SNOW

Well snow is here. We also learned Jag won’t go back to college until February 15th which is a month delay. Lori will get tested today for her trip tomorrow. Other than that we’ll be hanging close to home. Lots to do. Hope we make it down tomorrow to get Lori to the airport. We’ll need to leave early.

I have a few calls today. People are trying to get back to normal but every time we take a step forward and adapt, somebody, mostly democrats, put in some new restrictions. The people have had enough and judges are now over ruling excessive lockdowns by these politicians. Thank God.

Turns out Hunter Biden and his family (that includes daddy) have been under Grand Jury investigation for two years for China dealings. Then you have the California Congressman who led the impeachment against Trump who was sleeping with a Chinese spy and had an intern that she put in his office and get this, he is on the Intelligence Committee. Better yet, Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders admitted they held off on approving coronavirus aid to hurt Trump’s election chances. Let that sink in. They purposely delayed aid to Americans so Trump wouldn’t get re-elected. Their logic was that doing this, even though people died, prevented more people from dying over 4 more years of Trump! Unbelievable. This is criminal. They have the blood of Americans on their hands, wow. Enough said. You still trust the govt.? Especially any democrat? They lied to us for four years saying Russia had infiltrated Trump while all along China had infiltrated them! Sad thing is most dems will look the other way.

The vaccine is coming soon to a pharmacy near you. Problem is only 47% say they’ll take it. Large crowds were in the streets of London singing “stick the vaccine up your arse”. Something has to give as lots of people won’t get the shot. They say this is all due to Thanksgiving travel. Stay close to home if you can. Some scientists say we don’t need the shot as with 15 million confirmed cases you have 150 million more people exposed Worldwide which is half the World’s population meaning we have enough for herd immunity. They say we now just have to let it work through the population. We’ll see if they’re right. I’d rather verify anything they say than trust what they say at this point.

That’s it. Time to go. God Bless everyone.

Here we go

Snow’s coming in tonight. Then it’ll be cold for at least 10 days meaning in the teens at night and if lucky, the 30’s up here in the day. Dixie will hang out in the house as there’s no where to go. Our local nursing home a mile away has 14 cases which is a pretty big outbreak for up here.

We’re all optimistic about 2021. How could you not be after this year. Lori probably should not be traveling with everything going on but her mom is not doing well at home all alone. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing but it’s her mom. My mom probably wouldn’t go anywhere.

Jag had one final yesterday and another tomorrow and another Saturday. Ty’s are all next week. Aspen was nice, pretty crowded too. I was in and out of town in an hour and after picking up some ribs for the boys, home by 2.

Time for coffee. December 10th wow. God Bless.

Aspen today

Heading west today to Aspen. Lori is in Vail. Should be home mid-afternoon. The boys are studying away. My back is getting a bit better but Lori has a Pars fracture according to Dr. B. No surgery now but good to know. Also Dr. C. apparently fractured her hip when Lori had her first fusion. Wow.

Today is also Dad’s birthday. What a great man who is still missed and in our thoughts and prayers.

Weather is headed our way with cold temps starting tomorrow night and then staying here for a while. Should be n the 30’s all the way until Christmas. I’m in Grand Junction tomorrow and need to get back before the snow. Time to get coffee and get ready for my 8am call with Slovenia. Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Now straight from the UK today, hmmm. Who’s first in line for a vaccine?

MailOnline US - news, sport, celebrity, science and health stories

Americans with ‘significant’ food or medicine allergies are urged NOT to have Pfizer shot after two UK healthcare workers suffer ‘anaphylactic reaction’ – so was Fauci right about Britain rushing its approval?

There are fears over how safe Pfizer’s COVID vaccine is after two British healthcare workers who were among the first in the world to receive it on Tuesday went into anaphylactic shock hours later, prompting British authorities to tell anyone with a ‘severe’ allergy to food or medicine not to get it. The FDA is due to meet tomorrow to discuss green-lighting the vaccine in America after being lambasted for taking a week longer than the Brits to get it off the ground. In a preliminary analysis posted online on Tuesday, one group of FDA scientists said it was safe and there was no mention of any type of allergic reaction. But Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is now warning people with a severe allergy to food or medicine not to get it. In America, that applies to at least 200,000 people who have food allergies and many more who have drug allergies. The two healthcare workers who were affected both carry EpiPens but no other information has been given. They are now said to be recovering well. Among the 20,000 people who were given the vaccine in Pfizer’s trial, 137 had allergic reactions but so did 111 people who were given the placebo, leading scientists to dismiss it as a potential hazard. Four people did get Bell’s Palsy after receiving it, a type of facial paralysis, but the trial scientists said it was not necessarily the jab that caused it and was on par with the general rate of Bell’s Palsy in the wider population.

