One more day!

Tomorrow things change, and it’s about time. President Trump and policies that our Country were founded on, are back! Thank God. How anyone can think the past four years have been good for our Country is beyond me. This was a point in history that will define the United States forever. If Biden or Harris or the Democrats would have won, our downfall would have been irreversible. I do believe God honestly saved us and our Country, and probably the entire World. There will be tough times ahead, cleaning up the mess made, but we will survive. History will not be kind to those that did what they did, and they know it. It’s still beyond me how anyone could have done some of the things that happened over the past four years. Thank God for his divine intervention.

Ty made it home around 1 yesterday. He went straight to Madi’s and I think slept all day. I guess they were out all night long until around 7 yesterday morning. Only thing I can say about that is, he’ll always remember his 21st birthday! Glad he had a blast (his words) and everyone was safe.

Lori made this incredible creamy chicken soup. I ate most of it watching two football games, so I think she’s making more of it today. Speaking of football games, one was predictable, and one was an upset. The Chiefs won of course, once again, thanks to the refs, while the Redskins (some people call them the Commanders) shocked the World beating the Lions who everyone had favored to at least, be in the Super Bowl. Two personal foul calls on the Texans absolutely changed the Chiefs game and the Texans out played them by every measure. It’s so unfair and not even worth watching them anymore. In the end, it’s only a game so I’m not letting it upset me. Thank God we weren’t playing them, or it’d take a while to get over it.

No snow up here and it’s actually not that cold. The brunt of the system is east of the mountains, down in Denver. The further west Ty drove towards home, the better the weather became.

Lori is still sleeping. She needs it as her head has been hurting her bad. Hopefully she’s a little bit better this morning. Jag and I were texting back and forth during the games. That’s it. More football today and more soup! Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Nothingburger

The way they talked, you would have thought that we moved deep into the mountains of Alaska. Up here we have a dusting of snow and it’s about 18 degrees. Denver is below zero, but come on people, it is January. What do you expect?

Ty had a great birthday and hit the town with his friends. He’s getting a little more sleep before heading out for home. Around 3 yesterday I dropped Lori for a massage at the Westin. I picked her up around 4:45 and then we watched the rest of one of our new favorite series, America Primeval. It’s on Netflix. Robi, you and Bobby would love it. It’s pretty realistic.

Lori is making some chicken soup today for the games. I think they start around 2:30. We’re glad Ty had a good birthday. He even won $150 at the casino in Blackhawk! Good news is he quit while he was ahead and walked with his winnings! Most people don’t do that.

Lori is still dealing with her headache. We may have to bite the bullet and get her another surgery. Not sure what else to do at this point. I’ll try getting her to a different climate for a vacation. Maybe lower elevation and some humidity will help.

Here’s our guy. We always forget that both boys are actually adults. At 21 and 23, they’re, as Jagger likes to say, grown ass men, ha. Think about it, guys playing football and basketball you watch on tv are 20, or 22 years old! Hard to believe. As a parent, you still think they’re much younger than they really are. Funny how that works, but they really are grown men now. I remember the days of Viet Nam when 18-year-olds were going to war! So hard to comprehend. Time flies.

Have a great day, Go Texans and God Bless.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TY

Ty is 21 years old today! What a journey. He’s meeting us for breakfast at 8:15 this morning before heading down to Denver. Tonight, he and his buddies are going to a jazz club, then a bar where his buddy is the promoter and then Whisky Row over by the baseball stadium. I’ve warned him to be careful in Denver. He’s planning on heading up early in the morning so he can go snowboarding on the mountain and then is supposedly going out up here tomorrow night.

We’re super happy for him and very proud of the young man he’s become. We’re excited to see what he and Jagger both do with their lives. Oh to be 21 years old again! Happy Birthday and we love you Ty!

Last night we had cigar night. We had a full house and Davy even made it for an hour as it was his birthday! He had to leave a little after 5 as Abbey had arranged for a massage at the house for him.

