in cities like Seattle and Portland but, wait for it, they were protesting Joe Biden! Turns out Antifa and the leftists don’t like him either. Hmm. Here’s one for you, go to www.antifa.com and it sends you to Whitehouse.gov! Are you kidding me? A domestic terrorist organization tied directly to Joe and his administration. Don’t believe me, give it a try. It sent you there all day yesterday and this morning too. Wow. Didn’t see that on the news did you?

It’s warm outside, probably in the 30’s. We have two birthday dinners this weekend. Melanie’s on Saturday and Tina’s on Sunday. Tomorrow we have a few workers coming by fixing some things that are long overdue. Later this Spring we’ll still be fixing things I’m sure. Houses settle, especially when new.

Time to go. Hope you all are well, be safe, take care and God Bless.

Here we go

Today Trump is out and Biden is in. Things are about to get weird and it could start as soon as this afternoon. Watch for a bunch of Executive Orders. You might not notice them right away but they will change the way we live. Hope for the best.

Ty has school today at 8 and Lori is in Vail. I have a few calls and then am headed to Glenwood. Jag is doing well and so are the dogs. I think the electrician is coming by today to fix the heat tape on the roof.

I made it to Libby’s on time. Ty ended up not going so I had her tell me what to do for him. She froze some age spots on my hands and that was about it. Then I met a buddy and picked up some supplies before heading home. Time to get ready to take Ty and then go to the gym. Be well, be safe and God Bless.
