Today we have lots to do around here. This morning after the gym, I’m putting some buffalo ribs in which will take about 6 hours. Marty is coming over this afternoon. The Nuggets are on at 6:30 or so. Sure would be nice to win the game tonight.
Ty and Sonny cooked dinner over at Sonny’s last night. Jag went to the Westin with Lexi and then went to the gym. I was going to get a new truck as one came in for me but the rates are just too high right now. No way I’m paying 6% which is a good rate these days.
Lori worked out yesterday with Brent, my trainer, and is super sore. Four days until we head to Hawaii. We can’t wait. It’s getting really green up here and the sky is pretty blue. Guess it’s foggy and smokey in Denver. They’ve had a lot more rain than we have. Not really smokey up here either.
Both boys are sleeping. Time for the gym. All the laundry is done, at least from the stuff they brought home. Jagger needs to clean his room. Ty’s is pretty good. Lori and I need to clean our closets. Time to go, go Nuggets, God Bless.
Another day, more progress. We’re almost through unpacking the boys, made headway at work on some stuff, picked up Ty, and the Nuggets won, grabbing their second of four needed wins to go to the NBA finals.
Ty and I made it home by 1. After that and some work around the house, I headed to James to meet Mark, Marty and James Rush for a cigar. Lori went to Adriana’s for Everett’s grad party. I met the guys early so we could leave by 6 to all make it home for the 6:30 game.
It was a great game. We hung in there and were sort of off for the first three quarters but then took over in the fourth to win the game. It was an epic performance.
This morning Lori and I are headed to the gym and then I’m helping Marty put the frame for his Grand Canyon raft on his truck. That’s his 18 foot long raft which he needs to take to raft the Dolores River down by Cortez next week. I guess a guy died last week and everyone is switching to larger boats as there’s so much water from the run off. As I said the other day, it’s a big year with all the snow we had. Personally I wouldn’t go anywhere near any river right now but I get it.
Jag went to see Lexi last night. She’s his best friend and they’ve talked every day since high school. Lexi just got back from college in Vermont. Ty spent the night at Sonny’s.
No rain up here but Denver has been getting pounded. Toby’s basement flooded yesterday and Luke’s did the day before. Tom said it was raining again last night too. Water is good but we’ve had a ton of rain in Colorado this month, like 5 times normal.
Only a load or two of laundry left. I’m off to Denver to pick up Ty as soon as I shower. Hope to be on the way back by 10 so we beat the rain and are home by noon. Yesterday I worked out for 2 hours! I’m switching things up and taking every other day off as I haven’t been giving my body enough time to recoup.
James texted me during the night, “wake me a 1”. He then texted sorry as obviously that was meant for someone else, ha. Adriana is having a small graduation get together at 6 tonight. I told Lori that’s smack dab in the middle of cigar night and the Nuggets start at 6:30. Lori will probably go and I’ll be down the street with the guys at James house.
Marty was at his storage unit yesterday afternoon so he came over and hung out with Jag and I for a bit. He had to get his oars for one of his river rafts as he’s going down the Dolores River next week. It’s running at 4000 cfs (cubic feet per second) and is down by Cortez in southern Colorado. That’s a lot of water and it’s usually not this high. Marty is an excellent river raft guide and has been down the Grand Canyon multiple times. He has 3 rafts.
A little cloudy outside but was in the mid 70’s yesterday, super nice. Time to get moving, make it a great day, God Bless.
Yesterday I dropped Ty around 9 and headed straight to Phoebe’s for my haircut. Then it was off to meet Luke and grab some groceries before heading home. I made it home around 1. Tomorrow I’ll get Ty after meeting Toby.
At 6:40, the game started. We jumped out early but knew they would make a push. It came in the 4th quarter but thankfully we handled it. There’s a reason these two teams are among the best 4 left. Big game tomorrow.
Lori is in Frisco today and I’m off to the gym. A week from today we’re headed to the islands. James first of eight shows is in Paris tonight. It’s 2:15 in the afternoon there right now.
Jag made some progress on his stuff yesterday but today he and I will go through the rest. Time to get moving. Had a little rain here yesterday but nothing bad. Rain tomorrow in Denver. I hope to get down and up by noon, God Bless.