Lori has to work on research today at the hospital. Snow and cold weather are coming in starting this afternoon. The next 90 hours they say are going to be cold. We’ll hunker down and watch football. At least it’s coming in on the weekend. Speaking of football, the coach of the Lions reached out and asked that if they make it to the NFC Championship Game, if James and Kirk would do the National Anthem. This isn’t new for them as James has done opening day at least half a dozen times for the San Francisco Giants and also performed for a bunch of other pro sports teams. They don’t sing, just play guitar. Then they get to watch the game. I said, heck yeah, when do we leave! We told him last night he needs to take us all as his crew for the pre-game performance. Everyone also asked if we’re having our Super Bowl party again. Lori had already said yes so, the guys are all excited.

That’s about it. I need to gather up Ty’s suit, his snowboard gear and load it all up. We also need to wrap his presents. Lori has her Pilates workout at 7 so that gives us about 30 minutes to get out the door. Have a great day, give Ty a call and God Bless.

Coming home

This morning Lori’s Porsche comes home! We decided since we’re going to Glenwood, we’d take Jagger’s car down and drop it at the Audi dealer for service. It needs an oil change, I think a new battery and the transmission serviced. We’ll get it tomorrow or next week, depending on when they get it done.

Yesterday I went to see my buddy Zach that owns a shoe store in Edwards. We get all our tennis and workout shoes from him. He knew right away what I have going on with my foot. Apparently, a lot of people up here have the same thing because we’re such an active community. Ski boots are famous for squeezing your toes together, which aggravates this particular nerve. It’s called Morton’s Naroma. So now I have two new pair of workout shoes with a wider toe box. Dr. Elton says all our feet were never meant to be squeezed into the shoes we all wear, and cowboy boots are a big offender. Of course, I pretty much live in cowboy boots. So, for the next week, or until the nerve calms down, I’ll be in my new tennis shoes and flip flops.

Cigar night tonight. Cold weather coming in tomorrow night. Wish Ty would postpone his Denver trip, but he has big plans. He’s planning on coming back up Saturday, weather permitting.

Only a few more days until Bozo is out of the White House. I can’t even go into his speech yesterday as it was like a Seinfeld episode. It was like he’s living in an alternate universe, where everything is 100% opposite of what he said. I saw a little bit of the Senate confirmation hearings. They’re a microcosm of what’s wrong with our Country. Trumps cabinet picks, who are highly qualified, smart and for the most part, people with business and common sense, schooled all these old, and frankly, flat out dumb Democratic Senators, who read what they thought were gotcha questions, from a prepared script. Whoever gave them their talking points or questions, was even dumber. The contrast between these smart, mostly younger people and the politicians, who have either never had a real job, or been in office for decades, couldn’t have been more apparent. I think our Country is finally going to get back to what our founders had intended us to be. The land of the free and home of the brave, where people live and let live. Many of the Democratic Senators were left dumbfounded not knowing how to reply to their responses. It was embarrassing for them and for our Country, as these people make laws that affect you and me! Thank God President Trump won.

That’s it, the elk are in our backyard this morning. 6:20am now, time to get moving. I need to check Jag’s car and clean it out a bit before we go. Have a great day, and God Bless.

Cold’s coming

Looks like a cold Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will still be cold, but nothing like the weekend. Guess it’s going to be well below zero. Not as bad up here as down in Denver. We wish Ty would postpone his birthday trip to Denver on Friday as we’re not sure he’ll be able to get back up here on Saturday. Maybe his friends can come up here.

I was down to Denver and back up home in good time yesterday. On the way home, I stopped for groceries. Lori works in Vail today and then tomorrow we’ll go pick up her car in Glenwood. I’ll drop her this morning and then go to the gym.

6am now. Nuggets and Av’s won last night. Two nice wins. That’s about it, time to get moving. Have a great day and get ready for the polar blast, God Bless.

Quick Trip

I’ll be in Denver by 8:30ish this morning to get the truck serviced. Hope to be headed back up the hill by 11 or so. Yesterday my lovely wife managed to get me in to see Dr. Elton about my foot. Turns out I have some nerve between my second and third toe that was causing me discomfort. He gave me some pads to put in my shoe and said it should calm down and go away. If not, I’ll get a steroid shot down the road. I’m sure I’ll be fine after a while. Just part of getting older.

