Snow

Not much here, but enough to be a pain. Lori and I are both headed to Denver, although I think in separate cars. I’m leaving at 7 and Lori at 10. She has a 1pm appointment and one of us needs to be back in time to get Ty. We just talked though, and I think will try to just take one car, my truck. We’ll need to leave in 75 minutes though.

I need to meet Toby, go to the distributor and have another stop for Valentines Day. Can’t say where, because it’s a secret.

Big game coming up Sunday. Should be a fun time. Lots of people coming. Most are bringing something to eat, and we’ll use plastic plates and Solo cups so the cleanup is easy.

Time to get moving. My right hand is sore from lifting. I’ve had arthritis in it for a number of years. Getting old sucks, but as Clint Eastwood said, don’t let the old man in.

Have a great Wednesday, God Bless.

Staying put

No Denver today, maybe tomorrow or Thursday. I managed to get the wine picked up yesterday. Ty also didn’t make it, think we’re going down next Monday. After dropping the truck for service, I headed to get the wine, then Tony’s market and then stopped by Jeff and Tina’s. One more stop at the cigar shop to trade in some I bought that I didn’t like, and home I went.

I made it home by 1:15, unloaded the wine, and headed back out to meet Marty and Mark to hang out for a bit. Lori beat me home and fed Harley. Ty made it home around 8pm. He works at 8 this morning.

We’re having the Super Bowl party here. It’ll be fun as always. Looks like it’ll be a big crowd.

They say snow on Thursday, WTF? We’re through with the white stuff. Enough is enough, ha. That’s it, time to go, have a great Tuesday and God Bless.

Denver

Ty and I are headed down to Denver this morning to look for a car and switch his bank account. He’s been saving money up so we’ll see what we can find. I’m also getting the truck serviced.

Last night we had a fun time with Brian and Michelle who came up for dinner. They’re super nice and fun. Lori works in Vail today and will try to get back in to see Dr. Godin as her eyes are still bugging her. She’s on steroid drops and some other eye drops that are like a gel she says. Hope she gets well soon.

Tuesday I need to make another run down to the warehouse. Wish I could get all my stuff done Monday but the wine I need to get won’t be ready until Tuesday.

Super nice day yesterday, blue sky and almost 40 degrees. Snow was melting everywhere. We’re supposed to get another blast this weekend. Hope it’s not as heavy a snow as this one was.

That’s it, I need to pick Ty up in Eagle Vail at 7 so time to go. Have a great week and God Bless.

Good storm

The storm is over, but it brought a lot of good moisture. Guess it was the third wettest day of any February. In one day, we received more moisture than we average in the entire month. When I shoveled yesterday morning, the snow was so heavy and wet, that I had to do it in stages. Surprised my back isn’t killing me, or worse, this morning.

Last night when Ty was done with work, he decided to go stay with Madi so they could go boarding this morning. I was already up valley, so Lori brought his stuff and we met at Hovey, (his job) and dropped his stuff off. Then we headed home.

This morning we’ll head to the gym and then tonight our neighbors are coming up for dinner. Mark and I hung out for a bit. I need to drop some wine to him today that he’s giving to a close friend who owns 42 restaurants Worldwide.

Jag is doing well. Ava’s mom is coming in this morning for a few days. The girls are going to a spa today and then the three of them will go to dinner tonight. I’m in Denver the next couple days so maybe I’ll get to meet her.

James texted last night and Castor, his son, is coming with us antelope hunting. That’s great news as it’s been the four of us for the past 3 or 4 years. I told James, “great news, we now have the band back together” he replied “hell yeah”. Castor’s a good kid and it’s always fun to have him along. Happy for James that he can come. Can’t wait until next October.

Time to shovel! Not much out there but enough for me to get after it. Have a great Sunday. One week until the Super Bowl. Looks like we’re having the party here. More on that to come, God Bless.

Snow

Yesterday afternoon around 5, it started coming down. We don’t have a lot at the house, maybe 3 inches, but it’s a slushy snow that is really heavy. High water content. That’s good for us, but a huge mess. It took Ty and I about twice as long to get home last night. We’ll leave 15 minutes early or so this morning. Hope the worst of it is over. It’s warm outside right now at 6 am, probably 32 degrees.

