Cold’s coming

Looks like a cold Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will still be cold, but nothing like the weekend. Guess it’s going to be well below zero. Not as bad up here as down in Denver. We wish Ty would postpone his birthday trip to Denver on Friday as we’re not sure he’ll be able to get back up here on Saturday. Maybe his friends can come up here.

I was down to Denver and back up home in good time yesterday. On the way home, I stopped for groceries. Lori works in Vail today and then tomorrow we’ll go pick up her car in Glenwood. I’ll drop her this morning and then go to the gym.

6am now. Nuggets and Av’s won last night. Two nice wins. That’s about it, time to get moving. Have a great day and get ready for the polar blast, God Bless.

Quick Trip

I’ll be in Denver by 8:30ish this morning to get the truck serviced. Hope to be headed back up the hill by 11 or so. Yesterday my lovely wife managed to get me in to see Dr. Elton about my foot. Turns out I have some nerve between my second and third toe that was causing me discomfort. He gave me some pads to put in my shoe and said it should calm down and go away. If not, I’ll get a steroid shot down the road. I’m sure I’ll be fine after a while. Just part of getting older.

Looks like it’ll be cold later this week, especially in Denver. Could be as cold as 15 or 20 below zero! Annette, you might want to come and visit, ha! Ty’s going down for his 21st birthday on Friday. He’ll celebrate with us Saturday. Then he’s going out up here Saturday night with some friends. I told him, he’d better pace himself!

Lori is in Edwards today and then Vail tomorrow. We’ll go get her car Thursday morning in Glenwood.

I’m looking for some property in Montana or Idaho. I think this is the way to go rather than outright buying a new house. Lori can then design a little cabin we can build on it while still living here. If we ever decide to move, we can then build a larger home on the property too. You can find a couple hundred acres, if you look in the right places, for as little as $300K. I should have jumped on 222 acres up by Flathead Lake for $329K I’d been watching. Time to get busy as we’re not getting any younger! I want to get some kind of stronghold or place outside of Colorado. I just don’t trust this State anymore. Plus, it’ll be fun for Lori. She’s a great designer. In fact, there’s not a whole lot she can’t do.

That’s it, time to move and groove. Have a great day and stay safe and God Bless.

Good times

Well, the game didn’t go how we hoped, but we had a great time with our friends. James, Addy, Davy, Abbey, Mark, Shelly, Clark and Ken, along with neighbors and friends Dea, Nate, their kids and Castor, James’s son, who were all here for two games, a ton of great food, and lots of fun. The weather was great with the sun shining outside enough to let us sit out there with no coats.

Harley was Harley, meaning barking and wanting to play all day long. Marty and Mel were flying back from Montana, so they missed the soiree.

Lori works in Vail this morning at 8:30, so I’ll be driving her once again. Her car should be ready tomorrow. I think I have a stress fracture on top of my left foot. I’ve probably had it for a good month and have just been dealing with it. I’ll get it checked out this week.

No new snow up here. It’s probably zero outside right now. It’s 14 degrees in Denver right now. Fires are still raging in SoCal. Castor flies back to LA today. He’s been here a couple weeks. We’re super happy for James as he had a great time having his son here for two weeks.

Four people stabbed with two dying in Denver over the weekend. The attacks were random around 5 in the afternoon. So, let me get this straight. You’re walking down the street in downtown Denver, on the highly lauded tourist destination known as the 16th Steet Mall, and you could be stabbed to death for no reason at all. What the fuck is going on? In Argentina, the citizens are praising Milei, their President, for lowering the age to own a gun so citizens can protect themselves. In Switzerland, it’s mandatory for all adults to own a gun. But here in Colorado, our Governor, and the Dems are proposing new laws to further restrict firearm ownership, and if he had his way, get rid of all guns. You don’t see this type of crime much in Texas as everyone is armed. And they have way more immigrants due to their proximity to the border. Colorado has to push back. I don’t think our Sherriff would enforce any new ban, but things are getting so bad here, (remember my post from the other day) that one really has to consider moving. We’re a microcosm of the Country as Polis (the Governor) has done to Colorado what Biden has done to the Country, just on a much smaller scale. Again, be aware of your surroundings and hope for the best but expect the worst.

