Screwed again

Neither team we had hoped would win, won. The Eagles and Redskins (I still call them the Redskins most of the time), game was a good game and the best team won. The Chiefs, aka, the Cheats, however, once again, had the benefit of questionable calls which went, of course, in their favor. Look, when there’s a controversy every week, that favors one team, something’s wrong. You don’t see this type of thing happen with any other team, in any other sport, and you wonder why people are upset. It’s sad as it just makes things not as much fun. Too bad. Oh well, there’s larger issues in the World than the Kansas City Cheats.

Lori made extra soup yesterday for Davy and Abby and the kids, as they were in Steamboat all day for hockey. River scored a goal, and they won both their games. We’re all going to Aspen next week for a couple games.

Five days left in the month. Hard to believe. Looks like a warm week. Lori, Ty, Madi and I are going to dinner tomorrow night. The whole restaurant is closed today so the entire staff can go skiing together. Should be a nice day as the temperature will be almost 40! Going to be a warm week which is a big change from the single digits and below we’ve had for a while.

Lori’s headache seems to be a little better today. We tried dry needling on Friday morning that we think finally kicked in. I think she needs to lay off the Pilates for a while.

7:15 now, no gym today as you need to let your muscles rest every once in a while. That’s it for the day, enjoy the last Monday of January! Spring will be here soon! God Bless.

Unsafe

Two shot in Denver, two stabbings, 3 bodies found in a parking lot, just another day in the city. And the Governor wants you to believe this is because of guns. Remember, in the Fall, there’s about 50 million people in the woods, every weekend, and no one is killed. Be ready, be smart and be aware, enough said.

Lori is still sleeping. We had another dusting of snow last night, but no accumulation on the ground. Football this afternoon. First, we’ll head to the gym and then drop Ty his snowboard stuff as the whole staff is having a ski day tomorrow.

Davy, Abby and the kids, flew down to Denver yesterday to go to the semi-finals rodeo at the Stock Show. A friend of his has a jet just sitting at the airport for these types of circumstances, ha. Next year we’re all going to go.

Marty bought a lot on Flathead Lake in Polson Montana. It’s a long skinny lot but is waterfront. Nothing we would have bought but we do like the area. As I say, it’s offensively expensive up here. Not sure how to make retirement work up here when it’s so expensive. We’re looking at all options. All I know is I pretty much am planning on being done, except in a consultant role, (I’ll always work in some capacity) by December 2026. What we need to do is be able to have Lori stop working. In a way, I’m retired now and have been for years, ha.

The President is on a role. Cabinet picks are getting confirmed, and things are changing, no matter how much the Dems and libs post and whine on social media. Our Country is on the way back, thank God.

That’s it, time to get moving, big last week of January ahead. Go Commanders and Go Bills! God Bless.

A dusting

Not much snow outside, maybe a half an inch at most. We’ll take it. Yesterday we worked around the house. I ran to the grocery store and washed the truck. Lori made a beef chili recipe out of the Yellowstone cookbook Robi told me about. Every muscle in my body is sore today, especially my legs, from working out. Lori tried dry needling for her neck but we’re not sure yet if it worked.

Ty works today and its Chef Bob’s birthday so he asked if we’d bring some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, which is Bob’s favorite. When we go to the gym in a few, we’ll grab some after we workout.

Football tomorrow. We’d like the Commanders and Bills to win, but I think they’re both the underdogs.

Property taxes actually dropped from about $13K to $11K this year, which is nice, but still outrageous for what it is. Jag’s car should be done next week, ($2700, ugh), and Lori license plates are due at the end of the month. It never stops. Not sure how someone who has a minimum wage job, or even one that is under $100k a year, survives. When we were kids, if you made a $100k a year, you’re were rich! No more, that’s chump change these days. Something has to give. Sure wish the govt. would put in a flat tax, along with term limits.

Guess I’ll get moving and get out there and shovel. Stay warm, stay safe and God Bless.

Getting ready

Yesterday morning I made it to Denver a few minutes after 7am and was back on the road 15 minutes later. This put me home a few minutes after 9am. Good to have my truck back and get that out of the way before most people were at work.

Tonight another little snowstorm is coming in. We didn’t get any snow the other day, but the temperature dropped into the single digits and below zero, depending on the time of day.