Jag and I pulled into Boulder at 9:30. I was hoping to be out and on the road in 30 to 60 minutes. As soon as he opened the door, I knew that wasn’t going to happen. Although most of the furniture was gone. there was crap everywhere. Cupboards and the fridge were still full and clothes and trash covered most of the floor. All I could do after assessing the situation, was get to work. 2 1/2 hours later, we were done and on the road. I filled up the truck, inside and out, and after grabbing a gyro in Golden, we were home around 2:30.
The rest of the day was spent doing laundry. And it doesn’t look like I did any! I told both boys they have to go through their clothes and make a pile of anything they don’t wear or that doesn’t fit. Ty put a lot away as his stuff has been home for a few days and Jag has a lot to do today.
Ty and I are leaving by 6am for Lakewood as I have an appointment to have the cameras on the truck fixed. I’m also getting a haircut at 11 and then am meeting my buddy Luke on the way home. After dropping Ty and hitting the dry cleaner, I’m stopping to see Dave, our gold guy, to grab another ounce. I try to get one or two a month just as a hedge.
Lori works in Vail today. I think I broke my finger yesterday when unloading the truck. I hyper extended it and it’s pretty swollen. It’s the middle finger on my right hand, ugh. The Nuggets are on tonight, hope we win!
Keep buying food and anything else you use on a regular basis. Don’t let up, we’re a long way from things getting better. In fact, it’s going to get much worse before they get better!
This morning Jag and I are headed to Boulder to get the last few things out of his apartment. Hope to be down and up by lunch time. Yesterday was a good day. Lori had a nice morning and then had a good massage. She took the boys down to see Dixie as Dix didn’t want to come up. I watched the Celtics crush Philadelphia and the fake MVP.
Looks like afternoon showers every day this week, especially in Denver. We’re all excited for Hawaii. Jack took the day off and stayed up here with us and he and Ty have been hanging out. He works tomorrow so he’ll probably head out sometime today.
I went over to Mark’s and visited while Lori had her massage. We joined the Westin for the summer to use their pool. That’s what Lori wanted for Mothers Day. They also have a spa and gym we can use but we mainly join for the pool. It’s a salt water pool which is really nice. In the middle of summer it’s really crowded though with all the tourists.
6:15 now so time to get Jagger up and moving. Hope to be on the road by 7 which probably won’t happen but I’m going to try. Halfway through May, time flies. Have a great day, God Bless.
Happy Mothers Day to Lori and to all the other mothers out there. It’s a well deserved day as mothers do have the toughest job. Not only do they have to do most of the dirty work, you know, diapers, to laundry to dishes and cleaning and more, but they also have to handle the emotional and mental stress of their children. I’m not discounting dads but Moms just seem to not only care more, but carry it more. I think the difference is they put more on themselves. Often they second guess how they raised their kids and are blinded by momentary lapses of judgement by their offspring which takes away from the overall amazing job they do just by unconditionally being there and loving their children. They always put their kids ahead of themselves and all others and that can take a toll on anyone. God had a master plan when he made mothers and like anything he does, it just works. So today, do something special for your mom. Call her or if she’s no longer physically with you, talk to her and thank her and say a prayer for her, she deserves it and much more.
At 10am yesterday we headed to Dixie’s to meet Rick, Dixie’s nephew and his son Dan who drove up for a visit. They stayed 2 hours and it was a really good visit. Dixie did really well. Her long term memory is much better than her short term.
Later in the afternoon Jagger showed up! We unloaded him and started more laundry. I’ll bet between the two of them, we’ll do 20 loads in the next few days, maybe more. I went to James around 4 for a few hours to hang out as he’s leaving for Paris today and will be back probably around June 20th as his last show over seas is in Sweden on June 18th. They have 8 shows over there in four cities. I headed home around 7 and Ty, Jack and Sonny were about 30 minutes behind me. Once they arrived we unloaded Jacks truck and started more laundry. The boys then all hung out, threw back a couple twelve packs of beer and played Play Station all night. This morning Jack will head back to Denver and Sonny will head home to his house in East Vail. Hard to believe they’re all 19 and 20 years old.