Jag’s last semester starts today! Lots going on with work. I’m super busy and have a lot happening. All good stuff. 6:45am now so time to get moving. Have a great day, be well, stay safe and God Bless.

Game Day

Hoping to shock the World today. Of course no one is picking us to win, but that’s ok. Odds say we won’t, but you never know. If we don’t, we’ve still way overachieved this year and have lots to look forward to. Game starts at 11, Go Broncos!

6:40am and I just finished shoveling the driveway. Thought I’d get out there early and knock it out. Lori made chili, two kinds of lasagna, vegetarian and regular, cupcakes and a bunch of sides. Think we have a dozen or so friends coming over.

1000 miles west, people are still dealing with the fires and the loss of everything they own. The finger pointing has begun between the Fire Chief, LA’s Mayor and the loser Governor of California. Turns out the reservoirs were dry with no water in them. I told Lori to tell Kristin to get a high-end lawyer now and sue the city and State. In a few weeks California will still send out property tax notices expecting all these people with ashes for homes, to still pay, just watch. Oh, and in North Carolina, Fema was kicking people out of the temporary housing they’re in from the hurricane yesterday. They’ve now extended their stay until Tuesday, due to the outrage from social media. Biden also said they’ll provide 100% support to LA for six months clean up (that’s all they do) but they don’t do that for North Carolina. Guess there’s more Dems in LA than North Carolina. Wow, what a fucked up Country. Bring on Trump, only eight more days!

Lori is cleaning and getting ready. 11am is an early start. Time to get moving, have a great day and GO BRONCOS! God Bless.

A little snow

Yesterday afternoon Lori and I went for pedicures. This was my second one of these, in my whole life! With her car in the shop still, I didn’t want to drop her off and then either go home and go back, or hang out, so she suggested I join her. Now I could be a foot model!

A little snow outside. It’s still snowing lightly. I’ll shovel in a few minutes. Harley had her nails done yesterday too! The vet showed up at 9:30 and gave her a quick check up and trimmed her nails. Harley gets stressed out going to the vet.

Ty worked a party last night at work. He’ll be back at it this morning. Two football games today, and then the Bronco game tomorrow. Lori is making lasagna and chili for our mini watch party.

Fires are still burning in LA. Most, if not all, are human caused. I think it’s more likely terrorism than homeless people. Think about it, if you’re a sleeper cell or terrorist, would you rather shoot up a mall and take out half a dozen people, or burn down one of the, in their minds, most sinful cities in the World. LA is the epicenter, according to them, of everything they despise. One suspect already arrested, supposedly was an illegal immigrant and had five id’s. Not sure if this is verified, but on the surface, he did look like a foreigner.

Shit’s getting crazy. 9 more days until President Trump is in office, and we begin to turn things around. Meanwhile, as I posted yesterday, our Governor is doing everything he can do against the wishes of the people. Colorado has a good chance of turning red next election. It’s like Newsom and Polis are vying for the title of worst Governor in the Country.

The MSM news is lauding how Trump will be the first convicted felon in the White House. The Dems still don’t get that the reason he won is directly related to them going after him. No way, if it wasn’t Trump, that anyone else would have been prosecuted. Remember, the Justice Dept. declined to prosecute him on these trumped-up charges! (funny ha) It was a DA in New York that ran on getting Trump no matter what. All those millions of dollars and resources spent going after him for supposedly using campaign money to pay off a porn star. (I don’t know anyone who cares) Meanwhile New York is rampant with crime, homelessness and falling apart. I hope they (the Dems) keep it up, as then the Republicans will win again for sure in 2028. People are finally getting fed up with all this crap the Dems have been pushing, enough said.