Lori and I are out of here in 20 minutes to workout. Then we’ll be working from home for the day and taking it easy. I’m going to try to get her in for a massage or some acupuncture to try and ger her some relief. I think Pilates whacked her out a bit. Looks like zero degrees right now outside so time to go.

Have a great day, support your Country and the President! The loonies are coming out trying to spin and discredit every move he makes. Right now, they’re for not arresting murders and rapists that are her illegally, go figure.

God Bless and have a great weekend.

3 Hours!

Wind, snow squalls, sun and clouds, all framed the day. The big story was it took Lori 3 hours to get home last night! The drive should have taken an hour and on top of the delay, she couldn’t leave work for about an hour after she was ready to go. That’s because the highway at Copper Mountain was closed. When it opened, everyone was routed up through Leadville and then down to Minturn. This was because there was another accident blocking the highway, just west of Vail. So overall, a real mess.

This morning, at 5:30, I’m off to pick up my truck in Denver that my service advisor amazingly got fixed! With luck, I’ll be back in Vail by 9 or 9:30. Lori has to be at the office by then for some research project.

Tonight I’ll get together with the guys for cigars. Looks like weather is coming in over the weekend. It’ll be good to get my truck back.

President Trump is on a roll. Don’t be fooled by the petty tricks and slander coming from the sore losers. I can’t believe they are trying to stop the administration from arresting and deporting illegal aliens that have committed crimes. Take note of that!

Time to get on the road. Have a great day and God Bless.

Dead stop

I made it to Denver around 8 to drop my truck off. 15 minutes later I was in a loaner and off to run my errands. Turns out my truck has a bad Def pump inside the Def tank and of course, GM is out of stock. They gave me a different loaner and I headed home. It could be a matter of days, or maybe even weeks, until they can fix it. I might just switch back over to one of the new Suburban’s. We’ll see. The upside of the burb is they’re great for road trips. Sometimes with a truck you don’t have enough space for people or things you don’t want to put in the back. I’ll decide in the next few days. My dealer is really good to me (should be, we’ve bought over 25 vehicles over the years) and are giving me a large discount.

Lori is in Frisco today, and of course, it’ll be snowy and windy. That always happens on Frisco day. We might get a little snow up here but in Denver on Friday night and the weekend, they could get up to six more inches. There was a lot more snow down there than up here yesterday.

Trump is moving fast and wasting no time. Yesterday, Softbank, Oracle and Open AI and their founders, pledged $500 Billion dollars to invest in AI with the Country. All three men said they couldn’t and wouldn’t have done this if President Trump hadn’t won. The President has brought in over $3 Trillion dollars of investment for the Country in a day and a half in office. Criminals are already being rounded up and arrested too. This is great news. Don’t fall for the sob story the news will show you when they find (or stage) one person, crying with a child, or something like that, to try to spin the truth. Many people we know, along with us, are so excited for our Country once again. There’s hope and optimism in the air and things are going to get better fast. Embrace the ride.

Hope everyone is well. Wonder how Tom and Holly’s new puppy is doing. I need to give him a call as it’s been a few days since we talked. We’re really happy for them, but especially for him, now having someone in his life!

That’s it, time to get moving, make it a great Wednesday and God Bless.

Headed out

I hope to be on the road in 30 minutes which will be about 5:50am. Need to get the truck serviced, pick up some wine, get a haircut and stop at the cigar shop. With luck, I’ll be home by 2 or so.

Great day yesterday! The new administration is off to a fast start. Of course the media is picking apart anything they can from Jeff Bezos wife’s and Melania’s outfits to anything else they can, by distorting and twisting words, and images. No one should be surprised as this will continue as they have nothing else. What people should be talking about is Biden preemptively pardoning his entire family, Fauci, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Milley, and the entire J6 committee! Unprecedented and flat out wrong! Innocent people don’t need pardons! The people have spoken and everything President Trump is doing is what we voted for. Bring it on!

Ty and Lori are both working today. Ten days left in January. Soon Spring will be here. They say March is our snowiest month, but it can also be warm. Time to get moving so I can get out of here on time. It has to be below zero outside right now but should warm up to the 30’s and 40’s today, here and in Denver.

Don’t let your guard down as people, foreign and domestic, could take advantage of the switchover in power. God Bless

A New Dawn

Today it’s out with the old, in with the new. Thank God. We’re hoping for some fast action to start fixing things. We’re hoping the President makes it a point to focus on Colorado too as we need things here to change immediately. Wish we could get rid of our Governor and the Mayor of Denver. That would go a long way to fixing things. I do think they’ll get voted out in the next election.

