More golf

Yesterday around noon, Lori and I went to hit a couple bags of balls. Today at 11, we have our first lesson. Should be fun!

Tax Day Monday, ugh. Rough year, as they keep changing things, which basically means we just always pay more and get less. Anyone who voted democratic can’t complain though, as you get what you voted for. I think those of us that didn’t vote democratic, shouldn’t have to pay, ha! Oh and Biden just circumvented the Supreme Court again, to try to buy some more votes by forgiving more student debt. That’s something like 15 billion now. What he doesn’t tell you, is the rest of us now have to pay that! So if you didn’t get an email saying your debt has been forgiven, you’re one of the lucky ones who will be paying some person’s debt that he wiped out to try to earn their vote. Someone has to pay it and remember, the government has no income, except for taking money from the people.

Afternoon rain showers are forecasted between now and the end of the month. Spring showers bring May flowers! Nice yesterday with temps in the mid 70’s!

Our great Eagle County Sherrif Dept. took 43 pounds of cocaine off the street yesterday with a traffic stop at 5:30am right by Costco! They’re really good at knowing who to pull over as they get a lot of drug dealers trying to pass through the county. Good for them. That’s a lot of blow!

Not sure what we’ll do this afternoon. For now, it’s off to the gym! Have a great weekend. God Bless.

TGIF

Going to be warm up here today, somewhere in the 70’s! Still waiting on our accountant to find out exactly how much we have to fork over on Monday, for absolutely nothing! The govt. will rake in over $6 Trillion in taxes and are still raising them on all of us. What a joke.

I think Lori and I are going to go hit some balls today. I’m switching up my workouts to less weights and more cardio and stretching for a while.

Ty is off for the next few days as he was going to California but ended up not going due to the cost of the plane ticket. We had cigar night last night with five of us. Good time as usual.

We might head to Denver tomorrow morning to look for a Kentucky Derby dress for Lori. Something fun to do.

We’re excited about golf, but as I said, going to go hit some more balls before we go all in. It’s not a cheap sport. A complete club set up with everything including a bag and all the clubs and stuff cost around $2K minimum, probably more like $3K. Then of course, you need to have a place to play. Our course is a great course, right out our backdoor, but it’s like $5K for the season for the family but that does include unlimited tee times and a cart pass for the year. Country clubs in Denver are well over $100K to join! We have some courses up here closer to Vail that are over $250K to join! There has to be some angle or opportunity to form some kind of company to make things easier and less expensive in the golf business. How about an app that shows left over open tee times 24 hours ahead of time at a discounted rate? This way those that can go with little to no notice get a deal and the clubs fill up their empty spots? Just thinking out loud.

The cleaners came yesterday so the house is all nice and clean. 6:20am and time to go to the gym. Need to roll out the trash first. Have a great day, stay safe and God Bless.

Golfing

Yesterday, as you know, James, Addy, Lori and I went to the range to hit some balls. Addy was doing her best to give the three of us our first lesson. We started with warming up stretches, stance, grip, etc. Surprisingly, we did really well! I was smacking the ball a couple hundred yards straight down the middle, just like Happy Gilmore! Lori, of course, did amazing too as she’s a natural athlete, always has been. Looks like Lori and I have a new sport. We might join the Senior Tour! Bwaaahhh. Lori was excited that she can now go buy some cute little golf dresses. After 90 minutes at the range, we all went for lunch. Fun time. It’ll be great as the four of us now have a thing to do to get outside.

I’m sure we’ll be a little sore today, but we’ll head back to the gym. We both worked legs yesterday with my trainer so today I’ll probably just take it easy. Ty works today and then has the next three days off. Lots of drama at his work. He’s going to get a new job in the Village at a high-end restaurant where he can make good money. I’d prefer working days, but being 20 years old, he doesn’t mind working nights.

Still waiting to hear what our taxes are going to be. Probably not going anywhere in May for a family trip, just too expensive right now. We’ll see. Of course we are in Sacramento for Dixie’s service in early May.

Lori and I almost were going to get tattoo’s this weekend as James is flying his guy in from L.A. They have him super busy though, so we’ll wait until next time. We weren’t getting anything huge, just something fun. We’ll see. You never know.

5:44am now, time to get moving. Make it a great day. We’ll probably have cigar night tonight, although I’ve be abstaining as I probably had four last week. Even if I don’t smoke, I’ll still go. But now that I’m a professional golfer, I have to think about my swing. (not sure how that matters, ha) Tom did say he’d dust off his clubs so we’re going to make a point of going down and going golfing with Tommy!

Have a great Thursday, God Bless.

Going fast

Talked to Tom yesterday and as of 10am or so, his power was still out! Think that’s like 4 days! Just imagine if power was out for an extended period of time. Not sure any of us would handle that well. I’m sure generator sales will be going up in Denver after last week.

It’s another Wednesday. The days and weeks are going fast. That happens when we get older. Cloudy outside, but no rain or snow. We might get a little of one or the other, but nothing much.

We’re headed back to the gym in an hour or so. We bought a table at the Kentucky Derby party on Lori’s birthday. James, Addy, Lori and I are going so far. Waiting to hear if Marty and Mel will be here, otherwise we’ll take Eleni and Ben. The table seats six. Should be fun as the girls will get to play dress up big time.

Kids are well. Jag has about one month left and then is done for the summer. Time for a cup of coffee. Have a great Wednesday and God Bless.

Still here

No eclipse here, just another day. We saw a few images on the news, but we still would not have traveled for the 3-to-5-minute spectacle. To each their own.