Work work work

Lori works in person today and I have a run to Denver. Jag is studying along with Ty. Weather is headed our way and of course Lori is supposed to go get her Mom Saturday. Not sure if that’s the right decision or not. Lori will see how things are when she gets there.

I have a bunch of Zoom calls between now and year end. I think the boys are done a week from Friday. Jag’s birthday is the 17th and Dad’s tomorrow. That’s it for today. Hope everyone is well, God Bless.

Happy Birthday Mojo!

Mojo is 15 years old today! A few weeks ago we didn’t think he’d make it but he’s just fine other than his back end being weak and skinny. Today is also the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Most kids probably don’t even know what that is. Sad.

Jag’s car needs to go to Glenwood for an estimate today. Lori and I both threw our backs out yesterday morning but I’ll probably need to take it as he needs to study for finals. A big part of his birthday and Christmas will be getting his car fixed.

The Bronco’s almost won. In the end, almost means nothing but they did play better against the Super Bowl Champs.

We should probably get tested for covid although they now say 90% of all tests are false positives. Turns out the cycle threshold skews the tests by amplifying the markers too much. In short this means anything you have in your body, if multiplied enough, will show a positive. Take a molecule of anything, any dormant gene we all have, and then multiply it by 50 an it’ll appear you have the virus. Problem is it’s not multiplied in your body to that extent and the virus is basically dead or dormant. As of yesterday all States but one use any cycle threshold they want which is creating all these false positives. Finally yesterday Florida became the first State to require that labs write down the CT they use on all tests. Now this doesn’t mean some people aren’t getting really sick but it does mean the millions of people the news say have it, don’t.

They say in the U.S. we have 15 million cases with 285,000 deaths which is a fatality rate of .019 percent. And this figure assumes every case they say is covid is covid which we know is not true. Right now almost anyone that dies from anything is blamed on covid so let’s say the number is only halfway wrong which I think is still too high. Then the death rate is .0009. Pretty low. Yet some States, all run by democrats, are locking down all businesses and activity based on these numbers. People are rebelling, even Sherriff’s in California are refusing to enforce lockdowns. You can’t have the cure be worse than the disease. What’s the point?

Now on to the vaccine. 55% of New York Fire Fighters say they won’t take it. What’s that tell you? The Pizer vaccine is making women sterile and has other serious side effects including death. Hmm. Think we’ll wait a while before getting it. More to come here but scientists around the World are raising alarms saying the vaccine is not ready. Surprise surprise.

So there you have it. The takeaway is you still want to be safe, wash your hands, get good sleep and eat right. Vitamins like C and D help too, especially in Winter. If you’re old or have a disease, just like in flu season, avoid crowds where germs spread more easily. That’s it, hang in there, God Bless.

Last Day of Rest

Big week coming up. Tuesday and Wednesday is Denver, Thursday Grand Junction and Saturday Lori goes to the airport. She needs to get tested this week, we probably do too but probably won’t. It’s not as easy as it was to even get tested now as it was a month or two ago.

Jag wants to go into business and law. We’re fine with it if he’s not happy in engineering. We’ll see what happens. First is getting through finals for both boys. This year is not really fair, especially for Jag as he’s pretty much on his own. As an example, there’s no way to meet with his physics professor. He said he can teach himself calculus and other things as there are instructions in the text books but with physics you need to be taught which isn’t happening. We feel sorry for him but he’ll get through it.

We need to get set up this week for Dixie. We need to buy a twin bed and I need to move some things out of my office. Harley will be living in a muzzle and outside for the most part. We’ll social distance from her as no way we can lock the kids down. We’ll see what happens in the next few days.

We bought the kids a few presents yesterday. We’ll have to get on line and get busy. Most of you will be getting food if I don’t hear from you. Food though is a great gift! Guess that’s it, tomorrow is Mojo’s birthday. He’ll be 15! That’s a big deal for a big dog! God Bless.

Shopping

I stopped into a store yesterday and it was pretty normal except for the damn masks. They’re getting really annoying to wear everywhere you go. The store was not packed at all which was a good side benefit. I flew like a tornado through Nordstrom’s getting the boys some clothes for Christmas before heading up the hill. Today Lori and I will try to get some more done as she leaves a week from today to get her mom covid permitting.