Looks like it’ll be cold later this week, especially in Denver. Could be as cold as 15 or 20 below zero! Annette, you might want to come and visit, ha! Ty’s going down for his 21st birthday on Friday. He’ll celebrate with us Saturday. Then he’s going out up here Saturday night with some friends. I told him, he’d better pace himself!

Lori is in Edwards today and then Vail tomorrow. We’ll go get her car Thursday morning in Glenwood.

I’m looking for some property in Montana or Idaho. I think this is the way to go rather than outright buying a new house. Lori can then design a little cabin we can build on it while still living here. If we ever decide to move, we can then build a larger home on the property too. You can find a couple hundred acres, if you look in the right places, for as little as $300K. I should have jumped on 222 acres up by Flathead Lake for $329K I’d been watching. Time to get busy as we’re not getting any younger! I want to get some kind of stronghold or place outside of Colorado. I just don’t trust this State anymore. Plus, it’ll be fun for Lori. She’s a great designer. In fact, there’s not a whole lot she can’t do.

That’s it, time to move and groove. Have a great day and stay safe and God Bless.

Good times

Well, the game didn’t go how we hoped, but we had a great time with our friends. James, Addy, Davy, Abbey, Mark, Shelly, Clark and Ken, along with neighbors and friends Dea, Nate, their kids and Castor, James’s son, who were all here for two games, a ton of great food, and lots of fun. The weather was great with the sun shining outside enough to let us sit out there with no coats.

Harley was Harley, meaning barking and wanting to play all day long. Marty and Mel were flying back from Montana, so they missed the soiree.

Lori works in Vail this morning at 8:30, so I’ll be driving her once again. Her car should be ready tomorrow. I think I have a stress fracture on top of my left foot. I’ve probably had it for a good month and have just been dealing with it. I’ll get it checked out this week.

No new snow up here. It’s probably zero outside right now. It’s 14 degrees in Denver right now. Fires are still raging in SoCal. Castor flies back to LA today. He’s been here a couple weeks. We’re super happy for James as he had a great time having his son here for two weeks.

Four people stabbed with two dying in Denver over the weekend. The attacks were random around 5 in the afternoon. So, let me get this straight. You’re walking down the street in downtown Denver, on the highly lauded tourist destination known as the 16th Steet Mall, and you could be stabbed to death for no reason at all. What the fuck is going on? In Argentina, the citizens are praising Milei, their President, for lowering the age to own a gun so citizens can protect themselves. In Switzerland, it’s mandatory for all adults to own a gun. But here in Colorado, our Governor, and the Dems are proposing new laws to further restrict firearm ownership, and if he had his way, get rid of all guns. You don’t see this type of crime much in Texas as everyone is armed. And they have way more immigrants due to their proximity to the border. Colorado has to push back. I don’t think our Sherriff would enforce any new ban, but things are getting so bad here, (remember my post from the other day) that one really has to consider moving. We’re a microcosm of the Country as Polis (the Governor) has done to Colorado what Biden has done to the Country, just on a much smaller scale. Again, be aware of your surroundings and hope for the best but expect the worst.

Jag’s last semester starts today! Lots going on with work. I’m super busy and have a lot happening. All good stuff. 6:45am now so time to get moving. Have a great day, be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Game Day

Hoping to shock the World today. Of course no one is picking us to win, but that’s ok. Odds say we won’t, but you never know. If we don’t, we’ve still way overachieved this year and have lots to look forward to. Game starts at 11, Go Broncos!

6:40am and I just finished shoveling the driveway. Thought I’d get out there early and knock it out. Lori made chili, two kinds of lasagna, vegetarian and regular, cupcakes and a bunch of sides. Think we have a dozen or so friends coming over.

1000 miles west, people are still dealing with the fires and the loss of everything they own. The finger pointing has begun between the Fire Chief, LA’s Mayor and the loser Governor of California. Turns out the reservoirs were dry with no water in them. I told Lori to tell Kristin to get a high-end lawyer now and sue the city and State. In a few weeks California will still send out property tax notices expecting all these people with ashes for homes, to still pay, just watch. Oh, and in North Carolina, Fema was kicking people out of the temporary housing they’re in from the hurricane yesterday. They’ve now extended their stay until Tuesday, due to the outrage from social media. Biden also said they’ll provide 100% support to LA for six months clean up (that’s all they do) but they don’t do that for North Carolina. Guess there’s more Dems in LA than North Carolina. Wow, what a fucked up Country. Bring on Trump, only eight more days!