That’s it, time to get outside! Make it a great day, stay safe and God Bless.

Cold

Says it’s cold outside, at least in Denver. 12 degrees down there. Not sure what it is outside up here. We’re out of here in 30 minutes for Pilates and chest day. I talked to Tommy for a minute last night, he and Holly are getting a puppy! She just lost one of her dogs recently so good for them.

Ty went to Denver to get his windows tinted and stopped at Tommy’s on the way home. He’s super happy and it was one of his birthday presents.

Our mobile vet comes to the house this morning. They’re our regular vet but Harley gets so worked up, they come to the house. Yesterday 12 bottles (liters) of olive oil arrived from Antonio in Italy. Good timing as we’re down to about an inch left in our last bottle. I send him cash and have him send a case every year.

Lori talked to Kristin yesterday. She’s still kind of in shock, which is understandable, but she’ll be ok. She has a good friend group and is a strong girl. Still, so sad as she lost everything, and I mean everything. Can’t imagine all your life’s stuff instantly gone. And the fires, seven of them, are still going. They’ve arrested one arson suspect but most of these have been started by someone.

Most people don’t have insurance as a lot of companies pulled out of the State. Colorado is close to having the same thing happen here. We’ve gone so far downhill since the Democrats took over, in all measures of life. Check this out, what a joke. When will people wake up and stop voting these people in?

Lori’s cooking an impromptu feast for the Bronco game Sunday morning. We’ll have a few people over, but it won’t be as large as our Christmas party.

Time to get moving. No snow up here. Think it’s going to warm up next week. So far it’s been a pretty mild year snow wise for us.

That’s it, make it a great day. Hang in there and God Bless.

Devastation

Out in Los Angeles, fires are destroying the city. Kristin, Lori’s best friend and basically her sister since birth, lost her home in Pacific Palisades yesterday. In the last few hours, two new fires have erupted as well. Kristin wasn’t home when it broke out, so she basically lost everything. Guess the fire hydrants didn’t have water and the city, which passed a $7.5 billion dollar water bill 8 years ago, never completed a single project as they used the money on other things. They also took $17 million from the fire department budget for illegals and shipped a bunch of their firefighting equipment, under Federal orders, to Ukraine. Not trying to make it political right now, but those are the facts. Tens of thousands of people are affected, and thousands are now without their homes. What’s worse, is they’ve lost all their belongings. Kristin lost everything, all her family photos and anything else meaningful she owned. Good luck with the insurance company, if you had insurance. This is why major companies left, because the State refused to clear out underbrush and do basic fire mitigation all to bow down to the environmentalists and eco terrorists, and because the govt. diverted money to fund their sanctuary city policies and give it to illegals. The people in charge, should be charged. So sad. I don’t know if Kristin had insurance at all. Even if you have the money to rebuild, the whole city (Malibu, Palisades, etc.) is gone. And if you do, now with no vegetation, when the rains come, and they will come, so will the floods. I’d move, but most probably won’t. Prayers to all the people dealing with this.

Here’s a photo Kristin took last night of her street.

Yesterday I dropped off Lori around 8:20 in Frisco and headed to Denver. I was back in Vail around 1. Lori made it home around 6:30 and then Jag, Ava, Lori and I played Monopoly. Jagger of course won. He’s so funny as with everything he does, he takes it very seriously.

Not sure if they’re going down to Boulder today or not. Right now, Vail Pass is closed with no estimated time of reopening. So for now, they’re not going anywhere.

I have a conference call at 10 that should run a couple hours. We’ll have our men’s fellowship tonight after work. Lori’s car will now be done on the 14th, so I’ll be driving her around for a few more days.

