A Year of Change

We made it back around 7pm after cleaning the garage and doing a few other things around the house. Today I think we’re going for a hike. It was pretty warm in Denver and the boys had some good play time outside. We fell asleep pretty early last night and are all refreshed this morning. No Broncos today but we do need to get some Halloween costumes together for the party in 6 days. That’s about it, hope all’s well, God Bless.

We made it down last night around 5:30 and soon Ty was off with Ben and Jag with Katie. Lori’s friend Andrea came over and stayed until around 11pm visiting. This morning I’m on a call I organized which is a new men’s group and the we’re off to get Jag a haircut and then I’m cleaning the garage. That’s it, lots to do, so time to run, God Bless

Today is my little sister Robin’s birthday! Whoo hoo, party party! Hope it’s a good one. Your present from us is a few days late according to the shipper, sorry.

We finally have snow up here, not much but it’s a start. The top of the ski slopes and the pass (Vail) are getting a pretty good dose but not enough to open the ski areas just yet. No big as we haven’t been able to get the kids ski passes yet anyhow. Jag had dry land training again yesterday and all the kids were running in the rain/snow mix outside and then did some core work inside. It’s pretty darn hard.

Today we’ll grab them after school and head down to Denver until tomorrow night or Sunday morning depending how much work we get done on the house. Lori made it home around 7 pm last night as clinic ran late. I have a couple of conference calls today and then should be done.

This morning at 7, Lori has her first official sales meeting. She was working on it last night and has a bunch of ideas for making things more efficient and profitable. She’s only been there for about 10 weeks now.

I made it back from Denver by 1 in the afternoon and that included stopping for groceries. I loaded up 4 more boxes from the house that are still in the back of the truck. Tomorrow after work we’re headed down to Denver to work on cleaning out closets, dressers and the garage before the inspection on Monday. Say a prayer that we pass the inspection as then things should be pretty much a go.

Jag had his first dry land training yesterday with the Nordic Ski Team and it consisted of running up a mountain for 1 and 1/2 hours! Amazingly he made it and outlasted some other kids. There were some kids in high school that beat him but not many. He was tired and sweaty when I picked him up at 5:45 pm. Today he’ll be back at it at 4:15.

Guess I’ll run so I can get things started around here (breakfast and stuff) as Lori needs to leave early. It’s 5:28 now so time to run. Take care and God Bless.

At 6:30 this morning I’m headed down to Denver. There are lots of weather warnings but I haven’t seen much in my life that’d stop a trip. If though, it is that bad, I’ll turn around. Yesterday I managed to get 7 loads of laundry washed, dry’d and folded. Lori made it home a bit after 6:30 as she had a deposition after clinic.

Not much else going on, we have our house inspection next Monday, hope it all goes well. We’re debating whether or not to come down this weekend and clean out some closets and dressers. Lots of other stuff going on and I really need to make it down to make some money so I’m off, take care and God Bless.

It’s 6.53 which means we overslept by about an hour. Both kiddos are still in bed and we need to leave in an hour. Jag made it back to the school from soccer around 8:30 after playing in Denver. The game ended in a tie and that’s it for the season. I did manage to get him signed up for the Nordic Development Team yesterday which he starts tomorrow. The school is an actual school with the only difference being all the kids are aspiring winter athletes. One room was for the freestyle skiers and had two trampolines built into the floor and foam everywhere as that’s where the kids practice flips and other acrobatics. The school is older but the training facilities are the best available. This is where Lindsey Vonn (World record skier from Vail) came from and she still trains there and at our gym which is next door. Jag’s all excited which is good. It’s a stretch but you never know, he might just make the Olympics or something. Even if he doesn’t, it’s great for his mind and body.

I’m off to Denver tomorrow at 6:30 and hopefully back up by 2 or so. I have about 3 or 4 stops that I need to make and will try to do a little bit more around the house. It’s now 7 am so I need to run. Lori has clinic in an hour and I have employee reviews. Have a great day, God Bless.

Well it wasn’t pretty for the Broncos or the Packers but both teams won. No matter what you say, both teams are 6 and 0. Now both have the next week off and then they meet on Sunday Night Football. I’ll be going with some buddy’s but the kids and Lori will be staying home as it’ll be midnight before I get home. I’ll of course be cheering for the Bronco’s but am not sure about my Mom! Oh well it’s a good problem to have, no matter who loses, they’ll still be 6 and 1. Still hope the Broncos win.

We have a busy week up here and the cool weather is supposed to finally arrive, in Denver too! I’ll be down Wednesday for the day and Robin’s birthday is this Friday. Today Jag has his last soccer game in Denver I think at Kent, a private school.

Today we’re going to try to pay our last payment on our State taxes, whoo hoo. The damn on line system doesn’t work so I’ll have to sit on hold for an hour or so at least. This has been a 4 year process so good to get it finally paid off. Now the Fed’s are a different story, uggh, taxes suck.

This morning the Broncos play at 11 am and I’m going to try to get down to Denver and back up before they start. I need to put a check in the bank and also want to pick up another load of stuff that needs to come up here rather than the storage unit. If things proceed as planned we’ll have about 30 days to clean everything out of the house, which I just don’t know how I’m going to do. So I’d better start now. So the good news is we received an offer on our house, countered back and they accepted. In short, this should mean our house is sold but what it really means is it’s under contract. Now comes an inspection, the appraisal and a host of other technical steps that can make the deal fall apart at anytime. So yes we’re further along than we’ve been before but until we get the check, no celebration around here. Say a prayer that everything goes well. The cute young couple and their 3 boys are going back again today with the wife’s dad who flew in from Virginia last night. Apparently he also is the lender as he owns a mortgage company. They all go over to the house at 1 pm. Uncle Tommy, you should go over this morning and water any cracks in the back yard from it being so dry so they don’t freak out!

Today we have our last soccer game up here. Jag has one in Denver on Monday and then its nordic training, assuming I can get him signed up. Lots going on as I need to also get everything moved out of the house within like 30 days so we’re told.

Next up Lori wants to go for a family hike. She’s had a headache (super) for about a week. Hopefully we can kick that today. It’s 6 am now and there’s only two of us up and one of us walks on 4 legs. Guess I’ll run as the kitchens a mess. Keep your fingers crossed, have a good weekend, God Bless.

Yesterday we both made it down to Denver in separate cars by about 10:30. I was off to a work appointment and Lori was off to Dr R’s office to see the girls. We eventually met up around 2:30 at our house where I had just finished showing it to two different couples. Keep your fingers crossed as I think we might be getting close to a sale. My Mom always said “don’t count your chickens before they hatch” or something like that. In any case, until we get a deal and sign the papers and get the check, I’m not counting on anything!

At 4:15 I was off to Boulder for my wine event. It was in a cool old building with a bunch of Boulderites. It turned out to be a lot more fun than I had anticipated and I think we sold a lot of wine. I left around 7 and was back in Vail by 9 pm.

In an hour or so at 7:15 am we need to head off to school for the boys conferences. We’re so proud of them for doing so well. They say snow in the mountains (that means here) next Wednesday. Lori and I were talking that if or when we do sell our house, then the real work is going to start. We’re going to need to have a big estate sale to get rid of a bunch of stuff and we’d better do it soon or we’ll be doing it in the snow!