Lori is cleaning and getting ready. 11am is an early start. Time to get moving, have a great day and GO BRONCOS! God Bless.

A little snow

Yesterday afternoon Lori and I went for pedicures. This was my second one of these, in my whole life! With her car in the shop still, I didn’t want to drop her off and then either go home and go back, or hang out, so she suggested I join her. Now I could be a foot model!

A little snow outside. It’s still snowing lightly. I’ll shovel in a few minutes. Harley had her nails done yesterday too! The vet showed up at 9:30 and gave her a quick check up and trimmed her nails. Harley gets stressed out going to the vet.

Ty worked a party last night at work. He’ll be back at it this morning. Two football games today, and then the Bronco game tomorrow. Lori is making lasagna and chili for our mini watch party.

Fires are still burning in LA. Most, if not all, are human caused. I think it’s more likely terrorism than homeless people. Think about it, if you’re a sleeper cell or terrorist, would you rather shoot up a mall and take out half a dozen people, or burn down one of the, in their minds, most sinful cities in the World. LA is the epicenter, according to them, of everything they despise. One suspect already arrested, supposedly was an illegal immigrant and had five id’s. Not sure if this is verified, but on the surface, he did look like a foreigner.

Shit’s getting crazy. 9 more days until President Trump is in office, and we begin to turn things around. Meanwhile, as I posted yesterday, our Governor is doing everything he can do against the wishes of the people. Colorado has a good chance of turning red next election. It’s like Newsom and Polis are vying for the title of worst Governor in the Country.

The MSM news is lauding how Trump will be the first convicted felon in the White House. The Dems still don’t get that the reason he won is directly related to them going after him. No way, if it wasn’t Trump, that anyone else would have been prosecuted. Remember, the Justice Dept. declined to prosecute him on these trumped-up charges! (funny ha) It was a DA in New York that ran on getting Trump no matter what. All those millions of dollars and resources spent going after him for supposedly using campaign money to pay off a porn star. (I don’t know anyone who cares) Meanwhile New York is rampant with crime, homelessness and falling apart. I hope they (the Dems) keep it up, as then the Republicans will win again for sure in 2028. People are finally getting fed up with all this crap the Dems have been pushing, enough said.

That’s it, time to get outside! Make it a great day, stay safe and God Bless.

Cold

Says it’s cold outside, at least in Denver. 12 degrees down there. Not sure what it is outside up here. We’re out of here in 30 minutes for Pilates and chest day. I talked to Tommy for a minute last night, he and Holly are getting a puppy! She just lost one of her dogs recently so good for them.

Ty went to Denver to get his windows tinted and stopped at Tommy’s on the way home. He’s super happy and it was one of his birthday presents.

Our mobile vet comes to the house this morning. They’re our regular vet but Harley gets so worked up, they come to the house. Yesterday 12 bottles (liters) of olive oil arrived from Antonio in Italy. Good timing as we’re down to about an inch left in our last bottle. I send him cash and have him send a case every year.

Lori talked to Kristin yesterday. She’s still kind of in shock, which is understandable, but she’ll be ok. She has a good friend group and is a strong girl. Still, so sad as she lost everything, and I mean everything. Can’t imagine all your life’s stuff instantly gone. And the fires, seven of them, are still going. They’ve arrested one arson suspect but most of these have been started by someone.

Most people don’t have insurance as a lot of companies pulled out of the State. Colorado is close to having the same thing happen here. We’ve gone so far downhill since the Democrats took over, in all measures of life. Check this out, what a joke. When will people wake up and stop voting these people in?

Lori’s cooking an impromptu feast for the Bronco game Sunday morning. We’ll have a few people over, but it won’t be as large as our Christmas party.

Time to get moving. No snow up here. Think it’s going to warm up next week. So far it’s been a pretty mild year snow wise for us.

That’s it, make it a great day. Hang in there and God Bless.