That’s about it, looks like it’s snowing in Denver. All clear up here. Lesson of the day, and I’ve said it before, is you can only depend on yourself. We’re taxed and taxed, more and more each year, yet when you need to government to step in and help you, they’re nowhere to be found. I wonder if the people in California will get more help rebuilding than those in North Carolina. Everyone has all but forgotten those people, yet their homes are still gone from the hurricane and no help has arrived. Or how about Hawaii? Remember the fires over there? No one has still helped them rebuild. Lesson is, you’re on your own! Don’t forget it!

God Bless.

Frisco & Denver

This morning I’ll drop Lori in Frisco around 8:15. That should put me in Denver a little after 9. Hope to be home by 1 or 2. Jag and Ava picked Lori up at work on the way home last night. That saved me a trip back to Vail. They were a little tired but glad to be here. Harley was super excited, to say the least.

Earlier in the day, I dropped Ty’s new black license plates off to him at work. Then Mark and I sat outside at James’s place enjoying the sun and smoking a cigar while fixing the World’s problems. James was on the mountain skiing.

Things are moving along rapidly in all three businesses I’m working on. I have a big couple of weeks to get them to the next level.

I’m excited about the Broncos this weekend. You never know, we could win. That’s why they say, any given Sunday. That means any team can beat any team on any Sunday. I think we actually have a good chance.

That’s about it, time to get going. Have a good day and God Bless.

Kids coming home

Jag and Ava land at 2 this afternoon. Should be up here by dinner time, traffic permitting. All is good here. My main focus in 2025 is that I’m demanding things happen faster. This means no more taking months or weeks or days for things that should happen in weeks, days or hours. This is mostly centered around work things, but also in my personal life too. It’s all about holding people accountable. My theory is that when your older, you have less time, so you need to act and react faster. Seems to be working so far.

Lori is back working in Vail today and I’ll drop her a bit before 8am. Then it’s back to you know where and then I’ll go see Ty for my usual breakfast of eggs, avocado and a latte. Once I get back home, I’ll continue shaking things up.

No snow up here. Looks like Denver is getting a few inches. You’d think it was the snowstorm of the century the way the news is covering it. Super excited for the Broncos game this coming Sunday. I personally think we can win. It’s only one game and anything can happen. I think we’re having an impromptu party and Lori is making lasagna. The game starts at 11am so we’ll see.

Tomorrow, I need to take Lori to work in Frisco, so I’ll run down to Denver since I’ll already be halfway there. I need to take a couple things back to Neiman’s and will grab some groceries too.

Next week it’ll be mid-January meaning probably only ten more weeks of winter. Spring will be here soon. Time goes fast the older you are.

Make it a great day and be well and stay safe, God Bless.

Playoffs

First time in 8 years, since we won the Super Bowl, that we’re in the playoffs. The game was never in doubt, but the amazing thing was, our QB was 18 for 18, setting a NFL record for the most consecutive completions by a rookie, in the first half. Next Sunday morning at 11 we play the Buffalo Bills, which are arguably the favorites to win it all, but you never know.

In the morning, we went to the gym, (I know, what’s new) and today I’ll go again after dropping Lori at work in Vail. We get her car back Thursday. She found out the other day, one of her close friends, and former coworker she hired, has breast cancer. Luce is actually a doctor in Colombia but needs her certification here in the U.S. She might have it now, I’m not sure. Anyhow, Luce is 50 years old, and Lori met and hired her when she was at Steadman. They’ve been super close ever since. She has an appointment at 10 this morning to see what the plan is. Luckily, we’ve come a long way medically but still, no one wants to hear the C word. Prayers for her.

Ty made it home alright, even though there was some snow. Glad I bought him sandbags for the back of the truck. I’ll see him this morning after the gym. Jag and Ava fly back tomorrow, weather permitting. They land in Denver in the afternoon and then will drive up.

Time to get moving. It’s officially the start of 2025 with this being the first full week of the year. Time to get after it. Let’s go! Have a great day, great week, and great year! It’s going to be a good one, I have a feeling. Go Broncos and God Bless.