Ty spent the night at Preston’s and Jag spent the night at Sara’s in Boulder. They should both be home by 11. I stopped at Tom and Ali’s yesterday. Good to see them. Al is struggling with I think her Copd as she had her oxygen on and also with insurance companies since she switched to Medicare halfway through the year. Tom is doing fine. We’re trying to decide if we’re going down for Christmas or not. Jeff and Tina invited us all down but that’s not in the cards with Dixie here plus it’s our first year in our new home. Nice of them to offer though.

California and a few other democratic States are installing new sweeping lockd0wns that have no science behind them. I don’t understand why these guys want to lock everything down when even guys like Dr. Fauci tells them to open the schools and other places. As an example of hypocrisy, all outdoor dining in L.A. is now shut down but Hollywood movie studios are erecting tents for outdoor dining for actors. I didn’t know actors were essential workers? See you can learn something every day you read the blog! Biden says he wants everyone to wear masks for 100 days. That’ll work, ha. Remember half the Country, (or more) didn’t vote for Biden and probably won’t do anything he asks. What a shit show. Hope 2021 is better, right?

That’s it, time to move and groove. God Bless.

20 Days!

I’d better get a move on, 20 days until Christmas. Lori is supposed to get her Mom a week from today. Right now we’re still a go but yesterday they said they’re locking down California, the whole State, for the next 3 weeks! Talk about a buzz kill for the holidays. What politicians don’t seem to understand is they’re doing just as much harm or maybe even more to people with these restrictions. I’ve said before, I don’t want to get sick and I’m not hanging out with large crowds but to lock down an entire State? You now need papers to drive in Los Angeles. Also there’s talk of a National Vaccine Card to go anywhere. Unbelievable. Not sure the people will go for that. Just so you know, with the stimulus money they already gave out, they could have given every person $20,000 to stay home for two months and this probably would have been over. But they chose to give it to big companies thinking they’d then spend it properly and it’d make it’s way down to you and me. That’s the government for you. Always trying to buy their way out of a problem, with yours and my money (taxes) by giving it to their friends. Nice. Should be a lesson for us but we never learn and keep voting these same losers in.

Lori decorated a little more outside and today might do some more. I’m meeting Toby today and then dropping some things for the Jefferson County Sherriff Dept. annual auction. We help them out every year as the proceeds go to families of injured or deceased officers. James signed a bottle of his whisky for me and I put together a box of good wine.

Lots going on at work as usual. Lori has a doctor appointment this afternoon and the boys are plugging along. I was feeling punkish yesterday but am all good today. Never had a fever. Think I was still recovering from getting up at 3 am on Monday. It’s been a long week with little rest.

Tons of voter fraud coming to light. Now on video! It’s clear some votes were stolen from Trump but not sure it’ll do any good even though it’s in color on tape! People will somehow sluff it off.

James is headed to the ranch in California on Sunday. He said last night the plane leaves from Eagle on Sunday and he has plenty of room and that we should come along but we have too much to do. Maybe at the end of January we’ll go with him for a week. Much easier and nicer to fly private these days. He’ll be back on the 17th.

Time to go get a move on. I need some Christmas ideas or you’ll all get food! Beautiful up here. All else is good. Blessed to be working, have a roof over our heads and food on the table when so many are hurting. Take stock and be thankful for what you have, God Bless.

Don’t blink

It’s December 3rd and if you take a long nap or look the other way, 2021 will be here. Yesterday was one of those blurry days. Poor Lori was gone for 13 hours which wore her out. Thankfully she works from home the rest of the week. I need to start thinking about Christmas shopping or it will be 2021 before anyone gets any gifts!

It’s warming up over the next few days and going to stay that way for a week at least. So far it’s been a mild winter. Maybe we’ll luck out.

Ty has school, Jag has classes from home and I have a call with Italy at 9 and another with Slovenia after that. My back is sore from walking and hunting on Monday. I worked out with Ty yesterday as if you don’t work out for 3 or 4 days, your muscles get sore, weird but true.

Need some coffee. Be well, stay healthy and God Bless.

Getting my truck

We’re off early so Lori can drop me at the Chevy dealer in Golden and then head back up to Frisco for work. My truck is done and I need to get it. Last night Jag had Sara, (we think his new girlfriend) from Boulder, here for dinner. They spent the afternoon together and she drove home late last night. Super nice and cute girl.

It was warm up here yesterday compared to Denver I guess. Supposed to be warming up more with 10 days of sunshine up next. Not a lot more going on. Lori and I need to get to the gym as we’re sore from not working out. That’s not a typo, if you don’t work out for a while, your bones get sore, true.

Have to run, be well and safe and God Bless.