I was headed to Denver today but will wait until tomorrow due to the snow. Great football games yesterday with little to no ref interference. What a concept! Davy came over to watch the Bills and Ravens. Lori made soup again which was a perfect accompaniment for the weather. Tomorrow it’ll be warming up. Looks like below zero in Denver right now. Not sure what it is up here.

Ty works this morning. I’ll drop him some work clothes on the way to the gym. Lori is working in Vail. We have a dusting of snow outside, just enough to cover the windshield.

My foot seems to be pretty much all better. Robi told me she had surgery a few years ago for what I had. Never knew that, not sure how we missed it. Now we just need to get rid of Lori’s headache. She thinks it’s from pecans but I’m not so sure. I’m pretty sure she needs another fusion for a couple discs below the ones that were fixed ten years ago. We’ll see.

Time to get moving. Lori is still sleeping. Have a great inauguration day and raise a glass to the end of 4 years of people deliberately trying to destroy our Country and way of life. No matter what you think of Trump, common sense is back, and for that, we’re thankful. God Bless.

One more day!

Tomorrow things change, and it’s about time. President Trump and policies that our Country were founded on, are back! Thank God. How anyone can think the past four years have been good for our Country is beyond me. This was a point in history that will define the United States forever. If Biden or Harris or the Democrats would have won, our downfall would have been irreversible. I do believe God honestly saved us and our Country, and probably the entire World. There will be tough times ahead, cleaning up the mess made, but we will survive. History will not be kind to those that did what they did, and they know it. It’s still beyond me how anyone could have done some of the things that happened over the past four years. Thank God for his divine intervention.

Ty made it home around 1 yesterday. He went straight to Madi’s and I think slept all day. I guess they were out all night long until around 7 yesterday morning. Only thing I can say about that is, he’ll always remember his 21st birthday! Glad he had a blast (his words) and everyone was safe.

Lori made this incredible creamy chicken soup. I ate most of it watching two football games, so I think she’s making more of it today. Speaking of football games, one was predictable, and one was an upset. The Chiefs won of course, once again, thanks to the refs, while the Redskins (some people call them the Commanders) shocked the World beating the Lions who everyone had favored to at least, be in the Super Bowl. Two personal foul calls on the Texans absolutely changed the Chiefs game and the Texans out played them by every measure. It’s so unfair and not even worth watching them anymore. In the end, it’s only a game so I’m not letting it upset me. Thank God we weren’t playing them, or it’d take a while to get over it.

No snow up here and it’s actually not that cold. The brunt of the system is east of the mountains, down in Denver. The further west Ty drove towards home, the better the weather became.

Lori is still sleeping. She needs it as her head has been hurting her bad. Hopefully she’s a little bit better this morning. Jag and I were texting back and forth during the games. That’s it. More football today and more soup! Be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Nothingburger

The way they talked, you would have thought that we moved deep into the mountains of Alaska. Up here we have a dusting of snow and it’s about 18 degrees. Denver is below zero, but come on people, it is January. What do you expect?

Ty had a great birthday and hit the town with his friends. He’s getting a little more sleep before heading out for home. Around 3 yesterday I dropped Lori for a massage at the Westin. I picked her up around 4:45 and then we watched the rest of one of our new favorite series, America Primeval. It’s on Netflix. Robi, you and Bobby would love it. It’s pretty realistic.

Lori is making some chicken soup today for the games. I think they start around 2:30. We’re glad Ty had a good birthday. He even won $150 at the casino in Blackhawk! Good news is he quit while he was ahead and walked with his winnings! Most people don’t do that.

Lori is still dealing with her headache. We may have to bite the bullet and get her another surgery. Not sure what else to do at this point. I’ll try getting her to a different climate for a vacation. Maybe lower elevation and some humidity will help.

Here’s our guy. We always forget that both boys are actually adults. At 21 and 23, they’re, as Jagger likes to say, grown ass men, ha. Think about it, guys playing football and basketball you watch on tv are 20, or 22 years old! Hard to believe. As a parent, you still think they’re much younger than they really are. Funny how that works, but they really are grown men now. I remember the days of Viet Nam when 18-year-olds were going to war! So hard to comprehend. Time flies.

Have a great day, Go Texans and God Bless.