I made it back to the gym and feel a whole lot better today. We’re figuring out what to do for Lori’s birthday. I think Addy, James, Lori and I are going to a Kentucky Derby party at the Aspen Polo Club over in Carbondale. Marty and Melanie might come if they’re not in Tahiti. They had bought tickets as their oldest was going to get married but can’t as he doesn’t have the right paperwork from Canada where his longtime girlfriend lives. Long story. After the derby the plan is for us all to go stay the night in Aspen.

There is a cool show on PBS which honors Elton John. You should watch it if you can. James played it a couple weeks ago and told us all about it, pretty wild stuff. James and Addy look great and were in the front row. The cameras always pan on him at these things.

It’s 5:26 now as we woke up at 5. We’ll head to the gym soon.

Today we join California as the only other State to report to the govt. any firearm or ammo purchases made with a credit card, nice. We’re seriously thinking about moving. So sad to see Colorado turn into California. People better wake up as the Country is headed in the wrong direction. Arizona and Montana are tops on the list. We’d like to consider Florida but just can’t go that far east.

Time to get moving, have a great Tuesday, God Bless.

Total eclipse

Today we have the total eclipse. Next one is in 20 years. People are driving from all over to get to a State where they can see it. We’re not sure why. For all the people who went to Texas, looks like cloud cover all day. Think it happens a bit after noon our time.

Second up, lots still without power in Denver. I think Tommy is still one of them, according to Robi. Having no power sucks, but hopefully most people are prepared for it. The govt. sure won’t help you. Power outages are one of the most basic things to prepare for.

Last, today is Dixie’s 93 birthday! Lori spent all day long going through pictures getting ready for the big celebration coming up in May. Kristin and her are putting together a photo montage for the party.

I’m bouncing back from the weekend. Think I’ll hit the gym this morning. Warming up up here this week. Time to get the wasp traps hung up outside. That’s it, take care, have a great week and God Bless.

Aye matey

Ok, apparently I have a black eye this morning and look like a pirate! I’m feeling better but still kicking my stomach bug with Pepto Bismol, water with Pedialyte and a few pieces of toast. Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be back to normal. Think I’ll have some scrambled eggs and toast in a few.

Lori might go to the gym, but I’m not sure if I’ll go. Not much else to share as I was in bed all day. No snow, and no bad winds either. Guess the front range has been getting hammered.

Have a great Sunday. Hard to believe we’re a week into April. God Bless.

Late

Sorry for the delay. We had a great dinner last night but I ate something bad, as this morning, I had food poisoning. I was so dehydrated that I passed out coming out of the bathroom and then Lori found me on the floor in the hall. I somehow cut my hand and my ear of all things.

It’s 1 in the afternoon now and I don’t think I’m eating today. I’m a little sore in a few spots but it doesn’t seem like I broke anything. Must be because I go to the gym all the time.

More from the day, but I’m not up for it right now. Lori is doing Ty’s laundry. He’s at work. Word to the wise, don’t eat bad potato salad! God Bless.

Dinner

Quick trip to Denver yesterday. It was 74 degrees when we left town around 11am. After a quick stop at Edwards Meats, we were home by 1:30. Later in the afternoon, a bunch of us guys got together for cigars.

Ty is already out the door as he works at 7. Lori and I will head to the gym after a bit. We’re having steaks tonight along with baked beans, and probably Lori’s famous potatoes from a recipe from Vincent’s in Phoenix. We call it potato crack. She might make her Basque cheesecake too. Whatever she does, it’ll be good.

It’s Dr. B’s birthday today! Lori is trying to figure out what to take to him in the OR.

More shootings in Denver. Shouldn’t surprise anyone. Someone needs to sue the administration for letting all these people, who a high percentage of commit crimes, into the Country. You have to attack the only thing they understand, their money. Sadly we’re now not just locking our doors at night but also setting our alarm when we sleep. Everyone I know is frustrated with either the economy, the crime, the high taxes, the loss of rights, increased regulations limiting our freedoms, and more. I could go on for a while. It’s unfathomable what this administration has done to our Country in such a short amount of time. I can’t believe anyone would vote for any democrat at this point. And oh, one dem in Northglenn, down in Denver, showed up drunk at the public meeting last night. Of course she’s now playing the victim. You can’t make this shit up.

At cigar night, we talk a lot about all the crap going on and are all saddened by the current state of things. We’re all old enough to remember the good old days. It’s getting to a tipping point we all agree. Not sure what’s going to happen, but everyone from teachers to construction workers, to business owners and even legal immigrants, are fed up. God save us.

Trash day so time to get moving, 6:45 now. Seriously looking at real estate in Arizona and/or Montana. Trying to figure out how and where to retire. Have a great day, stay safe and God Bless.

Warm weather

It’s going to be in the mid 70’s in Denver today! It might get to 70 up here too. We were close yesterday. We have a rain/snow mix coming in this weekend, but we are nearing the end. It was so nice yesterday, I ended up getting some sun while playing with Harley outside.

Lori had a late day, arriving home around 7:30. She has a dermatology appointment at 9:30 this morning so I decided to go with her. We’ll stop at Edwards and pick up some good meat for dinner tomorrow night with Marty and Melanie.

Tom and I were talking yesterday about taxes. We were trying to figure out how many people we’re each paying taxes for. Old Joe says pay your fair share. For us that means we’re paying for maybe a couple hundred people each, as with half the Country paying zero, it’s easy to do the math. Nice that we’re penalized for working hard our whole life to make money so we can now pay for a bunch of people that either don’t work at all or shouldn’t even be here in the first place. Taxes go up every year and it seems we get less and less for paying them each year. Gotta love it.

Ty works at 8. Not sure if we’re having cigar night tonight or not, probably. Lori and I should be home between 1 and 2. Hopefully she can get some sun today. She loves laying out for 20 minutes when she can.

Time to jump in the shower. Make it a great day. God Bless.