I bought a huge pork roast yesterday and Lori is making pork green chili today. Tomorrow we’re having Brian and Michelle, our neighbors, up for dinner. Not much else going on unless you want to talk about the state of the Country and the endless harm Biden is doing to us. They’re hoping it’s just the new normal and that we’ll all get used to a bad economy, millions of illegals, and more and more restrictions on our freedom. They have the gall to tell us everything is fine and actually better these days. Guess that’s all they can do. I mean, what are they going to say, hi, we are destroying the Country on purpose! I don’t think that’d work. Unbelievable, enough said.

Stock up, be safe, and stay strong, as this is far from over.

Make it a great Saturday, God Bless.

Groundhog Day

Snow is coming, so they say. I’m sure they’re right, just am not sure about “how right”. Hopefully in Eagle, we’ll get a few inches, and not the foot some people say. Whatever it is though, is fine. We can always use the moisture.

Lori had her eye doctor appointment yesterday and she’s fine. She has a bad case of dry eye and today we’ll pick up some steroids to help out. She had blurry vision for about a week. Apparently it’s quite common up here as it’s so dry, and the cold weather makes it even drier.

We slept until 7 so time to get moving. We should be on the road in 11 minutes but it’ll probably be more like 20. Have a great weekend, God Bless.

February

Here we go, good news is it’s 60 days until April! That’s when Spring should begin up here. Hopefully the next two months won’t be too bad.

Ty works at 8 and I have a call at 10. Lori has a doctor appointment at 3:45 and I’m getting together with the guys at 4:30 for a cigar. I met up with Mark yesterday and we had a smoke on his back patio early afternoon.

Jag is digging his internship and his classes. That’s good to hear. We’re still deciding what to do this summer. 6:06 am now. Lori has been getting up early and I have this sixth sense that wakes me if she’s not in bed. I had a good workout yesterday, chest and legs. I’m sure I’ll be sore tomorrow.

That’s it for the day, make it a great first day of February and God Bless.

January 31st

Lasy day of January, also Mom’s birthday! Miss her and think about her every day. February is coming in like a lion. They say we’ll get some snow in the next few days. Don’t think it’ll be much up here, but it’s still snow.

I made it down to Denver and home safe. There are 40,000 new illegal immigrants down there, as Denver chose to declare itself a sanctuary city. Hindsight is 20/20. They’re all regretting it now, from New York to Chicago to Denver. Guess it sounded good in theory, but in practice, not so much. Funny thing is all these cities complaining are facing just a smidgen of what Texas is going through. Mom used to say smidgen all the time. I sure hope we get rid of Biden and the Democrats this year. If not, I’m afraid we might not come back as a Country.

Ty works at 8 and after I drop him, I’ll go to the gym. Lori works in Vail today. I might hang out with James for a bit this afternoon. He was at a photo shoot in Denver yesterday. I told him to have fun, if that sort of thing is fun, he said they’re so so.

I’m sticking to my intermittent fasting program and finally saw some more progress today. I was stuck at 208 due to working out so much but dropped to 206 this morning. I’m trying to lose fat and gain muscle so it’s sort of a stalemate. Enough of me, just want it documented.

Jag is doing well. He says his intern is fun. He has another for the summer that he wants to talk to us about.

That’s it for today, time to get moving, 6am. Have a great day and God Bless and be safe.

Warming up

It’ll be in the 60’s today in Denver, the 50’s up here. I’m off to the dentist at 9 and then am headed to Denver for a haircut. I know, it’s a long way to go for a haircut, but it’s hard to find a good barber these days. Besides, I’ve been going to the same person for 20 years.

Marty still has covid. He’s been down since last Friday. Lucky none of us at cigar night on Thursday picked it up. It’s just a cold, but he does test positive on those drug store covid tests. It’s certainly not the same covid as a few years ago. He’s super bored hanging out watching tv all day.

Ty works today. He had a good day on the mountain. We’re glad he’s outside as much as he is. He and Madi went boarding together.

James, Marty and I are going to Buffalo Wyoming in October, antelope hunting. We’re doing this instead of Alaska as James has four shows in Mexico City in September that conflict with the timing for Alaska. It’ll be fun. Hopefully we’re in Alaska next year! That’s the plan right now.

More melting today. Time to get moving. Make it a great Tuesday. God Bless.