Lori has a massage at noon at the Westin and then we’ll hang out at home. She planted half a dozen plants yesterday afternoon and then we watched a movie between the boys arrival and laundry. It’s nice outside right now with blue skies and patchy clouds but no rain. Tomorrow am Jagger and I will head to Boulder to get the last of his stuff out of his apartment.
Lori and I are headed to the gym right now. Happy Mothers Day mom! Although a little grainy, this is one of my favorite pictures! She’s like a movie star who was caught off guard, sure miss her! I like the jeans hanging behind her on a hanger too, mom always hung our jeans so she wouldn’t shrink them, ha. Enjoy the day and God Bless.
Yesterday the boys successfully renewed their passports. Everything went without a hitch. I then met them at Ty’s and loaded up most of his stuff. He has to be out by 10am this morning.
Ty and Jack are headed to Boulder today to move Jagger’s bed, dresser and desk to Tommy’s. He’s letting us store them in his basement for a few weeks until Jag moves into his new place. Maybe the stuff can fit in his garage or storage room off the laundry room. Might be easier. Jag needs to be out by Monday so he has some work to do too. Both boys and Jack are then coming up tonight. Looks like they’ll both be here until after we get back from Hawaii at least. No point in us subletting a room for Jag with us gone the last 8 days of the month and Ty can’t move in until about June 10th. It’ll be good to have them home for a few weeks and then good to have them leave, ha!
Lori and I are off to the gym this morning. Jeff and Tina are having a party for Schultz’s birthday today but we just can’t make the drive.
The deer ate one of Lori’s new geraniums last night, she is pissed off! James leaves tomorrow for his 8 shows in Europe which take about six weeks. Mostly sunny up here with a few clouds but no rain.
The border is a mess with Title 42 ending and there’s crickets coming from the White House. What the hell are they doing and how and why are people putting up with this crap. Everyone needs to write and call your representative’s now. Even NBC news last night reported how tens of thousands of illegals (their words) are flooding into the Country and being shipped all over. Even if you’re sympathetic and want to let people in, our economy and infrastructure can’t handle it. And that’s assuming everyone getting in is a good person which we know is not the fact. Things need to change now. What a mess.
That’s it, have a great day. Mothers Day tomorrow! Sure miss my Mom, God Bless.
I’m off in an hour for another trip to Denver to load up hopefully, all of Ty’s stuff. Jag is picking Ty up at 8:30 and heading to the passport office to get their passports renewed. I dropped all the paperwork with Jag yesterday when my truck was getting serviced. Jag, Tommy and I went to breakfast also.
Tomorrow, Ty’s friend Jack and Ty will move Jagger’s stuff! I’m paying them and Jack has a long bed truck which will make it easier, and then I don’t have to drive down again, whoo hoo!
We had cigar night last night with about six of us. James leaves Sunday so it was good for us to all get together. We watched most of the Celtics game and when I arrived home, I caught the last 10 minutes. Then it was game time, Phoenix vs. Denver. It was all fun. We jumped out about halfway through the first quarter and never looked back. Three of our four wins against them were blowouts and the fourth, we won by double digits. Now we get to rest until next Tuesday. I remember when Phoenix got Kevin Durant, everyone said they were now the favorites to win not only the Western Conference but the NBA Championship. Guess nobody told the Nuggets!
Lori will stay here today as she has to work and I need all the room in the truck I can get. Dry up here but in Denver it’s still raining with lots of flooding on the roads. We’ll take all the water we can get though so it’s fine. Soon it’ll stop.
Off to Denver in 45 minutes, hope to be back by 3 or so. Crazy weather in Denver. I worked out twice yesterday and did some work around the house. At 3 I picked up James and we went and hung out at Mark’s house until 5:30. He’s our buddy who use to manage the 4 Seasons. He fell into a 7 foot deep window well at his house. He’s fine but has a bump on his head. Luca showed up as he just got back from the Formula 1 race in Miami. He showed us the menu down there and get this, nachos for four were $475! Casa Azul Tequila was $12,000 a bottle! Luca has a clothing store so Prada gave him a ticket. The top tickets were $38,000! Another World.
Lori will stay home today. That’s it, time to get moving, God Bless.
